Chapter 27: Meeting Again

Narrator POV

"M-Mwoh?!"

Chanyeol said.

"I-I need someone to take me to the Arrgg! Hospital!"

HyeRim said in pain.

"A-Arraseo! I-I'll call Sehun to get you!"

Chanyeol said, ending the call. Chanyeol ended the call and called Sehun.

"Sehun!"

"M-Mwoh!?"

Sehun asked, confused and surprised.

"I need you to pick up HyeRim!"

Chanyeol said hurriedly.

"W-Wae?!"

Sehun asked.

"She's in labor!"

Chanyeol said, heading to his boss's office.

"A-Arraseo!"

Sehun said. Chanyeol entered his boss's room to leave early...

"I'm here! I have my wife with me to help!"

"Y-YoungJun!"

HyeRim shouted, as she felt the pain of childbirth again.

"YeSun! Go and use my car to pick up YoungJun from the daycare and bring him to the hospital!"

He said, while helping HyeRim walk to her car.

"Do you have your car keys?"

Sehun asked HyeRim.

"Ne."

HyeRim grunted. After setting HyeRim in the passenger seat, Sehun grabbed the keys and started the car, whereas his wife, YeSun went to get YoungJun from the daycare.

"WE GOT A WOMAN IN LABOR!"

Cried one of the nurses, rushing HyeRim in with a wheelchair. HyeRim was breathing in and out as Sehun ran along with the nurse.

Soon, Chanyeol arrived afterwards and asked the front desk lady where HyeRim was. The lady instructed Chanyeol where HyeRim was and Chanyeol ran as fast as he could. He reached the room and saw HyeRim breathing heavily. She began sweating as she felt the baby coming. Chanyeol quickly came to her side and held her hand. HyeRim opened her eyes and saw Chanyeol.

"C-Chanyeol..."

She whispered.

"It's okay... I'm here... Just breath... You can do this!"

Chanyeol encouraged. HyeRim smiled and nodded. HyeRim laid her head back, while Sehun and Chanyeol both stood next to her.

Sehun's wife then came into the room a few moments later and told Sehun that she had picked up YoungJun and that YoungJun was waiting in the waiting room with Kris and Kris's wife along with their children. A nurse then came in after YeSun said that and said that she was going to check the diameter of HyeRim's sex to see if she was ready.

"She's ready...."

The nurse said.

"Ready to be a mother of another one?"

The nurse asked happily. HyeRim smiled and said,

"Yes...."

Chanyeol slightly smiled at HyeRim. Even though, this was going to be Kai's last child, she still seemed so happy to take care of her children.

The nurse wheeled HyeRim to the labor room and set her up. HyeRim, who was still breathing heavily, felt a sudden pain.

"Ah! I-It hurts!"

HyeRim said. The doctor came to her and saw that she was ready.

"Okay... I need you to push as hard as you can."

The doctor said.

"Just breath and push as hard as you can."

The doctor instructed. HyeRim nodded and began pushing. Throughout the whole process, HyeRim was screaming, pushing, squeezing hands, and in pain, then....

"Wahh~ Wahh~"

She heard. HyeRim quickly felt relief, until...

"Wait! I need you to keep pushing!"

The doctor said. HyeRim suddenly lifted her head.

"W-What!?"

She said.

"You have another one!"

"T-Twins!?"

Chanyeol stuttered. HyeRim didn't give it another thought and began pushing once more. She was about to give out and was out of energy after delivering the first one. She felt as if she was going to give out.

"JUST ONE MORE PUSH!"

The doctor shouted. HyeRim pushed once more with all of her strength, then...

"Wahhhhh~"

HyeRim then blacked out.

"H-HyeRim!? HyeRim?!"

Chanyeopl called.

"HyeRim!!"

Sehun called as well.

HyeRim POV

I suddenly blacked out. The sounds of Chanyeol and Sehun calling me were slowly echoing away until I couldn't hear anything anymore. I found myself standing in a dark, black room. I looked to the ground to find myself standing on the white circle. I began walking and saw a light up ahead. I began walking towards it, hoping to get out of the darkness. As I reached the light, I noticed that I was out on a field.

