Chapter 55

I woke up to the sound of Cody's phone ringing, I looked around for it. "Hello?" "Lauren? Where are you?! School's about to start!" Dan shouted into the phone. "Shit!" I cursed, Cody woke up because of my outburst. "I'll be there, tell Miss." I hung up and got up.

"Come on!" I grabbed Cody's hand and started to run back to the car, once we got there we got in and Cody started driving. I reapplied my makeup on the way and tied my hair up into a messy bun. "Can I have your hoodie?" I asked, Cody nodded.

Cody stopped in the parking lot, I pulled his hoodie over my head. I had leggings on which was okay, we got out and walked into the building together. "Miss Miller, you're late." "That's my fault, Sir." Cody butted in before I could answer.

"Run along now, Miss." Mr Johnstone told me, I did as I was told and ran off to first period. I walked in and everyone looked at me. "Sorry I'm late, Miss." I appologised and sat down in the back corner. "Detention." Mrs Decoy called after me, I rolled my eyes.

"I'll see you at lunch." She told me, I smiled sarcastially. "Where were you?" Jack moved to the seat next to me. "I was asleep. Cody took me out late last night and we fell asleep." I explained. "Dan wants to talk to you, he's mad." "Why's he mad?" "You wouldn't answer him all night and weren't here this morning. He needs to talk to you." I nodded.

I'm in so much trouble! At lunch I tried my best not to bump into Dan, I had detention which made it easier but I did have to go and get lunch. "Lauren!" I heard Dan shout. Damn it. "Lauren, did you do it?" He walked towards me.

"Do what?" Dan rolled his eyes. "That's it, I'm doing it." He walked off with his phone in his hand, I ran after him. "No! You can't do it!" I took his phone off him. "I gave you the chance, you didn't do it. It's not fair on Cody." "Is it fair on me?" I asked.

"You let him kiss you." "Do you think Cody would of told me about him and Jenna?!" I tried to change his mind. "I don't care, I'm putting this right." "I'll do it tonight, I promise!" "Too late." Dan grabbed his phone and walked off. I sighed loudly, just great.

After school was over I waited outside, I saw Cameron sitting on the bench I normally sit on so I stood by a tree. "Lauren?" Cam called me. I ignored him. "Oi." He stood next to me. "Look I know you have every right to hate me but I'm sorry, I really am. I don't know what I was thinking or what I thought I'd get out of it." He appologised, I stayed quiet.

"It's just, you're really hot. It's not fair to me that all of a sudden you've fallen in love with someone else when you've had a crush on me since kindergarden. I know that this won't change anything but I really am sorry." "Just because I'm hot that gives you the right to force yourself on me?" I asked.

"No it doesn't. If you were a guy and you had to watch yourself dance, knowing you can't touch you, you'd understand." "You disgust me." I spat at him. "Just because of the way I move my hips, you think you can do what you did?! It's disgusting!"

"Lauren, I'm sorry!" "It's not good enough." "Please forgive me?" "She said it wasn't good enough." I heard Cody behind me. Cameron turned around to face him, I stayed facing away. "I-Uh-Sorry man." I watched as Cameron walked off.

"Where's your car?" I asked still not facing him. "Round the back, come on." He took hold of my hand, we walked round to find Cody's car. Why isn't he mad at me? Didn't Dan tell him?

"I'm only going to ask you this once but are you okay?" He asked. "Just thinking." I smiled, Cody did too. We both go into the car, Cody kept looking at me. "What?" I questioned. "You should wear my clothes more often. That hoodie looks good on you." He said.

"Keep driving, Mr." I smiled, Cody laughed. "We have three hours in the studio to do vocals and add any extra things we wanna add." He told me. "Alright, and then what?" "And then we have our record." He grinned, I laughed at him.

"You're singing first." "You can't be scared, you're really good." "But I've never done it before." I pouted. "Once you're inside the booth, you won't care who's watching." "I'm still not going in there first." "Whatever." He rolled his eyes, I giggled.

Once we got inside the studio, Cody set everything up while I played guitar. "Who taught you?" Cody asked. "Me." "You taught yourself?" "Yup." "Did you teach yourself piano too?" "Mhmm." I hummed. "Why didn't you do anything about this before?"

