Chapter 69
00:21, 1 May 2014I ran off stage and went to my dressing room to get into the shower. "You did so good baby!" I heard Cody applaud as he came into the dressing room. "Thank you." I smiled to myself. After I was finished in the shower and then got ready to go back to the hotel.
"You look good up there." Cody smiled as he watched me do my hair. "Up where?" "On stage. You seem comfortable and it's as if you belong." "I agree." I smiled and grabbed his hand. "Let's go." I said as I pulled him out of the dressing room and towards everyone else who were waiting for us.
"What do you wanna do tomorrow?" "What?" I looked at Cody as he came out of the bathroom. "There's no show." "I've got a CD signing." "Oh right." He got changed into some sweats. "But we can do something after." I smiled.
"Don't rush just for me though." "Cody, you're special. I'll do what I want." I pecked his lips and snuggled into him."Turn it down a bit, I'm tired as hell." I told Cody as he turned the tv on. He did so and I rolled over to go to sleep. It didn't take me long to drop off, my body needs all the rest it can get.
The next morning we had to get up early to get to the mall that my CD signing was being held. Everyone was rushing around me trying to get everything sorted and I had nothing to do. "Codyyyy." I moaned. "Whaaaat?" He moaned back. "I'm bored." I sat on his lap. "Me too." "So what do we do?" "Nothing." "Whyyyy?!" I moaned again. "You can't go anywhere." I sighed. I hate the fact that he's right.
"Are you ready?" "Yeah." "We could make out for the next ten minutes." He grinned at me. "Oh boy, that sounds fun." I said sarcastically. "Charming." Cody copied my tone. "We should do something more fun." I turned around to face him with a leg either side of him.
"I don't think we have time for that." He smirked, I hit him playfully. "I didn't mean that." I giggled. "When you're done here I'm taking you to McDonalds and then we're going to take a walk along the river and then go looking through the streets to see what we can find." "Are we?" "Yes we are." He kissed my lips.
Ten minutes went by pretty fast and I had to stand behind this table thing while everyone came in and we took pictures, I signed their album and gave them a signed poster too. I was given many packets of sweets and small stuffed toys and some other things too. I had enough time to do two more people and then we had to finish up.
The first ones were a young girl with an older one. "Hey, what's your name?" I smiled. "I'm Lilly." The girl smiled. "My little sister's called Lilly." I smiled at the thought of her. "I know!" She grinned. I smiled and signed the things for her. The next was a girl around my age. I smiled as she passed me her copy of my album for me to sign.
"Can you give this to your brother for me?" She handed me a small piece of paper. Okay, that's never happened before. I get things to give to Cody or Alli but I haven't ever been asked that before. "Can I ask what it is?" I asked as I placed the album and small poster in her hand.
"My number." She winked and walked away, I turned and gave Cody a weird look which he returned. He didn't hear what the girl said as he wasn't close enough to hear. Matt rapped up the signing and Cody and I left after a while.
"Why did you give me that look?" Cody asked. "Some girl asked me to give Trey her number." I laughed and so did Cody. "So? That happens a lot." "Not with Trey, well I've never been asked that. I had no idea girls found him attractive." "My fans like him too." Cody laughed which made me laugh.
"Got some competition now, Codes." I giggled as we went into McDonalds. "Oh please, girls love me way more than him." He said cockily. "Well go order for me. I'm waiting here." I said as I sat on a chair. "What do you want?" "Nuggets." I grinned. "Hold this." He handed me his phone I nodded and took it from him.
"You still don't trust me?" Cody asked as he sat down with the food. I looked up at him from his phone screen. "I was playing flappy bird." I smirked and handed it back to him. "Oh. Sorry." He appologized. "Food!" I grabbed my food and started to stuff my face.
"So you got nothing going on tonight, yeah?" "That would be correct." I nodded with fries in my mouth. "You're such a lady." Cody laughed at me. "You wouldn't want me any other way." I kicked him playfully under the table. "Excuse me?" Someone came over to us, we both looked their way.
"Can I get a photo with you?" She asked us. "Who? Him or?" "Both of you." She smiled. "Sure, let's go." I got up and stood next to her, Cody got up too and stood on the other side. After we finished eating we walked through town and along the river banks hand in hand. It was an amazing feeling with the sun on our faces and the light breeze. Heaven.
We decided to sit on a bench by the water for a while. "So are you enjoying this life so far?" Cody asked, I nodded. "It's amazing but there's one thing I do wanna change." "What's that?" "I miss home, my little sister, my best friends and just everyone." "It's only a month though." He smiled. "I know." I smiled back at him.
