JAMIE'S POV

It was a short drive to the police station , the entire time I couldn't control my tears , they just kept streaming out . I took a deep breath as stepped out of the car , everywhere I looked there was police officers watching my every move once again .

" Inside please " The officer who I now knew as DI Bascombe said firmly as a buzzer opens the door

I step through the door into the police station and as soon as I stepped through the door the place was filled with noise . I stood nervously on the cross on the floor that I had been told to stand on .

" Sarge, this is Jamie Miller . He's 13 years old and he's been arrested on suspicion of murder " The detective said to the man who was sat across a booth

" Okay , Jamie can I have your full name please son " The sarge asks me

" I didn't do it " I splutter out

" That's not to do with me Jamie just try and answer my questions please son " he replied

" It Jamie Edward Miller " I say i between sniffles

" And have you had your rights explained to you , Jamie " He says although I wasn't really listening , there was so much noise and I felt as if everyone was staring at me .

" What " I say as I come back into reality, he then repeats the question for me .

" Okay will you be wanting a solicitor " He then asks

" Yeah " I speak up looking at the floor to try and avoid eye contact

" okay and do you have a solicitor or do you want the station to provide one " he asks

" I don't know , I don't think so can you ask my dad , please " I ask , just thinking of my dad made me crave his comfort just that much more

" Yeah, so because you're a juvenile you need to be supported by an appropriate adult . Now would you like that to be one of your parents? " He asks but I wasn't really focusing on what he was saying .

" I'd like my dad please " I reply quickly

" Okay , next business son , are you fit and well " He asks staring at me

" Yeah " I reply

" Okay , I am at 6:31 authorising your detention so that the officers can preserve evidence by questioning you about the offence you are suspected of " He spoke like he was reading it from a piece of paper .

Just as the officer finishes talking I see my Dad , Mum and sister all behind this glass door , my Dad shouting out to me but I couldn't really make out what he was saying .

" Can- can I go to them " I ask

" Jamie we just need to process you here , okay the sooner we do this the sooner we can bring your dad in " He says which just gets rid of any hope of me being in my parents comfort

The guy continued to talk at me but all of the information just went in one ear and out the other , it was almost like a cloud was covering my ears to prevent me from hearing properly.

" follow me " Another officer said so I started to follow along behind him

DI BASCOMBE'S POV

" oh fucking hell how much do you want a cigarette right now " My detective partner asked me

" don't start me off mate " I reply with a loud sigh

" Have you had anything from upstairs yet " Misha asked

" Ah , just comma , wanting to know what to release and when . Still no further detail on that girl yet though " I say

" Mh-hmm " She says as she removes her police vest now leaving her in just her regular clothes

" You worried about the Dad " I question , having a weird feeling about him .

" The Dad " she replies , clearly confused

" Mhmm , our main priority is finding out who this girl is ' I say before getting up and leaving

ALANNA'S POV

The day of school had finally come to end much to my relief , I was now at home talking to Jade properly for the first time since everything had happened as we called on facetime .

" Where were you , you know when it happend" Jade asked , you could see the tears stains around the rim of her eyes .

" I wasn't with her , she walked off after we got into an argument over my brother " I say , a look on sadness on my face but in reality I didn't actually feel any emotion whatsoever

" Your brother ? " Jade questions , I had yet to fill her in on all of the new details of my life .

" erm yeah , he came out of prison the night Katie was killed , he came to pick us up and Katie didn't want to get in the car so I kicked off " I explain and in that moment I could sense a bit of disappointment of her face .

" oh right yeah , look i've got to cause my Mum is calling me down " She lies , I can tell it was a lie because her whole house was silence . And from meeting her mum quite a few times I knew that if she was shouting for her I would definitely be able to hear it .

" oh okay , see you at school tomorrow " I ask it was more of a question though because she hadn't actually confirmed if she was coming in or not .

" erm yeah " She says before hanging up the phone .

Jamie's arrest was the talk of the whole town , I couldn't go anywhere without hearing his or Katie name . It was like I was almost being haunted with the events of that night .
