Chapter 57

Su Bin was pushed into a dressing room the moment she arrived. Jungkook said that they needed a girl in one of their photoshoots so decided to get her to help. So now she emerges, almost three hours later, in a dress and heels.

It was a white dress with navy blue fine details which lead to the skirt and it fell above the knee. The detail was very pretty, forming flowers. She was wearing a pair of felt navy blue heels that added about eight centimetres to her height. Her hair was done in like a braid but she couldn't determine what it was since she couldn't see it properly.

She looks around the hall to see black, navy blue and white helium balloons all over the place. She stared at the place in awe, mouth gaping at the sight in front of her. She twirls around to observe the place. She walks around to try and find someone. She ended outside in the gardens when she saw Min Jun in a suit. "Min Junnie?" she calls out the boy looks at her.

"Noona!" he greet happily before running over to her and hugs her legs. "I missed you!"

"Noona missed you too!" she replies before squatting down and hugged the boy.

"Noona, you're so pretty!" he compliments and she thanked him.

Min Jun grabs her hand with much difficulty before leading her somewhere. "Min Junnie saw really pretty flowers and told makeup noona so she told me to bring you there to pick some before going back so she could put it in your hair!" he says happily and she smiles, following the small boy.

He led her to a white rose patch and put on some gloves before cutting down some of the roses. "Min Jun learnt how to cut down roses by himself!" he exclaims, proudly and she smiles before ruffling his hair. "Noona, please take them but please be careful!"

She nods, going along with him and once he was done, he leads her back to the dressing room where the makeup artist was still there. "Wah Min Junnie did a great job!" she compliments before giving him a lollipop. "Here's your reward! Now leave us Unnie and I promise you when you see Su Bin again, she'll be even prettier okay?"

He nods, smiling widely before running out of the room, his light brown hair bouncing on his head. "He looks dashing," Su Bin says, sitting in front of the mirror while the makeup artist just smiles. "Why is he dressed up so nicely though?"

"Well he was in a children's photoshoot just now," the makeup artist explains and she nods as she carefully puts the flowers in.

Su Bin picks up a liquid eye liner, waiting to be called since the photoshoot wasn't ready yet. She opens the cap and starting drawing small doodles on her hand. An idea hit her as she wiped away the doodles before drawing out a few tattoos she wanted but couldn't get since she wasn't of age yet. Once she was done drawing a heart on her inner side of her finger, someone entered the room. "Is it time for me to go out Oppa?" she asks looking at Seokjin and he nods.

She stands up and brushes away the creases. Seokjin felt pride filling him. "You look pretty Su Bin," he compliments her and she blushes, finally remembering that she was in a dress. A really nice and expensive dress.

"So where's this photoshoot?" she asks and he smiles before offering her to grab his arm, only then she realized that the eldest was wearing a tuxedo. "Wa Oppa! You look good!"

He smiles, thanking her before leading her out of the door. Her view was blocked by his body and when he steps aside, she saw the balloons again, but this time, there were people. BTS was standing in the middle, smiling widely while carrying the twins. She stood there stunned as to what happened, looking around the room, lost. "Happy birthday Su Bin ah!" BTS yelled and a grin broke on her face because they remembered.

"Is this why you told me to stay at iKON's dorm last night?" she asks, looking at Namjoon who smiles before nodding as he reaches out to hug her.

"If you came back, it would have spoiled the surprise because we were here till early morning before going back to sleep and coming back again," he explains before pulling back. "But happy birthday Su Bin!"

She grins before proceeding to hug each of the member. "Wah Su Bin, you're really pretty!" Jungkook exclaims while Taehyung agrees. "I didn't expect Min Jun's words to be true."

"Kookie Appa!" the small boy whines and the maknae laughs before pinching his nose slightly.

"Well its time for you to go in," Hoseok says and she looks at them curiously. "We have guests waiting."

"You guys did not just do this," she says as she takes Jimin's arm.

They just smile and Jimin gently leads her towards another door. "Are you nervous?" he asks softly and she nods.

"I never had something like this before for my birthday," she mutters.

"Turning 18 is a once in a life time thing," he replies, showing off his eye smile.

"But its in Korean age," she replies back and he laughs.

"Does it matter?" he says and she just smiles back before they entered another hall which was filled with people from the idol world and acting world.

"Where did Oppas find so many people?!" she asks shocked and he continues to smile.

"Well honestly it is all because of your work, if you didn't start work, we wouldn't have found so many people," the Busan boy replies. "They all cleared their schedules to celebrate your 18th Su Bin ah."

Tears formed in her eyes as she looked around. She hasn't seen most of them in ages since they were really busy and sent their assistants to buy coffee for them. Jimin leads her to a couple which is realize was Spartace. "Omo! Oppa! Unnie!" she exclaims, happy to see the both of them and she hugs them tightly.

