Chapter 9
22:57, 1 December 2013A/N I'm sooooo sorry for the delay but this is the mini chapter before a kinda big one which basically explains everything so bare with and enjoy this one :)
The wind blew my hair across my face in a way which was slightly annoying if i had the energy to even remotely care. There was a slight chance i had underestimated the ability of Hotch and the rest of the BAU. Maybe it was my acute anxiety disorder but the thought that they were not coming to help me suddenly crossed my mind. My breathing began to quicken slightly at the idea i had put myself in immediate danger for no apparent reason. That maybe i had placed my trust in the wrong people.
“Hanna-Rose?” an oddly familiar voice suddenly came from next to me. I glanced up and was met by none other than Unit Chief, SSA Aaron Hotchner himself.
“Thank the stars” i whispered and smiled ever-so-slightly. He smiled back, though it was also a broken smile, before an African-American alpha male who i took an educated guess to be SSA Derek Morgan spoke.
“You’re Hanna-Rose Black?” he checked and, with an internal roll of the eyes, i nodded.
“Yes, that is correct”
“But, you look nothing like the receptionist described”
“I will explain everything after you have taken me into the BAU”
“There’s no need for that Hanna. We plan to move you to a halfway house until we find a place safe enough” Hotch informed me but i merely smirked and stared straight ahead, trying to soak up all the life that passed around me. At the risk of sounding slightly clichéd, the world really was beautiful if you took the time to notice it. Apparently, i had been running for too long that i had not realised this.
“Is something wrong?” Hotch frowned.
“Wherever you take me, they will find me” i looked up at him then moved my eyes so they fell on SSA Derek Morgan “I need you to arrest me”
“What?” they both asked simultaneously.
“They are watching right now. It has become apparent to me that the only place they will not come for me is in a federal building because that is a risk even they would not take. I need them to see me getting arrested and taken in for questioning as to not arouse suspicion” i explained.
“Erm...”
“We have not got all day Agent Morgan” I said before turning back to face forward.
“Okay” he glanced at Hotch, who nodded, before Morgan stepped forward and pulled out his handcuffs “Hanna-Rose Black, you’re under arrest for…” he panicked before saying “For accessory to murder”. Agent Hotchner frowned before shaking his head and escorting me to a nearby black SUV.
“Mind your head” he warned as Agent Morgan slid me into the back. The handcuffs were beginning to feel a little sore on my frail wrists but I ignored it, knowing something was coming that was going to hurt a lot more.
