Chapter 17

Camila stared at her reflection in the mirror as she brushed her hair. She was thinking as she brushed. She smiled when she saw Lauren enter and wrapped her arms around her waist and hugged her from behind. Lauren rested her chin on Camila's shoulder. Camila smiled with her eyes closed as Lauren kissed her cheek. She opened her eyes and met Lauren's gaze through her reflection. Lauren smiled lovingly.

"What?" Camila asked.

"Nothing," the older girl said, "You're just beautiful," she said as her smile widened. Camila smiled as she blushed. Lauren kissed her cheek again as she wrapped her arms around Camila's shoulders and hugged her tight.

"I love you, Camz," Lauren whispered. Camila felt chills running up and down her spine as she bit her bottom lip and hummed a reply. Lauren loosen her hold as the brunette turned around and cupped Lauren's face as she brought her lips down and kissed her gently. Lauren pulled away and smiled. She took Camila's hand and led her back to the room. Everyone had fallen asleep all over the floor of the room. Lauren climbed on her bed and pulled Camila with her. She wrapped her arms around Camila's waist as they drifted to sleep.

Camila woke up the next day and saw Lauren smiling at her.

"Morning," the green eyed girl said.

Camila smiled back, "Morning," she said as she sat up and looked around.

"Where's the rest?"

"They're in the living room, watching tv. We're waiting for you to wake up," Lauren said.

"How long have you guys been waiting?"

"2 hours," Lauren said with a shrug.

"What? Why didn't you wake me?"

"You look so beautiful when you sleep."

Camila felt her heart flutter. Lauren leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"I'll wait for you downstairs," the dark haired girl said before she walked out of the room.

When Camila came down, she was confused to why it was so quiet. She walked into the living room and saw everyone sitting on the couch, looking down.

"What's going on?"

Everyone kept quiet.

"Lauren?"

The older girl met Camila's gaze and gave her a smile.

"It's nothing, Camz," she said.

Camila frowned in confusion, "Are you sure?"

"Yeah," Lauren said as she stood up and took Camila's hand in hers as she interlock their fingers together.

"Let's have an adventure," Lauren said.

Camila was still confused but she went along with it, "What kind of an adventure?"

Lauren gave her a soft smile, "You'll see," she said.

Lauren walked towards her girlfriend, who stood by her motorbike as she held out two helmets. Lauren smiled as she took one and put it on Camila. She put on a strap before pulling her in for a sweet kiss. Lauren took the other helmet and wore it as she got on the bike. The others got into Normani's car and drove ahead.

"Mind telling me what you have plan?"

"Now, where's the fun in that?" Lauren replied as she started the engine.

Camila sighed, "I knew you were going to say that," she said before Lauren rode off,

"What are we doing at a diner?"

"Why else are we here? We're here to eat," Lauren said as they walked through the door.

"Where's the rest?"

"We'll meet up with them later," Lauren said simply.

The two girls ate their late breakfast before they headed out. Lauren brought her girlfriend to the park, where she held Camila's hand as they walked. Camila smiled as they walked and enjoyed the scenery.

"Okay, what's all this?"

"You'll see," Lauren said as they walked back to Lauren's motorbike.

They took a long drive before they reached the beach.

"Lauren Michelle Jauregui, you better tell me what's going on or I'll leave," Camila demanded.

"The way you say my full name... It's so hot," Lauren said, with a sly smirk as she moved closer.

Camila moved away, "No, I'm serious!"

"So am I," Lauren said with a chuckle as she moved closer. Camila moved away.

"You're unbelievable," she said as she walked away.

Lauren's smirk faded.

"You told me that you wanted someone to hold your hand for no reason," Lauren said as Camila stopped in her tracks.

"You told me that you wanted to experience watching the sunset by the beach as that someone held you close like you're the most precious thing in the world. You wanted someone to call you beautiful even though you don't believe it yourself. You wanted someone who could just be there and not talk and you'd be content because they're there with you."

Camila turned around with tears in her eyes.

"I'm trying to show you that I can be that someone. But how am I supposed to show you if you keep asking every few seconds?" Lauren asked as she looked down and took a few steps back before meeting Camila's gaze.

"I had this grand plan. Late breakfast at diner, stroll in the park, long drive, watch the sunset then eat dinner under the stars," Lauren said, "I had Ally, Mani and Dinah setup everything and now the surprise is ruin."

"You can have your dinner. You can have your sunset but you can't have me," Lauren said before she got onto her bike, wore her helmet and rode off, leaving Camila standing alone.

Camila walked on the beach and found a picnic set up nearby. There was a note on the basket.

Dear Camz

You're beautiful. You're so special. I love you so much and I hope you could see that. I know what I did was random but all I did today was for you. I love you baby.

Camila sat on the picnic mat and let the tears fall from her eyes. She looked up and watched the sun set alone. She pulled up her knees and hugged them close to her chest as she watched the sky darkened.

Not long after, she heard a few giggles and saw the other approaching her.

"Camila? Why are you here alone? Where's Lauren?" Ally asked.

"She left," Camila said sadly.

"What? Why?" Normani asked.

"I hurt her."

"What happened, chancho?" Dinah asked.

"I messed up. And now I ruined everything," Camila said.

"When I see that girl, I swear I-"

"You're not going to do anything, CheeChee."

"But-"

Camila stood up and looked at her friend, "No buts. This is my mess. I'll deal with it," the young brunette said before walking away.

Lauren Jauregui was in her room blasting 'THE 1975' album on the speakers as she painted. She let all of her emotions out on the piece. The speakers were so loud that she couldn't hear if someone was knocking on the door. Lauren stopped when she saw the door open. She looked up and her green emerald eyes met chocolate brown ones.

"I didn't know you paint," said the brunette.

"There's a lot you don't know about me," Lauren said as she continued to paint.

"Lauren," Camila tried but the older girl just ignored her. With a huff, Camila walked towards the speakers and shut it off.

"What the fuck, Cabello?!" Lauren exclaimed.

"You're ignoring me. How else was I supposed to get your attention?"

"Fine. You have my attention. So speak," Lauren said bitterly as she set down the paint brush.

"I'm sorry about the way I acted-"

"Sorry isn't going to cut it, cupcake," Lauren cut her off.

"What else should I say? I didn't mean to make you upset. I'm not good at surprises," the brunette said.

"I don't know what else to say to you, Lauren," the younger girl said, "I don't know how to do this. I've never been in an actual relationship and I've never felt this way about anyone before," she added.

"I know I messed up but please forgive me," Camila begged, "I can't handle the thought of you hating me."

Lauren met her gaze, "You think I hate you?"

"Don't you?"

"Camila, I could never hate you even if you broke my heart a million times," she said.

"Yes, I'm upset that I couldn't make the night special but that doesn't mean I instantly hate you," Lauren said as she walked towards Camila and cupped her face in her hands.

"I'm crazy in love with you," she said softly, "I love the way you smile, I love your insanely loud laugh, I love the way your eyes light up when you're excited, I..."

"I love everything about you and I can't bring myself to hate you, even if I wanted to," Lauren said.

"What did I do to deserve you?" Camila asked.

Lauren smiled, "Just be you," she said before she captured her lips with her own. Camila pulled her close by the waist as she kissed her back, deepening the kiss.
