Part 9

The air started to cool down a bit and goosebumps formed on my arms.It wasn't really cold, just a cool breeze enveloping me. I was blindly following behind Grace, who apparently knew exactly where she was heading .

"What kind of party is that even that you heard about. " I asked. The question had been sitting on my tongue ever since leaving the restroom.

"I dont know."

"What do you mean you don't know.?"My question was left unanswered. Grace didn't look at me just walking with a quick paste towards a smaller set area."How did you even find out about this?"I asked again as we arrived. Just about 100 people were standing in front of a smaller stage.

Finally, grace turned towards me and answered my question. "This group walked past me saying that there is gonna be a big party. "

"So you didn't even question anything?" I asked in disbelief. "I guess I just heard party and was like hell yeah," said Grace with a straight face, but she didn't last long before breaking out in laughter. Her laugh contaging me as well. Who knows what we maybe just got ourselves in.

More and more people arrived, and soon, the area had filled up .Probably about 1000 people squeezed themselves as close to the stage as possible.

I could feel my phone vibrat in the back pocket of my shorts. I kinda forgot i put it there ,so I was glad it was still there and hadn't been stolen without me noticing. As I unlocked my phone, I saw that Claudia had texted me.____Claudia Hey,Valerie Billie's having this party at Coachella In about 30 minutes.

I know you don't really wanna see her, butI thought you still would like to come.

And maybe we could meet up after.I told Finneas that I had met you earlier and he really wants to see you again

Anyway, let me know if you're gonna come.____

Shit.

I dont think I would survive a nother encounter with Billie. And on top of that, what would I tell Grace. She still doesn't know anything about me ever being friends with Billie . And I think that's kinda a big bomb to drop just like that. Regarding that, Grace is a big Billie Eilish  fan.

ValerieHey,Claudia. I dont think that would be a good idea.But you ,me, and Finneas should definitely meet up when we are back in LA.And I'm already at a party with my friend Grace anyway.

"Who are you texting?"I looked back up from my phone, seeing that even more people had shown up.

"Oh, just my friend from earlier." I answered Grace's questions while looking around. I realized that there were now a bunch of people on stage. But I don't think I know any of these people.

"I'm still wondering what's gonna happen now ." I said, finally turning my eyes away from stage and back to Grace.

"Oh , I know what's gonna happen . They just announced on Instagram that-" the rest of Graces words were swallowed by the crowd erupting in cheers. I instantly snapped my head back towards the stage where a guy with a mic had made his way up.

The whole stage had now filled up with people. "Are you guys ready to have  some fun?" The guy shouted in the mic, making the crowd erupt again.

I looked around the stage, trying to see if I would recognize anyone who would help me understand what was happening here. When suddenly my eyes caught a glimpse of someone.

Claudia.

What was she doing on stage? And that's when it hit me. If Claudia was here, that meant - Oh no. This was Billies party that Claudia had invited me to . The one I had kindly declined because I knew that seeing Billie tonight again would make me crash out.

Only a few minutes later , Billie made her way on stage.

Was the univere punishing me or what?

Running into Billie twice tonight after not seeing her for 5 years. Where is the hidden camera.

"Make it up for Billie, everybody!" Said the guy again before passing the mic to Billie, who looked chill as always. She was wearing a different outfit than the one she wore for Lanas set. Now she wore a pair of baggy shorts and a loose basketball tanktop.

Her hair had been pulled back into a ponytail, and sitting on top was a backward cap.

"So I will play you guys some bits of my new album later, but for now, let's have some fun." Billies voice flooded through the crowd.

Music started to play, and everyone began to dance. Just vibing and having fun. I grabbed Graces Hand and began to dance as well ,blending out everything else. And it actually worked. Grace and I had so much fun together, dancing and shouting lyrics to some bangers, playing.

As the music started fait away,I was brought back into reality .

"So are you guys ready to listen to some of my stuff ,or what?" the crowd erupted.I looked over at Grace next to me who was in such a complete awe. Her favorite artist was about to play some of her new songs that no one else had listened to before.

I shlung  my arms around Grace, enveloping her in a hug but not letting go. I was just so happy right now. This entire night, I have been so grateful for my amazing friends that I could rely on and that I love soo much.

Grace here with me and Chris off somewhere with a guy.

The music already started playing but I zoned it out, reaching for my phone in my pocket to check up on Chris.____ChrisGetting some drinks now , he seems really nice

He just went to the restroom, but shit he is soo hot

So I'm definitely going home with him tonight so don't wait up for me

Hope you two have as much fun as me

Valerie Sorry for just checking in nowWe are at some party and just lost track of time

But stay safe please,Chris!

Chris No problem!And no worry I'll look after myself

Valerie Ok, then have a good night

Chris Oh I definitely will.But you too, Valerie. Just let a little loose.

I left Chris message on read and put my phone back in my pocket.

"So the next song is called "Lunch", so yeah enjoy I guess " Billie started cackeling on stage.

Wow I really missed the sound of Billie laughing. Ok no Valerie you have to stop thinking about her. It's all in the past now.

The first notes of the song began filtering through the speakers again.

"I could eat that girl for lunch"

What the fuck...