"A field?"

I said.

"Not just any field?"

A familiar voice said. My eyes were getting teary-eyed as I heard that voice. I turned around to see the one and only...

"Anyoung.... Yobo..."

He said.

"Kai!"

I quietly whispered, while running towards Kai. Tears were running down my cheeks as I jumped into Kai's big, warm arms. Kai hugged me tightly.

"I missed you... I missed you so much..."

I said, as I could feel and touch Kai after so many months. He smelled exactly how he used to and he felt the same as well.

"I missed you too."

Kai responded. I removed myself from Kai's shoulder and looked at his eyes. I kissed him passionately and he did the same. Kai then departed from the kiss and said,

"I missed you so much... You have no idea, how much I've been wanting to see you."

Kai said, smiling. I always missed his dazzling smile, but then...

"W-Why are you crying?"

Kai asked, caressing my face.

"Oh.. It's just... It's been hard... Living without you."

I said. Kai smiled and lifted my face towards him.

"You've done well... My sweet little HyeRim."

Kai said. I smiled back at him as Kai wiped away my tears.

Kai and I then sat down in the grass and Kai suddenly asked,

"So... How's YoungJun?"

"Well... He misses you a lot.... He tells me that he wants to see you..."

HyeRim said.

"Really? I miss him a lot too..."

"He always says that same phrase that you told him all the time."

"Ah! You mean the don't cry phrase!"

Kai said.

"Yeah... He always says that when he's about to cry and in the end he stops crying like he always did when you told him that."

"Hehe... I didn't think he'd remember to be honest."

Kai replied.

"Haha.... You know... Just before this... I was giving birth..."

"I know..."

Kai replied.

"What? How did you know?"

I asked.

"I just do.... Instinct."

Kai said, holding my hand tightly.

"So you know that I have twins?"

I asked.

"What!? You had twins!? Wow! My member is so powerful! And! We got to our magic number!"

Kai exclaimed.

"You're so immature!"

I laughed. Kai smiled and pecked my cheek.

"There's your beautiful smile."

He said.

"I missed it."

He continued. I smiled some more and then...

"Kai.... I'm scared."

I said as my smile began to fade. Kai looked worried as he saw me.

"W-why?"

He asked, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"I'm scared of taking care of them alone... What do I do if I can't do it alone? I'm scared of doing this. I can't do this without you, you know."

I said, almost in tears. Kai then moved in front of me and looked at me in the eyes.

"HyeRim... I know it's hard without me... But I know that you can do this... I trust that you can do the best you can with them and I know that you will be able to take care of them, even without my help... I love you, HyeRim... And I know that you can do this. Plus... You have Chanyeol, Sehun, and Kris if you need any help at all."

Kai said lovingly. HyeRim then tried to suck up her tears and looked at Kai. Kai smiled.

"Okay... I think it's times up from here."

He said.

"W-What?"

I asked. Kai helped me up from the ground and hugged me tightly.

"HyeRim.... It's not time for you to join me yet... It's still too early...I know you want to be with me and I know I left you early too, but it's not time for you to leave the children early too.. They are still too young to have to lose both of their parents... So... Go be with them... You know.... I'm lucky that I was able to talk to you again... I'm glad that I could talk to you and actually say goodbye, unlike the last time I talked to you... Haha.... Come back when you're at least 100 years old, Okay?"

"100?!"

I said bewildered.

"I'm kidding... Come whenever you live the longest and happiest life you have ever lived... And when YoungJun and our twins are old, married, and have children of their own..."

Kai said.

"Okay... I'll go back... Can I have one last hug?"

I asked.

"Okay...."

Kai said, smiling as much as he could. He hugged me tightly. I felt his warm body and his heart slowly beating. It was like it was real.

"I love you Kai."

"I love you too... My beautiful wife, HyeRim... I'll always be waiting for you..."

He said. Kai kissed the top of my head and suddenly, everything went black again.

I woke up to find myself in a hospital bed. It was nighttime and Chanyeol was at my side. I saw that I was hooked up to an IV and saw Chanyeol holding my hand. I noticed that there were many flowers and balloons. I then got up from the bed, painfully, and remembered that I had recently gone through labor. I then decided to wake Chanyeol up.

