Chapter 42

"Lauren, Lauren wake up." I felt someone shake me, I opened my eyes slowly. "Hmm?" I asked sleepily. "I need to do some tests on you sweetie, and an injection." The nurse helped me sit up, I nodded. "And then can you help me walk to the restroom?" I asked, she agreed.

"Will you be okay in there alone?" The nurse stopped outside the bathroom door, I nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure I'll make it." I slowly walked into the room and closed the door. I went to the toilet and then came out again, the nurse was still stood there.

Down at the end of the hall I saw Cody walk past without seeing me. "That's Cody, can we go? I don't want him to worry." I said and tried to walk quicker. "Be careful, Lauren." I was reminded, I slowed down a bit. "Lauren?!" I heard Cody shout, once again I picked up the pace so I could get to him as I couldn't shout to save my life.

"Lauren?!" He shouted again, I could hear panic in his voice. I attempted to run once I saw him. Cody too ran towards me, I collapsed into his arms once I reached him. "Oh my gosh, you scared me." He confessed with his faced burried in my hair. "Never ever do that." He said and helped me stand up.

"Are you okay to walk her back?" The nurse asked, Cody nodded. "Want me to carry you?" "No, hold my hand. I think I can do it." I held onto his hand tightly as I walked, my legs felt like jelly after running to him, that was a bad idea.

"I wanna get out of this place." I said as I sat on the bed. "You can leave once you can walk without relying on someone else." "How do you know that?" "I asked yesterday." He shrugged, I nodded. "Did you tell your mom about our proposal?" I asked.

"What? We're getting married?" He asked with a smirk on his face, I laughed. "Cody.." I moaned, he laughed. "Yes, I told her and she said she'll join once you don't need her anymore." "So I'm going back to yours?" "Yes, you're going to stay at ours until you're able to be on your own which will be from a few days to a week." He informed.

"Alrighty then, thanks doc." I smiled. "It's alright, patient." He kissed my head and then sat down on the bed with me. We both layed down, I played with Cody's fingers. "You've got really big hands." I said as he held his palm against mine. "You've got baby hands."

"But they're cute." He kissed my hand, I smiled. "Just like a little baby." He paused. "My baby." "I love you." "I love you too.. My fans are worried about you." Cody said, I looked at him. "They obviously know about the crash and they've seen me out of hospital and I've tweeted and stuff but you've been in here the whole time with no phone and they're worried about you." "Aww."

"They were asking Alli and I if you were okay and we said you were but they just need you to tell them, you've got yourself a little fanbase." I smiled at the last bit. "Little dancer." He poked my side, I squirmed and giggled. "I told you they'd love you."

"Also, Jake's tweeted wondering about you as well as most of the crew and your favorite guy.. Mr Justin Bieber has been worrying about you too." "He has?" "He asked me what's up with it and I said you'd tweet him or text him when you get out."

"You still have no phone, aye?" I asked, he nodded. "That's our first thing once you're free, we're going to the mall." "I wanna have a shower and get dressed and just lounge around first." "Obviously." He laughed, I did too. We spent the whole day just talking and messing around, it was fast approaching the eveining and I knew I had to learn to walk once again.

"Okay, now we teach me to walk." I sat up and placed my feet on the floor. "Be careful." Cody walked around to where I was about to get up. "Hold my hands." He held them out, I slapped them away. "I don't need yo-" "Woah." He caught me before I hit the floor.

"Maybe I do need you." I giggled as I got my balance. Cody laughed too. "Now, I'm okay." I let go of him and started to walk. "Walk to the end of the hall and back." Cody said as he opened the door, I nodded. "Do it slowly and at your own pace."

"Aren't you comng?" I asked, he shook his head. "You said you don't need me." "If I fall, I'll blame you." "Sue me." He smirked and slapped my butt as I walked past him. "Cody!" I shouted, he laughed. "That really hurts." I moaned. "Want me to rub it better?" He flirted, I rolled my eyes and kept walking.

I made it all the way there and all the way back, it hurt a little bit but I'd much rather just get out of this place and lie on the couch or in Cody's bed. At around six o'clock I was discharged from the hospital, Cody and I walked down to the front doors.

"Alright, do we call a cab or get your mom or dad?" I asked. "I've still got a license." Cody chucked his keys in the air and caught them again. I froze. "No." "Lauren, I've been driving here and back home." He told me, I shook my head. "I'm safe." He ressured.

"No, it's not safe. The road isn't safe." I wouldn't budge. "Trust me." He pushed me fowards I didn't want to move. "Look, if it was an accident like you said it's not going to happen again." He pointed out, I involentarily followed him to the car. My head said no but my body trusted him.

We drove back to Cody's house, I was uneasy the whole way. We were greeted by Brad as we pulled up onto the drive. He helped me into the house. Alli had a bag full of my things. "I got these for you." She held up the bag, I nodded. "Thanks, is Trey at home?" "No, he's at work." She said.

"Oh right, shall we go upstairs?" I asked, Alli nodded and we went to her room. We both sat on the bed and talked about everything and nothing for about an hour. "So you're leaving tomorrow?" I layed down, Alli nodded.

