A Marine Encounter

Once the pair reached Ace's room, They entered and Luffy sat down on Ace's bed, Ace followed and sat beside his little brother

They both stayed silent for a bit

"Luffy?" Ace broke the silence

Luffy kept his head down

"Lu, tell me the truth, how did you get that scar?"

"I've already told you, Ace, I got it from a war" Luffy spoke out nervously

"I know there's more than that, Luffy" Ace crossed his arms and stared at his little brother

"I can't tell you" Luffy replied

"Why?!" Ace yelled out

"You shouldn't know about the future" Luffy answered

"But I-!"

Luffy interrupted Ace before he could complain

"You'll know in the future, Ace" Luffy sighed

Ace stayed silent

"I'm tired, goodnight" Luffy laid down and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow

Ace sighed and pulled the blanket over his little brother

He sat beside Luffy's sleeping figure and got lost in his thought process

The next morning Thatch was walking towards Ace's room to wake him up for breakfast and then try to find the rubber boy, he didn't exactly ask Ace where he had assigned his little brother to sleep, so he was also going to ask him after waking him up

He knocked on the door

"Ace, wake up! Breakfast is ready!" Thatch called out

There was no response

'Huh, that's weird, normally he would instantly wake up at the mention of food'

He knocked again

"Ace?" He called out again

No response

Thatch sighed "I'm coming in, Ace!"

Still no response

Thatch walked into Ace's room to find quite an adorable sight

Luffy was curled up beside Ace and one of the older brother's arm was thrown over the younger boy

You could hear the soft snores coming from the both of them

Thatch couldn't help but coo at the sight, the sibling pair looked adorable

He took out a camera from his pocket that he had acquired earlier from Izo and took a picture of the brothers, 'This will be great blackmail material for Ace' he thought while silently snickering

Once was done taking the picture, he shook Ace to wake him up

"What?!" Ace screamed as he sat up

Thatch chuckled "Nothing, just wanted to tell you that breakfast was ready and ask you where your brother was, but I guess that second part isn't necessary anymore"

"Ugh, we'll be there in five minutes" Ace groaned as he stood up and scratches his head

"Alright!" Thatch walked out of the room, picture hidden in his pocket, he had to show Pops this adorable picture!

As soon as Thatch left the room, Luffy groaned

"Morning, Lu" Ace called out from the bathroom, man it was great to be a commander, having your own room and bathroom

"Mornin' Ace" Luffy replied, still a bit sleepy

"Brush your teeth and we can go get breakfast" said Ace

Luffy instantly woke up "Food!" he screamed out as he ran over to brush his teeth

Ace just chuckled 'Still the same ol' Luffy'

They washed up and Luffy was about to run out of the room until Ace nabbed him by the neck of the cardigan

"Change your shirt first, Luffy" said Ace as he threw one of his shirts to Luffy

"Fineeee" Luffy whined but put on the shirt regardless

They both walked over to the galley

Once they reached the galley, they both grabbed some food and Ace lead them to the commander's table, there were only a few commanders and Whitebeard seated there at the moment

"Morning!" Haruta greeted

"Morning" they both replied before starting to eat from the giant pile of breakfast

Thatch finished his tasks in the kitchen and sat down beside Luffy

"Geez, you're like a second version of Ace" Thatch teased

"Well, what do expect they're both D's" Vista commented

Marco just sighed and sipped his coffee

The commanders chatted for a bit until the brothers finished their food

"Hey brat" Marco looked towards Luffy

"Yeah?"

"I might found a way for you to get back to the future" Marco informed while putting his coffee down

"Really!?" Luffy exclaimed

"Yes, we just need to go Kurosu-Jikan island and try to find a place close to where you were when you crossed times and wait for it to happen again" Marco explained

"It's that simple?" Whitebeard asked

"It's what the books say, people from the past said to have traveled like this in-between times, I'm not sure if it's true that it'll work, we'll just have to test it." said Marco

"MARINE ATTACK!"

They all turned towards the door and ran out to the deck to find two marine ships on either side of the Moby Dick, on deck a fight between the marines and the Whitebeard's had already started

The commanders quickly joined the fight and Whitebeard went to sit on his chair

Luffy had been forced by Ace to stay by Whitebeard's side, despite all of the protests from the young boy

Luffy pouted and sat down on Whitebeard's armrest

Whitebeard merely chuckled at the rubber teen

The fight went on for a while with the marines clearly loosing

Luffy enjoyed watching the fight but, wanted to fight as well

He huffed and looked towards his big brother

Ace was fighting a few low tier marines and sending fire blasts to one of the marine ships

Luffy pouted again, Ace was having so much fun without him!

His pout quickly faded when a vice-admiral covered his sword in haki and went straight for Ace

Luffy didn't know what happened but the next thing he knew, he was behind Ace and a sword was impaled into his stomach

He let out a wave of conquerors haki and the marines all fell to the floor unconscious, along with some pirates

He looked down and ripped out the sword that was stabbed through his stomach

It honestly didn't hurt that much, Crocodile's hook was much worse than just a simple sword

He threw the sword to the ground and turned around to find Ace wide-eyed, staring at his stomach

"LUFFY YOU IDIOT!" Ace screamed out

"Uh, what's wrong?" Luffy tilted his head confused, why was his brother mad?

"WHY THE HELL DID YOU TAKE THAT HIT FOR ME?!" despite his harsh words, Ace was panicking and extremely worried checking Luffy's wound

"It's nothing, Ace" Luffy said calmly "Don't worry about it, it just a little prick"

"Luffy! Your bleeding all over the place! Do not say that it's just a little prick!" Ace was still panicking

By this point some nurses came over and practically dragged Luffy into the infirmary, Luffy complained but Ace quickly shut them down with a harsh glare

Whitebeard starred as Luffy was dragged into the infirmary

"Did the brat just use conqueror's haki?" Marco came up to Whitebeard

"He did" Whitebeard stroke his mustache

"He's an interesting brat, that's for sure! Gurararara" Whitebeard laughed
