Chapter 68
00:39, 29 April 2014"Is that everything?" Matt asked as he loaded the bottom of the bus with the last of the suitcases. "I think so." Dad nodded. Today's the first day of the tour, we have a show tonight and then we're driving to Navada for an interview and two concerts there.
"Where's Lilly?" I asked. "Lil?!" Dad shouted without turning around. "I can't believe this is it." I said as I looked at the bus. "I'm on the top bunk." Cody said as he came out of the bus. "Think again. My tour. My top bunk." I smirked at him. "There's two." Matt reminded.
"What do you want, Daddy?" Lilly asked as she came outside. "Oh wow!" She ran into the bus. I laughed at her. "Can I go in here today?" She asked Dad as she came back out. "Yes but you're coming home with us." "You're flying out to meet us in Georgia, right?" I asked.
"Of course." Dad smiled. "Cara and Trey will be here tonight too, yeah?" "Of course, we'll be there in a few hours." He comfirmed. "See you then." I kissed his cheek and went into the bus. Matt followed me and we all sat in the back of the bus.
"I haven't been in one of these in a loooong time." Cody said, I agreed. "So long." "I've never been in one of these." Lilly said as she checked out the rest of the bus. "You like it?" I asked, Lilly nodded and began trying to climb onto Cody's bunk.
"So it's gonna be us three and Justin too." Matt said, I nodded. "Scooter's coming tonight, isn't he?" I asked. "Yes." Matt and Cody gave each other a look. "What?" I looked between them. "Nothing." They said at the same time. "What are you up to?" I narrowed my eyes at Cody.
"Lauren? Can I come with you on the bus?" Lilly asked. "I talked to you about this, you're coming to see me when I'm in Georgia." "But I wanna come with you." She pouted and climbed onto Cody's lap. "How about we do something fun when you do come instead?" I offered. "We can go to the park!" "Yeah!" I matched her excitment.
After we'd gotten to the venue for tonight we had last minute rehearsals and then I had to get ready for meet and greets. Once I was ready I was guided to where they were being held. "So you talk to the fans and hug them. It's about 30 seconds per fan, okay?" Justin told me.
"They're people, not objects." I reminded. "I know but if you wanna meet them all then you have to do that." "There's not going to be that many." "We sold over 100 meet and greet tickets." Justin said, my mouth dropped. "They all wanted to meet me?" I pointed to myself.
"Yup." He smiled. "Wow." I whispered. "Alright, you look good and they're waiting on you so let's get this going." Justin clapped and walked out of the curtain, I heard screaming as he did so. Two girls rushed in and tackled me with hugs. "Hey girls." I laughed and hugged them back.
"You're so beautiful!" One of them complimented. "So much more beautiful in person too." The other one added. "Thanks! You guys are just as beautiful." I told them. "Smile for the picture." The photographer told us, the three of us smiled and then the girls were told they had to go. This is going to be more fun than I thought.
It took around an hour and a half to finish with the meet and greets and then I went back to find everyone else. "Hey! When did you get here?" I asked as I sat down with Mom, Angie and Tom. "A half hour ago." "Oh cool, where's everyone else?" "They got hungry." Mom said, I nodded.
"I have something to tell you though." Mom said and looked at Angie nervously. "What?" I asked confused. "Trey couldn't make it tonight." She looked down. "Wha- Why?" I stood up. "He was called into work, he couldn't get out of it. He said he's sorry." "Well sorry doesn't get him here, does it?" I said and walked away.
The one person I was most excited about being here tonight isn't going to be here? I sat down on the couch in my dressing room. There was a knock on the door. "Come in." I sniffed. "Are you crying?" Henry, one of my dancers, asked as he closed the door behind him.
"My brother isn't going to be here tonight." I said as the tears fell from my eyes. "Come give me a hug. I'm sure he wants to be here." He held his arms out for me. I held him tightly as I cried into his chest. I heard the dressing room door open and then Henry passed me to someone else, I held their shirt tightly knowing it was Cody.
