Gideon And Thawne's Plan

I manage to use my speed to run back to Central City relatively fast.

I stop a block or so away from S.T.A.R Labs and start to walk the rest of the way there.

I head down the elevator and start to walk into the cortex when I hear Cisco, Caitlin and Barry talking.

"... It looks like he was stabbed by a speedster. It could be the Reverse Flash or a new speedster," Barry is saying.

I peak around the wall and look at the TV screen.

"He was 28 years old and worked at Mercury Labs. Why would the Reverse Flash kill him?" Caitlin asks.

I squint as I look at the TV screen before I manage to make out the face of the person.

I gasp quietly and quickly step away from the doorway, pushing up against the wall. He's the man from the dream I had last night. I will never forget his face.

I found blood on my arm this morning. Did I... did I really kill him?

With tears in my eyes, I run down the hall and up to the seemingly normal wall panel. I press my hand against it and it slides open.

I walk into the time vault, fiddling with the USB in my pocket. I carry it everywhere with me.

I take a deep breath before taking it out of my pocket and pushing it into the side of the podium.

For a second nothing happens before there is a whirring noise and a large, blue android head hologram shows up.

"Hello Raelynn, my name is Gideon. What do you need assistance with?" Gideon asks.

"Umm...Do you know who Eobard Thawne is?" I ask curiously.

"Of course. Eobard Thawne, also known as Dr. Harrison Wells and the Reverse Flash.

He travelled back in time from the future in order to kill Barry Allen also known as the Flash," Gideon answers, her robotic voice echoing unnaturally loud in the small room.

"What is his plan with me?" I ask cautiously.

"I'm the future you are the only person capable of stopping him. He inserted his consciousness into yours so that he could slowly take control of you. Eventually, he will be in full power and you will cease to exist."

My body goes cold and I freeze.

"Cease to exist? I'm going to die?" I ask, fresh tears forming in my eyes.

"Yes, unless you can extract his consciousness from yours, you will die," Gideon answers.

"How do I extract his consciousness from mine?" I ask quietly, wiping the tears from my face.

"I'm afraid the technology you need to do that hasn't been invented yet."

I take a deep breath. It's OK, I can find some other way to stop him. There has to be another way.

"I told you not to use that USB stick," Thawne suddenly growls in my head, causing me to shriek in fright.

"Is what Gideon said true?" I ask cautiously.

"Yes, everything Gideon said is true," he replies. I swallow hard.

"Did... did I kill that man last night?" I whisper.

"You killed him with your hands but I was the one controlling you. You were not conscious or aware of your actions at the time," he explains. I furrow my eyebrows.

"Then why did I have that dream?" I ask.

"Silly girl. That was not a dream, it was simply you receiving the memory when you regained consciousness," he says.

"Why did you kill him?" I whisper, tears filling my eyes again.

"He was not needed anymore. Now, I have more business to attend to," he answers. Before I have time to fully register what he just said, everything goes dark and I feel my body drop to the floor.

When I regain consciousness, I feel myself lying on a bed. I open my eyes and sit up to find myself in my bedroom at Cisco's place.

How did I get here? All of a sudden I get a sharp headache and memories flood into my head.

I speed out of S.T.A.R Labs and come to a stop seconds later outside of what appears to be an old S.T.A.R Labs warehouse.

I speed inside and stop in front of a large object, covered by an old tarp. I rip off the tarp and it reveals some sort of round machine with a large glass panel on the front and a seat inside.

I press a button on its side and the front panel opens up. I step inside and sit down before closing the front panel. I press multiple buttons on the control panel and it starts to make whirring noises and hover above the ground slightly.

I grin before turning off the machine and speeding out. I speed straight into my bedroom at Cisco's house before I get into bed and fall asleep.

What was that weird machine? I grab a notebook and pencil from my bedside cabinet before I quickly sketch out the machine. I'll have to ask Gideon about it later.

I get out of bed and dressed into a pair of jeans, a grey t-shirt and my S.T.A.R. Labs sweater.

I walk down the hallway and into the kitchen where Cisco is making himself some fruit loops cereal.

"Hey Rae, I didn't see you at all yesterday. You said you were going to come to S.T.A.R Labs," Cisco says, "We were really worried something had happened to you."

I look down.

"I'm sorry. I just had a lot on my mind yesterday and needed some time to myself," I tell him, half telling the truth.

Should I just tell them everything? It's not like Thawne can do anything to me, he needs me alive for his plan to work.

I open my mouth to tell Cisco the truth when he interrupts me.

