Chapter 7
08:23, 8 December 2015Here comes a very short, cliche chapter:
Sunlight drifted through the windows, warm and buttery. When Kise opened his blurried eyes, he could see just a yellow mellowness. There was a splendid silence, like the way it always was after a hard raining. Kise felt really relaxed and exhilarated as he stretched languidly on the cool sheets.
"A~ka-shi-" Kise yawned, glancing over at the still sleeping male next to him. Akashi's face looked so peaceful, with soft golden light highlighting his face and arms. His red hair almost looked pink, just like rose petals. Kise plopped down onto the bed again, basking in the morning light. He lifted his hand into the air, watching the dust particles dance around it.
Although he was feeling great, Kise was a bit thirsty, so he sat up with a sigh and started to shift off the bed. Suddenly he heard a small muffled noise and a pale arm shot out and grabbed him.
"Stay~" Akashi murmured in a quiet, contented voice as he tried to drag Kise closer with one arm. Kise turned around to see Akashi with his eyes half open, his sleep-dulled orbs smiling kindly at him. Kise's heart was beating faster now and he slowly lowered himself back onto the bed. Akashi's arm dropped then draped casually over Kise's body. The last thought Kise had before drifting off to a warm sleep was how beautiful Akashi's dark lashes looked against his marble white cheek.
When Kise woke up again, the spot beside him was empty but still warm. Kise sat up, yawning and stretching. Looking around, he saw Akashi, already dressed in a blue sweatshirt and sweatpants, walking out of the restroom. His bangs were a bit damp, probably from a shower. Akashi strolled over silently and sat on the edge of the bed, red eyes still warm and kind as he gazed at Kise with affection.
"Ohayo, Kise," Akashi broke the silence with his smooth, soothing voice.
"Domo Akashi," Kise returned, then continued. "I'm going to go shower and dress too."
There wasn't much talking after that, but there wasn't any tension either. Just a reserved, content peace. After Kise was done with all his morning routines, he walked over to Akashi, who was checking his phone. Before he could speak, Akashi looked up and started, "Let's go for a walk."
"Fine with me," Kise agreed easily as Akashi got up.
They were now standing facing each other, near the window, where light was still filtering through. As if it were a wordless mutual agreement, their lips met in a chaste, innocent kiss. It tastes like springtime, Kise thought dazedly. It felt like a dream, almost. They pulled apart and there was again that awkward silence, their eyes not meeting each other.
"So... is this.. a goodbye?" Kise ventured, finding enough confidence to look Akashi in the eye.
"No... this is only the beginning.." Akashi decided in a whisper, his hands coming to rest upon Kise's hands.
"Someday, maybe we'll find a time to be together again. Just like this. You. Me. In a hotel room during a rain."
The pair slowly let their hands slip from each other's gentle grasp, then walked side by side out the door, leaving the room swirling with memories only the two of them could see.
Omg this is so cliche the ending, I'm sorry people who are actually reading this. Also sorry for not updating in a while. I thought I had a writer's block, but after I actually worked on it for a while it was fine, so wow. ☺ -Carolee
