"Oh no..."

With a clatter, Emerald and Bismuth fell to the ground, retreating into their broken gems. The other Crystal Gems knew that they couldn't save them, and Rose reluctantly bubbled them and sent them back to the temple, promising to heal them one day. She had tried, but... it was too late.

The next day marked another millennium, and so Rose ventured off to the Galaxy Warp to retrieve the new Gems. She found two sitting there, not yet in their physical forms, and scooped them up gently in her arms.

"A Peridot... hmm, an intelligent young Gem, this one..." She closely observed the second stone with curiosity. "And..." Just as she started to figure it out, the blue stone soared into the air, and the Gem inside took her physical form. Hers was simple,  a blue and black dress with a few bright golden threads weaving their way through the plain fabric. Her hair was long and flowing, the color of a deep, wavy ocean. She hit the ground with a small thud and immediately started to look around, almost in fear.

"W-where am I?" she cried.

Rose tried to calm her down, but the young Gem saw the Peridot in her hands and started to attack, ferociously clawing at her arms and dress and trying to grab the bright green stone.

"What did you do to her? Give her back!" She was screaming now, her anger evident in the crashing waves starting to flood the warp. Instead of floating into the air, Peridot's gem clattered down to the ground and splashed into the water as her form took shape.

She was a lot more complex in her design, with a black and green jumpsuit with triangles on the chest and down the legs. Her hair stuck straight up and was pointed in a pyramid shape. As she formed, she started to sink, thrashing her arms and legs to no avail. The strange and mysterious girl of blue tried to force the waves back, screaming "Peri! Peri!" and trying to find her amid the chaos she had caused.

She reached under the waves and grabbed her small green hand, pulling her to her feet and hugging her.

"I'm okay, Lapis... don't worry about me..." the calm green girl assured her. She then turned to Rose, an apologetic look on her face. "Sorry about the water... we'll help you clean it up. My name is Peridot."

Rose was understanding, as she always was. She knew how hard leaving home could be.

"L-Lapis Lazuli, ma'am." Lapis introduced herself in a timid whisper.

"We'd better get you two to the temple." Rose replied. She took Peridot's hand gently, and Lapis clung to Peridot's arm like a magnet as they stepped onto the warp and went to their new home.
