Chapter 6
20:59, 13 November 2024Alex walked into the kitchen, a smile still on his face from the kiss. He couldn't believe his first date with Derek ended so well, especially since it was Derek's first date with a man at all. And the kiss.
Alex had to bite back a moan as he grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. It was like sparks lit up from inside, frying his nerves in a good way. A way he's never felt in his past relationships.
Alex pulled out his phone as he made his way upstairs. He quickly sent a text to Stella letting her know he was home safe and sound. Her reply came not even a minute later.
Be by tomorrow morning with breakfast. Want to know everything!!!!
Alex laughed, sending a thumbs up before turning off his phone, dropping it on his bed. He made his way to the bathroom, stripping out of his clothes and putting them in the hamper.
Alex took a quick shower, not bothering to wash his hair, and threw on some boxers before getting into bed. He dreamed of dark brown eyes and a big smile.

Derek laid wide awake in his bed, thinking about the date and kiss.
It was a perfect date, and that's saying something as he's been on many dates before. But it was just something about Alex, something that drew him in, that made the night so much better.
And the kiss? Oh the kiss was one of the best he's ever had. Before tonight, he's never even thought about kissing a man, and now he went on a date with one, kissed one, and even has plans to go out again with one.
Derek looked at his alarm clock. 12 AM. It shouldn't be too late back in Chicago.
Derek sat up and reached for his phone, pulling up the contact. It rang twice before it was answered.
"Hey Mama. . . I need some advice."

Alex sat in his home office, looking through this month's quarterly budget when he heard the front door open.
"Alex! Estoy aquí con desayuno y preguntas!!" (Alex! I'm here with breakfast and questions!)
Alex chuckled "En la oficina!" He yelled, trying to find where they spent 400 dollars last week and for what. (In the office).
Stella walked into the office, holding a tray with two coffees, and a paper bag. "Good Morning, Alex. Got you, your favorite" Stella set the tray on the desk, handing him the large cup.
"Gracias, Stella." Alex looked up at her with a smile, taking the coffee with vanilla creamer and two sugars "Hey do you know what the hell we spent 400 dollars on last week?" He asked, taking the bacon and egg sandwich she held out for him.
Stella tilted her head, taking a seat "Yes. We ordered a starter motor replacement for one of the cars that came in last week."
Alex nodded and marked that down. "You can ask," He said after a minute of silence.
Stella perked up. "How did it go? Where did he take you? Was it fancy, or a drive through? Did you guys kiss? Is there gonna be a second date?" Stella asked one question after another.
Alex blinked looking up from his papers and laptop, "Woah, Stell, come down."
Stella took a deep breath, but the smile was still on her face.
Alex laughed, shutting his laptop and putting the papers away. "It went really well. He took me to a family owned restaurant. It wasn't too fancy but definitely not drive through material. Yes we kissed and yes there is going to be a second date. This weekend, breakfast." Alex answered all of her questions.
Stella smiled, biting her lip to stop the squeal that wanted to come out. "God! This is so exciting! I can't believe you're going on a second date!"
Stella was so glad. Since she's known Alex, he hasn't had a relationship. One night stands? Yeah, a few but none were ever seen again. In his words I want to settle down with a great man who's going to be with me through the ups and downs. Hopefully he's found that.
"We can talk more about Derek later. Let's finish these papers and head to the shop."
Stella nodded and grabbed a file off Alex's desk. The two work silently while eating their breakfast.
