Chapter 8

"We have what we want, let's go," Killer growls, looking at Cross, who is still staring at where Nightmare stood only a while ago. Cross snaps back into reality and turns to Killer, who has managed to force something out of Sci and is now holding a container in his hands. The others also look at him and they eventually teleport back to base, leaving a scared Sci behind. Once they appear again, Killer places the container on the table and shows it to the others. "This is some of the dark energy Sci was experimenting on to try and fix Nightmare in the past,"

The others give looks of realization as Killer continues. "Hit him with this when he's mad and it should grab a hold of that negativity and break his outer shell like paper," The smile on his face seems to widen a bit and the others smile as well. Dust chuckles a bit before speaking up, his tone a bit serious though. "Now all we have to do is find where they're hiding him," After that, silence. Cross looks down and Horror facepalms himself before anyone speaks up. "I-I'll look f-f-for him," Everyone turns to the glitched skeleton, a bit surprised he volunteered to do it.

"Really Error? Well, I guess you're the best at navigating the AUs.. sure. Why not," Killer says, looking at the others, but nobody complains, they just nod. In response to that, Error creates a portal leading to the Anti-Void. "I-If I don't find him, that m-m-means they have him at the Star Sanses b-base," He growls before entering, the portal shutting behind him. The others don't wait in silence, they start planning on what to do next. "What will happen if this doesn't work, Killer? What if one of us gets hit with it?" Horror says, glancing at the container as the dark energy tries to break free.

Killer doesn't respond, signaling he doesn't know what'll happen, so Horror lets out a sigh. "Lets just hope that doesn't happen then," At that, everyone starts thinking again. Nobody speaks for what seems like hours until Dust gets and idea. "Hey Horror, remember when Blueberry attempted to teleport with you to our base that one time?" Immediately realizing what Dust means, Horror looks at him, his eyes serious. "You want us to try the same thing, don't you?" Dust nods, and the others look at one another, considering the possibility it might work.

"What if he isn't there? What if he's off somewhere else that Error can't find?" "The chances of that are seriously slim ya know," "Yeah, I guess you're right," "Wait, why the h-ll are we bringing Nightmare back anyways?" Everyone turns to Cross, angry and confused by his response. "He treated us like pawns. We mean nothing to him so why is now any different? All he'd do is yell at us for letting it happen in the first place!" Killer is the only one that doesn't consider this, instead, he slaps Cross hard on his face.

"Do you realize he's the only reason you escaped that nothingness your AU became? He's also the reason I haven't turned normal and Chara is muted out of your head! Without him, we would have never been able to become this, what we are! True, he is a d—k sometimes, but none of us are any better, are we?" Cross looked down at the mention of his Chara, and the others glance at the two. Killer has a point, but they don't want to admit it. He sighs, and looks at Cross. "If we don't turn him back.. we're both going to fall against it,"

Cross doesn't respond. Everyone looks at him for a bit longer before looking at each other. "So, should we wait for Error, or should we get the Star Sanses attention?" Dust asks, turning to Killer. The others also turn at that and Killer realizes they're waiting for his answer,so he nods and speaks up. "We don't know if the Star Sanses are keeping him at the base, you I say we wait. We can't risk getting there and him being nowhere in sight, if we do of course," He says, looking at the others around him. The others say 'Right,' in response and Killer can tell they're declaring him in charge until Nightmare gets back.

Cross is the only one that doesn't speak, still having his eyes on the floor, growling to himself. Only Horror notices him at the moment, and he can tell why the black and white skeleton is angry. Nightmare had found a way to trap X-Chara away so the rebellious human wouldn't get in the way of Cross' loyalty to him. But just like Killer, it required him to make sure it stayed that way. If X-Chara were to break free now, he could probably take over Cross' body and make matters even worse for them at the moment. Horror snaps into reality when Cross notices he's staring and immediately looks away.

By now, Killer and Dust have decided to sit down and wait, glancing at the two still standing as they also find places to sit. What seems like hours past before a portal appears once more, Error entering with it's appearance. He shakes his head and lets out an irritated sigh as everyone looks at him. "H-He's at the f—king base," He growls, annoyance appearing in everyone's eyes. "Great, plan b then," Killer says, before getting up and giving Error a hard stare. The others get up too, all turning to Killer and Error as the two look at one another.

Error wasn't here when they talked about the plan earlier, so is expression has a tint of confusion in it as stares back at Killer. At that, Killer speaks once more. "If they want to hide Nightmare at their base, then we'll come to him," He says, his smile widening. "Well then, who's ready to have some real fun?"
