The Return

Lapis woke up in some sort of cell, a yellow force field in front of her. She screamed out "Peridot!" before she began remembering what had happened. She knew Peridot wouldn't answer.

Her throat was already hoarse, a bad taste lingered in her mouth. She laid on her back and stared at the ceiling, the floor chilly on her gem. She tried to stop thinking about Peridot, but she couldn't. Why has she done that? Why would she tell her to break her gem?

That couldn't be her. She couldn't have done that by her own free will.

... could she have?

After hours- maybe days, she wasn't keeping track- of laying there, she heard a faint singing from somewhere in the ship. She couldn't recognize the voice.

A-a-a-a-ahA-a-a-a-ahA-a-a-a-ah

She started coming up with lyrics of her own.

All I wantedW-a-a-a-asLo-o-o-o-oveLo-o-o-o-ove...

A bit closer, she heard yelling.

"Lapis!"
