Note: I apologise in advance for the small Ryeji moments up ahead if you're only here for skz... oops?

Enjoy lol

"Give it to me! Give it to me!" She yells. "I'm so wet, give it to me now!" She can scream all she wants, but Minho is keeping the umbrella.

"Lee Minho, I will fucking end you," Ryujin continues to threaten as she's being drenched in the rain.

Minho scoffs. "As if. You might be older but I'm way stronger than you."

"Do you two never have a non-hostile conversation? Like ever?" Yeji inquires while she watches the siblings, standing beside Hyunjin under a shared, large umbrella.

The Lee + Shin and Hwang families are spending a week together to make up for their neglected holidays. The kids were so stressed during those times with their studies and jobs that it just wasn't the best occasion to go home. But first and foremost, you might wonder why it's 'Lee + Shin'. It's not because Minho and Ryujin aren't related, because they are. It's simply that their mother didn't want to change her surname to 'Lee' so instead, Ryujin kept their mothers surname and Minho got their fathers.

Right now, the kids are out on a hike together. It's not the most optimal weather. At all. It's raining, they only have 2 umbrellas and Ryujin and Minho can't seem to get along, like usual. They're both very quick-witted so they often turn small but needless arguments into roast battles.

That's what's led them to Hyunjin and Minho sharing one, walking up front, while Yeji and Ryujin walk behind them at a slower pace. They sure are insisting on taking this hike.

"So? Felix?" Minho inquires as he looks ahead, watching the raindrops fall to the ground. Hyunjin is the one with the umbrella, thus Minho's arms just hang in his hoodie's pockets. "Any progress?"

Hyunjin takes a loud breath. "I don't even know. He's so confusing."

"What's the problem? I thought he asked you out last week?" Minho had heard all about it once Felix finally asked Hyunjin out while they were mindlessly cuddling on the couch. Hyunjin was a frantic maniac the whole week, becoming a flustered mess as soon as Felix's name was solely mentioned. You can say he has somewhat of a history with taking things too quickly with feelings and relationships so he might as well already be completely in love with the Aussie.

"He did, but he's just being so hesitant." Hyunjin sighs. He really, really wants things to go right with Felix. He wants this to be the start of his end to dating.

"He's probably just scared of fucking it up. We both know you can be very..." Minho doesn't finish his sentence, and Hyunjin turns to stare at him, raising an eyebrow.

"Very?..." He prompts, trying to get Minho to conclude the description.

Minho tilts his head. "Pretentious?"

Hyunjin gasps fiercely. " I am not pretentious!"

The elder just stares at him with an unimpressed expression. "I think your gasp proves my point."

Right as Hyunjin's mouth falls to another gasp, he shuts it, seeing as he'd prove Minho right. "Okay, let's say I'm 'pretentious'." He rolls his eyes. "How do I get him to stop worrying so much? I'm literally happy with whatever, as long as he's with me."

"Tell him that."

With his fingers threading through the pink hair, Hyunjin groans. "But how?"

"Exactly like you said right now. Just let everything out, all of the time. Don't keep those emotions to yourself."

"But wouldn't that be awkward?" Hyunjin scrunches his nose. "Like, should I even tell him that I'll be sad if he doesn't buy me an Americano on his way over?"

"Hyunjin." Minho stops in his tracks, making the younger follow his lead. Minho takes a grip on each side of Hyunjin's shoulders, spinning him around along with the umbrella that sprinkles a few droplets onto the boys. He makes sure they've locked eyes before he speaks.

Hyunjin has his big, innocent doe eyes on display, patiently waiting for the wise words."Nobody gives a shit about your Americano."

The younger is about to protest and ferociously make his retort, but Minho continues. "Nobody, except Felix. I'm sure he'd be delighted if you told him every single detail about you and your Americano dreams. But that's what being in a relationship consists of. You tell your partner everything, every single ugly detail and work your way through it, together."

Minho releases his grip he has on Hyunjin and begins walking again once their sisters come into their peripheral vision.

A stillness washes over their conversation, and the sound of the rain crumbling to the muddy ground furnishes their eardrums. They're walking along a forest trail, surrounded by a constant green, crisp scenery with each turn.

"Thanks," Hyunjin mumbles, straining his eyes ahead.