"Tomorrow night." "Well at least we have the day together." "I, uh, have work." She said slowly, I sighed. "I'll guss I'll have to spend the day with Cody then." "Why is that a bad thing?" "It's not, I just wanted to spend some time with you." "Well, when I get back we can go to the mall and have a sleepover or something, yeah?" "Good idea Als." I smiled.

"Alli.." I started, she looked at me. "I need your help." I looked at the door to her bathroom. "With what?" "Actually no I don't but just stay in here when I have a shower just in case." I stood up slowly. "Shout me if you need help with anything?" She asked, I nodded.

"Be careful, Lon." She said, I laughed. "I'm not five, I can do it." I walked into the door when I said that. Alli burst out laughing, I did too. "Okay, I'll look where I'm going next time." I laughed. "You're not making it easy for me to trust you'll be okay." She laughed.

"Don't lock the door." She added, I obeyed as I closed the door. The second I turned the water on I relaxed, the hot, refreshing water made me feel so good. I cleared my head as I washed the soap off my body and washed my hair. I started to feel faint.. This isn't good.

The next thing I knew I was wrapped in a towel laying on Cody's bed. What? I slowly sat up as Cody came in. "Are you okay?" He asked me, I nodded. "Why am I in here?" I looked around the room. "You passed out while you were in the shower." He sat next to me.

"Seriously?!" I gasped, Cody nodded. "Alli came running in here saying you were laid on the floor with the water still running. Mom said you had fainted and told me to put a towel around you and leave you on my bed. I'm telling you, you scared everyone." He laughed slightly.

"I felt really faint but I don't remember falling or anything." I shrugged. "At least you're okay now, your clothes are on my desk." He pointed and got up. "I'll be downstairs if you need me." "You don't have to leave just so I can change." I said as I got up and walked over to his desk.

"It's fine, dad's just ordered chinese so I'll be downstairs." "Alright." I waited for him to leave and then changed into my onsie. I went and joined everyone downstairs once I was ready and we all ate while watching tv. I liked how there was no fuss made over me, I hate that.

"Alrighy, bed time missy." Cody lifted me up once we were finished with dinner. "I can walk." I said as he carried me bridal style. "I'd so much rather carry you." I laughed and leaned my head on his shoulder. He threw me on the bed, I giggled and stood up on my knees.

"Oi! Don't throw me!" "Whatcha gonna do?" He teased me, I jumped off the bed and jumped onto him. Cody spun me around and then threw me back on the bed. I tried to get up by he pushed me back down, I giggled at him. "Come on, get up." He laughed.

I tried again but he pushed me down again, I giggled and gave up. "I'm having a shower, I'll be back in a minute." He kissed my forehead and walked over to him wardrobe. I watched him as he took off his shirt and then undid his pants, he turned and looked at me. I looked away quickly.

"I can see you, Miss Miller." He laughed, I giggled. He took off his pants, grabbed a towel and walked into his bathroom. I sighed and then got up, I changed from my onsie to just my underwear because it's too hot.

Once Cody came back out I was watching tv, Cody stopped and looked at me. "May I help you?" I didn't move my eyes from the tv. "What happened to your clothes?" "Damn, am I naked again?" I asked sarcastically as I looked down at my body, Cody laughed.

"Seriously, Lauren." "It's too hot." I layed down on the bed. Cody's eyes were fixed on my body. "Get dressed, Simpson." He did as he was told and crawled up to me on the bed. "I would tell you to do the same but I'm not sure I'd like that as much." He whispered against my lips.

"Down boy." I teased, he looked down at my body. "I mean it." I lifted his chin to look back at my face. "Just a little bit." He kissed me, I laughed. "No, I'm so ill." I pretended. "If you're ill then you should still be at the hospital." Cody got under the blankets, I did the same.

"I just got better." "Wow! That was so quick!" Cody said sarcastically, I laughed and burried my face in his neck. He wrapped his arms around me protectivly. "You're freezing." He noticed. "Keep me warm then." "Baby, put some clothes on." "I have clothes on." He ignored me and got out of bed.

I watched him get one of his hoodies and walk back over to me. "Nooo." I squirmed and rolled away, Cody laughed and pulled me back to him by my leg. He sat on me with a leg either side. "Put it on!" "Never!" I shouted, he laughed.

I heard the door open, we both looked over at it. "Cody, get off her." "Yeah Cody." I stuck my tongue out at him. Brad laughed at me. "Tell her to put something on." He said as he got off me. "He is right, Lauren." "Bu-" "No, put the hoodie on." Cody said in a more serious tone.

"Sorry dad." I smirked as I put it on, Cody watched me intensly. Brad said good night and left. Cody was still looking at me. "What?" I asked, he looked away. "Nothing." He smiled, I gave him a weird look. "No, what was that look for?" I cuddled up to him under the blankets.

"Just because I love you so much." "Nice try, Simpson." "Quit calling me that, you know I don't like it." I giggled. "Love you." I kissed his jawline. "Love you too." Once again his arms wrapped around me and held me against him protectivly. I'm so happy to be back with him.
