An Uchiha Is Born

———It was Sakura's birthday and this time, Sasuke didn't forget it. Unfortunately, the two weren't near any villages so he couldn't get her anything. But they happened to be near a location that he thought she'd like. Sasuke made Sakura close her eyes as he held her hand and guided her somewhere.
"Can I open my eyes yet? I don't like not knowing where I am..." she said nervously.
"In a second. We're almost there." he said as he continued guiding her.
It was very disorienting walking with her eyes closed while pregnant. She felt like everything was spinning around her. Then suddenly, she felt something unknown fall on her shoulder. She jumped towards Sasuke and gasped. "Sasuke, what was that?!" she asked worryingly. The temptation to open her eyes was growing stronger now.
Sasuke looked at her confused before noticing what scared her. "Calm down. It was a petal." he chuckled. "Open your eyes."
Hesitantly, Sakura opened her eyes...and to her surprise, they were surrounded by sakura trees. Sakura immediately smiled as blush appeared on her cheeks.
"Happy birthday, Sakura." Sasuke said.
Sakura turned to Sasuke and hugged him as tightly as possible. "Thank you so much! This is the best birthday gift ever!" she exclaimed.
Before Sasuke could hug her back, Sakura moved away from him and took a closer look at the trees. Seeing how happy and excited she looked, Sasuke activated his sharingan so that he wouldn't forget this moment...
—March 309:15 a.m.—
Ever since she woke up a few hours ago, Sakura has been cramping and been in pain. This pain was worse than anything she's felt this entire pregnancy. Sakura had to hold on to Sasuke's arm the whole day in order to walk properly. She hated this.
"Sasuke...when are we going to get there..?" she whined., "I don't think I'll be able to walk much longer..."
"In a few more hours. Please just hang on until then." Sasuke said. He was starting to get worried about her. He was trying to walk her as quickly as she'd allow him to which wasn't very fast.
—March 3011:26 a.m.—
"Stop, stop, stop...I need a break..." she said as she pushed Sasuke away and leaned against a nearby boulder. She held her stomach and held back tears.
"Do you think you can keep going?" Sasuke asked. Sakura looked a lot worse than usual...it was starting to scare him.
Sakura closed her eyes tightly and nodded. "I...I just need a break..." she said through gritted teeth, "Give me some space please..."
Sasuke stared at her for a moment before responding. "Well don't take too long...you're not doing well..." he said before walking away.
He went far enough to give her space but he was still close enough to see and hear her. As he watched Sakura, he couldn't help but feel anxious. She was sweating bullets, her breathing was irregular, and she was clearly in a lot of pain....
After a few minutes, Sakura decided that she was ready to keep walking. Not too long after they started walking again, it happened...
Sakura felt something pop inside of her before she felt warm fluids exiting his body. "Sasuke...." she said, her voice shaken with fear.
Looking over at her, Sasuke realized what had just happened. "We're almost there. Just walk a little further." he said, trying to hold back his panic.
"I'm trying..!" she shouted before tears started pouring down her face. She felt like she couldn't move any further despite how much she tried.
Sasuke did his best to get her to walk but it was difficult doing this with one hand. He sat Sakura down against a tree. "Can you wait here for five minutes?" he asked.
"I don't know!" she cried. "Are you leaving me here?!"
"I'm going to get help. You'll be ok." he said. Sasuke then kissed Sakura and ran off.
Did he seriously just leave her all alone while she's going into labor?! She knew that it would be impossible for Sasuke to move her on his own but she'd rather have him with her right now. Overwhelmed by sadness and fear, she covered her face with her hands and continued crying....
A few minutes later, Sasuke returned with two other people. When Sakura looked up, she recognized them as the people Sasuke was with a few years ago.
"Jugo, help her up and bring her to the hideout." Sasuke demanded.
Jugo helped Sakura up and began to walk her to the hideout where they stayed. Sasuke followed closely behind them and Karin walked beside Sasuke.
"When did her water break? And has she been taking any medication or food pills? Were there any issues with the baby or pregnancy?" Karin bombarded Sasuke with questions relating to Sakura and the pregnancy.
Sasuke answered all of her questions as best as he could as they rushed Sakura to the hideout....
Once they were in the hideout, Karin led them into a room that had all the supplies she needed for the birth. "Sit her down on this couch." Karin said.
Jugo did just that before backing away from Sakura. "What now?" he asked.
"Sasuke, you can stay but Jugo, you have to go." Karin demanded as she looked through a drawer with medical supplies.
"N-No! I don't want Sasuke in h-here!" Sakura shouted, "I don't want...y-you to see me like this..." she added as she wiped away her tears
Jugo left but Sasuke stood where he was and stared at Sakura sadly. He didn't want to leave her.
Karin walked up to Sasuke and put her hands on her hips. "You heard her. You have to leave." she said.