But Minho becomes befuddled and hoists an eyebrow. "For what? Degrading you and your Americano fantasies?"

Hyunjin barks out a laugh, jokingly slapping the elder's shoulder.

Minho looks at him and smiles with that famed glint in his eyes of amusement. "I'll take an hourly pay next time. Watch out," he says and throws his fists by his face and fakes a boxing stance.

The pink haired boy throws his eyes into a swirl. "I'll pay you $3."

"$3?!" Minho repeats, staring at Hyunjin with wide eyes and scoffs. "Keep your rotten $3, I don't want them."

"Great," Hyunjin declares. "I'll spend them on Felix instead."

"How? Throwing coins at him while he dances around a pole?" Minho grins at the sound of Hyujin's second round of laughter, but now tossing his head back.

"Why not?" Hyunjin prods at Minho's arm with his own. "I'm sure he'll look great in thongs."

The grey haired boy scowls at his friend. "You're disgusting."

"You say that as if you don't like dick," Hyunjin remarks with another launch of his eyes to a twirl.

"And you don't?"

"Who doesn't?"

Minho glances over his shoulder at Ryujin and Yeji profoundly giggling together. "Them." He returns back to stare at the road ahead.

With a scrunch of his nose, Hyunjin says, "They're another species, that's not a fair comparison."

"Yeah, lesbians," Minho points out.

"Closeted lesbians."

"Pretty sure they're fucking in that closet by now."

Hyunjin shrugs. "Wouldn't blame them. Pent up sexual energy can't be healthy. Gotta get it out one way or another."

The response elicits a scoff from the elder. "I'd much rather deal with it than dance around a pole."

A gasp is revived from Hyunjin. "Are you saying you don't want to be a stripper??"

"No, that's my dream job, don't be stupid." Minho rolls his eyes. "I'm saying I'd much rather talk about the elephant in the room rather than dance around it."

"And I was supposed to understand that by you saying you'd 'much rather deal with it than dance around a pole'?" Hyunjin's delicate facial features wrinkle with confusion.

"I should stop letting my brain take a vacation around you."

"Yah!"

A hand from behind comes to Hyunjin's rescue, slapping Minho by the back of his head. "Stop being mean to poor Hyunjin," Ryujin says, Yeji walking by her side. The two large umbrellas slowly merge to one while the Hwang siblings become the outer pillars.

Minho scoffs at the statement. "As if you have room to talk."

Ryujin lifts an eyebrow at her brother challengingly. "Are you saying I don't?"

The younger between the two grins at her. "Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Glad you understood for once."

"What was that?" Ryujin 'inquires' with a threatening tone, raising a fist. Yeji is quick to intertwine her free hand with Ryujin's freshly clenched fingers to avoid any fights when they're out in the middle of nowhere. Hyunjin, too, makes a small attempt to hold at Minho's wrist, but the elder tugs away at the grip.

"We all misunderstand things sometimes! It's a common mistake, really. Isn't it, Jin?" Yeji laughs nervously.

"Yes of course it is my dear sister!" Hyunjin's words come out awfully manufactured, as they do when he gets skittish.

"Ungrateful brat," Ryujin mumbles, loud enough for Minho to hear it. They both murmur their complaints but they let go of it, eventually, with a chuckle.

A silent moment passes by. But soon enough, the air is being filled with perilous responses to Hyunjin's newly found mouthful of drama. "You know, I heard Doyun is in town," Hyunjin says and it draws out loud reactions from the girls.

The first one to comment on it is Ryujin. She gasps. "'Coincidentally' at the same time Minho is?? What a creep!"

"Yeah, that's really weird." Yeji nods. "And we all know how weird he could be sometimes."

"Still surprised you even dated him," Hyunjin scoffs.

But Minho just shrugs. "He was hot and I was horny. There's no better match."

"He was not hot." Ryujin and Minho have always had somewhat of opposite tastes when it comes to guys. "He looked like a meth addicted construction worker."

Hyunjin and Yeji both hurl into a fit of laughter while Minho's ears get painted with a spiking red tint. Ryujin notices her little brother growing more embarrassed by each passing second and engulfs him in a snug side hug, keeping her arm around his shoulders.