"We think that the Reverse Flash is back or there is a new speedster. They killed a guy at Mercury Labs the night before last," Cisco explains, "We've been searching everywhere for leads on who did it."

"What are you going to do when you find the person?" I ask cautiously.

"We'll be locking him or her in the pipeline of course. They're a dangerous murderer speedster," Cisco exclaims. I swallow hard and look down.

Ok, maybe I shouldn't tell them just yet.

......................

Cisco and I both head over to S.T.A.R Labs after stopping at Jitters for some coffee and a hot chocolate for me.

We walk into the cortex and Cisco puts down everyone's drinks on the table. Barry and Caitlin both grab their drinks and I start to sip on my hot chocolate.

"I'm going to try to recover as much of the damaged CCTV footage as I can," Cisco says.

"What CCTV footage?" I ask, trying to mask the worry in my voice.

"There was a camera in the lab where the speedster killed Charles but it was damaged pretty badly. Hopefully Cisco can recover enough so that we can find out who the speedster is," Barry explains. I swallow hard.

"If anyone can recover that footage it's Cisco," Caitlin says as Cisco walks off to his workshop. I know, that's exactly what I'm afraid of.

Everyone gets back to work, Barry speeding around the city, looking for any signs of a speedster, Cisco trying to fix the CCTV footage and Caitlin in the morgue, which I didn't even know we had, trying to get DNA off of the body.

With everyone busy, I sneak off into the time vault to ask Gideon about the machine I saw.

I walk up to the podium at the back of the room and press my hand against it.

"Hello Raelynn," Gideon says as her face pops up.

"Gideon, I need your help," I tell her.

"What do you need assistance with?" she asks. I pull the paper out of my back pocket and hold it up for her to see.

"What is this?" I ask her. A blue scanner comes out of the podium and scans my drawing.

"It appears to be a Time sphere. It has the ability to travel to any point in time," she explains. I furrow my eyebrows.

"Who made it?" I ask curiously.

"It was created by Cisco Ramon in order to allow Eobard Thawne to travel back to his time," she answers. Cisco made it?

"What does Thawne want with it for his plan?" I ask her.

"I'm afraid Eobard Thawne has told me not to tell you that," she says. I huff in frustration.

"Ok, that'll be all, Gideon," I tell her and she disappears. What am I going to do now?

"Who were you talking to?" A voice asks from behind me. I quickly whip around to see Cisco standing there.

"I wasn't talking to anyone," I lie. He eyes me disbelievingly.

"No, you were definitely talking to someone," he says as he walks past me and up to the podium. I shut my eyes tightly as he presses his hand against it.

"Hello, Cisco," Gideon says. Cisco gives a shout of alarm.

"Gideon! I thought you were destroyed!" Cisco exclaims.

"That is correct Cisco but I had a backup stored on a USB drive that Eobard Thawne created. Raelynn inserted it into the podium and here I am," she explains.

I open my eyes as Cisco turns to face me.

"How did you know about this USB stick?" he asks, narrowing his eyes ever so slightly at me.

"I found it," I say quietly. Cisco turns back to Gideon.

"What were you two talking about?" he asks.

"Raelynn was asking about the Time Sphere," she replies. I swallow hard. I want to get out of here, run away but that would only make me look more guilty.

"How did you know about the Time Sphere?" he asks. I take a step back. If I tell them they'll just throw me in the pipeline.

"Rae, you can tell me. Please?" he says in a softer tone.

"I...I...I can't tell you," I mumble, looking down at the ground.

"Why not. Is it Thawne? Did he threaten you?" he asks, his voice growing slightly angry. I shake my head.

"No, it's not that," Yes, it is, "It's complicated." Cisco sighs.

"I won't tell the others about the Time Sphere or Gideon," he says. I look up.

"Really?" I ask. He nods.

"Just know that you can tell me when you're ready, ok?" he asks. I nod.

"Great. Oh, I have more good news, I think I've managed to clear the CCTV footage enough to make out who killed Charles." Great.

......................

We're all standing in the cortex where Cisco called us together.

"Ok, here it is," Cisco says before he types a few keys on the computer and it comes up on the tv screen. I take a deep breath and take a small step backwards.

The video starts to play and I can make out my figurge in the room but my back is turned to the camera and I'm wearing a black hoodie.

I turn to face the camera and Cisco gasps.

"Wait, what?" he exclaims.

Dun, dun, dunnn!!! What's going to happen?? Sorry for the cliffhanger.
