𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐩𝐨𝐯

Touching down in Guernsey, I could already feel the cooler air. Maybe that's just the plane's air conditioning though. I opened my eyes and went to lift my head, only to hit something above me, when I looked up, I saw his eyebrows furrow and his brown iris be revealed to my own hazel eyes.

"You sleep well?"

"Surprisingly yeah, your shoulder is pretty comfy. It's not boney like Lars or Haz."

"That's cause I work out I guess." He shrugged and gave a small smile with his eyes closed (idk how to describe but when he smiled in that one bach vlog iykyk).

"No way, you're so lanky."

"You wanna see?" He grabbed his phone out of his pocket and went to his twitter. He scrolled for quite a bit but when he flipped his phone towards me with a photo, my jaw dropped to the concrete of the airport floor.

"holy shit, I-"

"what were you saying about lanky? that was a year ago now too." I could only begin to imagine how much more muscular and toned he could be now.

"you can just ask to see, instead of hurting your little cute head about what I could look like shirtless." He poked my head when he said that and winked at me. I had never felt my face flush red harder than that current moment.

"Shut up of I'm telling Haz."

"Lips sealed!"

We got off the plane fine and began making our way to the exit, that was until Harry spoke up.

"Shit! I forgot to phone a cab beforehand."

"Harry! How could you forget that, ugh. It's fine, I'll phone my mum."

"No no, I'll call it now."

"We will be here for two and half hours waiting fro a cab, my mum lives 40 minutes away. Please!"

"Fine! Only because your mum likes me more than you so yeah! I'm going to take a piss, can you guys get me a sandwich or something?"

"I'll go to the cafe and get you something, now hurry the fuck up!" Harry nodded before rushing off in the direction of the bathrooms, I turned towards Arthur and he had a smirk on his face.

"Meeting your parents already? I haven't even asked you out!"

"Shut up Arts, people could be fans here! They're gonna think we are dating."

"shit, sorry I completely forgot about that."

"It's fine don't stress, now come with me because we have to get Harry food or he'll be more pissed off. And, I need to phone my mum now."

I grabbed my phone from my pocket and went to adjust my duffle bag on my shoulder before I felt Arthur reach around me and carefully pull it off my shoulder and onto his own. I smiled at him before quickly phoning my mum and asking her to pick us up. I grabbed Arthur's hand at this point because I was quickly weaving through the mass crowds trying to find harry's favourite airport cafe here. Once I hung up the phone with my mum, I turned to Arthur and stopped walking.

"Why did you stop walking?"

"I thought I was hurting your arm by dragging it all through this terminal trying to find the cafe."

"It's fine."

"You sur-"

"Yes, Lilee I am completely okay. Now let's find this cafe because I'm hungry now and I know you're craving a coffee."

"You just might be genius for once Arts."

"I'm gonna pretend that you didn't just say that I'm always dumb."

"You said it not me."

"I will drop your bag and leave you."

"And go where?"

"I'll call Chris."

"Fuck you!"

"You wish you could" I whacked his arm for that and grabbed his hand before walking towards the terminal and finally spotting the cafe. I lined up and ordered an avocado and chicken toastie and latte  for myself, Harry's egg and lettuce sandwich with a tea and I got Arthur a tea and a small blt. As I was about to tap my card, I felt an arm wrap around my waist and shivers shot down my spine so quick it was like light travelled. I looked up and saw Arthur's face, he smiled at me as the lady thanked him for paying.

"You guys are a cute couple, such young love."

"Oh we're-"

"Thank you, have a nice day!"

Once we walked away and towards a table, I spoke up again to Arthur.

"What was that about?"

"What was what about?"

"The lady at the register said we were a cute couple and you just went along with it."

"I'm so sorry, I uh-didn't mean to embarrass you or humiliate you at all. I'm just really awkward in those social situations and um- I uh- I just didn't want to say no and then she's all like oh I'm so sorry for assuming and blah blah. I don't know, I just wanted to go sit down really, I think I'm still tired."

"You shouldn't have come for me then, instead you could've been at the airbnb, sleeping but you're stuck in the terminal because I slept in and you felt bad."

"You were saying how good this trip would be for you. Finally seeing your mum, going back home, having this content break and just showing us all around."

"i only wanted to show you around..."

"Did you say something?"

"I uh-nope." dang it! should've just been honest. I quickly sent Harry a text of where we were and texted my mum asking how far she was. I looked up from my phone and saw Arthur struggling with the food and drinks so I quickly rushed over to help him.

"I had it you know."

"Sure you did mate."

Soon, Harry had returned and we ate our food and drinks and made our way back to the exit. I instantly recognised the ashy brunette standing outside the airport doors with her grey jumper and mum jeans on. I instantly ran to her with tears in my eyes.

"Mum! I've missed you so much oh my gosh. I can't believe it's been so long."

"Quiqui! We've all missed you too! You know we have offered for you to come down earlier but you always decline."

"It always overlapped with work."

"Work you could do here?"

The boys came over and mum gave Harry a massive hug and whilst he put my stuff into the car and got the navigator situated, I introduced her to Arthur.

"Mum this is-"

"Arthur? You're that boy that Quiqui met in the museum all those years ago! I'm so glad you both stayed in touch, she never stopped talking about you."

"MUM!"

"I'm surprised you remembered me but yes, my name is Arthur and um-no we didn't really get to keep in contact because she broke her phone BUT uh- my friend Chris was close with harry so it kind of just worked out."

"Oh well isn't that lovely! Anyways Qui, how is Larissa, it's been so long since I've seen her."

"She's good mum, on a trip with her sister at the moment."

"Such a shame she couldn't make it. Now, are you going to stay at the house or with your friends?"

"I'm not too sure right now, I'll go to the airbnb to say hi and everything but I'll call you if I need to be picked up, how does that sound?"

"Sounds perfect, oh and Harry please take this, I made some bread for you all and your mum stopped by with a cake, that way you will all have something to eat at the house!"

"Thank you Mrs Watson, they will all appreciate this!"

"Anytime Harry, now quickly the three of you in the car, we're on a schedule aren't we?"

We jumped in the car, Harry in the passenger seat because he is somehow the favourite and Arthur and I in the backseat. We just chatted whilst mum drove to the airbnb and caught up with Harry. Arthur was showing me some of his chess tiktoks that were on his fyp when an edit came up.

"Wait don't scroll, I want to see this." It was an edit of the two of us and our friendship, it was really cute! It featured the encounters at Chris' football video where we re-met and stories when we would hang out together. The sound was one in a million by Ne-Yo and I thought it was so cute so I snatched Arthur's phone and commented on the tiktok this is so cute <3 Lilee btw.

"You're such a dork."

"Whatever, it was cute."

"Yeah we are pretty cute."

"shush arthur! my mum is literally right there." The car had stopped and when I looked out, I saw this cute home, a contemporary house that looked spacious but also gave that cosy vibe. As I was about to get out, Arthur stuck his hand out and I took it, slowly stepping out of the car. He had my duffle bag on my shoulder and I quickly said bye to my mum before she left though she whispered something to me.

"Do you still like Arthur Qui?

"I don't know mum, he's great though."

"I haven't seen you this happy in a long time, give him a chance sweetie. He already treats you well as his friend. It could only become better."

"Maybe I will, I'll try talk to him sometime on this trip."

"Take him out Qui, maybe to the museum or aquarium?"

"Yeah, maybe I will. Love you mum."

"Love you Qui!" She pulled out the driveway and drove off. All I knew was that from this moment on, I fancied Arthur Frederick.