"Define 'this'?" "You're so talented and you don't even see it, Lauren. You're a performer." "I'm not." "Why not? What can't you do?" "I'm just not." "But you are, you can dance, you can sing, you can play instruments and you look so good." "Get inside that booth!" I pushed him towards the door.

"When I say go, play the music. Okay?" "I'm confused." I looked at the computer infront of me, Cody came back out and showed me how to do it and then went back in. "Are you ready?" I asked, he nodded and I played the music. His voice sounded amazing.

We finished the whole thing after the three hours we were given and began driving home. "So do you like it?" "I do." "Can I show Matt?" "You're going to show him no matter what I say." I shrugged. "Is that a yes then?" "As long as you promise me neither of you will make me do something I'm not comfortable with or don't want to do." "I promise."

"You can show him then." I nodded as I said it, a smile appeared on Cody's face which made me smile. I was still wondering.. Why isn't he mad at me? Dan said he'd tell him that I'd kissed Josh, it's so confusing.

"Whatcha thinking about?" Cody asked as he stopped at traffic lights. "Just things." "Like what?" "Oh I forgot to ask, do you know where my phone is?" "Your house." "How did it get there?" "My mommy took it to your mommy." Cody said cutley which made me giggle.

"You left it in my car so I sent it round with my mom." "Thank you." "Who's house?" Cody asked as he came to the turning. "Um.." "Quick!" He hurried me but then took the road to my house. "Too late." He laughed, I did too.

"You know what you told me about Josh last night?" Cody asked as he came out of my bathroom, I nodded. "Does anyone else know what happened?" "Cameron. I used to tell him everything." "Oh right, okay." "Does he know anything about him that I don't?" "He was here when it happened, Cam knows everything." "Oh."

"But you'll learn, not now but there will be a day that you know everything. It's just hard for me." I said, my laptop made a noise. I crawled off my bed and over to my window seat where the laptop was. "It's an email." I informed. "Who from and what do they want?"

"First they want you to stop looking at my butt." I turned to face him as I said it, Cody looked away with a smirk. "What else?" He asked, I giggled and looked back at my laptop. "It's a modelling job offer." I smiled.

Cody got up and sat next to me on the floor, I sat on my heels. "For 'Young and Reckless'" Cody read out the information. "Friday.." He continued. "I know where that place is, what me to take you?" I nodded at him. "As long as mom says yes." "Obiously."

I got up, so did Cody. "This is how you have to pose for the camera." He made a stupid pose, I giggled at him and did another silly one. "Like this?!" "Yeah!" He walked over to the mirror and did another one. Just then Rhianna walked in.

"What are you do- Hey Cody!" The fakeness came out. She pumped up her chest to make her boobs look bigger, I rolled my eyes. "I was just getting dressed to play in the pool with Lilly." She said as she looked through her suitcase." "You're going home on friday aren't you?" I asked annoyed.

"Nope, saturday." "It's a shame you didn't get anything you wanted." "Modelling wise?" "Yeah." "Daddy made some arrangments for me." She smiled and walked out of the room. "Daddy?" Cody asked, I nodded and laughed. "You don't even know how annoying that gets." I told him.

"I could imagine." He laughed. "So are you gonna ask your mom about that job?" "Yeah, let's go." I walked down the stairs and went to find mom. "It's bright out here." I shielded my eyes from the sun as I walked into the back yard.

"Mom?" I sat on her lap and looked at her innocently. "What do you want now?" She asked, Angie laughed at her. "I just got an email, I have a job on friday with Young and Reckless. Can I go?" "Alli's done some stuff with them." Angie said, Cody nodded.

"How will you get there?" "I'll take her." Cody said. "There's only one problem." I started. "What's that?" "It's during school.." Mom sighed. "Please, Please, Please?!" I begged. "Lauren, you've already missed three months of school, you missed a week last week and now you want this?" "It's just a day, please?" "Don't give me those eyes." She told me, I carried on.

"Fine, you can do it." "Yes!" I jumped off her lap. "Yay!" Lilly coppied my excitment, I laughed as she splashed around. "CoCo, come in the water?" Lilly asked Cody, he shook his head. "Not now, tomorrow maybe." "Please come in, CoCo." Rhianna copied Lilly.

