After standing outside in the warm sun for about 10 minutes, I decide to go into S.T.A.R Labs to see what Cisco is up to.

I walk inside the building cautiously and get into the elevator, pressing the button for the floor that the cortex is on.

Cisco will probably be in his workshop so that’s where I head first after getting out of the elevator.

“Cisco?” I call for him as I walk into his cluttered workshop, “Cisco?”

After realising he’s not in his workshop, I head to the cortex instead. If he’s not there either, I can use the security cameras to check the building.

I walk into the Cortex and quickly type on the computers, bringing up the security camera footage.

I quickly check all the rooms and finally find him talking with Barry in the speedlab.

“Cisco, why’d you run off like that?” I call out as I walk into the speedlab.

“Sorry, Rae,” he apologises as I walk over to stand next to him and Barry.

“So, Cisco said that the tech needed to unsplice you and Thawne is only invented in the future?” Barry asks me. I shrug.

“Yeah, that’s what Gideon told me,” I answer.

“Do you know where it is? And which year specifically?” Barry asks. I shake my head.

“I don’t know, you’ll have to ask Gideon. I’m not sure why that matters though, Thawne taking over me will be completed soon. It’s not like we can just wait 100 years or so,” I tell them.

Barry and Cisco share a look.

“What?” I ask curiously.

“Barry can time travel,” Cisco finally reveals, a large grin stretched across his face.

“Time travel?” I exclaim, “How?”

“When he runs fast enough, he can rupture a hole in the fabric of time itself, allowing him to run to any timeline,” Cisco explains. I grin, that is epically cool.

“Ok, I’m going to go talk to Gideon,” Barry tells us before speeding away. I turn to Cisco.

“So, when did he first discover he could time travel? Has he ever taken anyone with him? Can he take anyone with him? If he runs too fast will he disintegrate into just a pile of dust in a red suit?” I barrel Cisco with questions, causing him to laugh.

“Ok, one question at a time,” he says with a chuckle.

I open my mouth to speak to him when I start to get really dizzy. I quickly grasp onto the table next to me so that I don't fall over.

“Are you ok?” Cisco asks worriedly.

“Yeah, I just feel a bit dizzy,” I tell him. I feel something wet drip down my face and I bring up my hand to touch it. When I pull it away I find it covered in blood.

“Rae, you have to go to the med bay,” Cisco tells me, his eyes wide.

“Don’t worry, I’m fi…” Before I can even finish my sentence, everything goes black.

………………….

I wake suddenly with a groan, my head pounding profusely. I cautiously sit up and open my eyes, blinking a few times under the harsh light of the med bay, a place I've become too familiar with in the past few weeks.

"What happened?" I ask Cisco whom is standing next to my bed.

"You got a migraine and your nose started to bleed before you fainted," Cisco informs me.

"No, I mean with Barry and Gideon? Did she tell him the exact year and location?" I ask worriedly, biting my lip subconsciously.

"Yeah, Barry's actually going to go get it in a couple of minutes," Cisco says.

My eyes widen and I quickly jump out of bed and grab my leather jacket that is folded neatly on one of the tables, quickly pulling it on.

"Rae, you shouldn't get out of bed yet," Cisco protests but I shake my head.

"This could be my only chance to see someone travel into the future! Do you really think I want to miss it?" I exclaim as I quickly walk out of the med bay.

Cisco quickly catches up with me and leads me down to the pipeline as he explains to me how exactly Barry will get to the future.

We make it to the pipeline relatively fast and I see Barry standing by the pipeline door in his Flash suit.

“Ok Barry. Remember, you're going to the year 2140 and Argon labs,” Cisco reminds Barry, patting him on the shoulder. Barry takes a deep breath and nods.

“Ok,” he says before pulling on the mask of his suit and speeding off, running laps around the pipeline to gain enough speed.

“So, how long will he be gone for?” I ask Cisco curiously.

“Well, if everything goes right, he should return to the exact moment that he left,” Cisco explains.

I watch the computer screen closely and suddenly Barry’s tracker disappears before appearing again almost instantly.

There’s a sudden gust of wind as Barry appears in front of us, holding a fist sized machine tightly.

“Ok, I have it,” Barry says, slightly out of breath.

“How do we even use it?” I ask curiously as we start to walk back to the cortex.

“Well, you just attach it to your chest and it should unsplice you and Thawne,” Barry explains quickly. That sounds a lot easier than I imagined.

Without even realising it, we’ve already entered the cortex.

“Ok, so just attach this to your chest and press the button in the middle,” Barry tells me as he hands it to me.

I nod and quickly press it against me, wincing as its needles pierce my skin.

“You never said it involved needles!” I exclaim. Cisco shrugs.

“How did you think it would work without a blood sample?” Cisco asks. Right.

I close my eyes as a painful surge travels through my body.

“You ok?” Barry asks. I nod but don't open my eyes as everything starts to burn, causing me to gasp lightly.

“How much longer?” I ask Cisco through the pain.

“Just a couple of seconds...probably,” Cisco answers, sounding unsure.

I gasp loudly as the pain gets even worse before it stops completely. I hear a gush of wind and I feel nauseous, causing me to quickly open my eyes.

I find myself now in a large park, the sun starting to set. How did I…? I quickly whip around and find myself face to face with Thawne.

“Why did you bring me here?” I ask cautiously as I take a step back.

“Because of you my plan has failed!” he shouts, his eyes glowing red and sparks of lightning jumping off his suit. I swallow hard, he’s really angry.

“Rae,” Barry calls out suddenly as he appears next to me.

“Barry Allen. I told you we would meet again,” Thawne says with a smirk.

Barry narrows his eyes before he and Thawne start to fight each other. It’s hard to keep up with what’s happening as their streaks of lightning blurs across the park.

A blue breach suddenly opens next to me and Cisco jumps out in his vibe suit.

“Barry, I can’t get a good shot at him, you’re moving too fast,” Cisco exclaims into his coms.

“I’m gonna try and slow him down,” Barry’s voice replies after a moment. I furrow my eyebrows. How?

“How?” Cisco exclaims, voicing my thoughts, but Barry doesn’t answer as he and Thawne continue to fight each other.

“We have to do something!” I exclaim to Cisco as Thawne gets the high ground on Barry.

“You heard Barry, he has a plan,”Cisco replies, keeping his eyes focused on Barry and Thawne. I bit my lip anxiously.

“Cisco…” I say nervously as Thawne pins Barry against a tree. Cisco lets out a small shout of frustration.

“I can’t get a clear shot, we’re too far away!” he says worriedly.

I quickly close my eyes and take a deep breath as I envision Barry and Thawne’s heat signatures in my mind.

I quickly draw heat into my hand and aim it at Thawne’s heat signature before throwing it at him, causing him to let go of Barry and turn to face me.

“Great,” I whisper under my breath sarcastically.

He speeds towards me and grabs me by the neck, lifting me up in the air.

Cisco attempts to stop him but he uses his other arm to make a wind funnel that throws him through the air and causes him to hit into a tree.                   “Thawne, let her go!” Barry shouts as Thawne strangles me.

I cough and gasp for air as his grip tightens.

“Thawne!” Barry shouts again as splotches start to fill my vision.

“You lose, Barry,” Thawne growls before shoving his phasing hand through my stomach.

I gasp in pain as he pulls it out before speeding away.

“Rae!” I hear someone shout as I collapse to the ground on a pile, my vision going foggy.

I feel someone put pressure on my wound and I faintly make it out as Barry.

“...S.T.A.R Labs...Caitlin,” I faintly hear someone shouting.

I gasp for breath and my eyes close as I let the darkness overtake me.
