Baby Plans

January 23:28 p.m.

———After the two got back to the hotel, Sasuke allowed Sakura to have some time to relax before he spoke to her about his concerns.

They sat on the bed, facing each other. Sakura had a feeling that she wouldn't like anything that he has to say to her. But he gave her no choice but to listen. "What did you need to talk to me about?"

"You've already been attacked twice because of me. It'll only get worse once Sarada is here and as she gets older..." Sasuke said in a sad tone.

Sakura frowned a little. "You want me to stay in Konoha with her...don't you..?" she asked with a quiver in her voice.

"It'll be safer for you both there. No one there would try to harm you." As much as it pained Sasuke to tell her this, it was for the best if they stayed in a safe, familiar place. "Sarada deserves to live a normal, happy life. Give her what I couldn't have..."

What Sasuke said really hit Sakura hard. She wanted nothing more than to be with Sasuke and Sarada, together as a family. But Sasuke was right. The world was a dangerous place...and having two Uchiha's in the same place was practically asking for trouble to start. And Sarada deserved to be able to make friends, have her own room, have a childhood...things that she couldn't have if she were traveling all the time.

Sakura recognized how selfish that would be so despite how sad she is about Sasuke's decision, she finally made the choice to put Sarada above all else...even above Sasuke. "I understand. I'll stay in the village..." she smiled softly, trying to hold back tears.

Sasuke could tell how much she wanted to cry. It broke his heart to see her put on a fake smile for him. He held out his arm, offering to hug her.

Without a second thought, Sakura crawled over to him and hugged him. When she felt him wrap his arm around her, Sakura began to cry. She was going to miss him. Despite the few complications they've had on their journey, she's never been happier in her life...

—January 29:54 p.m—

Sasuke and Sakura were lying in bed, going to sleep. But suddenly, a question popped up in Sakura's head. She turned around to face Sasuke who was already facing her. "Hey, are you still up?" she whispered.

"Hm?" Sasuke opened his eyes slightly to look at her.

"When will we get married?" she asked curiously. For some reason, she never thought to ask him this prior to now.

"Once we're back in the village. The wedding can be a 'goodbye' gift..." he said before kissing her forehead. "Now go to sleep." Sasuke then closed his eyes.

Sakura smiled and got closer to him before closing her eyes as well. Sasuke grinned as he felt Sakura and her baby bump against him. He then put his arm around her and held her close. The two went to sleep with happy thoughts.

—February 1610:30 a.m.—

Sarada's due date was approaching fast so Sasuke and Sakura had been trying to get to the village. However, since Sakura was heavily pregnant at this point, it took them a lot longer to get anywhere.

The two were currently staying in a new hotel for the day because Sakura started feeling unwell. For the majority of her pregnancy, she hadn't felt too sick besides the first few weeks. But as they approached the due date, Sakura had gotten sicker a lot more.

Sasuke was sitting next to Sakura who was lying on the couch. Sakura was hungry and had Sasuke get her food but she felt too sick to eat. She felt miserable. Sasuke rubbed her thigh in order to comfort her which seemed to be working.

As he comforted Sakura, Sasuke became lost in his thoughts. He remembered his conversation with Sakura about keeping Sarada safe in the village. It was true that they'd be safe there but then he remembered that there could be people like Danzo...

He might've just been paranoid and worrying about nothing but it was always better to be safe than sorry. Sasuke knew that if Sakura had Sarada at the hospital, the village could have her medical records. It probably wouldn't make her any safer if they didn't have her records but Sasuke wanted to take all measures possible to ensure Sarada's safety. Of course, he couldn't help Sakura give birth. But he knew someone who could...

—February 1711:50 a.m.—

Today, Sakura was feeling a lot better. The two managed to walk for a while without stopping. Seeing how much better she was doing, Sasuke wanted to bring up his idea for Sarada's birth.

"Sakura, I need to ask you something." he said as they continued walking.

"Yea? What is it?" Sakura asked.

"I want Sarada's birth to be discrete...would you mind if someone I know helped you deliver her?" Sasuke said as he looked over at her.

"Oh, I don't mind! As long as they know what they're doing." Sakura giggled. She knew that Sarada's safety was Sasuke's number one priority right now so she couldn't say 'no' to his request.

"Thanks, Sakura." he said as he smiled at her.

Sakura smiled back and nudged his arm with her elbow. "No problem!"

—March 9 7:31 p.m.—

The two were sitting in a cave that they'd found. Sakura was feeling a bit dizzy so she needed a break from all of the walking they did.

"I just got a letter back from the person who could help you deliver Sarada." Sasuke said. "She said she'll do it."

"'She' huh?" Sakura teased with a mischievous grin. She knew she had nothing to worry about when it came to Sasuke and other girls. He wasn't the type to mess around.

Sasuke huffed and looked to the side, annoyed. He knew Sakura was only messing with him but he didn't like it.

Noticing that he didn't appreciate her comment, Sakura decided to change the subject. "What do you think Sarada will be like?"

"If we're lucky, she'd be like you." Sasuke said quietly. Knowing how he was a few years ago, Sasuke felt like he was a bad person to aspire to be like.

Sakura giggled and thought for a moment before speaking, "I think it'd be cute to have a mini you. I hope she's just like you." Sakura said sweetly.

"Of course you do." Sasuke chuckled as he looked at Sakura. "I hope your obsession with me moves onto an obsession with her." he teased.

"I can multitask. I'll obsess over both of you." Sakura said happily.

Sasuke grinned and shook his head. Sakura was way too good at being supportive. He was going to miss having her with him.———
