Chapter 38

Faye

After dinner, we sank into the couch, sharing a bowl of strawberry ice creamβ€”because why not make things sweeter? We'd agreed to use just one spoon, which only added to the playful intimacy of the moment.

"God," Yoko groaned, closing her eyes as she took the first bite. "This is perfect."

I raised an eyebrow, leaning closer. "More perfect than my dinner?"

She licked the spoon slowly, a mischievous giggle escaping her lips. "No, I mean, it's the perfect way to end dinner." She scooped another bite, holding it out to me. "Here."

Taking her hand in mine, I guided the spoon to my lips, maintaining eye contact as I savoured the sweetness. "Mmm," I hummed, my tongue flicking over the spoon. "Delicious."

The room fell into a comfortable silence, but the air between us was anything but calm. Every small touch, every shared look, seemed to spark electricity. The tension was palpable, heavy with anticipation.

"Shall we play a game?" I asked suddenly, leaning back against the cushions as she set the bowl on the coffee table.

Yoko tilted her head slightly, her curiosity piqued. "A game? What kind of game?"

I smirked, the plan already forming in my mind. Two can play at this game, my darling. "Two truths, one lie. But," I paused, letting my voice drop slightly as I watched her reaction, "with a twist."

Her eyebrow arched in intrigue, her lips curling into a playful grin. "What kind of twist?"

"Each time you guess wrong," I said, my tone casual but my heart pounding beneath the surface, "you'll have to remove one piece of clothing."

The air between us thickened instantly. She said nothing for a moment, her gaze locked on mine, the faintest flush creeping up her neck. Then, she leaned forward, her smirk widening as she met the challenge head-on.

"Alright," she said, her voice steady but laced with playful determination. "But just so you know," she leaned in closer, her breath warm against my cheek, "you'll be naked first."

I chuckled softly, my pulse quickening. "We'll see about that."

And with that, the game began.

"Alright, I'll go first," I said, my voice low and teasing as I locked eyes with her, watching her anticipation build. "Okay, I've participated in beauty contests before, I've slept in class before, and I've actually passed all my English literature exams."

Her expression turned serious, her focus razor-sharp as she carefully deliberated each statement. I could see the wheels turning in her head, and damn if her thinking face wasn't adorable.

"Well, you're undeniably gorgeous, so beauty contests are probably true," she began, her tone thoughtful. "And I can totally see you passing all your English lit exams. So I'm calling the sleep as your lie."

"Wrong." I grinned triumphantly, my eyes dancing with mischief. "I failed the English lit. Shocking, I know."

Her mouth fell open in disbelief. "No way! How?"

"University-level literature isn't a walk in the park. Plus, the lecturer was awful," I shrugged, my tone light before turning firm. "But enough about that. Strip."

Her exasperated eye roll was followed by a playful smirk as she lifted her shirt over her head, tossing it aside with a flourish. "Alright, my turn."

"I've almost burned down my kitchen making toast, I've scored full marks in calculus, and I've fallen off a tree."

I laughed, "No way, I don't believe you really almost burned down the kitchen. Toast."

"Wrong!" she said proudly. "Now, strip."

I slowly peeled off my top, revealing my black bra. Her reaction was immediateβ€”her eyes widened, her lips parted slightly, and her gaze lingered a little too long.

"Like what you see?" I teased, relishing the way her cheeks flushed.

"Shut up," she muttered, though the way her gaze darkened betrayed her desire.

I shifted in my seat, my confidence growing as her exposed skin began to flush faintly under my gaze. "I've dyed my hair red before, I know how to cut hair, and I've gone skydiving."

Her eyes lit up as she mulled over my options, her lips twitching into a smirk. "Tall people and heights don't mix, so skydiving's the lie."

"Right," I admitted with a chuckle. "Not because I'm afraid of heights, but because Engfa chickened out last minute."

"Alright, your turn," I prompted, trying to keep the game going even as my thoughts started to stray.

"I like pink, I like blue, and I like yellow," she said, keeping her voice steady.

I raised an eyebrow. "Pink is obvious, so... blue?"

