**✿❀❀✿**Chapter Four: First Kiss**✿❀❀✿**

A/N — Hii, I didn't really plan to do this but I just had to say, 100+ reads is absolutely crazy to me! Thank-you all so much for reading this and I hope you all love Sam and Jules as much as I do!(Also, I don't mind a silent reader as most of the time, that's who I am, so I do see you and I do appreciate you!!) Ta-ta for now xoxo

"I don't know, Belly.." Jules sighed, a part of herself not wanting to go anywhere, but also a part of her wondering what Sam would have to say about it. Bella had extended an invitation from Carlisle Cullen to Jules to go to his house and meet the rest of the Cullens. Jules wasn't exactly enthralled by the idea of being in a house full of Vampires whom could kill her before Jules even thought to introduce herself, but she knew how important it was to her sister that Jules met the 'family' that Bella wanted so badly to be a part of.

"Please, JuJu," Bella pouted and gave her sister puppy-dog eyes. "It means a lot to me that you're onboard with me and Edward, but"

"S'not exactly what I said," Jules muttered.

Bella continued as if Jules had never interrupted, "but I'd love you to know the real him. All of them."

"You mean, the very real Vampires that live in our town?" Jules scoffed, rolling her eyes as she folded her arms over her chest. "That's who you want me to 'get to know', as if the fact that they drink human blood to survive shouldn't mean anything to me?"

"The Cullens don't feed from humans," Bella remarked in their defence, as if that made everything okay. "They only hunt animals."

"Even you have to admit the irony of a vegetarian falling in love with an animal-eating Vampire." Bella only responded by rolling her eyes. "Can you guarantee that I will make it out of that house alive?"

"What?" Bella was visibly taken aback, looking hurt at the accusation. "Of course, I can! Don't you trust me?"

"I trust you more than anybody I know, Bells," Jules assured her twin. "However, surely you can see that being in a house full of Vampires might unnerve me, no matter how much they claim that Bambi's enough to sate them."

"I swear on everything that you will be safe," Bella said more calmly, but with a serious expression. "They won't hurt you, Ju, I promise."

Jules nodded.

—————————————————————————

"No fucking way."

Sam stood with his arms crossed, an irate and almost angry look on his face when Jules told him what Bella had asked of her. Keeping Jules safe was his number one priority at all times and her being surrounded by Vampires definitely wasn't part of the plan.

"Sam, I understand"

"Respectfully, Jules," Sam interrupted her, "you don't. Vampires are not to be trusted."

The brunette sighed, "believe me, I'm not exactly thrilled about the idea myself."

"Then, don't go." Jules looked up then and swore she saw tears in Sam's eyes for a second. "Say no, Jules."

"She's my sister, Sam," Jules sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, "it's not that easy."

"I can't protect you there," Sam reminded her. Jules nodded; she knew all about the treaty between the Cullens and the Quileute Shifters.

"I never expected you to," she countered in nothing more than a whisper. "Would you hate me if I decided to go?"

Sam felt his heart crack at the thought that she thought that he would ever hate her. Before answering her, Sam made in way over and pulled his Imprint into his arms. Jules instantly responded to his warmth, hugging him back. "I could never hate you, Juliana," Sam vowed. "I only hate that I can't keep you safe."

"I know," Jules mumbled into his shoulder. "It makes me not want to go. Knowing how much harder it'll be for you." Jules blinked tears from her eyes, hoping to keep her voice steady so that Sam wouldn't notice: of course he did. "I hate that I'm even considering putting you through this. I'm sorry, Sam."

"Don't be sorry," Sam whispered, soothingly running his fingers through her hair. "I understand that you want to make sure your sister's safe."

Despite herself, Jules chuckled. "It's kind of ironic, actually." Sam hummed to show he was listening. "Bell has never really been interested in boys before and the one time she is, he's actually dead."

"Have you?" Sam asked suddenly.

"Have I what?" Jules questioned back.

"Have you ever been.. interested in a guy before?"

Jules giggled at the sheepishness in his voice. She smiled warmly at him as she answered, "not really. But, to be fair, I go to school in Forks. There isn't exactly a 'plenty of fish' situation."

Sam smirked, "it's a good thing I'm here to change that."