"Can we go out tonight? Do something fun?" I asked, Cody nodded. "I was gonna ask if you wanted to order a take away and watch movies but we could go out if you want." "Can we go to the movies?" "Sure." "And then bring a take away home with us." I grinned which made Cody laugh.
"Anything you want, baby." He kissed my forehead. "Come on, let's get back. It's starting to get dark." "Is Cody scared of the dark?" I teased. "That's a bit rich coming from you." "I've gotten over it though." I poked my tongue out at him. "Just come on." He pulled me away.
"What movie should we watch?" Cody asked as we looked at the screen. "That one looks good." I pointed to one. "Let's watch that one then." He took my hand and lead me to the counter where you buy your tickets. "Can we have popcorn too?" I grinned, Cody laughed and nodded. I looked around the building while Cody bought the tickets and popcorn.
"Screen seven." Cody said and lead me to it. We found our seats at the back and got ready to watch the movie. "Cody.." I whispered to him, he looked at me. "Those girls have noticed you." I pointed to a set of three girls who kept turning around and giggling to each other. "Just ignore them, we're here for us." "Bu-" "Watch the film." He kissed my cheek and looked at the screen again.
After the movie we went back to the hotel with a chinese. The two of us got into bed with all kinds of chinese food piled onto a plate each. "What shall we watch?" I asked as I swallowed a mouthfull. "I don't mind." Cody mumbled with food in his mouth.
I got up and put the TV on and then returned to my place in the bed. We didn't say anything as we ate, we were both so hungry. "What's the time?" I asked while Cody came back into the room after putting our plates in the kitchen. "Time you got a watch and stopped asking me." He narrowed his eyes at me.
I rolled over and looked at my phone, 10pm. "What do you wanna do? I'm bored." I sighed. Cody's phone started to ring. "I gotta take this." He looked from me to the phone. "Who is it?" "Jake, it's important." "Okay." I smiled and let him leave the room. I went to the toilet and then returned to the bed. After a few minutes my phone went off so I picked it up and looked at the text.
Jake: I just saw your interview on Ellen on Tv, you did good :) xxx
Wait what? So who's Cody really on the phone to? I texted him back to make sure I wasn't going crazy.
Me: Thanks! Cody just said you called, what was so important?xxx
Jake: I haven't spoken to him today :/ xxx
Oh. Why would he lie about who he's talking to? What's he trying to hide from me?
"Codes?!" I called him. No answer. "Cody!" A little louder yet still no answer. "For God's sake!" I got up and went to find him, he wasn't in the hotel apartment. I noticed a note stuck to the door, I took it off and read it. "Matt texted, said he needed me. Don't wait up."
I grabbed a jacket and went to Matt and Justin's hotel room. I knocked on the door and then Justin answered within seconds. "Come in." He stood to the side so I walked in. "Hey, Lon." Matt smiled at me and then looked back at the TV. "Where's Cody?" I asked confused.
"He's with you." "No. He left me this note." I handed it to him. "I haven't said I needed him." Matt said after reading it and then handing it to Justin to read. "When did he leave?" "I don't know. His phone started ringing and he said it was Jake and it was important but then after a few minutes Jake texted me and when I asked he said he hadn't spoken to him all day." I sat on the arm of the chair as I explained.
"He couldn't of gone far, why don't you call him?" "Good idea." I got out my phone but then Justin stopped me. "I'll call him, if he's doing something he shouldn't then he won't pick up to you." He pointed out and then got out his phone.
We stayed silent while Justin talked to Cody on the phone for a few minutes, he hung up and gave us both a weird look. This isn't going to be good. "He says he's at the movies with you." "Why does he do this?!" I rolled my eyes and left the hotel room.
"Lauren, wait!" Matt came running after me. "What are you doing?" "I'm going to find this jerk." "Be careful." "I will." "And don't be out all night, you have a show tomorrow." "Yes, Dad." I sighed. "Don't be cheeky." He pushed me playfully and then I ran off towards the elevators. Where to go first? I'm in a massive city all alone with only my phone for protection.
I wondered the streets for a while, looking for some kinda sign of him or where he's been. "Excuse me?" I heard a voice behind me. "Hi." I smiled warmly at the scared looking girl. "Are you Lauren Miller?" "That would be me, yes." "What are you doing all alone in the streets?" "I'm on a search."
"What are you looking for?" "My boyfriend." "Cody?" "Yes." I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why are you looking for him?" "He's doing something he shouldn't and he's lying to everyone." "What's he doing?" "That's what I'm trying to find out." "Oh right." She looked at the floor.