"I'll see you later." Henry said before leaving. Cody lifted me up and put on the dresser. "Hey, stop wasting these." He said as he wiped a tear away. "He's my big brother, he's been my best friend since the day I could smile at him. He's not going to be here on the most important day of my life. I thought I meant something to him." I said.
"You mean the world to him, Lauren. Trust me. I've taken enough of his fists, harsh words and glares to know you're everything to him." "Well then why isn't he here?" "He didn't plan this, he was almost crying this morning when we were talking about tonight." "You knew?" "No, he's so proud of you and he was almost crying because of that."
"I want him here though." I wiped my face. "You've got mascara on my white shirt." Cody said as he looked in the mirror behind me. "I'm sorry." I giggled. "Are you though?" He held my thighs. "No." I giggled as he started to tickle me.
"Just please keep smiling like that." He said and held me tightly against him. "I'll be watching you with your little sister, she needs to see a smiling Lauren not a sad Lauren." "I'll try." I sniffed and turned around to look at myself in the mirror. Just then Janice and Tracy walked into the room.
"Boys need to leave while girls do girly things." Tracy said as she guided Cody out of the room. "Can I jus-" "Nope!" Tracy shut the door before he could say anything. Cody came back in, kissed my lips quickly and ran out again. I giggled and jumped off of the dresser.
"He's a special one, that one." Janice told me as she started to brush my hair. "I know that." I smiled. "You got him to thank for all of this, haven't you?" Tracy set out a whole load of makeup. "Yeah. Well he made me do half of it." "You'll thank him one day." They said at the same time.
It took while but once I was ready to hit the stage I went to find everyone. "Look at this beautiful young lady." Angie said as I walked around the corner. "Hey." I smiled at them. "Codes, get up. I want a picture of you both." "He's not coming on stage." I pointed out to my Dad.
"Hush." Dad said and pushed Cody towards me. "Sparkly." He observed. "Mhmm." "If you get sparkles on my shirt as well as mascara I won't be happy." I giggled and smiled for the camera. "Hi guys." I heard a familiar voice.
"Hey Scoot- Justin!" Stood next to Scooter was the one and only Justin Bieber! "Oh did I forget to tell you about that?" Cody asked. I pushed him to the side and hugged Justin. "Someone's happy to see me." He laughed as he hugged me back. "How come you're here?" "I was in California and thought I might come to watch Miss Miller's first performance." He said as he shook my Dad and Brad's hands.
"You're Justin Bieber." Lilly got shy as she spoke to him. "That's me." He flashed an adorable but damn sexy smile. Lilly practically jumped into his arms. "I like you." She told him. "I like you too." He laughed. "Can I watch Lauren with you?" "What about me?!" Cody asked. "I don't like you anymore." She rested her head on Justin's shoulder.
"That's fine, I don't need you." Cody said to her, I laughed at him. "Has your bestie left you?" I pouted at him. "She has." He pouted back. "You're on in two!" Matt shouted at me, I nodded and ran to my entrance. Let's put on a show for these amazing audience members!
As I finished one of the songs the screaming of the fans got a little louder, I turned around and saw Lilly running towards me. I smiled at her. "Everyone this is my little sister, her name's Lilly!" I told them as I lifted her up.
"Say hi, Lil." I offered her the mic. "Hi." She said shyly and rested her head on my shoulder. "Did you miss me?" I asked, she shook her head which made everyone laugh. "I can't find Cody." She pouted, the crowd awwed her. "Is he hiding from you?" I asked, she nodded.
"And Justin went home." "I guess you'll have to play with Alli then." I said. The screams of the crowd got louder than ever. "I think I found Cody." I laughed and set Lilly on the floor. She ran to Cody and he picked her up. Cody waved to the crowd and took my mic from me.
"I just came to collect this." He looked at Lilly. "On with the show!" He said and handed me my mic before leaving the stage. "Who was that?" I asked which made everyone laugh. We carried on with the rest of the show before being taken to my dressing room and then guided out onto the bus by a body guard.
"I'm so full of energy!" I bounced on the couch. "Adrenaline." Cody laughed and walked through the bus. "Hey, we came to say goodbye." Dad said as they all came into the bus. I jumped off the couch and into Dad's arms. "I'll see you in however many days." I said and kissed his cheek.
