Dex

The next thing I know someone is shaking my shoulders, Holding up a vial of pink liquid to my lips,

"Take this Dex" I shake my head.

"I'm fine" Sighing, I gather my thoughts

"I don't think I was supposed to be there... they only wanted Sophie."

They train her every day with knives and spears, they also do hours and hours of Telepathy sessions and every night they try and get her to unlock another ability while I sit in my room doing nothing... My point is they are training her for something and she believes she is doing the right thing."

After I had finished, a tall man with olive skin and dark blue eyes stepped forward offering to check my memories looking pale as he made eye contact with the woman crying earlier. A short girl with perfect brown hair and teal eyes walked forward towards me,

"So you can't remember anything?"

I looked down and became very interested in my thumbs "Not much" She came over and sat on a chair next to me "Then focus on what you do remember and we can fill you in"

I shrugged and whispered so only she could hear "I don't know who to trust"

Unfortunately, the man next to me also heard "You guys should all go home and get some rest, I think it would be good for the kids to have a sleepover at my house to catch up on something and we can sort out the problem" Most of the adults nodded while some were reluctant to leave.

*At Elwins House

All the kids in the room came up to me and said Hi, there was Fitz and a boy I didn't recognize that had messy blonde hair and wrinkled clothes. Once all the adults had left I got out of the cot I was in and we all moved to the conservatory and the roof looked like stars. The man came in and gave us a hot drink and while the others thanked him with wide smiles, I nodded discreetly, shyly, and placed my drink on the nearest table. The girl walked up to me "It's ok, that's Elwin" The blonde hair boy came over and patted me on the back

"How about we play a game" he looked at Biana and Fitz

"Whoever can get Dex to remember the most memories wins" Fitz smiled, and Biana turned back to me "How about you tell us what you can remember and we can help you remember more"

I nodded, taking a big breath. "I know my name is Dex Dizznee, I know that I am a level two at Foxfire" I pointed to her " I know your name is Biana and you were Sophie's friend" She smiled sadly. I pointed to Fitz

"I know your name is Fitz but I don't like you very much so I call you Wonderboy"

The other boy chuckled and then looked at me with a smirk "What about me"

I shook my head "That's all I remember"

His smile fell, "Nothing about your family?"

I shook my head but he looked suspiciously at me "How can you remember these punks and not your family"

My cheeks flushed and I bowed my head "I can't tell you"

All of their expression turned serious and Fitz crouched down to my eye level, "Dex this only works if you tell us everything"

The words echoed in my head everything. I started to hyperventilate and my mind raced, Alvar's words filling my mind "I can teach you everything" I snapped back to reality with Biana shaking my shoulders and saying "Call Elwin"

I placed my hand on her's "No, I'm fine"

She stepped back looking concerned and stared at Fitz who nodded, putting an arm over my shoulder and pulling me into the hallway.

"Do you not want us to find Sophie" his expression was hurt as he looked me in the eye.

I stepped back pale "Of course, I want to help her" His expression softened as he whispered "Then why aren't you letting us help you" I looked up at him with tears in my eyes "I promised...." I whispered but he snapped "PROMISED TO LET SOPHIE DIE!" He screamed and the blonde boy came racing out "Come on man, after everything he's been through" I looked at them both and pointed to the blonde guy "What is your name?" I asked softly as Fitz interrupted "That is hardly necessary" He stepped forward in front of Fitz "My name is Keefe, we were never really close friends but Sophie trusted you so I do too" His smile made me feel calmer. I took a deep breath.

" Uh, maybe I can tell Keefe but no one else"

"WHY! IF IT'S SO IMPORTANT YOU SHOULD TELL ALL OF US!"

My vision blurred and my breathing became heavy. FItz grabbed my shoulders

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO SOPHIE!"

A tear ran down his face as Keefe pushed him back,

"Back off man"

Biana and Elwin both came bursting into the room