"It's okay, Min, everyone has bad taste in men sometimes," she continues, grinning back at her brother who lolls his eyes. Their jokes would sometimes come to be vaguely harsh. However if that were to occur, they'd display some sort of affection to reassure one another that it was all just pleasantries.

"C'mon Ryu, don't be so mean to Min," Yeji says once her giggles cease.

"Some people need to hear the truth to realise their stupidity." Once Ryujin finishes the sentence, she earns an elbow at her waist. When she's about to bite back, she decides to instead shove Minho off of her and scowl at him.

"Why didn't you take the bartender instead? I still remember how he tried to flirt his way into your pants," Hyunjin inquires.

Minho hoists an eyebrow at the question. "Who'd be making my drinks then?"

The youngest one of the group twirls his eyes. "I don't think you'd need drinks while getting bent over a counter."

"Language!" Yeji yells from the other side.

"And why didn't you just leave it at a one night stand? Neither of you were interested in relationships at that time anyways," Ryujin asks, bumping Minho's shoulder with her own.

"Why am I suddenly being targeted??" Minho widens his eyes while he speaks.

Hyunjin looks at him with a questioning expression. "Because you're usually the one targeting?"

"For valid reasons," Minho voices with a lift of his shoulders.

Ryujin scoffs. "Like what?"

Minho murmurs, "Whatever." She smiles with victory, ruffling Minho's hair while he groans in complaint. The only one he couldn't win against was solely his sister.

"Can we please start heading back now," Hyunjin whines, evidently over this whole ruined hike.

Yeji hums. "Yeah, let's do this some other time."

The group comes to the conclusion that the hike was a bad idea and will refrain from doing this mistake in the future (it's just that nobody wants to have a disguised work out on their day off.)

***

Minho is on the verge of sleep. His lids are heavy on his eyes and the white sheets feel snug against his bare skin. Soonie is lying further down on the foot of the bed while Doongie is on top of their shared cat tree. Ryujin is in another room down the hall. Their parents are out on a double date night. It was supposed to be a family dinner with the Hwangs, but the kids were way too tired to tag along after spending the whole day by the ocean.

It's been 2 days since the hike, currently on their way to the third. Minho has only texted Jisung once since the start of the short vacation. He'd sent a picture of Soonie and Doongie, and Jisung had replied with a few messages aching to pet the adorable cats.

He's unsure if he should text anything again. He had an excuse the last time, but what is his excuse this time? Should he send another picture of Soonie and Doongie? Maybe one of Soonie on his bed right now, sitting bundled up like a loaf. No, it's 2 am after all, Jisung is probably sleeping. He prompts his elbow on his pillow while the phone's bright beam illuminates the dark room.

Minho just stares at the texts from the night before. Right as he sighs and his finger nears the lock button, three dots show up, pending. His heart skips a beat and he exits the chat. Fuck. Did Jisung see that he's in the chat? Is Jisung reading his mind? Why is Jisung texting him so late?

A notification pops up.

Notification Centre ⓧJisungie 2:05 amKnock knock

Minho reads the message and his lips subconsciously bloom into a smile. A string in his chest gets tugged at violently, but it brings Minho back to reality. He shrugs the grin off and replies.

M: It's 2 am Jisung

J: And you still replied?

Even if it's 5 am, Minho will probably still reply in an instant. He'll always reply if it's Jisung who messages him.

M: Who's there

J: Ivana

M: Ivana who?

J: Ivana hold your hand

Minho surfaces an upsurge in his pulse, but he brushes it off, just like he did when he first got Jisung's message. Jisung's corny, stupid, yet adorably cute knock-knock jokes are a lot more intoxicating than Minho initially anticipated.

M: I'm in Gimpo

J: You're not saying no?

M: How's your day been

With a content brain and a full grin, he shuts his phone off and plugs it to the charger, setting it aside to his bedside table. Jisung has a way with Minho that not even he himself can explain.

***

The house overflows with the smell of pancakes. The sunlight strikes between the poorly dusting blinds and urges Minho to wake up. It was way too long ago he woke up to his mothers breakfast feast. Sure, they'd already had it since the beginning of the trip, but it's a profound blessing every time.

He opens his childhood bedroom door and exits with a yawn. Minho looks down the hall where his sister, too, has spawned.

"What are you looking at?" Ryujin scrunches her nose at Minho's heavy stare as she sleepily approaches her brother.