We said our goodbyes and then Cody and I cuddled up on the couch in the back of the bus. "I've got movies in my bag if you wanna go get one?" He offered. "I'll be back in a minute." I said and climbed up onto his bunk. I got out a few movies and grabbed his blanket before going back and sitting with him.
"Move up, kids." Justin said as he came into the back of the bus followed by Matt. "We're watching girly films but fine." Cody said and pulled me with him as he moved. "Nooo!" Justin shouted. "Let's watch like Paranormal Activity or something." "No, they're scary!" I moaned. "We got here first and it's my tour so we're watching this." I said and pressed the play button. "They're like seven-year-old's." Matt and Cody laughed.
The next morning I woke up in a car. I looked around and then found Cody looking at me. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Interview." Cody answered. "Mine or yours?" "Actually this one is ours." "Oh good." I smiled.
We finally got to the building where the interview was taking place, Cody and I had seperate dressing rooms so we seperated and got ready. "We need you to come with me now." Someone said as the popped their head around the door. "Okay." I smiled and followed them to where Cody, Matt and Justin were stood.
"Someone looks very beautiful." Cody smiled at me. "I know I am but look at Lauren." Justin joked which made me giggle. "Do I look okay?" "Yeah." Cody nodded. "These shorts are a little too short." I said as I pulled them down, Cody pulled them back up.
"You never normally care." "I never normally have to sit infront of a camera." "You perform in short things." "Shh." I tapped his nose. Cody leant down and kissed me before we were asked to go into the room and sit with the interviewer infront of the camera. The interviewer, Kelly, introduced herself and then us.
"I understand this is your first interview you've ever done together?" She looked between us, I looked at Cody to answer. "She's gone shy." He laughed at me. "But yeah, this is our first one together." "Also, Lauren, you told Ellen that the two of you had broken up. How come you're back together? Or where you lying?"
"I wasn't lying." I got a little annoyed, why would I lie?! "We had broken up for around two weeks when I was on Ellen but then we got back together." "And you seem very happy together, are you?" She asked, I nodded. "I think that's an important thing when it comes to relationships. If you're not happy then something is clearly not right." Cody said.
"Your fans seem to love Lauren, does that make you happy?" She asked him. "Of course, they knew her as Alli's best friend long before we started dating so they were familiar with her." "Do you get hate from his fans?" Kelly turned to me. "Well I get mean messages sometimes but I understand why they'd not like me."
"And do you tell him when they're mean to you?" "No. I don't want to make them look bad, he loves us both. I know that they get jealous when they see us together and when we're doing things that couples do but I have to make a lot of sacrafices for them. I respect and treat them the way I'd want them to respect and treat me, it's a two way street." I smiled at Cody.
Half an hour later we were done with the interview and left the building a while after that. The car journey was quite, Cody seemed to be tense. I don't know why though. We checked into a hotel and went to our rooms. I was unpacking when Cody walked into the bedroom.
"Want me to unpack for you?" I asked. "Nah." He forced a smile and sat on the bed. I watched him in the mirrored closet door as he picked up my phone. "What's your passcode?" He looked up at me. "Why?" "I want to look at something." "At what?" "Pictures of us." He lied.
"Cody.." "I do, I wanna send some to my phone." He got his phone out of his pocket. "Cody, don't lie to me." "I'm not lying." "I'm not stupid." "What do they say to you?" He looked into my eyes. "Who?" I was confused, Cody crawled over to me and kneeled on the bed infront of me.
"My fans. You said they send you mean messages, what do they say?" "Don't worry about it, Cody. There's a reason I don't tell you." "I wanna read them." "It's not important." I took my phone from him and placed it in my back pocket. "You know I'll go get that." He laughed.
"Please just leave it alone." I cupped his face in my hands. "But I worry about my baby." He pouted cutely. "There's no need. I'm a big girl." I pecked his lips and then carried on unpacking. "Oh and can you unpack for me actually." He gave me a cheesey grin making me laugh.
