"Good afternoon Miss. Levins," Dr. Rosen greeted, motioning for me to sit on the examination bed.

"Hi," I said nervously.

"Relax," Dr. Rosen smiled sweetly, "So why are you here?"

"Well, my boyfriend and I went for holiday a few weeks ago, well, and we got back and I missed my period last week and I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive," I explained.

"Okay. So first off, we'll have you take another pregnancy test," Dr. Rosen nodded.

I nodded. She asked a couple more questions before saying she would ask a nurse to come in and draw some blood. After the small blood test was taken, Dr. Rosen said she would call me to let me know the results tomorrow.

"Talk to you tomorrow, Minx," Dr. Rosen smiled as I got my bag and left.

°

"Hey, how'd the doctors' go?" Joe asked, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I'll know the results tomorrow," I shrugged.

"Alright, cool," Joe smiled.

"I really don't know how to feel about all of this," I mumbled.

"I don't either," Joe said in agreement.

I gave Joe a hug and he kissed my head. We settled down on his sofa, Caspar came up and Joe and him played Fifa.

"You two okay?" Caspar asked.

"Yeah, fine," Joe answered for the both of us.

"Okay," Caspar said, not believing us.

I cuddled Joe, leaning my head on his chest as he had his arm wrapped around me and held his controller.

"Hey, I think I'm gonna head home," I said quietly to Joe, after a while.

"No," Joe whined, "Why?"

"I'm starting to move into my flat tomorrow, so I need to pack," I explained.

"Oh, okay. Want me to come over and help?" Joe offered.

"No, it's okay. I need some time to think and be alone," I smiled weakly.

"Minx," Joe whispered.

"No, it's okay. Um- I'll see you later, tomorrow?" I smiled, getting up.

"Yeah, here. Atleast let me walk you down," Joe said, pausing the game with Caspar.

"What?" Caspar asked.

"I'm going to walk Minx to her car, be right back," Joe nodded.

"Bye Minx!" Caspar said loudly.

"Bye," I smiled.

Joe placed his hand on the small of my back and we left his flat.

"Minx, everything is going to work out, okay baby?" Joe assured me.

"I know, I'm just stressing over the results," I shrugged.

"We pretty much already know the results, it'll be okay."

"Okay, I love you," I said.

"I love you too," Joe smiled, giving me a kiss.

"Alright, well I'll let you know for sure tomorrow, once I know," I groaned.

"Okay, drive safe," Joe nodded, closing the car door for me.

I nodded, before starting the car and driving home.

"Hi honey, how was your day?" My mum asked, "Want some dinner?"

"Sure, and it was good," I nodded.

"Good to hear," My mum smiled.

James dished me up some dinner and gave me a pat on the back.

"Thank you," I smiled.

"No problem, darling," James nodded.

His phone started ringing, so he walked away to answer it.

"How's Joe?" My mum asked.

"He's good," I smiled, taking a bite of dinner, "This is really good, thanks."

"No problem, and that's good to hear," My mum nodded.

I finished eating my dinner and washed my dish before heading up to my room to get in the shower.

I packed a few boxes of miscellaneous items, and clothes, before heading to bed. However, I couldn't sleep, thoughts running around my head about me actually being pregnant. Joe's right, we pretty much already know the results, I don't know why I feel like it's still up in the air.

Now, I have to decide when to tell my mum and James.

°

I woke up the next morning by my mum telling me that I need to wake up so get moving.

"Honey, you're moving out today!" My mum smiled, waking me up.

"Hm? Yeah," I mumbled, waking up.

I got out of bed and slowly got dressed, keeping my phone by me to hear from Dr. Rosen.

"Minx, let us know when you need help with the boxes, and we'll go out in a bit to buy whatever else you need for the flat," My mum smiled.

"Okay, thank you," I nodded.

I finished packing, folding up my comforter and sheets from my bed. Putting everything in boxes. I put the polaroid of Joe and I in my bag so I didn't lose it in the boxes.

"James offered to move all of your boxes to your flat while we go shopping for a bit of furniture and whatever else you need," My mum smiled.

