When we arrive at the crime scene the first thing that hits me is the smell. It is awful.

“What is that smell?” Cisco exclaims whilst I cover my mouth and nose with my sleeve.

“Samuel Curtis. He’s been dead for about 2 weeks,” Barry explains as he walks up to us.

“So, why did you only get called out now?” Cisco asks curiously, also covering his nose and mouth with his sleeve.

“Nobody noticed he was missing till now. Former microbiologist at Mercury Labs, though he was also writing a thesis on time travel.

“Time travel? Do you think Thawne did this?” Cisco whispers the last part. I swallow hard.

“Well, why don’t you take a look for yourself?” Barry says before leading us over to where the body is, covered in a white sheet, and uncovers it.

Cisco makes an odd gagging noise and covers my eyes. I quickly pull his hand away and get a brief glimpse at the body before Barry covers it back up.

Right where his heart should be is a giant gaping hole, exactly like the one a speedster causes when phasing his hand through someone.

“Yup, this was definitely Thawne,” Barry says with a small grimace.

“So, you called us here because…?” I ask curiously.

“Speedsters leave behind a trail of positive speedforce tachyons that are produced by their lightning. So, I can use my tachyon scanner and we can essentially track Thawne,” Cisco explains excitedly with a grin on his face.

I open my mouth to answer when I feel a burst of electricity run through my body and my left hand starts to vibrate. I quickly hide it behind my back.

"Umm, I'm going to go get some fresh air," I tell them.

"Sure, we'll be out in a minute anyway," Cisco says. I nod before quickly rushing outside.

The moment I’m outside, I speed into a nearby alley. It’s getting harder to control these random bursts of speed and my hand is still vibrating.

Suddenly, there’s a burst of wind in my face and Barry’s standing in front of me in his Flash suit.

“Rae? What are you doing here?” He asks, confused. I quickly hide my hand behind my back, trying not to look too suspicious.

“What are you doing here?” I counteract.

“Cisco’s tracker said there’s a large amount of tachyon particles here. We thought it was the Reverse Flash,” he answers, looking confused.

Well, he isn’t wrong.

He reaches into a pocket in his suit that I didn’t even know was there and pulls out Cisco’s tracker which is currently going crazy.

“It must be broken,” he mumbles to himself, shaking it a couple of times.

I swallow hard before he looks at me curiously.

“Rae, how did you get here so quickly?” He questions and I know he’s getting close to finding out.

“We went outside barely a minute after you. And right after you left, the tracker started going crazy…”

“Umm…I..,” I stutter, trying to think of any type of answer as he looks at me closely.

“Why are you holding your hand behind your back like that?” His eyes narrow and I can see he’s figured it out, or some of it at least.

“I…I” I stutter before my vision gets blurry and everything goes black.

………………….

"Hello, Barry Allen. Long time, no see," I growl in a voice unlike my own.

"Rae, what's going on? Why do you sound like that?" Barry asks cautiously, worry in his eyes.

"Oh, I'm not Rae. Maybe this will remind you?" I growl before speeding forward and pushing Barry against the wall.

I hold up my hand and start to phaze it, aiming it in front of his heart but making no move to stab him.

"Thawne?" Barry whispers, his eyes filling with a mixture of fear, anger and concern.

"In the flesh...well, not quite," I say with a smirk.

"How are you…?" Barry starts but I cut him off.

"In young Miss Raelynn's body? Well you see, when I stabbed her, I transferred my consciousness into her and am slowly taking control of her body.

"She's known about it for a while now but hasn't told anyone else because, let's just say I can be quite…convincing when I need to be," I say with a smirk, still holding Barry against the wall.

"Why did you do this? What's your plan?" Barry shouts angrily.

I smirk.

"Do you really think I'm just going to tell you my entire plan?" I ask.

Barry growls and lightning flickers through his eyes before he speeds out of my hold and reverses our positions, holding me against the wall now and phasing his hand in front of my chest.

" Oh Barry. You can't do anything to me because this isn't my body, it's your little friend's. Kill me and you kill her," I say with a smug smile.

Barry growls in frustration.

"Would you look at that? Little Raelynn is waking up. See you around, Barry," I say before speeding off into a familiar warehouse, leaving a very upset Barry and confused Cisco in my wake.

………………….

I wake up with a start, sweat dripping down my forehead and breathing heavily as my memories come rushing back to me.

Thawne took over my body and now the team knows. Great.

I sit up and take a look around. I'm in a warehouse that feels familiar for some reason.

"Great job, Mick. You busted the whole job," I hear a voice say from the entrance. Snart.

"It's not my fault. The fire was so beautiful," Mick retorts.

I quickly scramble to my feet as they come into view.

The moment they see me, both of them pull out their guns and point them at me.

"What are you doing here?" Snart growls at me, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Uh… I want to join you guys again," I blurt out.

They both stare at me like I'm crazy. Great.

………………….

"And why should we believe you when you say that?" Snart asks. I swallow hard.

"I'm a metahuman," I reveal to them, holding out my hand and forming a small flame in it.

Mick basically drops his gun as he walks towards me, entranced by the flame.

"So beautiful," he whispers, staring at it intently.

I extinguish the flame and Mick growls at me, causing me to take a step back.

"Easy Mick," Snart warns him.

"I'm not a dog," Mick tells him.

"Then don't growl like one," Snart retorts before turning his attention back to me.

"What about your 'Team Flash' friends?" Snart asks, still not believing me.

"They weren't very happy when they found out about my powers." Technically I'm not lying.

“I don’t trust you,” Mick says, narrowing his eyes at me. I shrug.

“Good, I don’t trust you either,” I reply nonchalantly. Snart grins at that.

“I like you, kid. Fine, you can tag along with us on a few of our jobs,” Snart says after a bit. I give a relieved sigh.

At Least I have somewhere to stay now while I try to stop Thawne. Thawne starts to chuckle in my head but I just ignore him.

“Good. Well, I’m gonna go get some Big belly burger or something,” I tell them, walking towards the door.

“Wait,” Snart says with a sigh, causing me to turn around.

“Give me your phone,” he tells me, holding out his hand. I give him a funny look but pass it to him anyway.

He types on it for a second before handing it back to me.

“What did you do?” I ask curiously, putting it back in my jacket pocket.

“I put my and Mick’s phone number on here so we can call you when another job comes up,” he tells me. I nod before continuing out the door.

………………….

I’m walking back from Big Belly Burger, finishing off the last few gulps of my iced tea when I realise I’m walking past S.T.A.R Labs. I subconsciously quicken my step, trying to get away as quickly as possible.

“Rae, Rae stop,” I hear a voice call from behind me. Cisco.

I ignore him and continue walking.

“Rae,” He calls again, his voice closer to me this time. I whip around to face him as he grabs my arm.

“Why were you ignoring me?” He questions, hurt in his eyes.

“I don’t want to hurt you or anyone else on the team,” I tell him as I take a step back.

“Why didn’t you tell us? We can try to stop him,” Cisco tells me. I shake my head.

“No, you can’t. I’ve already asked Gideon. The only way to stop him is to extract his conscience from mine and the technology to do that hasn’t been invented yet,” I tell him.

Cisco’s eyes widen a fraction as he thinks over what I said.

“Yet?” He questions softly, almost talking to himself. I nod in confirmation.

“That’s it! I need to go talk to Barry,” he exclaims before running off, leaving me slightly shocked. Well that was weird, even for Cisco.