"You look so beautiful today Su Bin ah," Jong Kook says, a grin forming on his face.

She then realized that all of the guests were wearing either black, white or navy blue. "How long did you take you guys to plan this?" she asks, looking at Jimin.

"Two weeks or so because Ji Woo got admitted into the hospital but because of that, we were able to invite them all," the '95 boy said. "At least you're smiling Su Bin."

She then remembers back to the news of Dae Jun and So Hyun, her smile falters slightly.

Ji Hyo puts an arm on her shoulder. "Su Bin ah, I'm really sorry how Dae Jun had treated you... After everything he did, I thought he would have lasted a bit longer," the older girl says and Su Bin forces a smile out with a longing look in her eyes. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm hanging on Unnie," she replies and Ji Hyo hugs her. "Thank you Unnie."

She looks at Jong Kook and felt that he was too calm, he was just smiling at her with a bit of brokenness behind his eyes. She wondered why and when she broke from the hug. "You should greet your guests Su Bin ah," the actress says and the girl nods before excusing herself politely to greet all of her guests.

She finished greeting Big Bang and 2NE1 when she turned around to see UNIQ. She bows immediately, smiling widely. "Oppa!" she greets happily, making the five of them smile. "I never thought you would turn up! I remembered that Yi Xuan ge has filming to do."

"We managed to get a day off but its back to working hard tomorrow," Sungjoo explains, smiling. "Anyways, happy birthday Su Bin!"

She smiles, thanking them. "I better go now, I have to greet many other guests," she says and they nod.

She turns to leave but someone grabs her wrist. She turn back to see Yibo. "Here's your gift," he says, handing a box.

She looks at him curiously before taking it with both her hands and opens it to reveal a simple bracelet. It had white and navy strings with a single elephant charm. "I brought it from Thailand but never gave it out, I figured you may like it," he says and she looks up.

They held the eye contact for a moment and she smiles widely, closing the lid. "Thank you Yibo Ge," she says and he smiles.

She then waves goodbye before going to where Yoongi was talking to Gary. "Oppa, could you keep this for me?" she asks, whispering into Yoongi's ear, handing over the box and he nods before pocketing it.

Su Bin then continues to thank people for coming and their wishes before making small talk and then she'll move to the next group of people. She was happy that most of her guests was mingling happily as she could hear laughter and playful banter going around. "Noona!" she hears a voice and turns around to see Min Jun with the famous Song triplets. "Meet Dae Han, Min Guk and Man Sae!"

She kneels down on the ground to be at the same eye level as them. "Annyeong, I'm Kim Su Bin," she says, smiling.

"Dae Han, Min Guk and Man Sae knows Noona!" Dae Han exclaims happily. "Noona, you're very pretty!"

"Not as dashing as you!" she replies then realizes that Ji Woo wasn't anywhere. "Min Junnie, where's your twin?"

He turns around, panicking. "She was behind me a moment ago!" he exclaims, looking around for his twin but all he could see was people's legs. "Ji Woo!"

"Stop freaking out Min Junnie," the girl says, appearing from nowhere. "I was greeting UNIQ oppas. Unlike you."

Min Jun eyes widen before running towards UNIQ and greeting them loudly, making them smile at his cuteness. Su Bin looks from afar and wonders how scattered brain could Min Jun be. "Noona, could we take a picture with you?" Man Sae asks, smiling shyly and she nods. "Let's go to the photobooth!"

"There is a photobooth?" she asks, surprised that there was one because she has been everywhere and didn't notice any of them. "But Noona needs to greet a few more people."

"Ah~ It's okay then! Min Guk, Man Sae and Dae Han will follow!" Min Guk exclaims and Su Bin nods, he then turns to Ji Woo. "Ji Woo Noona, follow us?"

Ji Woo looked surprised before nodding slowly. Su Bin then goes around greeting the rest of the guests while the five kids, greet with her happily which brought a smile to the guests. "Let's go to the photobooth now!"

She smiles at how cute they are while the five of them run towards the direction of the photobooth, she follows behind as fast as she could without tripping. The photobooth was big and it was those instant print kind of photobooth. Her eyes widen but was distracted when Ji Woo pulls her in the booth with the other kids. The place was pretty big but she didn't know how to arrange them so that they all could be seen.

The cover was opened and she turns to see Han Bin with the rest of iKON behind him. His mouth gaps at the sight of her in front of him. Su Bin wearing a dress with make up on was another level of prettiness. "Wa Su Binnie, you look pretty," Chan Woo compliments before nudging Junhoe who looks over, his eyes widen.

Soon everyone from iKON had their eyes on her and she clears her throat awkwardly wanting to bite down on her lips but then she remembers that there lipstick on it and she wouldn't like the taste of it on her tongue so she refrained herself. Jinhwan shoves Han Bin towards her. "Han Bin, we'll go and get some drinks. Come and find us once you're done," the eldest say and the latter was about to say something but they all left.

