Ch. 20 Two Monsters

07:44, 11 July 2021

"Those fucking assholes need to mind their own damn business," Dabi swore, sweat pouring from his face as the door swung open and he stomped into the room.

You looked up from your phone at the sound of his voice. You'd been at the League hideout all night waiting on him to get back, and for hours it had just been you and Shigaraki, not exactly the best company for passing the time. You weren't even sure why you were there other than that Dabi had dragged you along with him.

Thankfully Shigaraki had spent the hours on a video game so you'd stayed out of sight and quiet, curled up on the couch mindlessly scrolling on your phone and hoping to avoid his attention.

You had enough to occupy your brain at the moment anyway. As if life couldn't get weirder, you'd gone from telling yourself how much you hated heroes to practically making out with two of them. But between the two kisses, there was one you thought about more, one that made you blush when you remembered the rough way his hands had squeezed you, the greedy way his mouth had felt on yours... You would have loved to be in your own bed asleep, dreaming of this.

But no, you were at the League's hideout avoiding one monster while you waited for the other monster to return.

Dabi took off his jacket and threw it on the floor in anger. "Damn it, I was so close, I had all of them right there."

"I take it the mission failed," Shigaraki mumbled, not even looking up from his game.

"No, it didn't fail, I burned all of them, every last fucking one of them, but I had planned on torturing at least a few first and I didn't get to do that because of those stupid heroes."

"Sucks to be you," was all Shigaraki said.

Dabi stormed around, cursing and hitting things in the room.Meanwhile you shrank back into the couch, not wanting to be on the receiving end of Dabi's rage. But your movement only drew his attention, and Dabi's glare settled on you.

"You. This is your fault."

"Uh, what?"

He stalked over and yanked your phone out of your hands before you could stop him. "Did you tell your friends what I was doing tonight? What did you tell them?"

"Hey!" you shouted at him and tried to get it back, but he shoved you off him and started to scroll through your texts. "I didn't tell anyone anything!"

"Shut up." He read through a few more and then held the phone facing you, a text from Shoto on the screen, him asking about getting dinner together. "It wasn't enough for me to mark you as mine? What part of that didn't you understand?"

"I'm not yours!"

Dabi threw the phone down. "You're definitely not his."

"Keep it down," Shigaraki muttered. "I can't concentrate."

"Let me see it," Dabi growled at you. With both hands Dabi pushed you, your back hitting the wall with a thud. "Trying to hide my mark?" he asked as he ripped your shirt down to expose your shoulder.

When you didn't answer, he ripped the bandage off and smiled at the sight of the burn, your skin still red and angry around the edges.

"Don't want your hero friends to see it, is that it?"

"I mean, sort of?"

Dabi's hands pressed you back against the wall, his mouth going to the burn. You shivered when his tongue began to trace the outline of the flame, and Dabi must have interpreted your squirming as trying to get away because the hand on your shoulder suddenly got very hot.

"Don't you fucking move," he threatened. Dabi held you there and picked his head up to look at you, his blue eyes full of rage. "I know those heroes don't fuck you as good as I do, right?"

"Dabi, listen –" you started to say, trying to stop your voice from trembling. You wanted to be brave here, but you also didn't want another burn. Seeing him like this, knowing what he could, it was scary as hell, and no matter how much courage you had, you knew it was probably best to stay quiet. But you still needed to get him off you. Your eyes darted around for something you could grab and hit him with.

"How many of these heroes are you fucking?" Dabi sneered, his mouth going back to your mark and sucking on it. "I bet you're letting them pass you around, aren't you? Are you having fun being their little cockwarmer? Their little slut?"

"Stop it!" you said as you gritted your teeth and tried to push back on him. "Dabi, I didn't do anything!"

"I don't care," he growled. "Tonight didn't go the way I wanted, so now I need to break something. it looks like you're the lucky winner."

"Sucks to be you," you heard Shigaraki mutter again.

"You burn a building down and then are shocked that heroes show up? Are you even listening to yourself? I didn't do anything!"

"No, I'm listening for the sounds you're going to make in a moment."

"Can you two not do this here?" Shigaraki asked, still not looking away from his game.

"Were you with your heroes today?" Dabi gripped your face with one hand, his other dropping low to touch you over your clothes. "Let's see if they already loosened up that hole for me."

"Dabi. Enough."

At the sound of Shigaraki's voice, he stopped, but Dabi's fingers continued to dig into your face.

"Leave us," Shigaraki said. "Now."

You didn't think you'd ever be grateful for crazy Shigaraki but here you were.

With a grunt, Dabi let go of your face, and you slumped back against the wall. He grabbed his jacket off the floor, took one last look at you, and stomped out.

From where he sat in the chair, Shigaraki finally set down his controller, his red eyes now on you as if he were studying you for the first time.

"What's he talking about? What heroes are you fucking?"

"None! He's lying."

"Hm," Shigaraki seemed to consider that. He got up and walked over to you, picking up your phone from the floor and looking at it himself.

"Here's my dilemma, y/n. On the one hand, you could get us access to some valuable information if I continue letting you hang out with heroes. At the same time, you could end up leaking information about us to them."

"Maybe you should be nicer to me then."