Sasuke didn't look away from Sakura as he sighed. He stayed there for a few more seconds before leaving. Once he was out, Karin turned her attention to Sakura. "How are you feeling?" she asked as she walked up to her.
"I feel h-horrible..." Sakura said, gritting her teeth a bit. "Th-Thanks for helping me."
Karin nodded. "Don't get me wrong. I'm just doing this for Sasuke." she said somewhat coldly.
Feeling a bit awkward from her response, Sakura chuckled nervously.
"I'm going to check on your dilation now and we'll see where we'll go from there." Karin said as she put on some gloves and sat next to Sakura....
Once Karin checked Sakura's dilation, Karin changed Sakura's clothes to something more comfortable and suitable for giving birth before helping her relax.
—March 301:55 p.m.—
Karin left Sakura alone to update Sasuke on their progress. When she walked out of the room, he immediately walked up to her. "She's doing good. Her contractions aren't as bad as before. She's only six centimeters dilated right now so it may take a while for the baby to get here." Karin informed him.
Sasuke nodded. "Could you ask her if I could come in?" he asked.
"She'll probably just say no. But if you want to see her that bad, I'll give you five minutes. I don't want you to stress her out." Karin said before opening the door for him.
Sasuke walked in and saw Sakura bouncing on a birthing ball. When she saw him, she stopped. "You seem to be doing better." Sasuke said as he got closer to her.
"Why are you in here?" Sakura asked.
"I just wanted to check up on you." he said. "I know you don't really want me to leave though. So let me stay..."
Sakura looked away somewhat sad. "I want you to stay but...you'll make me nervous."
Sasuke sighed and kneeled in front of her. "I'm sorry, Sakura." He pulled her in for a hug. When she hugged him back, he smiled. "If you need me, I'm right outside."
"I know...thank you, Sasuke..." Sakura said. She appreciated that he didn't try to argue with her about staying. But then she started to feel a bit scared about giving birth without him. "You could stay when the baby is coming though..." she said shyly.
Sasuke backed away to look at her. "Are you sure? I don't want to make you nervous..." he said concerningly.
"I'm sure, Sasuke..." she said as she pulled him back in for a hug. "Just...don't stare at me too much." she giggled nervously.
"I'll try." he said sweetly.
The two continued to hug for a while before Karin walked in. "Ok, times up Sasuke. Please go now." she said.
"I love you, Sakura." Sasuke whispered in her ear before leaving.
Sakura blushed and smiled as she watched him exit the room. Then she went back to bouncing on the ball.
Karin walked up to Sakura and sat on the floor in front of her. "Why do you like Sasuke?" she asked curiously.
This was a strange question for Karin to be asking her but Sakura knew that she too had a crush on Sasuke so she was probably curious. "Well...that's kind of hard to explain. We have history with each other...he knows me better than I do...he always has." Sakura said with a soft grin, "And I've always felt like there was more to him than his usual stone cold demeanor."
Karin chuckled softly. "Sasuke was cold to you too?" she asked.
"Yea...I honestly thought he hated me. He was always so rude no matter how nice I was to him." Sakura giggled.
"And the worst part is that you could be willing to give your life up for him and he wouldn't even care..." Karin said.
Sakura nodded her head. "Exactly!" It seemed to Sakura that Karin got the same type of treatment that she'd gotten....
While they waited for Sakura to dilate, the two bonded over how devoted they were to Sasuke but how horribly he'd treated them. It wasn't a surprise to them that Sasuke had treated them both badly but it was nice to connect with someone who's experienced Sasuke's problematic behavior.
—March 314:21 a.m.—
Sakura's contractions had been fluctuating from practically nonexistent to extremely pain all night. She hadn't been able to sleep for longer than ten minutes despite how exhausted she was.
At this point, Sakura was getting impatient. "Karin...can you check...how much longer..?" she whined through short breaths.
"Yea, sure. Lay down for me." Karin said as she put on her gloves. As she checked Sakura's dilation, Karin's eyes widened and she slowly stood up. "Ok...I'm going to be back...stay here." she said before running out of the room.
Sakura sighed in frustration as she rubbed her stomach. She was more than ready for Sarada to come....
Outside of the room, Karin ran up to Sasuke who was leaning against a wall. Despite being stood up, he seemed to be sleeping, so Karin tapped him on the shoulder and waited for him to look at her. "Sasuke, it's happening!" she whispered loudly.
"The baby is coming???" he asked worryingly as anxiety filled his body.
Karin nodded. "But when you go in, don't freak her out. Just stay calm and help me out with her." she said as she walked back into the room with Sasuke following closely behind her.
Once they were in the room, Karin prepared the birthing pool. "Bring her over here." Karin said as she filled the pool with some warm water.
Sasuke went to Sakura and helped her up. "What's going on? Is she coming now?" Sakura asked, slightly confused by everything going on.
