08:13, 19 November 2015"Hello Diane. Where's Rose?" The receptionist asked kindly.
"Oh, she's fallen ill today. But I've brought my daughter, Minx."
"Hello Minx. And I'm sorry to hear about Rose. Go ahead and pick a colour then have a seat wherever."
I followed my mum as she lead us back to pick out a colour. My mum picked out a dark green and I decided on a really dark maroon, to where it almost looked black, and it was matte.
"Okay, let's sit down and get the pedicure and then they'll do the manicure."
I nodded and followed before taking a seat on the massage chairs.
"So how are you and Joe doing?" My mum asked.
"Really well, yeah. He's really excited for Noah," I nodded.
"Aw that's sweet. I'm honestly so happy for you two. And Noah is going to be an adorable baby!" My mum gushed, "What was his reaction to the baby at first?"
"Like I said, he was really excited. At first I was more nervous and scared than he was!" I laughed.
"Aw. I'm assuming he wasn't planned then?"
"No, not at all. I must've forgotten to take the pill one day, because we had been safe, well I though we had been..."
"Oh well," My mum shrugged.
"Yeah, it's alright. I'm happy, but I'm nervous for labour and delivery."
"It'll be okay. It will be the most painful thing you experience, but once they put your baby in your arms, you'll forget about all of it."
"I still have a few months," I breathed.
"It will fly by though," My mum said.
"I know," I groaned.
"So, I'm taking it you and Joe are waiting until after the baby for the wedding?"
"Well, yeah. We were planning to have it before Noah arrives. But I got nervous and afraid we were moving too fast, so Joe was fine with waiting. So we have no idea when we'll have the wedding really."
"Aw, okay darling. Whatever you and Joe feel is best. Remember what I told you when you and Joe first started seeing each other."
"I know Mum," I laughed lightly.
"Just do whatever you think is best."
My mum and I talked more about Joe and I's relationship.
"Make sure you still make time for each other once the baby arrives," My mum informed me.
"Mum, I know!" I laughed.
"I'm sorry darling. I just want to make sure you and Joe are good. I miss having you at home and hearing about what's going on in your life. I know it's a part of growing up, but I just want you to know that I'm always here."
"I'm sorry. What do you want to know?" I asked happily.
"I don't know! What do you guys do everyday? Just small things make me feel closer to you and I like hearing about your days."
"Oh God," I laughed, "Well, some nights we sleep at Joe's flat and some nights we sleep at my flat, it just depends. So we get up, I shower, and then if Joe has meetings, then I'll hang out or go run errands. But if he doesn't have meetings, then we'll do all that together. It's really quite boring," I shrugged, "In the evenings we go and hang out with friends, or just stay at home, depending on how I feel."
"See, that's sweet. This is when I feel like I should ask if you two are being safe, but we can see that's not necessary," My mum laughed quietly.
"Mum!" I giggled.
"Well, it's true! And I only want to make sure you two are always safe anyways."
"Well, I don't think we'll ever make the mistake of not using protection again. Not that Noah's a mistake, well in a way I assume he was, but it's not that we don't want him or love him any less."
"I know what you mean. I was the same way with you," My mum smiled meekly.
"When you gave birth, was I premature, on time, or late?"
"You were almost a month premature. But you were healthy enough to come home the next day with me," My mum smiled.
"Is any of that hereditary?"
"I don't think so honey. It just depends on the baby and the pregnancy. What are you, almost six months along now?"
"Yeah."
"And Noah is quite big, so you could be expecting a bit premature. But it totally depends on him."
"Yeah, well, hopefully he's right on time," I shrugged.
"Are you going to breast-feed?" My mum asked.
"I don't know."
"It's better for the baby, but it's your choice."
"I hate making decisions," I groaned jokingly.
"You'll be fine. Don't stress darling."
"Once you and Joe get married, are you guys wanting to have more kids?"
"Um, I honestly have no idea. We haven't talked about it at all," I shook my head.
The nail artists had now finished our pedicures and manicures and we went back up front to pay and then got in the car to leave.
"Am I taking you back to your flat?" My mum asked.
"Yeah, go ahead, please," I smiled.
My mum turned on the radio and drove me back to my flat.
"Minx, this has been a lot of fun and I'm happy we've been able to catch up. Just be safe, okay?"
"Mum, I cannot think of a way that I would not be safe. Joe and I are excited for the baby and I wouldn't do anything to jeopardise that."
"I know darling," My mum nodded, "No drinking, right?"
"Joe's been strict about that, so don't worry!" I laughed lightly.
"Alright. Just remember I love you, okay?" My mum grinned.
"Okay, I love you too," I laughed lightly giving her a hug across the middle console before getting out of the car and going into my flat.
Upon arriving to my flat, I texted Joe:
"Just got back to my flat. What's up?"
Joe instantly read it and replied:
"Running some errands. I'll come over afterwards? ;)"
"Okay."
I decided to get changed into more comfortable clothes and then I laid on the sofa and went on my laptop on Twitter and YouTube. I noticed Joe had uploaded a vlog today, so I clicked on it.
"Hey guys! So I'm actually heading to some meetings right now! I thought you could tag along," Joe said into the camera as he got into the car to drive to his meetings.
Most of his video is just him talking into the camera about his meetings and then about us expecting Noah.
"Ah, I'm so excited. And I think most of you guys are too. Those people who aren't, please keep your opinions to yourself," Joe smiled to the camera, "Anyway, Minxie has just been doing a little bit of shopping for Noah and now I'm going to run and do some chores and then meet up with her!"
The video then jumps to another time, I'm assuming this morning.
"Hi! Sorry I forgot to vlog, so I'll just do a quick outro..." Joe trailed off as he did an improv outro and then finished the vlog.
I then looked on Twitter and there were a lot of tweets about Noah, Joe, and I. I eventually got bored and opened Netflix until Joe arrived.
"Hello!" Joe announced as he came inside.
"In here," I yawned.
"Hi baby. You okay?"
"Yeah, just a bit tired," I smiled.
"Okay. I love you," He grinned, kiasing my forehead.
"I love you too."
Joe laid down next to me and joined in watching the show.
"How was getting your nails done?"
"Nice. We just caught up a lot and chatted."
"I was thinking we could just relax this evening? I can go get a Nando's or something and we'll just hang-out here?" Joe smiled.
"Yeah, that sounds perfect. My back is hurting a bit from the baby," I nodded.
"Sit up."
"Hm?"
"Go on. Sit up," Joe nodded.
I sat up and Joe moved behind me and started giving me a back massage.
"Thank you," I hummed as he massaged my back.
"Tell me if it's too hard," Joe said.
"You're fine baby," I breathed.
After Joe gave me a back massage I turned around and gave him a kiss.
"Ew, you have cooties," Joe laughed teasingly, earning himself a playful hit on the arm.
