2. teenagers scare the living shit out of me
19:40, 11 August 2022Clemency went over to Steve's house after what she heard, as Steve's about to leave, and Clemency looked at him, confusedly, wondering where the guy might be going, with flowers in his hand, but shrugged it off as she approached him.
"What are you doing here?" Steve asked, bewildered, as he closed the door to his house.
"I believe you... like, actually believe you this time." She says as Steve walked past her and onto his car, as Clemency followed him. Steve opened the door for Clemency, then onto the driver's seat, going inside the car, and looking back at the girl sitting next to him.
"Why do you wanna tell me that all of a sudden?" He says as he starts the car. Clemency did not want to tell Steve that she saw Jonathan and Nancy at their house and that Nancy's telling Barb's mom what actually happened to her. So, she just lied to him instead.
"No reason..." She says, looking out the window.
"Oh, why do you have roses, by the way?" She asked, now looking at the roses.
"For Nancy." He said as he continued driving, and Clemency nodded.

As the two reached Wheeler's residence, they walked out the car and on the way to the house, when a familiar voice suddenly called out.
"Steve!" The two turned their heads and saw Dustin as he approached them.
"Are those for Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler?" He asked, pointing at the bouquet, as Clemency and Steve's eyebrows furrowed, looking at the boy.
"No." Steve responded, as Dustin snatched the roses from Steve, startling Steve.
"Good." He says, but then stopped and looked at Clemency.
"It's an important matter, and I don't think you can bring her..." Dustin whispered to Steve, as if Clemency could not hear them, when she could, loud and clear.
"And also, Nancy isn't here." Dustin added.
"I think we should bring Clemency along because..." Steve said and paused as he looked back at Clemency.
"She knows a few things..." Steve says as Dustin's eyes widen, mouth agape.
"You're crazy! She'll be in grave danger-" Dustin exclaimed, as Clemency went in and cut him out.
"If my family's getting involved in some kind of danger or something, I think I should know, right?" Clemency says as a matter-of-factly, as Dustin rolled his eyes at her.
"Alright, alright, you can come with us... Also, Steve, do you still have that bat?" Dustin says, as Clemency looked at him then on Steve, confusedly.
"Bat? What bat?" Steve asked the boy looking back at him as he opened Steve's car door.
"The one with the nails?" Dustin says as Clemency looks at Steve with her eyebrows furrowed.

On their way to Dustin's place, he explained what was all the fuss about, and that there might be a creature in his house, in which Clemency was flabbergasted about. Even Steve questioned if it really is a monster, or maybe it's just a lizard, but it turns out that the creature ate Dustin's cat.
As the three got out of the car, Steve got the bat out and they approached the storm shelter. Steve lightly started poking the door using the bat, but nothing seems to react to the noise he is making.
"All right, listen, kid. I swear, if this is some sort of Halloween prank, you're dead." Steve says, pointing the flashlight on Dustin's face, as Clemency pushed his hand down, taking the light off of the kid's face and glared at Steve.
"It's not a prank!" Dustin argued, as Steve decided to open the door to the storm shelter, and peeked inside.
"He must be further down there. I'll stay up here, in case he tries to escape." Dustin says as Steve looked over to him, and sighed as he went down there all by himself.
"You want to know stuff, right?" Dustin continued, looking at Clemency as she looked at him, confused, as Dustin pointed inside.
"I think you should follow him there." Dustin says, as Clemency furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head, when Steve suddenly pointed his flashlight back towards the two.
"Get down here."
The two did as told, and went down the storm shelter, and Steve showed them a skin type of thing with wet substance in it that he held with his bat, as Clemency grimace, and Dustin looked at it, mouth agape.
"Oh, shit." He says, then Steve pointed the flashlight at the corner of the room, a few bricks were removed and something made a huge hole, and the same wet substance surrounded it.
"Oh, shit!" Dustin repeated as the three walked closer and looked at it.
Steve pointed the flashlight inside, and the hole seemed so deep, Clemency gasped and Steve looked over to her.
"Is this enough proof, Clemency?" He asked her, as she looked at him, eyes widened and mouth agape.

