First Hangout

Work was hectic. It's a Monday, I hate Monday's, but I'm looking forward to hanging out with Jay later. I wonder where we'll head to, probably go eat or watch a movie or just walk around Times Square. Who knows really.

"Ally!" My co-worker Sarah called me. I wonder what she wants.?

"Whats up?"

"Are you planning anything tonight? If not could you please stay at my place and sleepover? My boyfriend is working night shift for the first time and I'm kinda scared to be on my own.. you can bring Cathy!"

I felt bad rejecting her. I would love to sleepover but nothing was going to ruin my chances to hangout with Jay. "Sorry girl, I made plans already.. :/"

"...damn it. Nah its alright I'll probably stay at my moms tonight haha! I'm serious I'm so scared. But anyways.. where you headed to? I saw you put away a second pair of clothing in your locker. Are you going on a date ;)?" Sarah said slightly tugging on my shirt.

"Ha. I wouldn't call it a date. More like a hangout 'get to know you better' type of thing." I said.

"Ohh la la.. with who?!"

"His names Jay. But lemme tell you, he's a super fine ASIAN guy."

"AN ASIAN GUY? WHAT?!. Oh my gosh. Okay, spill it I wanna know everything!"

I told her every bit of detail, how we fell on each other and all that. She was so astonished because it's actually my first time meeting a guy that's from a different ethnic group. Usually I would blab about some new Hispanic dude, but this time its different. And I never been this excited to hangout after work. Usually I'd go straight home or to school when I had class.

"So his names Jay. Well I hope all goes well for you mama. Muah. Get back to work." She said heading back to her position.

- 30 minutes left -

I swear it felt like I was only working for 5 minutes. Time flew by! Yay! I'm close to hanging with Jay ^^.

As I slammed shut my locker, I checked my phone. 2 unread messages. It was from Jay.

"Hey, I'm here. I was planning on walking in but I went to Toys R Us instead >

Aww such a kid ^^. I noticed he sent a picture, he took a selfie with a stuffed Mario doll. So adorable.

"Are you still in Toys R Us?" I replied.

"I'm right out front your store. I hope its the one, its the only one I see."

I made my way out, I felt like running but he might see and think I'm desperate..

I made my way out and looked around, I didn't see him. Did he lie? I got worried.

Suddenly I felt someone tap my shoulder, I turned around and saw him holding a Mario doll over his face. I giggled.

"Oh no? Where's Jay? Mr. Mario did you happen to see Jay?" It felt wierd talking to a doll .-.

"No Miss. Ally I haven't!" He said in a high pitched voice, he chuckled as he showed his face, flashing his gorgeous smile at me.

"Oh there he is!" I laughed lightly pushing him away. "What's the doll for?" I asked. "Its for a friend, he's obsessed with Mario so I figured why not" he said playing with the toy. "Where are we headed to?" I felt like I was asking too much questions but whatever >

"I actually want to go check out the M&Ms store thats down there. Looks like its fun!" He said pointing at the M&Ms place which was only a few blocks away.

We started to walk. Times Square is a really crowded place but he managed to stay close and follow me as I lead the way. He asked me how my day at work was and I told him about the annoying impatient costumers that got on my nerve today. Then he told me about his adventure on his way to pick me up from work. Poor thing got lost to the point he gave up and took a cab.

"Oohhh!" He was amazed when we walked in. Colorful colors all over the store. M&Ms merchandise, such as key chains, mugs, handbags spreaded throughout the first floor.

"Hey look here's your name Jay" I handed him the key chain that had his name engraved on a mini skateboard, the red M&M character was holding it over his head. It was cute.

"Woahh.  This is so neat. Haha I'm gonna buy this" Then he picked up another one. "Here! It says Ally." He handed it to me, I smiled and looked at it. In fact it would look nice on my keys ^^.

"Hey I have an idea." He said as I looked up at him. "I'm gonna buy these. You keep the one that says my name and I'll keep the one that says yours. It can be a sign for our friendship :)" it wasn't a bad idea as I thought about it. I smiled widely and agreed.

"Lets check upstairs! Its just as badass as it is down here." I said as I grabbed his arm and leaded him to the escalators. I turned around and caught him blushing, I felt my cheeks get hot as I let go of him. Did I really just do that?