"Chanyeol... Chanyeol..."

I said, shaking Chanyeol. Chanyeol's eyelashes fluttered.

"Arrgg..."

He groaned. He rubbed his eyes, until.

"HyeRim!"

He said. He quickly hugged me. He looked so worried.

"Thank god.... Thank god.... I was so afraid that I was going to lose you..."

Chanyeol said. I hugged Chanyeol back and afterwards I asked him what had happened.

"Well... You had the twins and they are fraternal twins. They were safely delivered and are in the nurse's care, but you were asleep for a couple of days."

Chanyeol said.

"Really?"

I said.

"Yeah... Sehun, Kris, their wives, and their kids would visit everyday to see if you've woken up yet. YoungJun is currently in Sehun's care, but he really missed you and was scared. Although, I told him that you would be okay and that you would wake up soon. But anyway... You should go to bed... It's really late."

Chanyeol said.

"Wait.... Can you take me to the twins?"

I asked. Chanyeol smiled and nodded. He led me down the hall towards the twins. We approached a window and saw many babies in there. In the very front were two little babies.

Narrator POV

"There."

Chanyeol pointed. HyeRim's eyes glistened.

"My little babies."

She said as she hand touched the glass. Chanyeol stared at her, smiling.

"You know, when you gave birth to the babies, one of the nurses asked if I wanted to hold one of them... It was scary at first, but it was like..."

Chanyeol then looked at HyeRim, who was still focused on the babies and HyeRim tried to focus on Chanyeol, but her eyes were unmoving when she saw her babies, sleeping away.

"W-What did you say?"

HyeRim asked. Chanyeol smiled.

"Nothing."

He said. Chanyeol put his arm around HyeRim as she watched her babies sound asleep.

"Did the doctor say they were healthy?"

HyeRim asked.

"Yeah... They're in perfect condition and they don't seem to have any health problems at all."

He said.

"I see... That's good...."

HyeRim said, smiling.

"Look, look, look... One of them is moving."

HyeRim said excitedly. One of the babies had their fingers moving as it slept. I looked as if it were trying to grab something. Chanyeol suddenly remembered something as he saw that.

*FLASHBACK*

"She lost conscienceness!"

"What happened?!"

Chanyeol exclaimed.

"It's nothing..."

One of the nurses said.

"Her vitals are fine, she just passed out because she was pushing too hard."

The nurse continued.

"Okay... That's good."

Chanyeol said.

"Would you like to hold one?"

Asked one of the other nurses.

"O-Okay."

Chanyeol said. The nurse handed him one of the babies and Chanyeol felt scared, but when he held one of them... He suddenly felt this feeling inside him.... A feeling to take care of the baby.

"So small."

Chanyeol muttered. Sehun patted Chanyeol's back and softly whispered.

"This is what it's like to be a father... Although it isn't your kid... It's magical when you're the first one to hold the baby...."

Chanyeol's eyes glistened as he saw the baby. The baby was groaning, moving his/her hands around, and kicking away. Chanyeol then moved his finger towards the baby's hand and the baby's fingers began to feel Chanyeol's big fingers. Suddenly,

*GRASP*

Chanyeol felt a sudden feeling burst in his heart.

"Look... The baby is holding your finger."

Sehun said. The baby's tiny fingers could barely even wrap around Chanyeol's finger. He felt that the baby was so tiny and so small.... He felt a sudden urge to protect this little thing. This little living being that was just born into this world.

"N-Nurse... What is the gender of this baby?"

Chanyeol asked.

"It's a girl."

The nurse happily said.

"A girl... The gender that Kai has always wanted."

Chanyeol smiled.

*FLASHBACK END*

Chanyeol then realized that it was really late and said,

"HyeRim... I think it's time to go back... You need to get some sleep..."

Hyerim pouted.

"I got it.... Appa."

She said. Chanyeol chortled. Chanyeol put his arm around HyeRim as they walked back.

A FEW YEARS LATER...

Chanyeol began living with HyeRim and moved out of his apartment so he could help HyeRim with taking care of the children. YoungJun was already 9 and the twins were already 4.