Minho chuckles. "I forgot how ugly you are."

"You little-" Ryujin gets a hold around Minho's neck and puts him in a chokehold while all Minho does is laugh. She ruffles up his already fluffy hair as they walk into the kitchen in the uncomfortable position. Minho is practically bending over sideways, head covering up Ryujin's entire stomach.

At this point, Minho is whining loudly, complaining to his sister to let him go.

Their mother takes a glance at the siblings and sighs, returning to the sizzling pancakes in her pan. "Ryuddaeng, let go of your brother."

Ryujin gives Minho's head a final, violent tousle before he gets released. He groans as he stretches his back and walks over to his mother. Ryujin is quick to land a slap on Minho's hips before he reaches his destination and they share grimaces.

"Eomma," he whines. "I'm so tired," He says with another yawn, resting his chin on her shoulder.

She coos at her son. "Baby, there's already a few pancakes on the table, make yourself comfortable."

His sister joins in on the play and rests her chin on their mother's other shoulder. "Eomma I'm so hungry."

Another coo escapes her mouth. "I'm sure there's enough for the both of you, Ryuddaeng." Her voice then switches to the stern tone she uses when setting out the rules. "But you have to share."

Minho grunts while he leaves her shoulder and instead sits down by the kitchen-table. It's all for the act. He isn't actually annoyed about having to share food with Ryujin. Sharing was never an issue between them, neither participant minds it. It's just funny to make it into a whole fake ordeal.

"I'm making more, so I'll fill it up soon," their mother adds, not letting her eyes leave the warm stove.

Ryujin settles down in front of Minho and begins to prepare her plate. The three of them stay in a comforting harmony of the early birds chirping.

"Where's abba?" Minho inquires once it hits him that their father isn't with them.

Their mother sighs. "Your Abeoji stayed out with Hyunjin and Yeji's Abeoji the whole night drinking. He's currently sleeping in the garage to scold himself for doing so again."

Ryujin and Minho both laugh. "It wasn't a very romantic date night then, huh?" Ryujin says, raising an eyebrow.

She lifts her shoulders and lets them fall down with an exhale. "I'm convinced I was supposed to be into women."

The kids laugh while another figure shuffles its way to the kitchen. "My head is still spinning," their father gasps and grips the wall for support.

"Good morning Abba," Minho and Ryujin say in unison.

"Good morning kids." He nods with squinted eyes and walks over to his wife. He gives her a quick kiss on the cheek and her own 'good morning, Jagi.'

She sighs and returns the sweet words. "The soup is in the fridge, Aegiya." Aegiya (애기야) = Baby

"Ah, thanks," he mumbles and turns to the fridge and rustles to find a small container of hangover soup.

Both the morning and the day are ordinary. Just like the day before, the families pass the hours at the beach. Their families are like one large clan, or maybe a cult. Whether they're in different regions of the world or not, they typically spend all holidays together. Since they had all grown up jointly, it's only natural that they'd spend their time attached by the hip.

It started with their mothers being best friends since middle school. After they found their boyfriends (designated husbands), they decided that their kids would be raised together, at least in close proximity, just in different households. And here they are. 20+ years later. All as one big family.

With the sun crawling its way off of the sky, the kids decide to leave for their local night club. It'd been a while they'd even gone to one at all. Of course they helped their parents pack the grill and food into the back of the cars before they left.

Minho is somewhat excited. As mentioned before, it'd been a while since they'd been at a club at all. In Seoul, Minho mostly just tags along for the easy one-night stands and amusing banters with strangers. But during these past few weeks, he's been busy, caught up with JYPE and the cat cafe. The tutoring sessions with Jisung take up the little free time he has left, but it's fine. Being with Jisung is basically a vacation itself.

***

They're sitting in a booth by the windows; Hyunjin and Minho on one side, Yeji and Ryujin on the other. Already a few wine glasses in, Yeji is starting to slur her words. She's not very attune with heavy drinking, used to being a lightweight. Ryujin has had two beers, sipping on her third, but in comparison to Yeji, she can hold her alcohol quite well. Hyunjin has promised himself to stay sober by at least 0.02% (we'll see how that goes), worst case scenario, they'll get a cab and pick up their car tomorrow once they're sober. And as for Minho, he's already flirted his way with the bartender to one free Mojito and one Whiskey sour.

