Dex

Sneaking around the back of the house I made my way to the circular room, I don't watch Sophie do ability training because I'm jealous. I do it because I have nothing better to do. It was quieter than usual in the courtyard as I sneaked around the corner to the window, prodding myself up on a wooden crate as I looked inside, They weren't doing their usual telepathy session they seemed to be doing something that made Sophie nervous, It was easy to tell when she was nervous because she always tugged on her eyelashes.

Tugged on her eyelashes....

Something in my brain seemed to click into place as a scene replayed in my head

The room was large with a big canopy bed in the middle Sophie and I filed in and sat on a bed, she sat down and started pulling out eyelashes and I couldn't help but wonder why, She continued pulling out eyelashes as we sat awkwardly on the bed

I picked up a scrapbook lying on her desk and opened a page filled with people dressed in the craziest costumes.

The memory blurred and I couldn't make out what happened. Eventually, it came back into focus.

"I have my own land!" I gasped looking at the book

Sophie looked at me confused so I explained "My last name is Dizznee"

My vision filled with darkness and then was immediately refiled with another memory

"That's a school?" Sophie asked as together we walked into a five-story glass pyramid, Seven towers surrounding each with different coloured stained glass. I looked at her excitedly as she continued to pull out more and more of her eyelashes....

The world snapped back into reality with Alvar my shaking shoulders, "Dex, DEX!"

I turned back to him as he asked "What's wrong?"

I rubbed my head and he picked me up carrying me to my bedroom and locking the door.

He sighed handing me a bottle of youth "You remembered something didn't you"

I slowly nodded, and he sighed looking slightly annoyed "Gosh kid you have no idea how lucky you are that I found you and not someone else"

He took a deep breath and looked at me "OK what do you remember?"

I took a deep breath looking at his blue eyes "That my last name is Dizznee, I and Sophie are friends, not siblings and..." something about Alvar made me remember something else made me remember something else.

"I know someone that looks like you.... I think I called him Wonderboy''

Alvar chuckled "Fitz, my little brother"

The name gave me another memory "And Biana we all went to Foxfire....right?

He sighed "Yeah"

He pulled out a long wooden pathfinder and a small bracelet.

"For the record, this plan was never going to work plus losing you won't do THAT much damage"

He clamped the bracelet on my wrist and fiddled with the latch on the pathfinder. "There are going to be people here that you don't know but I need you to trust them and try not to freak out ok?"

"What, where am I going? What about Sophie"

He smiled softly "Just go there and trust the people around, and I don't know tell you were taken...But DON'T tell them about me do you understand?"

I nodded slowly "I trust you" as I slowly stepped into the light letting it carry me away.

The sun bared in my eyes, My surroundings changed as pastures and a lot of colourful animals could be seen everywhere. Somewhere in the distance, the sudden sound of a bucket falling followed by a scream startled me.

"GRADY COME QUICK"

There were scattered footsteps all around me, and my heart started to race, could I trust these people? Suddenly there was a circle of gnomes surrounding me, moving in closer and closer trapping me. A sad voice made me turn around "..dex.."

It might have been the hot sun or my heart hammering in my chest but when I saw the lady's face the world went dark.