"Okay, give me one second," I smiled, as I heard my phone vibrating on my bedside table.

My mum left the room and I waited a second to gain my composure before answering the phone.

"Hello?" I answered nervously.

"Hi, is this Miss. Minx Levins?"

"Yes."

"This is Dr. Rosen. I have your results from the bloodwork we took yesterday."

"Alright?"

"Okay, so the test came back negative, so you are, in fact, not pregnant. I'm sorry."

"Okay, um, what about the at-home test I took?" I asked shocked.

"Well, when we tested your blood there were no signs of raised hCG levels, which would definitely indicate whether or not you are pregnant. So, either the test was a faulty test, or if you happened to leave the test for too long to sit, the urine can get to the paper, revealing the result and dampen the paper to make it appear as if both lines are shown."

"Oh, okay. So I'm definitely not pregnant?" I asked.

"As far as our tests show, which have a 99% accuracy, you are not pregnant," Dr. Rosen explained.

"Alright! Thank you!" I smiled, "So what about missing my period?"

"Well, that could be a multiple of reasons. It may have been over stress, if you've been stressed. Or it could be other health reasons, that we can take a look for in another appointment. No need to worry for right now. Sometimes women just miss a period."

"Okay, thank you," I said.

"No problem. See you soon. Have a good day."

I hung up and didn't realise how much weight that was on my shoulders. I just felt so much better knowing that I hadn't gotten pregnant, from Joe and I's careless mistake.

I instantly called Joe.

"Hey, how are you?" Joe asked quietly as he picked up the phone.

"Good!" I smiled.

"What's up?" Joe asked.

"Dr. Rosen just called."

"Yeah, how's the baby?" Joe asked quietly.

"What baby?" I joked.

"Minx?" Joe asked.

"Joe, I'm not. It was a false positive! She said there were no raised levels of hCG- whatever that means- but that would indicate if I was pregnant. And I'm not!" I smiled.

"How?"

"I don't know. But she said it's 99% correct!"

"I'm sorry, but that's awesome!" Joe laughed.

"No, I wasn't ready at all," I agreed.

"Well, we'll definitely have to be more careful," Joe said.

"That's for sure!" I laughed in agreement.

I continued to tell Joe how I am going shopping with my mum for the new flat. But that he can come over later for sure.

"Ready, honey?" My mum asked, knocking on my bedroom door.

"Yes!" I smiled, getting my bag and phone.

"You're in a better mood, who was on the phone?"

"Joe," I smiled.

"You two are so cute," My mum fussed.

We got into the car and went to some stores. We got everything I would need for my new flat. We scheduled a truck to arrive later at the flat with the new furniture. I got a small sofa and chair, television, small dining table and chairs, dresser, and desk. The flat already has some necessities such as a refrigerator, stove, microwave, sinks, and toilet. My mum and James also agreed to let me take my bed to my new flat, so I had that I didn't need to get. After we got the furniture, my mum took me to another store to get stuff to put in the kitchen and light fixtures and whatever other small stuff I would need.

"Thanks Mum."

"For what, honey?" My mum questioned.

"All of this. And everything. Can I tell you something, but you have to promise to not be mad, or disappointed?" I asked.

"Alright..." My mum agreed hesitantly.

"Well, before Joe called, it was my doctor, Dr. Rosen. I went to see her yesterday, because I had missed my period and was afraid I was pregnant."

"Oh Minx," My mum said softly.

"I took a test at home and it came back positive, so I went to take one there, but it's more reliable and it was bloodwork they took. It all came back negative, so I'm not pregnant," I explained.

"Minx, I warned you two to be careful. Did Joe know?"

"Yes, and I know. That's why I was so devastated. I'm sorry. And trust me, we will be so much more careful now, trust me," I nodded.

"I do, honey," My mum smiled, "I will have to tell James. But I'm glad it was just a scare."

"Me too!" I agreed.

My mum drove us back to my flat, where James was carrying in some of the boxes.

"Thank you," I smiled to James.

"No problem, darling," James smiled, putting the last box down.

We unloaded everything from the car that my mum and I bought, all before the truck arrived with the furniture.
