Chapter 6

Misty's POV

The drive back to Jess's house was nerve wrecking. I tried not to glance at Calum through the corners of my eyes but I couldn't help it. I noticed he still had bags under his eyes. the only noise that was coming through the car was luke humming one if their new songs. I glanced back at Calum looking at him one last time but he caught me.

"What's wrong?"

He smiled but kept his eyes on the road. I cleared my throat.

"Oh nothing."

"Are you sure? you keep looking at me like you're surprised."

"Oh"

I could feel the heat climb to my cheeks.

"Are you tired? you seem tired because you have bags under your eyes. that's all."

He simply shrugged his shoulders and chuckled as he saw that Luke had passed out in the backseat with his mouth open.

"We're here."

He turned off the engine and got out if the car. I gathered my bags and turned to open the door but it was opened by Calum already.

"Thank you."

I said with a small smile as he helped me down.

"Yeah."

He closed the door behind me and walked me up to Jess's door. I took out the spare key I had and stuck it in the door. Calum cleared his throat and spoke.

"So will I be seeing you around any time soon?"

I turned to look at him. He was incredibly close to me. He bit his lip and tilted his head.

"Yeah I guess so."

My heart was beating so fast I could hear it pumping in my ears. Then it happened. Calum leaned in and I leaned in as well. As soon as our lips touched I heard a car horn and headlights shining on us. I jumped seeing Ashton and Jess come out of the car.

"Yuck! Get a room mate!"

Ashton shouted at us. Calum turned to look back at me and gave me a small crooked smile.

"So I'll see you around, Misty."

And at that he slowly walked away back to his car turning around to see if I was still standing there and I was. Shocked. Not again Misty not again. I headed inside the house and heard Jess drop her heels behind me.

"So did you guys get back together again?"

She raised one of her eyebrows and placed her hands on her hips.

"No he just kissed me. It probably doesn't mean anything though."

I could feel myself blushing again.

"Oh really huh?"

Jess walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind her. I went upstairs to my room and laid down on the comforter. I had a headache.

"Oh Misty what have you gotten yourself into."

I placed my hands on my temples and rubbed them trying to ease the throbbing.

I woke up the next morning to my phone buzzing. I sat up and checked the time.

8:17 am

I grabbed my phone to see 2 unread texts one from Jess and another from Calum.

Calum.

I opened Jess's text first.

-I'll be out the whole day with Ash! Be good to the house! Love yah! Xx

Then I opened Calum's text.

-Wanna hangout today?

-yeah sure

I turned my phone off and went to the bathroom to brush up. I returned and opened my texts.

-I'll be over in 30.

I checked the time he sent the message. It was 15 minutes ago. I dropped my phone and looked through my luggage I searched but I couldn't find anything nice to wear. I stopped and heard my phone ringing. Calum was calling me. I picked up and heard his voice.

"I'm here come out Misty."

"Uhm yeah about that..."

My gaze turned to the mirror in front of me.

"What? What happened?"

I could hear concern in his voice.

"Can you come in real quick I need help with something."

I heard him turn off the engine and close the door.

"Yeah just open the door bye."

I shut my phone off and jogged down the stairs. I opened the door to see Calum dressed in black skinny jeans, black converse, a blue button up shirt, with his hair quiffed up. Wow he was really good looking.

"I uh need your help on something to wear."

I couldn't take my eyes off of his outfit. His shirt fit him nicely and his hair game was on point.

"Yeah of course!"

He broke the silence so I grabbed his arm and pulled him upstairs in my room where my suitcase was open with all of my clothes on the bed.

"Sorry for the mess. I haven't folded it into the drawers yet because I've been distracted lately."

"It's okay."

He laughed with the crinkles by his eyes.

"So what Should I wear?"

I went to go pick up a coral pink skater skirt and a white t-shirt and laid it on the bed.

"This one... or..."

I turned my head and searched around the room. My eyes came across the Forever 21 bag. The dress.

I quickly walked to the bag and pulled the mint dress Out of the bag and laid it on the bed as well.

"Or this?"

Calum's eyes flickered across the two outfits until he stepped forward and picked up the mint dress. Perfect.

"This one"

He smiled holding up the dress to me.

"Okay thanks I'll go change now."

I picked up the dress and ran to the bathroom pulling it on quickly. I fixed my hair and opened the door and went back to my room. I didn't put on makeup because I'm not a fan of makeup. When I walked in I saw Calum sitting on the edge of the bed looking around the room.

"Ready."

I said snapping him out of his thoughts. When is eyes landed on me I saw that his eyes grew bigger.

"Wow Misty you look beautiful."

He stood up and walked next to me. I felt absolutely nervous.

"T-thank you Calum."

I flushed walking down the steps hearing Calum's footsteps behind me as well.

"Misty wait."

I hear Calum as I reached my hand out to unlock the door.

"So if you go out with me right now does this mean that this is a date?"

He questioned me raising one of his eyebrows. I nodded and felt his hand interlocking with mine. I looked down at our hands perfectly fit together and blushed. We walked out to the car and Calum opened the passenger door for me. I thank him and sit in the comfy seat. He opens the driver door and plopped himself inside as well.

"So where are we going?"

I ask him realizing I didn't know where he was taking me. He turned on the engine and turned his head towards me.

"It's a secret actually."

"But Calum I hate secrets you know that."

I groaned and took out my phone.

"Don't worry you'll like this surprise."

We arrived at an old diner. He got out and opened the door for me. As the usual I thanked him and walked to the door which was opened by Calum once again. I thought it was really sweet. We were seated in a booth in the very corner.

"So what do you want to eat? I figured you haven't eaten yet since you seemed like you just woke up."

He laughed and slid the menu over to me.

"I'll get an omelette please."

"No problem. Anything for you."

I could see him smiling at me when I looked up at the menu that was covering half of his face.

We waited for the waitress to take our orders so we talked about our lives in the mean time.

"So why are you in London all of a sudden?"

Calum clasped his hands together and looked directly into my eyes.

"Well you see After I graduated highschool, I got an offer to move out here to become an intern for this photography business."

"Oh I see when do you start?"

"I'm going to start next week actually I just need to fill out some forms and I'll be ready to go."

The waitress finally came and took our orders then walked away.

"So why are you in London Calum Hood?"

I questioned him playfully.

"Well you see, Misty Roth, we were just on tour so we decided to stay in London for our time off before moving on."

"Oh I see. So you aren't staying here permanently?"

I asked disappointed.

"Yeah. I wish because now I have a reason to stay."

As soon as he said that his eyes flickered to mine. The waitress came just in time to break our awkward tension.

"Who ordered the Omelette and who ordered the breakfast burrito?"

We both pointed to each other laughing then dug into our plates as the waitress walked away.

After finishing our breakfast, we walked out of the diner and wondered where to go next.

"Do you want to go anywhere specific?"

I shrugged.

"Not really I was actually hoping to chill today and watch movies."

"Do you want to come back to my place and watch some movies then?"

I nodded as we headed out to the house that the boys were staying in.