He turns around after taking a deep breath. "Hi," he says and she smiles. "How are you?"

She giggles. "You saw me about five hours ago," she says and he smiles awkwardly.

"Unnie!" Ji Woo exclaims, gaining her attention and she remembers that the five kids were waiting for her.

"Ah! Sorry!" she exclaims.

"I'll go, see you later Su Bin," Han Bin says.

"Han Bin Oppa," she calls out and he stops. "Help me please."

She smiles sheepishly and he looks at the five cute kids and then her before nodding. They both sat next to each other. Min Jun crawls onto her lap immediately, making sure not make creases in her dress. She carries Min Guk onto her lap. Ji Woo greets Han Bin while getting on his lap. She helps Man Sae up and sits next to him. Dae Han stands up behind the both of them. Su Bin smiles, seeing that the arrangement worked.

Han Bin clicks the screen and choose the options while the kids were busy yelling out what they wanted. He smiles before clicking on whatever they wanted. Su Bin smiles, feeling like they were like a family and then stops before shaking her head. She and Dae Jun just broke up, she shouldn't move on this fast. "Unnie, time to take pictures!" Ji Woo exclaims and then she realizes that they were all looking at her, Han Bin's finger ready to press go.

The teenager nods as they proceeds to take lots of pictures till the point that she felt that her mouth was going break from smiling this much. They took enough pictures to have one strip per person. "Wa Ji Wooie looks really fat in this!" Min Jun teases, looking at his strip.

"Yah! Min Junnie!" she exclaims, pouting and crosses her arms.

"Song Min Jun. Don't tease your older sister," Su Bin warns and he just laughs. "Go find Min Appa so that your photo will be kept safe. Plus you can eat now so go find them. Don't bother anyone else okay Min Jun!"

"I'll make sure he doesn't get into any trouble Unnie," Ji Woo reassures. "Yah Min Jun! We have to bring the triplets back to their parents! Hurry up!"

Once she ensured that the five kids were safe and no trouble would befall on them, she turns back to Han Bin who was keeping the strip on the inside of his blazer. "I have something for you..." he says and takes something out of his pants pocket.

"Ah its okay if you didn't buy anything for me..." she mumbles and he shakes his head.

"It's not much but I hope you like it," he says and she looks at it curiously to realize that it was a white ribbon and an eyeliner. "I had to sneak out to buy the eyeliner and the ribbon was the only thing that reminded me of you."

"Shouldn't you keep it then?" she asks gesturing to the white ribbon and he shakes his head.

"I have one too," he says and pulls up his blazer sleeve slightly to show the edges of the white ribbon tied to his wrist. "I had to get Bobby hyung to help me tie... He looked at me so weirdly..."

She smiles slightly before raising her right wrist towards him with the white ribbon in her hand. He looks at her surprised before slowly taking the ribbon and ties it just right around her wrist. "Thank you," she says, smiling.

Looking at the white ribbon reminded her of Park Jimin's Hopeless Love music video. She looks up to Han Bin who was quietly staring at her again. They wouldn't be together no matter how much they tried because she met him at the wrong timing. And she knew never to play with fate because fate can mess you big time like how she was in the past.

"Su Bin," he calls out and she makes eye contact with him. "Do you believe in happy endings?"

She mulls over it. "I don't," she replies and he frowns.

"Why?" he asks and sees the hurt and tiredness behind her eyes.

She breaks eye contact with and looks to the ground, smiling bittersweetly. "Happy endings are temporary. Death is inevitable. Is death a happy ending? It isn't, Oppa. Like Dae Jun and I, happy endings doesn't happen," she explains and he frowns once again.

"But you can't use one thing to make a judgement against your whole life," he says and she looks up at him.

"I quote this from Namjoon Oppa, 'Happiness isn't only the part of your life that is beautiful'. When he said this, it meant for all the teenagers out there. If we all only focus on happiness, you lose out on the moments where your other emotions are in control. I take every moment seriously. When I'm rock bottom, I remember that feeling and always look back at that moment to remind myself never to feel like that ever again," she says before taking Han Bin's hand. "With you, I remember these moments too because it feels good, the awkwardness and stumbling over words. Because if I were ever to meet someone else, I'll look back on this and remember that the start of any kind of beautiful relationship should be like this."

Han Bin looks down at his hand and tries to engrave his memory into his mind. "Everyone says love hurts..." she says, putting his hand down, "but that is not true. Rejection hurts. Losing someone hurts. Envy hurts. Everyone gets these things confused with love, but in reality love is the only thing in this world that covers up all pain and makes someone feel wonderful again. Love is the only thing in the world that does not hurt."