"Wanna come help me?" I offered, she looked up at me with a smile and a sparkle in her eye. "For real?" "Yup." I nodded with a smile. "Are you sure?" "Of course, let's go. I need someone to talk to while I go anyway." I started to walk, the girl walked to my side and walked with me. "Wanna get a hot chocolate first?" I said as I stopped outside a starbucks. The girl nodded so we went in.
"So what's your name?" I asked while we walked along a street. "I'm Ellie." "That's a nice name." "Thank you." She smiled at the ground which made me smile. I told her about how Cody cheated on me in Australia and then we walked in silence for a while. "Let's go look along the river in the park, everyone goes there at night. Especially when they wanna be alone." She hesitantly took my hand.
"Let's go." I assured her and let her pull me towards the park. We walked along the river until someone caught my eye. Well two people. "That looks lik-" "It is." I cut her off and got low pulling Ellie with me. "Stay quiet and don't move." I whisperd, she nodded quickly.
"You made it then." The girl smiled at Cody. Wait. I recognize that voice. I looked closley at the girl in the distance. I gasped when I realized who it was. "It can't be." I whispered in shock. "What?" Ellie looked at me confused. "That's his ex. Not ex but they were like a couple and she wants him back and always has. He said he'd never go back to her but.." I trailed off as I watched the two of them talking.
"What's her name?" "Carrie." "Edwards?" "Yes, do you know her?" "Yeah. She models for some bikini clothing line." "Oh." I watched as Cody spun her around in circles, both of them laughing and playing in the moonlight. "Are you sure you wanna do this? If Lauren finds-" "Lauren won't find anything out. She's not smart enough." Cody told Carrie as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
My heart sunk as I watched him touch her and look at her the way he does with me. "Are you sure you wanna watch this?" Ellie could tell I was close to tears. "I have to know." I comfirmed and looked back at the couple. "What are you waiting for?" Carrie said just loud enough for us to hear as she wrapped her arms around my boyfriend's neck.
Cody looked around to make sure no one was there, Ellie pulled me behind a park bench before he could see us. We both sat down as Cody turned back to look at Carrie. "You know the deal, if we get caught. You're going to stick you it?" "I forced you into kissing me." Carrie smiled at him making Cody smile.
"Good girl." He said before leaning in and kissing her. Tears fell freely from my eyes as I watched them. Ellie took my hand and lead me out of the park. She stopped under a street lamp and pulled me into her. "I'm so sorry, Lauren." She soothingly rubbed my back.
"I love him so much." I sobbed. "I don't know what to say. I thought he loved you too, I honestly did. I can't believe him. I can't believe I ever liked him." She shook her head in disapproval. "Don't let this change your opinion of him. Please." I looked her in the eyes. Her eyes met mine and then she looked past me.
"He's not a cheat. That's not him." I shook my head. "Lauren?!" I heard Cody. Oh no. I refused to turn around until he pulled my wrist and forced me to look at him. "Why are you crying? Are you okay? Who's not a cheat?" He looked so worried. How does he do that? How can he act like he really cares after doint that?!
"Yo-" "Jake." I stopped Ellie before she could finish. "Jake. I told her about how Jake cheated on Alli a few weeks ago." I explained. "Why are you so upset about that?" He wiped my tears away. "Because it's not fair on her. She'd never do anything to hurt him but he didn't respect it. He probably faked every sweet or romantic thing he ever did or felt. It was probably all fake. He probably didn't even love her." I told him.
Little did he know I was talking about him and myself. "He probably just wasn't thinking. I bet he regretted it after doing it." "Both times?" Ellie started. "He only did it once?" Cody looked at us both. "No, twice. Alli just didn't tell you because big brother's get really mad when their sister's boyfrind cheats more than once." I implied that Trey will get mad as I told him.
"Well don't worry because that's not us." He laughed nervously and took my hand. "Let's get you both home, you're both shivering." "I live over there." Ellie pointed to her house. "It was nice hanging with you tonight." I smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow, I have meet and greet tickets to your show." She smiled.
"I'll see you then." I grinned and waved. "How come you didn't tell me Jake cheated on Alli twice?" "I didn't think you needed to know." "Well I do." "Why?" "Because she's my sister. It's my job to protect her, I can't let anyone disrespect her like that." "No, course not." I rolled my eyes and let go of his hand.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He tried to take my hand again but I moved it. "Lauren, slow down." He tried to catch up with me. "What have I done? Why are you so mad?" "You seriously have no clue? No idea what so ever?" I whipped my head in his direction. "Lauren, I've done nothing wrong." "Oh yeah? What did Matt want from you in the park?" "I left his and came here after I was done talking to him." "Cody, I saw you." I looked him in the eyes.