Shigaraki barked a laugh. "I do like how fearless you are. You would have made a good hero yourself, you know that?"

"Are you mocking me?"

"No. Honestly, I don't think you'll leak anything, because then it would come out that you're part of the League, too. And I doubt you'd want that. You seem like enough of a do-gooder that I bet you couldn't bare the idea of people knowing you are one of the bad guys. Am I right?"

"I'm not a villain."

"Okay, whatever you say. So, what should I do with you? Want to read my mind and tell me what I'm thinking so you can help me decide?"

"Not really."

"Why not?"

"It was bad enough the first time."

"Fair point. You know, mindreading sounded cool at first but you're pretty much worthless. I'm starting to think that you're more trouble than you're worth. Maybe it's best to kill you and be done with it."

"Or I could let Dabi do it," Shigaraki continued talking to himself, almost as if you weren't even there. "He can find a new toy, he always does. He's kept you around longer than the others, I'll give you that."

"I know how we can both get what we want."

Shigaraki gave you his attention and raised an eyebrow. "I'm listening."

"You're right. I don't want anyone to know that I've been here or that I've worked for you. If you let me quit, I'm never going to tell anyone anything. We'll both get what we want. You won't have to deal with me anymore and I'll get to move on with my life."

Shigaraki crossed his arms over his chest as he stared at you.

"I thought this was the part where you offered me your body or something."

"What?"

"You know, you offer to have sex with me in exchange for letting you go."

"No," you shook your head, confused, "I didn't offer that."

"I know you didn't, I'm just saying that I thought that was what you were going to say."

"Why would I say that?"

"I would have turned you down obviously."

"Yeah right."

"I'm about to call Dabi back in here and let him have you."

"No, you're not."

Shigaraki plopped back down into his big chair and picked up his controller again to restart the game. "You know what, y/n? I like you. No matter how many times we kick you, you're still just as annoying as you were before."

"Thanks, I guess?"

"Get over here and sit down." He scooted back in the chair to make room for you in front of him.

Well, this was weird. The chair was deep enough for two people, but you didn't exactly feel like snuggling up with Shigaraki at the moment. But you also didn't want to piss him off completely, so you walked over and carefully sat down, almost perching on the edge of the chair in front of him.

"See? Annoying." Letting out an exasperated breath, Shigaraki wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you back so that you were flush against him, his legs on either side of you, your back against his chest.

"Grab the controller," he told you, nodding toward where it was on the table in front of you.

You leaned forward to get it, Shigaraki holding your waist in place so you didn't fall.

"I don't know how to play this game," you told him.

"Uh, I didn't ask you to play. You need to do a better job of listening. I thought that was your specialty."

Shigaraki brought his arms around to take the controller from your hands and leaned over your shoulder to be able to see the screen.

He turned on the game and started playing again, hardly paying attention to the fact that you were there, basically in his arms. You stayed still, unsure what was going on. This was way better than being shoved up against a wall, at least.

"Dabi!" Shigaraki suddenly called out, his shout startling you. You didn't know how Dabi would react to seeing you like this, but you also didn't want to find out. You started to stand up, but Shigaraki's hand on your shoulder pushed you back down in place.

"You're not going anywhere."

"But..."

"I said, you're not going anywhere. Dabi!" he yelled again.

A few seconds later the door slammed open. He looked like he'd calmed down a little from earlier, but the sight of you pressed against Shigaraki was enough to bring that rage back. Dabi's eyes flashed with anger as he stared at the two of you.

"She's warm and squishy," Shigaraki said, not even looking up at Dabi, "and her hair smells good. I think I'll keep her. You can find a new toy, right?"

"Fuck that. I marked her. She's mine."

"I could share her with you, I guess."

"I don't share. Go find your own whore."

"Um, hey, guys..." you tried to interrupt.

"Shhh," Shigaraki leaned forward and whispered in your ear, "the grown-ups are talking."

"Yeah, about me, so don't you think I should get to say-"

"Whch heroes do you think she's fucking?" Shigaraki asked Dabi, completely ignoring you. "Look through her phone again."

Dabi picked up your phone and started scrolling through it.

"Unclear," he said. "At least one, though. Shoto Todoroki."

Shigaraki actually stopped playing the game for a second and looked over at Dabi, seeming surprised.

"I am not," you insisted, not that they were paying attention.

"And I saw her with Katsuki Bakugo the other night," Dabi added.

"That guy?" Shigaraki said with disgust. "Hey, Dabi, wasn't he the one who-"

"Yes."

"The one who what?" you demanded.

"Personally I think it's great if she's fucking a hero," Shigaraki said, continuing to play the game with his arms around you. "We'll get the secrets they share during pillow talk and her quirk can get us anything else that's going on in their dumb little minds. Best of both worlds."

One hand left the controller and suddenly snaked up around your neck, grabbing it around the front and squeezing. Your hands instantly went to try to get his off you, but he stayed firm, pulling your neck back toward him.

Shigaraki's breath was in your ear and you cringed when you felt him pressing against you.

"Sorry, little girl, you're stuck with us. I have one job in particular that I know will suit you perfectly. Do it well and I might reconsider letting you quit. Fuck it up and well... I think you know what happens then."
