I got ready like I did every morning for the cafรฉ. Since it was Saturday, there was no university today, which already made the day feel lighter. I changed my clothes slowly, taking a bit more care than usual. Today was Valentine's Day.
On my bed lay a small box. Inside were two matching bracelets simple, delicate, nothing flashy, but meaningful. Something we could both wear. I smiled to myself, imagining Jungwon's reaction, then slipped the box into my bag and headed out.
When I arrived at the cafรฉ, the familiar bell rang softly as I opened the door. The warm smell of coffee wrapped around me immediately.
Jungwon was already there, working behind the counter.
Jungwon:"Sohee," he said, looking up.
Sohee:"Good morning," I replied with a smile.
Jungwon:"Good morning."
He seemed... shy. More than usual. His movements were a little stiff, his gaze lingering on me for half a second too long before looking away. I found it cute.
I went to the back to change, tying my apron, when I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see Jungwon standing there, hands tucked nervously into his pockets.
Jungwon:"Hey..." he started.Jungwon: "I wanted to ask... would you like to do something together later?"
I didn't even hesitate.Sohee:"Yeah, of course."
I leaned in and kissed his cheek lightly. I felt him freeze for a second, then relax. When I pulled away, his ears were bright red.
We worked for a while after that, side by side, exchanging small smiles, brushing hands accidentally on purpose. The cafรฉ was busy, but the atmosphere felt warm, almost softer than usual. Eventually, our shift ended and the next team took over.
I stepped outside first, the cool air brushing against my skin. I waited in front of the cafรฉ, rocking slightly on my feet. A moment later, Jungwon came out.
He was holding flowers.
Not roses my favorite kind. Soft-colored, delicate, thoughtful. The kind that showed he paid attention.
He walked up to me and held them out awkwardly.
Jungwon:"For you..."
My heart melted instantly.Sohee:"Thank you so much."
I hugged him tightly, burying my face against his shoulder. He smelled like coffee and something warm and familiar. I felt his arms wrap around me a second later, careful but sincere.
I slipped my arm through his, and we started walking together. We didn't talk much, just enjoyed the quiet, the sound of our footsteps, the closeness. The city slowly faded behind us until we reached the beach.
As soon as I saw it, I stopped.
There was a table set up right on the sand. Two chairs facing each other. Candles flickering gently in the breeze. Food arranged carefully, like something out of a dream.
I turned to Jungwon, eyes wide.
Sohee:"What... what is this?"
He scratched the back of his head, clearly nervous, a small smile tugging at his lips.
Jungwon:"It's for you."
For a moment, I couldn't speak. My chest felt tight in the best way. No one had ever done something like this for me before.
Sohee:"Jungwon..." I whispered.
He pulled out a chair for me, and we sat down together.
As we sat there together, the soft sound of the waves filling the air, we finally began to eat. The candlelight flickered gently between us, and for a moment everything felt unreal, like a dream I didn't want to wake up from.
Then Jungwon reached under the table and pulled out a small box.
Jungwon:"Well... there's something else," he said quietly.
The packaging immediately caught my attention. It was cute, carefully wrapped, almost too pretty to open. My eyes widened when I realized what it was.
Sohee:"Wait," I said, leaning closer. Sohee:"Is that...?"
He nodded.
Jungwon:"They're Dubai-style chewy cookie."
My jaw dropped.
Sohee:"I can't believe this," I said, looking at him in shock. Sohee:"You really made these yourself?"
Jungwon:"Yes," he answered simply, but I could tell he was a little proud trying not to show it too much.
Sohee:"I've wanted to try these forever," I said, already opening the box. Sohee:"And you knew that."
He just smiled.
Jungwon:"I had to."
Sohee:"I need to try one right now," I said, not waiting another second.
I picked one up carefully and took a bite.
My eyes immediately widened.
Sohee:"Oh myโ" I froze. Sohee:"This is... this is the best thing I've ever eaten."
The cookie was soft and chewy, the chocolate rich and warm, melting perfectly. I closed my eyes for a second, completely overwhelmed.
Jungwon laughed softly.
Sohee:"What?" I asked, opening my eyes.
He pointed at my face, still smiling.
Jungwon:"Your mouth is full of chocolate powder."
Sohee:"Whatโ?" I panicked slightly. Sohee:"Oh no."
I tried to wipe it away quickly, but that only made it worse. Jungwon laughed harder, and soon I was laughing too, unable to stop.
