Chapter eleven

Rosa's POV

I shouldn't have shouted at Ethan but it's hard, having to dig up the past. I've already been in the hospital a while. I've spoken to Dr Charles. He's the hospital psychiatrist. I've worked with him a few times, helping me with mentally ill patients. He's also helped me cope with my bipolar, anxiety and depression. After a few hours of being in hospital I'm notified that my dad was in custody. I feel relieved. After what he did to me, he deserved it. I know it's a long time coming but he can't hurt me anymore. I'm discharged and Connor takes me home.

Connor's POV

I take Rosa home. I didn't want her being on her own. Not after this. When her second boyfriend got arrested she stopped taking her meds and had quite a few manic episodes. I didn't want that to happen again. Sectioned, again.

We walk into her apartment and I sit down. Rosa goes and gets changed. She comes back wearing some black leggings, an oversized chequered shirt, some pink fluffy socks and she had put her hair up into a ponytail. She sits opposite me and we talk.

'What made you get a job at the ED?' I ask her.

'I'm a trauma surgeon.' She replies.

'You wanted to work with children. What happened?'

'I completed a rotation in paediatrics as you know, but when I completed a rotation in the ED and trauma, I found my calling.'

'Just as long as you take your meds. Shall we order some takeaway?' She nods and we fish out some menus from a kitchen drawer. We decided to go for pizza. 'What you having?' She just looks at me. 'Right. Silly question. Full meat and fries. Classic crust?' She nods and we laugh. We call up the pizza place and our dinner arrives in just over half an hour. Rosa pours a glass of wine and I warn her. 'Don't go too overboard!' I know she does that when something goes wrong.

'Chill. It's just the glass. I'm back at work tomorrow. Remember?' I nod and we sit and eat. I leave at 10pm to go home.

'It's wonderful to see you all the time again Rosa.'

'Yeah.'