They're all sitting by the booth, conversing like they always do through the loud beats.

"He was just being straight up disrespectful to the waiter! Who does that on a first date?!" Yeji complains, waving her hands in the air as if the motions are somewhat correlated to what she's talking about.

Minho lifts an eyebrow. "So you'd excuse it if it was on the third date?"

"Well..." Yeji mumbles, steering off to imagine the situation. "No!" She fiercely bites back. "People should be nice to service workers! They're doing God's work."

Nobody manages to reply to her rant because Hyunjin is perilously gasping. "Doyun is here, 5 o'clock." He swiftly turns around and huddles against Minho.

Minho just stares at him, confused. "Why are you hiding? You're not even the one that dated him."

At the realisation, Hyunjin straightens his back and returns to his previous posture. "Oh, yeah, you're right."

The older boy between the pair sighs. "I really can't escape him in Gimpo, huh?"

Ryujin contemplates it with a hum. "To be completely fair, we're at Gimpo's like one and only club where there's actual people and not grandparents trotting around."

"Yeah," Yeji agrees. "We can't really blame him for being here."

"I'm not." Minho shrugs. "I just don't want to see him right now."

"Scared it'll bring up old feelings?" Hyunjin asks earnestly.

Minho just hums with a nod, taking another sip with the straw of his Whiskey sour. He decides to glance back at the entrance and regrets it. Doyun's eyes are plastered at Minho's, having stared at the back of his head for a good minute.

Minho's relationship with Doyun was essentially his first. He had flings and affairs with friends in the past, but nothing more. They first met in this nightclub while both being lust filled and only looking for an easy partner for the night. They spent more nights together as a result of their intriguingly amusing banter. At one point, they were exclusively only sexually active with one another. Considering that love was in the air at the time, they made the decision to attempt a relationship.

They had a decent half-year endurance, which was great. However, because their relationship was solely based on their sexual compatibility, it ultimately lacked romantic feelings. The break up was peaceful and mutual. Although they occasionally slept together afterwards, they weren't at all romantically interested in one another. They were both aware that their personalities didn't truly intertwine.

Nonetheless, Minho found it bothersome that Doyun had, the next day, hooked up with someone else. Perhaps he used that as a coping mechanism? At least Minho tried to persuade himself of that. Even if they weren't particularly romantic in nature, it still hurt to stop getting those sweet morning texts. Not having someone use tender pet names to you every day hurt. Not waking up to that familiar warmth hurt. Everything simply hurt. After all, they'd established a routine with one another.

"I just better get it over with." Minho sighs. "It's not like we ended the relationship in a fight. We both knew we weren't really in love. It was just an easy way to a good fuck."

Hyunjin's face creases to a grimace. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, nobody wants to hear how he pounded you into a mattress. Now go." Hyunjin is quick to nudge Minho out of the booth.

The elder scoffs and rolls his eyes. "At least I'm getting pounded. What are you doing? Playing Uno with 'Lix every afternoon like it's a life-threatening medication?"

"Hey Felix is really cute!" Yeji yells from the other side of the table. Minho scrunches his nose at her intoxicity and turns around, walking towards Doyun. "He can get away with anything!" She continues, laying her head against Ryujin's shoulder and the younger tries not to tense under her friend's touch.

It doesn't sound like Yeji willingly lets go of the next thread of information. It's most likely the alcohol setting her bounds loose. "Just like he got away with kissing my Ryujin."

"Wait what?" Ryujin snaps her head to the side, staring at Yeji.

Her cheeks are painted pink, clearly growing more shy for each passing second under the younger's gaze. "You know," Yeji starts. "When we played spin the bottle last year."

"But I thought you'd forgotten it by now? Why'd you remember that of all things?" Ryujin inquires while she hoists an eyebrow. She can feel her ears blooming with warmth, but dismisses the heat.

"Because it should've landed on me! Not Felix! Why was he allowed to kiss you, but I'm not," She murmurs, words getting quieter towards the end.

Ryujin's eyes are about to explode out of her face. "You want to kiss me?"

Yeji lifts herself from Ryujin's shoulder and rubs her nape, sitting up straight while she stares down at the table. It doesn't seem like she planned for those words to leave her mouth. The alcohol twirls through her face, making her unable to strain even a second of eye contact with Ryujin.

