♡ 35
23:36, 30 July 2025I lay there, under Heeseung, frozen and staring up at Sunghoon. Fuck! This looks bad, doesn't it? What should I do? What should I say? The truth! Go with the truth, because I have done nothing wrong!
"Heeseung, please remove yourself from my girlfriend." Sunghoon's voice is calm and when he bends down to help his drunk friend off of me, he seems fine.
"Sunghoon, I was just trying to get him back to his room." I rush to say. "He got drunk and Raeon left. Actually Raeon left before he got drunk, but he needed help."
"Peaches, chill out. Go back to our room, I have it from here."
I want to argue. To explain what happened, but he already has Heeseung halfway down the hall, neither of them turning back to look at me.
I go back to our room and pace. I am afraid Sunghoon is going to overreact and make something out of this. He has already asked if I was upset over Heeseung and Raeon and now he finds me like this when I should have been in our haunted room.
Haunted room. That seems silly now that I have real problems.
He doesn't return to our room for another half an hour. Is he trying to torture me?
"Sunghoon, I swear I wasn't going to his room for what you think." I begin as soon as he shuts the door.
"Y/n, calm down." He laughs, reaching for me. "I know. I trust you."
"Really?"
"Yes." He says it as if he is surprised I would think otherwise. "Did you think I was going to yell at you?"
"Honestly? Yeah."
"No." He kisses the top of my head. "Heeseung has been your friend for a long time and I don't expect you to stop just because you have a boyfriend that knows you used to write a trashy comic about him."
"That's a weird way to put that." I try to pull back, but Sunghoon keeps me in his arms. "I'm still not having sex while ghosts watch."
"I know." He nods. "Let's go to bed."
"Okay. We can find a movie." I say as I walk over to change.
"But, Peaches?" Sunghoon says as he turns down the bed. I glance over at him. "If I ever find Heeseung on top of you again, I will kill him. My understanding does have a limit."
"Noted." I nod, feeling my cheeks burn slightly.
The next morning we find that Heeseung has checked out, too. I don't ask Sunghoon if he said anything to him, anything like he said to me in the bar. And Sunghoon doesn't act like he did. He seems normal.
By the time we head back home I have almost forgotten about it completely.
"Our first trip as a couple was a success." Sunghoon says as he throws his arm around my shoulder, kissing the top of my head as we stand by his vehicle, getting ready to head home. "Not as NC-17 as I hoped for, but still a success."
"I never needed to hear my brother say that." Sohyun looks disgusted as she walks up, Jake right behind her.
"You shouldn't have been eavesdropping then." Sunghoon tells hers.
"Thanks again for the trip." Jake interrupts before the siblings start arguing. "We had fun."
"Yes. Because our trip was as NC..."
"Don't you dare finish that sentence" Sunghoon cuts her off, using his hands to cover his ears like he is four.
"We will see you back home?" I hug Sohyun, rolling my eyes at Sunghoon.
"Yeah. Make sure he drives safely."
"I will. See you, Jake."
"Bye." He waves and they turn to go.
"Hey!" Sunghoon calls out, lowering his hands. "Don't forget about Youngji's birthday party. It's tomorrow."
"Remind me again why I have to go?" She rolls her eyes as she looks back at us.
"She invited you." He shrugs. "I don't know. Heeseung, too."
"Fine." She sighs. "I am bringing Jake."
"Okay?" Sunghoon shrugs again.
"Youngji's birthday party?" I ask after we are in his vehicle, alone.
"Yeah. I told you about it..." He lies. That is something I would remember him telling me.
"No. No you didn't, Sunghoon." I cross my arms. Is this why he was so cool about the Heeseung thing? He knew that he was going to piss me off way more with lying to me?
"Okay, fine." He nods, backing out of the parking space. "Youngji is having her birthday party tomorrow night. She invited us. She is actually really excited to meet you."
"Then why didn't you tell me about it before? It is tomorrow!"
"I didn't know how to bring it up. I didn't know how you were going to react. I know you haven't liked Yougji in the past." He is talking fast now and I think I see sweat starting to form on his brow.
"I never disliked Youngji." I say, honestly. "I didn't like the fact that you ran to her when we argued. But that isn't something I held against her. Of course I will go to her party with you."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Like you said the other night, Heeseung has been my friend for a long time. Youngji is your Heeseung."
"Really? You will go and I don't have to do anything to get you to go?" He sounds shocked.
"Of course not." I laugh, shaking my head. "Wait, what were you going to get me?"
"Basically anything you wanted. But thank God you aren't complicated."
"Wait a second." I shake my hand, turning slightly in my seat. He is already smirking. "I don't think I should get punished for not being complicated when you were ready to reward me for being difficult!"
"It isn't being punished."
"Sunghoon..." I say in a warning tone, my arms crossed.
Sunghoon throws a quick glance at me before focusing back on the road, his smirk growing as he shrugs one shoulder.
"It's just that you could have milked the situation, you know? Played hard to get. Asked for a dress, or that new skincare set you were eyeing the other day. It isn't my fault you don't know how to bargain."
"I could have asked for that necklace." I say, thinking back to the jewelry store we had passed when we were walking the town yesterday. "Or maybe one of those fancy massages that cost as much as rent." Not that I paid rent in my dorm, but I hear it's expensive.
"Exactly!" He grins. "See, now you're thinking like a complicated girlfriend. I was prepared for that."
"So your plan was to bribe me into going to a birthday party?"
"To reward you for personal growth." He corrects me. "But you don't need it. You are perfectly stable. You have grown."
"You're unbelievable." I laugh. "You are just telling me to be a bitch the next time, just for the fun of it. That's unstable."
"Yeah, I have some personal growth of my own to work on." He shrugs, winking at me. "But you love me anyway."
"I tolerate you."
"Mm-hm." He reaches over to grab my hand, lacing his fingers with mine easily. "I'll still get you the necklace and the massage. Just because I love you."