I rolled my eyes at her, I gave my mom and Angie a look. "I can't." He said and dragged me inside. "Help me wash my car?" Cody asked, I nodded. "I'll get all the stuff." I said and went to get it from the garage.

"Take my hoodie off, I don't want it ruined." Cody lifted it over my head, I only had a white tank top and some leggings on. "First we have to get it wet with the hose." Cody lifted it up. "I'll turn it on." I ran over to the tap. "Go on then." "I have." I lied.

"It's not working then." He pointed it at himself, I turned it on and got him soaking. "Get here now, Missy!" Cody ran after me and span me around in cirlcles before grabbing the hose and squirting me. "Do the soap first." I riggled out of his grip.

Cody wet the car and then turned the hose off. He threw a soapy spounge at me, I giggled and threw it back. After about a half hour the car was clean and we were wet and soapy. "I can see through your shirt." Cody poked my belly.

"No you can't." I pushed him playfully. "You have a red, lacy bra on." He said, I looked inside my shirt and then at him. "Oh no." I laughed, Cody did too. "Do they match?" He asked and pulled the band of my leggings away from my waist, I slapped his hand.

"Go away." I pushed him. "Your shirt's wet." I pulled it over his head, he took it off me and then kissed my lips. He pulled my body into his as we made out. I heard someone clear their throat, I quickly turned around. "I'm going home now, are you coming Cody?"

"Nah, I'm gonna stay the night." "Okay, night guys." Angie smirked at us and then got into her car. "I need to get dressed." I looked down at my wet clothes, Cody did the same. "Me too." "Mom!" I called her from the front door, she came out of the living room.

"Can we have a towel each please?" "Sure." Mom walked away and then came back with two towels. "Aren't you cold?" She asked as she passed one to Cody and wrapped me up in the other one. "Freezing!" My teeth started to chatter.

"You guys go and get warmed up, I'll clean up this mess." She said and walked outside, Cody and I walked up to my bedroom. "What happened to you?" Rhianna asked. "He tried to drown me." I said sarcastically. "Why didn't you?" She asked, I rolled my eyes and walked into the bathroom.

"I'm first in the shower." I said before Cody got any ideas. "We could go in together." He flirted and pulled me closer to him. "Do you want to sleep in my bed tonight?" He nodded. "We both want me to." He kissed my neck.

"Not tonight." I pushed him away, he let out a loud groan. "Get out, I'm getting in the shower." I pointed to the door. "You can't get in the shower with clothes on." He held onto the band of my leggings. "Can you?" He whispered in my ear.

"Get ou-" "Oh look, they do match." Cody was impressed with his findings. "Cody!" I giggled as he tickled me. "Okay, I'm gone." He laughed and walked out. I locked the door before getting into the shower. The hot, soapy water felt good as it ran down my body.

I got ready for bed and went downstairs to eat, Cody was downstairs. "Do you own a shirt?" I asked him. "Someone got it wet." "Who was that?" I smirked. "You have others anyway." I wrapped my arms around his neck, his wrapped around my waist.

"You don't want me to put one on though." He whispered in my ear. "Dinner's ready!" Mom told us, we all ate. After dinner Cody and I went to bed, I took off my onsie and got into bed in my underwear. Cody came out of the bathroom and joined me in bed.

"You're such a tease." He moaned, I giggled. "I don't know what you're on about." I lied, Cody got on his hands and knees and hovered over me. "I think you do." He whispered as his eyes connected with mine. "You're beautiful." His eyes scanned my face and then reconnected with mine.

"So beautiful.." He leaned down and kissed my lips, just as he went to pull away I pulled him down. I traced my fingers over his bare back, Cody's thumb rubbed my cheek gently as we kissed. "You're so special." He told me, I smiled.

"I love you so much." He kissed me again, I kissed back. "You better not be doing what I think you are." I heard Rhianna's annoying voice. Cody rolled off me, I sat up holding the sheets against me. I didn't wanna show her my bra.

"Obviously not." "What was I thinking then?" She smirked, I rolled my eyes. "Good night." I layed down with my head on Cody's shoulder. "Good night, Cody." Rhianna said in a flirty voice. Cody squeezed my side but didn't say anything.