Jungwon:"Wait, don't move," he said, leaning closer.
He gently wiped the chocolate from the corner of my lips with his thumb, his touch soft and careful. My heart skipped.
Jungwon:"There," he said. Jungwon:"Much better."
I felt my face heat up.Sohee:"Thank you," I murmured.
We finished eating slowly after that, sharing the cookie, talking, laughing. My heart felt so full of warmth, love, and gratitude. He had put so much thought into everything. Into me.
When we were done, silence settled in again, calm and comfortable.
That's when I suddenly felt nervous.
I reached into my bag, fingers brushing against the small box inside. My heart started racing.
Sohee:"So... um," I began, avoiding his gaze for a moment.
Jungwon looked at me, curious. Jungwon:"Yeah?"
I took a deep breath and pulled it out.
Sohee:"I have something for you too."
I handed him the box, my hands shaking slightly. He took it carefully and opened it.
Inside were the matching bracelets one with a small sun charm, the other with a moon.
He stared at them for a moment, then looked up at me.
Jungwon:"Wow," he said softly.Jungwon:"Are these... matching? For us?"
I nodded, suddenly shy.Sohee:"The sun and the moon," I said quietly. Sohee:"Different, but always connected. I thought... it suited us."
His expression softened completely. He picked up the bracelet slowly, like it was something fragile and precious.
Jungwon:"I love it," he said. Jungwon:"I really do."
He put the moon bracelet on his wrist, then gently took my hand and fastened the sun bracelet around mine. His touch lingered.
Jungwon:"Thank you, Sohee," he said, looking at me with so much warmth it made my chest ache. Jungwon:"I'll treasure this."
I smiled, eyes stinging slightly.Sohee:"I'm glad."
After that, we stood up together and slipped our shoes off, leaving them in the sand. The night air was cool, but it felt refreshing against my skin. We walked closer to the shoreline, letting the water reach our feet. I gasped softly when the cold waves touched me, and Jungwon laughed.
Jungwon:"Cold?" he asked.
Sohee:"A little," I replied, smiling. Sohee:"But it feels nice."
He stepped deeper into the water and splashed some toward me.Sohee:"Hey!" I protested, laughing as my pants got wet.
I splashed him back without thinking, and soon we were both laughing, stepping in and out of the waves, our feet soaked, our laughter mixing with the sound of the ocean. For a moment, nothing else existed no worries, no past, no future. Just us, barefoot at the beach, acting silly and free.
I looked at him then, his smile bright even in the dim light, and my heart felt unbearably full.I couldn't have wished for a better boyfriend. Not in this life, not in any other.
After a while, the tiredness slowly caught up with us. We walked back to where our shoes were, brushing the sand off our feet. Jungwon took his phone out and called a taxi. While we waited, I leaned against him, resting my head on his shoulder. He wrapped an arm around me naturally, like it was the most normal thing in the world.
During the ride to his place, I stared out the window, watching the city lights pass by. My reflection stared back at me, softer, calmer. I felt grateful so deeply grateful for this moment, for him, for everything we had built together.
When we arrived, Jungwon opened the door, and the moment I stepped inside, I froze.
The apartment was decorated with soft lights, small heart-shaped decorations, candles placed carefully around the room. Everything felt warm and cozy, filled with love.
He looked at me nervously.
Jungwon:"I hope I decorated it nicely," he said, scratching the back of his neck.
I turned to him, eyes wide, heart racing.Sohee:"More than nicely," I said honestly. Sohee:"It's perfect."
I leaned forward and gave him a quick kiss on the lips, light but full of affection. He smiled immediately, that shy smile I loved so much, and we went inside together.
On the couch, he had prepared snacks my favorites. Next to them were two neatly folded matching pajamas.
Sohee:"You didn't," I said softly, picking one up.
Jungwon:"I did," he replied, smiling proudly.
Everything was cute. Thoughtful. Perfect in a way that only comes from genuine love.
We both hurried to shower, laughing as we rushed past each other. When I came out, dressed in the matching pajamas, Jungwon was already waiting. He looked so comfortable, so at home, that my chest tightened again.
We sat down on the couch together, legs tangled, blankets pulled over us. That's when he suddenly stood up and came back holding something.
It was an Instax camera.
My eyes lit up.Sohee:"Wow," I said. Sohee:"That's so cool."
Jungwon:"Let's take pictures," he said. Jungwon:"I want to remember this."