"Oh my gosh! So many M&Ms! In different colors, I didn't know they had M&Ms in pink?. Wow so cool!" He said as he ran and grabbed a bag then pulled down on the handle to get M&Ms.

Seeing him like this made my heart feel warm, he looked like a little kid on Christmas morning. "Oh my gosh I should so get this for my hyung!" His what?

I looked at him a bit confused as he showed me a green t-shirt that had the green M&Ms character on it doing the duck face. It had big white words on from top to bottom saying, "gimme some sugar"

I laughed and told him to go for it, I kept repeating what he had just said in my head.

"Oh my gosh I should so get this for my hyung!"

.. As far as im concerned that's what kpop idols say a lot with there members. Koreans in general. Maybe hes Korean? I'll ask later.

We walked around the whole store exploring every merchandise there was on display. We even took a picture with the employee who had his yellow M&Ms costume on. I could tell by the look on his face he was having a great time, I was having just as much fun :)

As we left the store we continued to walk around and check out other stores. Such as the Hershey store, then the Disney store. Every store we went to we came out with bags, especially Jay, he's so much fun. He had me laughing all day to the point my stomach hurt. He's really something..

Jay got hungry and insisted we go to McDonald's, I haven't had McDonald's in a while so I lead the way. We found a spot upstairs near the wide windows where the large long table was for costumers to share.

I went down and ordered him a Big Mac meal, as for me I ordered myself the 20 piece McNuggets with a diet coke. I got him a diet coke as well, then ran back upstairs.

"Mm this looks so good!. Ah yes! The Big Mac is mine right?" He grabbed it smiling as he watched me sit down. I nodded smiling back. "Yyayy!" He said opening it up and taking a huge bite.

While we ate he told me childhood stories about times he wet his pants as a kid, and times he pranked his friends. Seems like he was always a bright and cheerful person.

I was a bit hesitant to ask about what he said earlier but I was too curious. "Jay.. are you Korean?" He choked on his diet coke he was sipping and coughed a bit. I patted his back a little until he was ok.

"...y-yeah.. I'm Korean.." he looked at me a bit frightened like I was going to attack him. Whats wrong with him? He looks suspicious...

"What? It was just a question?.." I said as dipped my chicken nugget into barbeque sauce and took a small bite of it.

".. well why do you ask? Is it that obvious?" He stood staring at me. Again I felt my cheeks get hot.

"I was curious, at the M&Ms store I heard you say 'hyung' when you showed me the green t-shirt. I know for sure Koreans say that when its about their older friend or brother.. right?" He nodded.

"Its for my brother.." he hesitated. "His names S..S-s.. Shawn.." he looked down and stuffed his mouth with French fries. I laughed.

"Whats wrong with you? You'll choke again!" I said as I took a sip from my drink.

"Yah! Leave me alone! I love french fries. Say Ally.. do you know what time is it? It looks like its pretty late."

I whipped out my phone and saw that it was only 8:10p.m. I turned the phone to show him. "Oh" he shrugged his shoulders.

We finished up and cleaned up after ourselves before we left. I checked my phone again, 8:42p.m. I decided to call Cathy. Jay went and joined a crowd that was watching a man putting swords in and out his mouth in front of Ripleys Believe it Or Not. I watched too as I made the call.

"Ally! Where have you been? I'm so bored!" She said.

"I went out with a friend today.. I figured you would hangout with Bryan today?"

"No he works today remember? And who are you with? I demand to know! Who's hogging my baby!?" She said in funny tone.

I giggled. "That guy Jay.. remember I told you about him yesterday.."

".......... I don't recall a Jay. -_-"

I giggled once more while looking at Jay as he lightly smiled at me. "You were too busy smooching on Bryan so I gave up explaining. I'll tell you when I get home I'm on my way."

"Okay, hurry home hun" she hung up.

I put the phone back into my back pocket and walk towards Jay. "I think I should be heading back home.." I said as I shyly smiled.

"Mm.. just one more hour.. please. I want to see central park at night, it looks amazing in the day. I can only imagine the night." He looked at me, his eyes almost sparkling.

I agreed and caught a cab. We got in and were on our way. It was bit quiet in the cab, not that I felt uncomfortable but Jay was too busy on his phone. I saw '150 unread messages' who could be bothering him so much? A girl? Friends? His brother? He was so focused on his phone as if he was answering all those messages.