"No, you can't shy away now, Unnie," Ryujin says, making sure to get a gentle grip around Yeji's jaw and turns her back towards her.

"Is this supposed to be some kind of bad porno?" Hyunjin stares at them with a scrunched up nose.

Ryujin gives him a lethal glare. "I've waited for this moment for 11 years. Hyunjin, if you ruin this, I will literally kill you."

Hyunjin defensively raises his hands by each side of his head and begins to jump out from the booth. He shouldn't even be surprised at how similar Ryujin and Minho are at this point. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry, I'll go check up on Minho hyung."

He leaves the booth and lets the two lesbians exit the mental closet together. God, who knew lesbians could be so masculine. The power of homosexuality never ceases to surprise Hyunjin.

Doyun stares at Minho as if he's prey and about to become his next midnight snack. Hyunjin walks up from behind his friend, not greeting the boy's ex. He never personally liked Doyun. He was always somewhat of a creep, acting all jealous and possessive as soon as Minho entered the vicinity of another clothed pair of male genitals. And somehow he'd always be at the same places as Minho. But the elder had denied it each and every time by calling it coincidences. A coincidence happens once. Not 24 times.

However, to be frank, Doyun has quite the appealing looks. He's wearing a tight fitted black tee, showing off the muscles lying underneath. He has a simple pair of blue jeans and a slim gold chain hanging around his neck. His golden hair is tousled, but it fits his demeanour. He fits in blonde hair. He always has. He was the one who inspired Hyunjin to bleach his own hair, but there's no way he'd confess that. Hyunjin has pink hair now, anyway.

"His name is Han Jisung," Minho mumbles, looking unsure of the sentence.

"What?" Doyun scrunches his face and leans in closer to hear Minho through the thundering rhythm. "Hyunjin? That gay ass?"

Hyunjin scoffs. As if Doyun doesn't suck a new dick everyday.

Minho sighs. "No, and don't call him that," he demands and Doyun apologises as Minho continues to speak. "Han. Jisung.".

"Ah," he drags out, returning to his vertical posture on the barstool. "Han Jisung," he repeats.

Hyunjin decides to interfere. He knows who Han Jisung is, and he also knows Han Jisung has no business in this scenery. "What about Jisung?" He inquires.

Doyun snickers. "My ex was just bragging about his new boyfriend. A normal Wednesday night wouldn't you say?"

It feels like Hyunjin's eyes are radioactive bombs that are slowly poisoning the rest of his body into a coma. He regains consciousness when he gets an elbow shoved into his waist by Minho who's evidently glaring at him to not fuck it up.

Let's take this conversation from the start.

Minho walks over, seeing how Doyun's eyes lustfully follow his thighs. His thighs have always been one of his biggest assets.

"So? Are you coming over here to flip me off or wake up in my bed? My car is outside," Doyun immediately offers with a sloppy smirk.

"Now?" Minho curses at himself for the insecurity that's effortlessly detectable in his voice. He knows he shouldn't, but there was no denying that Doyun was one of Minho's best partners in bed.

He chuckles cockily. "No, yesterday." He rolls his eyes. "Yes, Minho, now."

Minho's teeth dive down at his lower lip before he speaks again. "I have a boyfriend."

Doyun raises an eyebrow. "Oh?"

"Mmm," Minho hums, avoiding eye contact. He just needs an out before his brain gets all mushy and he ends up leaving the club with Doyun again. His feet feel as if they're glued to the floor, and he can't find the strength to leave right now. He usually isn't like this. Minho is quite the character and can reject someone without an ounce of emotion, but something with Doyun makes him weak. And Doyun knows that.

"What's your boyfriend like then?" He laughs, as if Minho's lying to his face. And he is. But Doyun has no reason not to believe him.

This makes Minho's mouth go sour. "What's so funny?"

Doyun just shakes his head, straining his laughter. "No, no, it's nothing, sorry. Go on."

"At least he actually loves me," Minho spits.

The sentence makes a sudden twist in Doyun's mood bloom with acid. "What's his name?"

Minho rumbles through his brain to find a fitting name. He watches his ex raise an eyebrow to challenge the existence of this so-called 'boyfriend' of his.

"Han Jisung."

He's so fucked.
