♡ 23
00:31, 22 February 2025A/n: This is short. I have a migraine, but wanted to get a chapter up since it's Friday and I don't want to throw off the algorithm, not that I know how that works.——————-
"Sunghoon!" I say, annoyed, trying to push him away. "I am never going to get the next episode for your mini series done with you wrapped around me like this."
I am sitting at his dining room table and he has somehow positioned himself behind me, his arms wrapped around me and his head on my shoulder.
"I am helping." He replies, lightly kissing my neck.
"I can assure you, that isn't helping." I try to move away, but he tightens his arms around me, pulling me even closer. "We have to go to your sister's birthday dinner soon."
"We have like an hour before we need to get ready."
"Which means we need to get this done!" I motion to the screen. "Wasn't it you that kept hassling me about this?"
"That was when I needed an excuse to get you to come here. Now your my girlfriend and it's your duty." He nibbles at my neck. "Plus, I can use my sister's birthday as an excuse for the delay. We can do this later."
"Or we can get it done now, that way we don't have to worry about it."
"We could." He nods, but his hand begins to move to my legs. "Or we could use the hour we have to relieve the stress of not having it done."
"No sex, Sunghoon!" I swat his hands before the slide under my shorts.
"Ow!" He pulls back, rubbing his hand as if I had really hurt him. "Mean."
My heart sinks slightly. I know I didn't hurt him and that he is exaggerating, but it's the face he is making. It's crazy how much he changed from being the Sunghoon who blackmailed and teased me to this.
"You are such a baby." I say, leaning in to kiss him. "How about this? Work with me on this until we are done and we will shower together before getting ready."
"But if we put this off, we will have extra time." He says and I narrow my eyes. Work with me, my guy. It's called compromise.
"I need to work on my webcomic tonight." I tell him. "I won't have time to do this."
"Your webcomic?" He asks, moving back.
"Yeah. You know about my webcomic." I am confused. He couldn't have forgotten about it. It is literally the reason we are where we are right now.
"I do. I had assumed you would stop writing it."
"Stop? Why would I stop?" I shake my head, folding my arms, leaning back against my chair. "I have readers that look forward to it."
"You have a boyfriend." He gestures to himself. "And you are writing it about you and some other guy."
"They are fictional characters."
"If that were the case, why was it such a big deal if Heeseung read it?"
I am silent for a moment.
"I can't stop writing it. I have a commitment to my readers."
"Then kill him."
"What?"
"Kill Seunghee and write me in."
"You are being absurd!" I laugh, shaking my head. "I can't kill him off. My readers love him."
"Your readers do or you do?"
"He is a drawing on a screen, Sunghoon."
"Then it shouldn't be an issue to kill him and put me there."
"Your jealousy is out of control. First Sunoo and now a literal fictional character."
I stand up, grabbing my bag.
"What are you doing?"
"I am going to go. I'll get ready back at my dorm."
"You aren't going anywhere." He moves in front of me, as if blocking me. "We aren't done discussing this."
"I am."
"I'm not."
"Listen," I sigh. "I am not killing off my fictional character in a story where I have hundreds of thousands of readers. Grow up."
"I need to grow up?" He shakes his head, rolling his eyes. "That's rich. You say he's fictional, but you writing that character is you holding onto Heeseung. You told me you were done with him."
"I am."
"But you want me to be fine with my girlfriend drawing herself having unrealistic sex with a guy based off him?"
"We are going in circles and I am done repeating myself." I say, walking past him. "I will see you at the party."
To Sunghoon's credit, he does not follow me. I go to Sohyun's and get ready there and then help Jay and Jake get set up. Jay is preparing the meal. I am not sure why she doesn't want to go out and wants a dinner party instead, but to each their own.
Sunghoon doesn't text me and doesn't speak to me when he gets there. He chooses a seat away from me when we sit down to dinner. Did he honestly feel this strongly about a silly webcomic?
If it is that silly, why not change the characters?
After the dinner and the cake where we sing happy birthday, Sohyun wants to play a game. Each person gets a numbered pair of chopsticks, which Jake has brought. Sunoo is using a random number generator and the two numbers chosen have to kiss.
A few rounds go by. Sohyun has to kiss Riki, which Jake is surprisingly fine with. Riki is the one with the problem, which Sohyun complains about. She is the birthday girl after all, it is good luck to kiss her. Or at least it is according to her.
"Four," Sunoo says, looking at me, knowing it is my number. "Twelve." He says without looking down.
I glance around, wondering who has twelve. Sunghoon is not meeting my eyes as I see a pair of chopsticks raised.
Heeseung.