"Yes. She's already on her way out." Karin said as she helped Sasuke with getting Sakura into the birthing pool. Once Sakura was in, Karin got in with her while Sasuke stood outside of the pool and behind Sakura. "Do you think you're ready to start pushing or do you want to see how far she gets on her own?" Karin asked.
Sakura thought for a moment. She wanted Sarada out already but she was kind of scared, knowing how painful it would be to give birth.
Noticing that Sakura was taking a while to answer and how hurried her breathing was, Sasuke put his hand on her shoulder and leaned closer to her. "You'll be alright, Sakura." he said.
Whenever Sasuke reassured her, she always instantly felt better. Something about his voice soothed her. Sakura took a couple of deep breaths in and out. "I can start pushing..." she said nervously.
Karin nodded as she moved closer to Sakura and moved her legs apart. "Ok...tell me when you're ready."...
As soon as Sakura was ready, she began to give birth to Sarada. Sakura screamed and cried louder than she ever had in her life. At some points, she felt like passing out or just giving up; but Sasuke did his best to make sure she'd do neither.
It was a very painful and stressful process and despite the birth feeling like it lasted hours, after ten minutes of pushing, Sarada was finally born.
Once she was out, Karin gave Sarada to Sakura. "You guys are officially parents now. Congratulations." Karin said sweetly before getting out of the pool to find scissors.
When Karin had Sarada, she had been fussy. But the second Sakura held her, she instantly calmed down. Sakura held back more tears from coming out as she held Sarada. This tiny little human was the product of Sasuke and Sakura's love for each other. Sakura couldn't feel any more proud than she felt right now.
Sasuke stared at Sarada and just like Sakura, he had to hold back tears. His heart started to beat faster and faster the longer he looked at their daughter. Right away, Sasuke already knew that he loved her.
Karin returned with some scissors and sat in front of Sakura. "Would either of you like to do the honors or should I?" she asked.
"I could do it. I don't trust that Sasuke knows where to cut." Sakura giggled as she took the scissors from Karin....
Sakura cut the umbilical cord and afterwards, Karin took Sarada to get her cleaned while Sasuke helped Sakura get changed and brought her to a room with a bed.
—March 315:07 a.m.—
After Karin finished cleaning and checking on Sarada, Karin brought her to the room where Sasuke and Sakura were staying. She handed Sarada, who was now dressed and wrapped in a blanket, over to Sakura.
"Sasuke told me what happened to you a few months ago so I checked on her health to make sure there aren't any issues with her." Karin said, "And I did find some damage to the retinas. It doesn't look too serious and she'll most likely be fine. But if her vision gets worse in the future, come see me."
This news hurt both Sasuke and Sakura to hear but at least it wasn't anything life threatening. "Thanks, Karin..." Sasuke said somewhat quietly.
Karin blushed and smiled at him. "No problem." she said happily. "If you need anything, you know where to find me." Karin waved 'goodbye' to the both of them and left the room.
Noticing how happy Karin got when Sasuke thanked her, Sakura turned to him and squinted her eyes. "Are you sure you've never dated her before?" she asked.
Sasuke gave Sakura an annoyed but uncomfortable look. "I hope you're joking." he said in a firm tone.
"Of course I'm joking." Sakura giggled. Sasuke was way too easy to tease. She then turned to Sarada and held her in a way for Sasuke to get a better look. "Isn't she adorable?"
Sasuke looked at Sarada and his expression softened. He got into the bed with Sakura and put his arm behind her. "Yea. She is." he said.
"Now you have someone who shares your family name." Sakura said enthusiastically, "How does it feel?" She turned to him and smiled.
"It feels good..." he said with a warm smile before looking into Sakura's eyes. "But it'd feel even better once you share our family name." Sasuke added.
Sakura blushed and she looked away shyly. What he said was too exciting for her to handle right now. She stayed quiet, not knowing what to say.
Taking note of her silence, Sasuke decided to get back at her for her comment regarding Karin. "Don't be embarrassed, Sakura Uchiha~" he said quietly in her ear, teasing her.
Sakura's heart stopped and she used her free hand to cover her face. She didn't expect Sasuke to say that...and the way he said it sent chills down her spine. "Sasuke...please stop..." she said nervously.
"Sorry." Sasuke chuckled as he moved away from her ear.
"Thanks." Sakura uncovered her face and looked at Sarada. "I can't wait to bring her home."
Sasuke nodded before resting his head against Sakura's. "Hopefully we can soon." he said.
The two remained silent as they admired their newborn baby. It felt surreal that they were now parents but it was definitely the best day of their lives...———
This is the end of the chapter! I hope you enjoyed!
{A/N: I'm not a doctor or anything so the whole labor process might've been a bit inaccurate but idk🙃.}