"Han Bin Oppa, I want you to remember what I just said to you. It helped me a lot when I was with Dae Jun," she says, his name quite foreign on her lips. "Not everyone ends with a happy ending. Remember that."

He looks at her and saw the unshed tears in her eyes. He was about to speak when he heard murmurs around them. They both turn to see Dae Jun and So Hyun, hands intertwined. Su Bin's smile falters for a moment but then she regains her posture and greets them. "Dae Jun," she greets politely and he nods. "So Hyun-ssi."

"Su Bin," she calls out smiling. "Dae Jun insisted to come to your birthday party. He wanted to wish you well and thank you."

"Ah you shouldn't have bothered," she says, smiling with grimace. "Excuse me, I have something to discuss with Eric Oppa."

She then walks towards Eric who was with Henry and Amber. They witnessed the whole thing and opened up the circle the moment she approached. "Su Bin. It's okay," Amber says in English, putting an arm around her and she nods. "He's just a stupid boy. Don't bother about him."

"Su Bin ah, you're a good girl. You'll meet someone better," Eric encourages before smiling while Henry just smiles at her.

She thanked them before joining in with their conversation.

The rest of the night consisted of photo taking, laughter and eating. She tried to avoid looking at So Hyun and Dae Jun who were mingling with some of the actors and actresses their age. Music started playing and Hiya drags her to the dance floor before they both started dancing together. She then forms a group with Hiya, Jane from The Ark, Jimin Park, Yibo, Chan Woo and Jungkook before they all started to dance together. The scene was as if it was a group of friends out for fun in a club.

She then bumps into Daesung before starting to having a dance battle with him while her group cheered her on. As she turns, she sees Joonhyeon approaching her. She freezes, making Daesung follow her eye of sight to Joonhyeon. Daesung frowns, immediately stepping in front of her to block Joonhyeon from reaching her. "You weren't invited," Jungkook states, stopping him.

Joonhyeon glares at him before looking at Su Bin. "I didn't need to be invited," he says, holding up a fake invitation and Jungkook eyes him warily. "I'm here for Su Bin."

Hiya grabs Su Bin's hand, they make eye contact, worry filled both of their eyes. "You have no business here Joonhyeon," Daesung says. "Get out before I call security on you."

Jiyong had appeared to her right and Seungri was to her left. She felt blessed at that moment having so many people who would protect her. She peers over Daesung's shoulder and realized that his men were here. She steps out from behind Daesung but Hiya grips her tightly. She turns around and smile with a look saying that she knows she was doing. Hiya lets go of her hand. She then walks towards Joonhyeon shocking Jungkook. "Kookie Oppa..." she whispers before smiling slightly. "It's time for me to stand up for myself."

Su Bin then walk towards Joonhyeon. "Where do you want to go?" she asks.

"Just at the balcony," he says and she nods.

From the corner of her eyes, the men step down. She sighs internally knowing that her time was near. She follows him slowly to the balcony. He shuts the door to silence the music. "What do you want?" she asks.

"He wants you. Don't tell me you didn't know that," he says, smirking. "And once you're ours, the things I'll do to you Kim Su Bin."

She fold her arms before letting out a breath. "He said it himself, if I was able to escape, he wouldn't bother me then why does he keep bothering me?" she asks. "I'm tired with him playing games with me. I'm over with it."

"He's not over with it yet Su Bin. He wants you back. You were so popular," Joonhyeon says as he closes the distance between them. "He's waiting till you stop fighting before he takes you. I'm just a warning."

"I don't care," she says, glaring at him. "Tell him to bring it on because I will play with him. I have too many people to protect now."

"Are you sure you can protect them all?" he asks as she hears cries of Min Jun. "This is proof that you can't protect all of them. Some only."

"Where's Min Jun," she hissed out.

"You don't need to know that know. The three of you lived too long already. It's time," he says.

"Not Min Jun and Ji Woo. They're just kids," she says, daggers behind her words. "Let go of Min Jun. He doesn't deserve any of this."

"He does. He told his precious Appas about him. He isn't happy, Su Bin ah," Joonhyeon says and she sighs.

"Just let him go," she says, glaring at him and he thinks about it before nodding.

Min Jun runs towards her and she picks him up. "Noona..." he calls out with tears in his eyes.

"This is just a warning like I said. It's coming soon," he said before leaning towards her ear. "I cared for you. I really did till you decided to go with Dae Jun."

She closes her eyes as he walks away. She releases a breath that she was holding, clenching onto Min Jun tightly. "How did they get you?" she asks worried as the small boy wipes his tears.

"Min Jun was using the toilet but then I got caught," he says, hiccuping. "I'm sorry Noona. I didn't know he will be here."

"It's okay Min Junnie," she whispers as she holds him close before he started crying again.

Min Junnie... Everything is going to be alright.