As the three put on bait for the creature, Steve talked to Dustin, and gave him love advice, on what he should and shouldn't do. While Clemency is trying not to laugh because she knew damn well Steve is so wrong, well, for the most part.
As they reached the junkyard, Lucas arrived with Max Mayfield. The girl helped them set up the things they needed. "Hey, you're Hargrove's sister, right?" Clemency asked, as the girl looked at her with a stern look.
"Step sister, actually." Max replied as Clemency nodded in response.
"Do you believe them? You know, with the monster's and shit." She added, as Clemency raised her eyebrows at her.
"Well, sort of, but I won't fully believe unless I actually witness one." Clemency responded as the girl agreed.
Steve started pouring gasoline on the lump of meat he set up, and all the way to the front of the door step of the bus they will be hiding in, and as they finished and see if everything is done, they went in the bus and waited for sundown.
When the time finally came, they all heard growling which startled all of them.
"Is that the monster?" Clemency asked as Dustin, Steve and herself looked out the window. "Yes. Do you guys see him?' Dustin asked, as they scanned the area, but it was hard to see because of the fog and the dark.
"Lucas, what's going on?" Dustin called out for Lucas who's on the roof with Max. "Hold on!" He responded, and looked around the area with his binocular, as Max looked around with him.
"I've got eyes! Ten o'clock! T-ten o'clock!" He stuttered out as he saw it hidden in the fog.
Steve is confused as to why the thing is not taking the bait.
"Maybe he's not hungry?" Dustin thought.
"Maybe he's sick of cow..." Steve says as he backed away from the window, and thought of the dumbest idea, and walked off. "What are you doing?" Clemency asked, worried and confused, as Steve went to the bat and grabbed it, while Dustin's calling out for him.
"Just get ready." He sternly says and throws the lighter at Dustin who looked at him then at Clemency, mouth agape.
The two watched, as Steve slowly walked away from the bus, swinging his bat, and looking around for the creature. Max went down from the roof, in a hurry, as Clemency looked over to her.
"What's he doing?" Max asked, she looked at a nervous Clemency, then at the window. "Expanding the menu." Dustin says.
Just as they thought Steve got a hold of the situation, they were so wrong as there is actually more than one creature, there is more, as Lucas saw through his binoculars. "Steve, watch out!" He exclaimed, as Steve kept his focus in only one of the creatures, as Clemency looked over at the side, and saw more of them then looked back at Steve nervously.
"Three o'clock! Three o'clock!" Lucas yelled out, as Steve turned his head to look on the side, and there he saw another, a bit nearer to him. Dustin ran to the door and called out for him, "Steve! Abort! Abort!"
Steve looked over to Dustin nervously, then back at the creature in front of him, as it approached him, the same as other ones, and he fled from his current position, rolled over one of the cars, as the creature attacked him. He swung his bat at one of them, as all of the kids and Clemency called out for him. And as soon as Steve reached the door, Clemency reached out her arm and quickly grabbed Steve and pulled him inside, as the kids quickly closed the door in front of one of the creatures as it launched itself at them.
They hurriedly covered the front door, as they felt the bus shake from the attack, and all of them looked around them, scared and worried, as they suddenly got startled by the arm of the creatures, reaching from the front door, and Steve hit it with his bat.
As the other four got away from the door, Clemency looked up, and noticed the open roof and gasped.
"Shit! The roof- stay away from the roof!" She exclaimed, as she quickly pulled Max away from it, just as the creature peeked inside, and they all screamed, and Clemency quickly grabbed a revolver, which startled the other four.
"You have a gun, this whole time?" Steve yelled.
"I forgot, all right?" She yelled back, not taking her eyes off the creature.
Pointing the gun at the creature, Clemency got a good look at it which petrified her, but it suddenly changed its focus, and looked towards a different direction. The thing growled, then left with the rest of the creatures that attacked them.
They were all confused as to why the creature suddenly left. Steve went out, a bit hesitant still, and looked around for the creatures, but they were all just gone.

As the group walked through the same train tracks, they talked about Dustin's pet, Dart, who turns out to be one of the creatures that attacked them.
"...he's gonna eat a lot more than just cats." Steve says, say all of them stopped walking, and Lucas stopped Dustin, looking at him in disbelief.
"Wait, a cat? Dart ate a cat?"
"No, what? No." Dustin says, clearly lying.
"What are you talking about? He ate Mews." Steve remembered, confused. As Dustin widened his eyes at him.
"Yeah, you even said he was tiny and he suddenly became big..." Clemency added as Dustin glared at her.
"Mews? Who's Mews?" Max asked. "Dustin's cat." Steve responded. Then the kids started fighting over it, about not following their party's rule, and that Lucas shouldn't have told a stranger, Max, the truth, in which upon hearing this, Steve and Clemency looked at each other and pursed their lips, but then Steve heard something and walked off as the kids kept arguing.
Clemency just shook her head at the sight of the kids, when Steve suddenly yelled at them, which startled her and looked in his direction.
They all followed Steve just as he walked towards the sound. They walked over the edge of the cliff, and looked for the creatures, but could not see them, so Lucas used his binoculars to look. Turns out the creatures are on their way to the Laboratory.
As they approached their way to the lab, they heard a voice yelling, "Who's there?" Reaching the lab, it turns out Jonathan and Nancy are there as well, and they all share a confused look towards each other.
"Steve? Clemency?" The two asked, with knitted eyebrows. "Jonathan? Nancy?" Steve and Clemency asked as the group approached each other.
"What are you doing here?" Nancy asked the group, as Steve's eyebrow furrowed. "What are you doing here?" Steve asked back.
"We're looking for Mike and Will, and why is Clemency with you guys?" Nancy asked, looking at Clemency, awkwardly looking at her sister, pursing her lips, but then her eyes widened upon realizing what Nancy just said and looked at her.
"You're looking for Mike? In there?" Clemency asked, worried as she pointed towards the lab. "They're not in there, are they?" Dustin asked, as the two looked at him, worriedly.
"We're not sure..." Nancy looked at them with furrowed eyebrows. "Why?" Jonathan added, as the sounds of monsters screeching caught their attention, and all of them looked over at the lab, knowingly.

As the group talked amongst themselves, the lab caught Clemency's attention as the power went back, so she tapped Nancy's shoulders, as she looked at her, then onto the lab, as her eyes widened.
"The power's back." Nancy told everyone, and they hurried towards the gate, and Jonathan ran to the guard booth, and pressed on the door, but it won't open still. Both him and Dustin started pressing, then it eventually slid open, and Jonathan and Nancy brought the car with them and drove inside, as the rest waited. And eventually, two cars came and sped towards their way, and Chief Jim Hopper's car stopped in front of them.
"Let's go!" He says, hurrying the group inside his vehicle, and they immediately left the premises.
