Chapter 29

  I started to shake in fear as everything around me slowed down. I looked down at the now shattered mug the only thing left being the handle that was held tightly in my hand. Small cuts covered my hand and arm from the glass flying everywhere. 

  I swallowed nervously, slowly turning around. I saw Josh with a gun in his hand still aiming it at me standing in front of the steps of the large house. I quickly turned back around to face the door, closing my eyes hoping everything will be okay and someone will open the door and I'll be safe and sound. 

  I took deep breaths trying to calm myself, fluttering my eyes open at the sound of Mark's voice. "Go get her." He demanded. I heard footsteps coming up the wooden steps and I was completely frozen to my spot. Unable to move from fear and shock of what was going on. 

  I heard the doorknob begin to rattle and fists pounded against it from the other side. I looked over at the small window beside the door to see Niall, Harry, Zayn, and Liam looking out frantically. A large rough hand seemed to snap me from my shocked daze and I slapped it away going to the window. Niall pounded against it with wide anger filled eyes. "Belle! Look out!" I heard his muffled yell before being whipped around and slapped hard across the face. My face whipped to the side and I nearly fell to the porch from impact. The sound of glass shattering caused Josh to face away from me. 
  I took this to my advantage and kicked him hard where the sun don't shine. He dropped the gun, falling to the porch bent over in pain. I felt an arm wrap around my waist from behind, lifting me up into the air. "Put me down!" I screamed, kicked, and punched, until I turned around to face my attacker. "I'm sorry." He nodded in understanding and looked at the car to see Mark hopping out quickly. Niall put me carefully through the now broken window avoiding the sharp edges, setting me gently on my feet. 

  He stepped in after and I was immediately enveloped into a bear hug. He pulled away looking me dead in the eye with concern. "Are you okay?" I nodded slowly, in a trance from his crystal clear blue eyes. He took ahold of my hand causing me to wince in pain. He furrowed his brow in confusion, bringing my hand gently up to examine it. "How?" Pain evident in his voice. "The mug. He shot the mug." My voice was shaky from everything that had happened in a matter of minutes. I heard a deep growl come from his throat and he released my hand. I heard a scream and whipped my head around to face the window. Mark was holding Megan at his side roughly with one arm wrapped tightly around her arms and stomach preventing her from moving.

  "Come out. Come out. Wherever you are." Mark tauntingly sang. "You want to save your little friend don't you?" My breath hitched in my throat. I heard another deep animalistic growl come from beside me and looked over to see Harry's fist clenched tightly at his sides. Anger flashing through his eyes as he stared with narrowed eyes at Mark. He looked as though he was ready to murder him and save Megan. "Come with me and I'll let your precious friend go and never bother any of them again." 

  I felt an arm wrap around my waist tightly from behind, preventing me from moving. "He's lying." Niall spoke into my ear, his breath sending a chill down my spine. "If I don't go now he won't stop until I do." He shook his head, looking at me full of worry. "He'll hurt you if you go." I looked away from his face, biting my lip to keep tears from welling in my eyes. "I'd rather it be me then my friends that have nothing to do with it." I whispered, lifting my head up and meeting his eyes again. "I won't let you go." He stated sternly, his brows furrowed in anger. "It's my choice." I stated softly, removing his arm from my waist. 

  I stepped partway out the window, looking back at Niall's surprised blue eyes before walking onto the porch.