After a while of silence I felt Cody's warm, soft lips on the back of my shoulder. I'd rolled over so I wasn't facing him anymore. "No, Cody." I told him. He pulled my body into his and held me tightly against him. "Why not? She's asleep." "No." "Come on." He pressed his lips against me again.

"I said no." I pushed him away with my hips, Cody grabbed onto them. "You can do that all you want." He teased me. "Cody!" "Shh!" He shushed me. "Stop then." "You're no fun." "You're annoying." "I'm going to get something to drink." He got out of bed.

"You're just being stroppy now." I laughed and layed on my back. I waited for him to come back but he didn't, I got up and went to see where he was. "The monsters can't get you now, I'm right here and I won't let them hurt you." I heard Cody in Lilly's room.

I went and stood by the door so he wouldn't see me. "But what if you fall asleep?" "I'll stay awake for you." He kissed Lilly's head, she closed her eyes. "Cody." I whispered once I knew Lilly was asleep, he looked at me.

"Let's go to bed." "What's the point?" He asked. "I'm cold, come on." "No. I'm staying here." "Suit yourself." I went back and got into bed. I don't understand why he gets so stroppy. I was almost asleep when the door opened, Cody came and got into the bed.

"No." I told him before he even said or did anything. "I wasn't going to ask." He said with attittude. "Whatever." I turned my back away from him and closed my eyes. It was silent again for a while, I couldn't fall asleep sleep.

Cody pulled me into him like he did before but he was being careful this time. I knew he thought I was asleep so I closed my eyes. "I'm sorry." He whispered in my ear. "And I promise I won't let anything bad happen to you ever again." He promised.

I rolled around and faced him, I slowly opened my eyes and looked into his. "You do?" "I do." He kissed my nose. "Now go to sleep, it's late." He brushed my hair from my face. "I can't." I pouted, a light lit inside Cody's eye. "Wanna do something?" He asked, I nodded.

"Put some clothes on." He whispered, I got up and went into my closet. When I came out Cody had a hoodie on, he took my hand and led me down the stairs. "Shh." He put his finger to his lips, I nodded.

I unlocked the front door and we left the house, we walked down the drive and started walking. "Where are we going?" "No where." I gave him a weird look. "We're just going." He smiled, I started to run down the road. Cody ran after me. I felt so free.

"The beach is so perfect at night." I admired as I kicked the water. "Mmm." I could tell he wasn't listening to me but I didn't care. "Let's go in the ocean." I turned to look at Cody. "It's freezing!" "Don't be a baby!" "I'm not going in there." "Come on." I pleaded.

"Nope, it's not happening." He crossed his arms, I walked to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Come on, Cody." I whispered and kissed along his jawline. "This isn't going to work." "No?" I lifted up his shirt up a little and ran my hands over his warm skin.

I didn't look away from him as I did it, I slowly lifted his shirt higher and then took it off him. "Oopsy." I gasped, Cody laughed. I stepped backwards, Cody followed. Our eyes were still connected. He reached down and lifted my shirt up over my head.

His lips replaced it pretty quickly, I moaned softly as he kissed my sweet spot. His hands travelled up my back, I pushed him away before he could do what he wanted to. Unclip my bra. I dropped my shorts and ran into the freezing cold water.

"Come on!" I shouted at Cody, he shook his head. "You're going to be freezing!" "Don't be boring!" I saw a flash in the corner of my eye, I turned to look at it. Paps. Seriously? Just go away! "Lauren, come on! It's freezing, come out!" "Nope!" I splashed around in the water.

After a while I got bored and walked out of the water. "It's cold." I shivered as my teeth chattered. "I would say I told you so bu-" "But you're not going to do that or you'll be sleeping on the couch." I said before he could say anything.

"Can you get dressed now?" "What's the time?" "I'll tell you once you're dressed." I did as I was told and then asked for the time again. It's 2am and I have to be up in four hours. "Let's go home now." I pulled Cody off the beach.

"You're going to be so tired tomorrow." Cody laughed as we walked into the bedroom. "I'll tell the teachers it's my boyfriend's fault for being annoying." I changed from my wet underwear to some dry ones and got into bed.