Central Park was so beautiful at night, the way the moonlight shined down upon the lake was breath taking. We were crossing the bridge and stopped at the middle and admired the view of the lake and ducks gliding throught it. I smiled then looked at him, he was already looking at me. I felt chills go down my spine. Why am I feeling this 0.0?

"Today was... awesome." He smiled. "..ohh! Look! That duck has ducklings all lined up following her. Aww, I have to take a picture!" He took out his phone and took several pictures. I looked at the ducks, indeed the duck did have cute little ducklings following it. I smiled.

*click*

Did he just take a picture of me?? "Jay? Did you just take a picture of me.?!" He chuckled and nodded. "Oh you..-" he looked down at his phone and smiled.

"You came out nice .. look" he turned his phone to let me see. I didn't come out as bad as I thought. My hair flowed down my shoulders as my hand was caressing my cheek, my smile was bright. I didn't realize my smile looked peaceful. Okay Ally, don't gas yourself up. u.u

I looked up at him again, this time he was a lot closer. How'd he move so fast? He closed the gap between us and now I literally had his face not even 2inches away from mine! What is he doing??

Our lips touched. My eyes widen. I felt like pulling away but I slowly found myself kissing him back. His lips were soft, I felt goosebumps all over my body from head to toe.

He gently put his hand behind my neck and his other hand right on my hip. He deepen the kiss tilting his head at some points, I put my arms around his neck and held on to him. It was like no one else was there, nothing else mattered, only us. This moment was... perfect.

We both slowly pulled away, our noses still touching. He stared into my eyes.. his hands still at the exact same spots, I dragged my arms down to his chest and stared back at him. Its like I couldn't move, I was paralyzed with his stare. He lightly kissed me once more and released me.

I just stood there. He grabbed his bags and mine, "let me take you home.." he said smiling and gestured me to hold on to his arm as we walk. Such a gentleman. I proceeded and held onto him, we caught a cab and headed to my place.

Again we were silent. But the atmosphere felt different, I layed my head on his shoulder as he held my hand. Playing with my thumb, almost like having a thumb war. I felt safe. This is a night I will definitely cherish forever.

The cab pulled up in front of my building, Jay walked me up to my door. He held both my hands and sighed. "I'll see you soon okay?" He looked into my eyes slightly smirking. I gave him a hug.

His eyes slightly widen he was a bit startled but he hugged my back, and tighten the hug. "Goodnight" he whispered. He let me go and I slowly opened the door as he walked back to the cab, I looked back at him as he got in and shut the door. He waved goodbye through the window as the cab drove away.

I opened my apartment door, the lights were off, Cathy probably fell asleep. I switched on the lights and saw her sitting on the couch, legs crossed, arms crossed and the most serious face I haven't seen in a while.

"I'm on my way!" She mimicked what I said to her on the phone when I called. "My ass! What's wrong with you? Where'd you go? It's about to be 1 in the morning.

I looked at the clock. 1:30a.m. damn.. but it really felt like I stayed out for one more hour though..

"I'm sorry Cathy-" she cut me off.

"You didn't even answer your phone an hour later after you called! What happened? Did it die? Why'd you lie? You haven't been answering your phone lately anyways. So why even own one if you don't answer it when people call you."

"Relax! Damn.. I'm sorry. Jay just wanted to hang out for one more hour.." I tried not to yell.

"It killed you to simply text me a 'nvm' or something? Seriously Al. What has gotten into you?"

"What are you talking about? Nothing! I'm totally fine why are you over reacting? I never do this to you when you stay out late!"

"Over reacting? OVER REACTING? You call a girl worried sake about her best friend who was out with some stranger OVER REACTING?!"

"HE'S NOT A STRANGER HE'S MY FRIEND! HIS NAMES JAY! YOU WOULD'VE KNOWN WHO I WAS WITH IF YOU HAD JUST PAYED ATTENTION TO ME THE OTHER DAY!" I didn't mean to yell but she asked for it.

"OH SO WHAT? YOU'RE SAYING ITS MY FAULT NOW? WHAT THE F-.. okay.. you know what? Forget it. I'm sorry for just caring about your safety, sorry for being an over protective best friend, I'M SORRY FOR WATCHING OUT FOR YOU."

What the hell is wrong with me.. I really should have just texted her. But I was distracted .. ugh. "Cathy.." she walked into her room and slammed the door shut. Great.