"Got you!" she exclaimed, her tone triumphant. "I dislike yellow."

I sighed dramatically but complied, unbuttoning my pants and letting them slide down my legs. Now clad only in my bra and underwear, I smirked as her jaw dropped slightly. "My turn."

"I once rode on a pig's back, I passed my driving test on the first try, and I've never ridden in a hot air balloon."

Her brow furrowed as she stared at me. "How'd you even get on a pig? No, waitβ€”why would you?"

I shrugged, feigning innocence. "Answer."

"The pig," she said confidently. "That's gotta be the lie."

"Wrong again." I laughed, enjoying her confusion. "I failed my driving test thrice. The pig was real."

Groaning, she slipped off her shorts, leaving her in just her bra and panties. The sight was enough to make my heart race.

"Alright, my turn," she said, her voice a little breathier now. "I've fallen into a pond while feeding fish, I've caught a bird with my bare hands, and I was featured in a commercial as a child."

"Commercial," I said confidently, watching her closely.

Her triumphant grin flashed. "Gotcha! It was the pond. I didn't fall, but almost."

I unclasped my bra, letting it fall away. Her reaction was immediateβ€”her gaze locked onto me, her lips slightly parted.

"God, you're stunning," she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper.

The tension between us reached a boiling point as I smirked. "Last round. Let's see if you can handle it."

Her voice wavered slightly as she spoke. "I know how to make a circuit board, I've helped my dad change car tires, and I used to play a wind instrument."

"Wind instrument," I answered without hesitation.

Her groan of defeat was music to my ears. "Fine. Your turn."

I leaned in close, my lips brushing her ear as I whispered, "I like pink, I like sunflowers, and I like black."

"Pink," she said quickly, her confidence faltering as she held my gaze.

"Wrong." My voice dropped, laced with desire. "I win."

She laughed softly, but I could see itβ€”the way her breath hitched, the way her cheeks flushed a deeper shade of pink. Her eyes flickered down at herself before slowly meeting mine again, and in that moment, her decision was made.

With a small, deliberate breath, her hands reached behind her back. My eyes remained fixed on her, unblinking, as her fingers found the clasp of her bra. She gave me a small, defiant smileβ€”one that sent a spark straight through meβ€”as she unhooked it. The bra slipped effortlessly from her shoulders, gliding down her arms before she tossed it aside with casual ease.

Time seemed to still as my gaze swept over her, taking in every inch of her newly exposed skin. But it wasn't just her body that captivated meβ€”it was the way her eyes transformed, darkened with raw intensity. The air around us thickened, charged with something far beyond the teasing and playfulness from before.

She shifted slightly, her posture changing as she leaned in just enough to blur the line between deliberate and instinctive. Her gaze locked onto mine, unrelenting, as though daring me to look away. But I couldn't. I wouldn't. In her eyes, I saw it allβ€”desire, hunger, and a yearning that mirrored my own.

The game was over. The teasing was forgotten. The only thing that mattered now was the pull between us, heavy and irresistible.

I swallowed hard, the tension coiling tightly in my chest as I leaned in closer. Her lips parted slightly, as if she was about to speak, but I didn't give her the chance. My restraint finally snapped.

In one fluid motion, I closed the distance between us, my hands cupping her face with an urgency I couldn't hold back anymore. My lips met hers in a kiss that was anything but gentle. It was fierce, needy, pouring out every ounce of desire I'd been holding back. Her response was immediateβ€”she kissed me back just as passionately, her hands threading through my hair as she pulled me closer, erasing any space left between us.

"Let's..." I murmured against her lips, pulling back just enough for our foreheads to touch, our breaths mingling in the charged air between us. My voice was low, thick with need. "Go to the room."

Her nod was barely perceptible, but it was all I needed. Our fingers intertwined, and without another word, we rose from the couch, our movements hurried but purposeful. Together, we headed upstairs, every step fueled by the electricity that surged between us, neither of us willing to wait a moment longer.

Tonight, there would be no holding back. I'll make sure to make up for our lost times altogether.