He sat back down next to me, setting the camera up. We leaned closer, cheeks touching.
Click.
The camera whirred softly as the photo printed out. We waited, watching the image slowly appear. It was us smiling, relaxed, happy.
We took more pictures after that. Silly ones. Cute ones. One where he kissed my cheek. One where I laughed too hard. Each photo captured a moment I never wanted to forget.
At the end, he picked one carefully and walked to the kitchen, placing it on the fridge with a magnet.
Jungwon:"There," he said. Jungwon:"So I see you every day."
My heart melted completely.
I stood behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist, resting my forehead against his back.
Sohee:"This is the best Valentine's Day I've ever had," I whispered.
He turned around slowly, holding my face gently.
Jungwon:"Mine too," he said.
He looked at me deeply, really deeply, as if the whole world had gone quiet just for us. His eyes searched mine, warm and full of something unspoken. I didn't hold back. I leaned in and kissed him and he kissed me back instantly, like he had been waiting for it.
The kiss was soft at first, filled with love and tenderness. It wasn't rushed, it wasn't needy in a desperate way it was gentle, careful, full of emotion. My heart felt like it was about to burst. His lips were warm, familiar, and comforting, and yet they still made my breath falter every time.
He slowly lifted me and sat me down on the edge of a cabinet, his hands steady, protective. I wrapped my arms around his neck as we kept kissing, our foreheads brushing between soft kisses. Our breathing grew shallow, not because of urgency, but because neither of us wanted this moment to end. It felt like time had slowed down just for us.
His hands found my hips, holding me gently, lovingly, like I was something precious. That simple touch made my heart race uncontrollably. Everything about him felt safe his touch, his presence, the way he leaned in as if the rest of the world didn't exist.
Then he lifted me again, effortlessly, and carried me to the couch. I laughed softly in surprise, but the moment I sat down, he was already there, close to me again. We kissed once more, deeper this time, our lips moving together naturally, comfortably, as if we had always known how to fit like this.
I reached for the hem of his T-shirt without thinking, my fingers brushing against the fabric. He smiled softly and whispered a quietJungwon:"no," not harshly, just teasing, affectionate. I pouted playfully.
Sohee:"What a shame," I joked, making him laugh.
We slowly pulled away, our foreheads resting together for a moment as we caught our breath. There was no awkwardness only warmth and contentment. We moved closer on the couch, curled up together, his arm wrapping around me as if it belonged there.
He turned on a movie, something light and fun. We grabbed snacks, sharing them between us, occasionally stealing pieces from each other just to tease. We laughed a lot real, genuine laughter that filled the room and made everything feel even more alive.
I rested my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat, feeling his hand absentmindedly play with my hair. The movie played in the background, but it didn't really matter. What mattered was this quiet happiness, this simple moment of being together.
Jungwon was everything I needed and everything I wanted. Lying there beside him, I felt it with a quiet certainty that didn't need words. He had given me the most beautiful day I could ever imagine not because of grand gestures alone, but because every moment with him felt intentional, warm, and real.
We were stretched out comfortably on the couch, my head resting on his shoulder, my body fitting naturally against his. His arm was wrapped around me, holding me close in that effortless way that made me feel safe, like this was exactly where I was meant to be. The movie was still playing, its soft sounds filling the room, but neither of us was really paying attention anymore.
I could hear his breathing, slow and calm, and feel the gentle rise and fall of his chest beneath my cheek. Every now and then, he would move slightly, adjusting so I was more comfortable, his fingers brushing over my arm or lightly playing with my hand. Those small, unconscious touches meant more to me than anything else in that moment.
My mind was peaceful so rare, so precious. For once, there were no worries about tomorrow, no thoughts about responsibilities or time passing too fast. There was only him, only us, wrapped in this quiet bubble of warmth and love. My heart felt full, almost to the point where it hurt, but in the best way possible.
I looked up at him for a second, studying his face. The way his eyelashes rested softly against his skin, the relaxed expression he had when he wasn't trying to be strong for anyone. He looked so gentle, so human, and I felt overwhelmed with affection. Loving him felt natural, like breathing.
I wished more than anything that I could stop time right there. Freeze this exact moment forever. Stay curled up against him, listening to his heartbeat, feeling his warmth, knowing that I was loved and that I loved him just as deeply. I didn't need anything else. No words, no promises, no future plans in that second.
Just this feeling.This closeness.
This love.
End.