Jules smiled up at him again, "you're right." Then, she shot a playful smirk his way, "Jared is pretty hot." Within seconds, Jules yelped as she felt herself lifted off the ground, nonstop-laughing as Sam tickled her sides. "Samuel Uley!" She managed out amidst her laughter. "Put me down!"

Sam smirked as he carefully lay her on his sofa, chuckling to himself as he practically threw himself beside her, sending her into another fit of laughter at the sound the sofa made as it suddenly took his weight. Neither Sam nor Jules wanted to leave each other's side that day, but both knew that Bella wasn't giving Jules much of choice. So, with the promise that she would call him the second she left the home of the Cullen's, Sam drove her up to the Treaty Line.

—————————————————————————

The Cullen's house was incredibly beautiful, there was no denying that. It was in a more secluded area that was technically just outside of Forks; Jules could only assume the need for the seclusion. Edward had picked both Bella and Jules up from their house, making the conscious decision to not drive too fast for Jules' sake (Bella was a tad relieved as well).

"If I become dinner, I'm haunting you for eternity."

"Deal," Bella agreed with a smirk, the pair walking behind as Edward led them into the house.

The rest of the Cullens were stood awaiting the girls in the hallway. Jules knew Alice, Jasper, Rosalie and Emmett from school and, of course, she also knew Dr. Carlisle Cullen from a couple visits to the hospital over the years, as well as him working with Charlie on a couple of cases.

"Hello Jules," Carlisle was the first to speak. "Thank-you for accepting our invitation."

"Thank-you for the invite, Doctor Cullen," Jules managed a small smile.

"Please, call me Carlisle," Carlisle flashed a charming smile. He then gestured to the woman beside him. "This is my wife, Esme."

"It's wonderful to finally meet you, Jules," Esme greeted with a welcoming smile of her own.

The rest of the Cullens were nice enough too, Jules supposed. She actually thinks that her and Emmett would be friends if he weren't a Vampire; his outgoing personality matched her own. Rosalie was understandably a tad skeptical, not able to see why they would have to accept another human in their lives (Jules and Rosalie were pretty similar in that aspect). Alice was a little eccentric, telling Jules how she could see people's future, albeit a bit disheartened when Jules said that she didn't want to know her future but ultimately, she could understand. Jasper was the newest to the Cullen's 'vegetarian' diet so he kept his distance which Jules was quite grateful for, honestly.

Jules couldn't find it in her to fault Carlisle and Esme, either. They seemed genuinely happy to have her (another human) in their home and were more than willing to share tales of their many years as Vampires. Especially Carlisle as Jules wasn't able to hide her interest in how a Vampire who fed on blood, was able to be around it daily, doing the job that he did.

Jules stayed with the Cullens a couple of hours longer than she expected to, but she found that as long as she didn't think about the fact that she was in potential danger every second of her being in that house, she rather liked them all. However, once she did realise the time, Jules began to make her exit. Bella had planned to stay for a little bit longer which Jules wasn't that bothered by, as she remembered that she needed to call Sam anyway to let him know that she was safe.

Sam answered after two rings.

"Jules? Are you okay?" Sam rushed out. "I was so worried."

"I know," Jules answered, sighing heavily, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stay that long." Sam didn't say anything in response. "I'm okay, Sam, I promise. Really, I'm sorry for worrying you." Again, no response. "Sam? Please don't be angry with me."

"I'm not angry." The voice came from in front of her, Jules yelped slightly, before seeing Sam in front of her. "I had to see you myself to know," he explained in response to her confusion. Jules surged forward and wrapped her arms around him; Sam didn't hesitate in responding. However, it left Sam somewhat confused when she suddenly pulled back.

Jules brought a hand up to cup his cheek, and stood up on tip-toes to pull him closer to her, connecting their lips. Now, whilst Jules had never herself experienced a first kiss, she'd read descriptions in books, but none of those did it justice. Not with Sam, anyway. Sam kissed the brunette with fervency, savouring every single moment of it. This kiss didn't last long, but it didn't need to as when the pair parted, even a blind person could sense the fondness between the couple.

"You're my everything, Juliana," Sam breathed out, speaking softly as not to disturb the serenity  they'd created.

Jules broke out into an easy smile, "and you're mine, Samuel."
