Chapter 8, nail polish

-Teaching Zero to read and write with Stanley had been going really well. Zero had been really frustrated after we had a "therapy" type of group session. We were supposed to talk about our feelings and stuff, but everybody just goofed around during the sessions. 

Mr. Pendanski had been trying to get a reaction out of Zero the whole time.

I was talking to Zigzag beside my hole after we got water from Mr. Sir. We weren't really paying attention to anything else, we were just telling jokes andlaughing. 

We were laughing so hard I almost fell into my hole, luckily Zigzag reached for my hand and pulled me back up. 

"Woah, be careful." he told me while standing up.

I heard Mr. Sir's truck drive away, so, I stood up too. I was about to grab my shovel when Magnet held up a bag of sunflower seeds, Mr. Sir's sunflower seeds.

"Hey guys, want any sunflower seeds?" Magnet smiled.

We all started cheering as he passed them around. The excitement ended quickly though.

"He's coming back!" Magnet yelled.

"Hey, catch." Zigzag said as he threw the bag to Stanley. It feel and all the seeds tumbled out, making it obvious there were sunflower seeds there.

"Opps, butter fingers." Zigzag said in a sarcastic tone. 

"You better hide them." we all told him. 

Stanley started puching the dirt around trying to cover the seeds. It was rushed and didn't work well. He threw himself over his hole trying to cover it again.

It was too late though, Mr. Sir was getting out of his truck and slammed the door. He was looking at all the holes to see who had his seeds, when he saw Stanley's he rushed over. 

"Well, well," Mr. Sir mockingly said "how did this get here."

"What?" Stanley tried to hide it from Mr. Sir. 

"How, did this get there? Did it fall from the sky, huh?"

"No." Stanley replied honestly. 

"I stole it outta your truck." that however, was a lie. 

"I think maybe the warden will like to see what you found, lets go." Mr. Sir said, still playing around. 

Everybody looked at Stanley as he left, wondering why he would lie for Magnet, and what would his punishment be.

Stanley had been gone for a while until we saw him walk back. 

"Caveman, we thought you were dead for sure." Squid shouted to him. 

"What you say?"

"Nothing."

"What'd she do to you?"

"Nothing, yeah she didn't do nothing."

Stanley walked up to his hole to find it dug. We all told him Zero did it.

Because he did.

A/N: Sorry I haven't updated in so long, I'm uploading another chapter today. Idk if I'll be posting a lot in the next two weeks bc those are my last days of school, hopefully I can squeeze in some writing.
