Me and Katie walked the short distance to the fair , both of us bubbling with excitement after talking about the most recent gossip that was within four year . Just the normal sort of conversations .

The fair looked like it had exploded across the field - lights , colours , people everywhere. I tugged my blazer tighter around me as the evening breeze started to pick up , carrying the smell of candy floss can fired onions right to where me and Katie were stood . Everything buzzed , like the ground itself was humming .

Me and Katie stuck closely together , our arms tightly linked as we weaves through the crowds . The lights was what made everything seem unreal - too bright , too fast and my heart was racing like i'd already at too much sugar . We passed a booth where giant teddy bears swung lazily in the breeze , and for a second I wanted to win one even though there was most definitely no room in my bedroom for something the size of that .

The crowded space was filled with students from our school , you couldn't go anywhere without be faced from someone that you knew . Someone bumped into me , I looked up to see the eyes of Jamie Miller once again . He was with his two friends , Ryan and Tommy both of whom Katie didn't not take a liking to .

" Watch where your walking Miller " Katie shouted out as Jamie hurried along past us , obviously trying to avoid the wrath of Katie .

As soon as me and Katie saw our favourite ride we quickend our walk to try and reach the line before the queue became filled with school children .The thrill of being in the air was like it's on sort of drug which filled my body up with adrenaline.

We started to walk out of the fair and across the road to head into town .

" Have you seen Jamie's insta post " Katie asks with a little giggle escaping her mouth .

" Let me look " I reply pulling my phone out of my blazer pocket and scrolling along to instagram and Jamie page .

The photo was a picture of Jamie , Tommy and Ryan which must of only been taken earlier since it displayed the fair in the background. I then clicked on the comments where the first user that came up was Katie's , she had commented to emojis . A dymanite and a blue pill , maybe those things wouldn't mean much to other people but in our generation it meant a lot more than just two random emojis . Nearly a hundred people had liked Katie's comment in a matter of minutes, that was pretty much our whole year group . Our whole year group that was agreeing with Katie's horrible comment about Jamie .

" Come on Katie why did you have to say something like that " I ask her which was definitely not the reaction she was expecting out of me .

" Even you agreed Alanna that he and him friends are and absolute weirdos " Katie said now laughing louder

" Yeah but that is a bit far no " I say thinking that she  would maybe agree , even slightly but there was nothing suggesting that .

" Lighten up , let's just go get some food " Katie says dragging me through the streets and towards our local mac donald's

We enter macdonald's which was one of the only places that me and Katie actually went to as we were too broke to be able to go anywhere else .

We quickly ordered our food and sat down with it , both of us now wanting getting tired after the long week at school which was always draining . My phone started vibrating in my pocket , thinking that it was mum but when I took it out of my pocket it was a unsaved number .

" Who's that " Katie says looking down at my phone

" I don't know , probably just some random scam caller " I say putting my phone back away and going back to my food . Straight away my phone started ringing once again so that's when I knew that it wasn't just a random scam caller it was someone actually trying to get rid of me . This time when I looked at my notifications I noticed that there was message from the same number that had just phoned me twice . " pick up you phone idiot " The message read .

There was only one person that I knew called my idiot but I couldn't actually believe that this person was calling me or how they were calling me .

" Katie I will be back in two minutes I just need to go to the toilet " I say completely lying but it wasn't like Katie was actually going to say anything

" Okay but please be quick " Katie says as she gets her phone out and starts to snap people on snapchat .

I rush towards the toilet , quickly pulling out my phone and dialling the number .

" Hello " I say quietly still unsure on who was on the other side of the line .

" What's up idiot " I heard the voice of my older brother on the other side of the line .

" Jayden is that you " I ask wanting to confirm that it was actually him .

" What you can't recognise your big bros voice now" He replies and I can't practically hear his smirk  through the phone .

" You weren't supposed to be getting out for months though " I say , still surprised with the whole situation that was playing out right now .

" Yeah well they let me out early innit , but that doesn't matter your big brother is home " He screams down the phone which makes me crack a smile .

" Well where are you now " I ask curios

" Just driving around , i'll come and pick you up if you want" He says

" can you take home my friend Katie aswell ? " I question hoping the answer would be yes .

" course " I replies

" Okay pick us up in an hour at the car park near school please " I say not waiting for reply and just handing up the phone and heading back to Katie .

" Finally you're back " Katie says looking relieved to see me , although I really hadn't been that long .

" My mum's going to pick us up in a hour " I say as I sit down back in my seat

The reason why I didn't tell Katie that it was actually my brother coming to pick us up because she was always a bit funny when I started talking about him and I didn't want to have to deal with her being in a strip for the next hour .

" okay perfect " She says as we both get out of our seats and head for the doors .

" Jamie Miller is actually so weird " Katie said out of nowhere which only lead me to believe that he has posted something else

" What's he done now " I say starting to get annoyed at the amount of times Jamie's name was coming out of her mouth .

" whilst you were in the toilet , Jamie was just stood there watching me " Katie said with a look of disgust on her face

" oh that is weird " I say , not really that bothered with what was happening.

" Jamie just gets weirder and weirder every day " Katie mumbles which only makes me sigh