"YoungJun! MinKyu! MinSeo! I'm home!"

Chanyeol said happily, entering the house. Suddenly, you could hear a bunch of feet stamping on the ground upstairs. Chanyeol smiled brighter as he saw the little ones running down the stairs to greet him.

"Appa!"

They all shouted. Chanyeol's smile slightly faded, but he still smiled. HyeRim came downstairs and smiled as she saw Chanyeol.

"Welcome home."

HyeRim smiled. Chanyeol smiled back.

"I'm home."

He said.

That Night....

"HyeRim... Do you think it's okay?"

Chanyeol asked while HyeRim was washing the dishes.

"What do you mean?"

HyeRim questioned.

"I mean.... Earlier the kids said 'appa' when I came home... It makes me feel like I'm taking away Kai's existence and it... I don't like it... I feel like Kai would hate me for this."

Chanyeol confessed. HyeRim placed the dishes down and walked over the Chanyeol. She patted his back and Chanyeol looked at her.

"Chanyeol.... Kai doesn't care about petty stuff like this... He knows that if they children find out that they don't have a father and that he died, he knows how different they would be when they grow up. Of course, they will know soon, but for now, just let it be. YoungJun doesn't know this either because he was too young to understand. Also, I don't know why, but he called you 'dad' a lot when he was a kid."

HyeRim said. Chanyeol chortled.

"Okay.."

Chanyeol then turned towards HyeRim and hugged her by her hips.

"Ch-Chanyeol?"

HyeRim said.

"Let me stay like this for a while."

Chanyeol said. HyeRim softly smiled.

"Okay."

She whispered.

Years passed, the children grew, HyeRim and Chanyeol were getting older and older. Although HyeRim always thought of Chanyeol as a friend, Chanyeol didn't think the same. Even though Hyerim was Kai's wife, Chanyeol still had feelings for her... Chanyeol knew that she didn't have the same feelings and so... He buried his feelings as deep as he could so she would never know. HyeRim aged, Chanyeol aged, YoungJun aged, the twins aged, and it was as if time was passing by so fast. The children had already found out about their real father and they already have their own families. It's as if... Time was speeding up.

HyeRim was sitting in the hospital room. She knew her time was about to be up. She was an old grandma and Chanyeol was old as well. Chanyeol, who was always reliable and was always by her side, sat next to her, holding her hand.

"HyeRim..."

Chanyeol quietly muttered.

"C-chanyeol."

HyeRim said breathlessly.

"Y-Yes?"

He said.

"You know... You have always been there for me. You helped me in so many ways that I can't even count. Being with you and Kai made me completely forget about everything that happened to me in the past. Chanyeol... I know...."

HyeRim said.

"W-What do you mean you know?"

Chanyeol asked.

"Chanyeol.... I know that you love me. I've known for a long time now."

Chanyeol was about to cry.

"Mwoh-yah... You knew."

Chanyeol tried to smile.

"Yes.... I knew how much you loved me, yet I could never return the love you gave me. I'm sorry...."

HyeRim softly said. Chanyeol quickly shed a tear. Hyerim saw his tear drop to the ground. HyeRim then hold Chanyeol's hand.

"But at one point.... I did love you.... Chanyeol."

HyeRim confessed.

"Really?"

Chanyeol asked.

"Yes."

Hyerim smiled.

"I see..."

"I guess the pain isn't as bad now..."

Chanyeol said.

"Chanyeol... I think it's time."

HyeRim said.

"I see... Before you go.... I... I love you HyeRim..."

Chanyeol said, smiling before she went.

"Haha.... Goodbye Chanyeol...."

HyeRim closed her eyes.

HyeRim was now... Dead....

Chanyeol began to shed so many tears afterwards. He tried to stop them, but he couldn't.

"At least... I was able to tell you that I loved you..."

He said.

"Kai?"

"HyeRim."

Kai said as he held out his hand to HyeRim.

"I missed you."

HyeRim said in her youthful body.

"I missed you too."

Kai said as he hugged her tightly.

"Are you ready to go?"

Kai asked.

"Ne."

HyeRim smiled... Kai and HyeRim then walked deeper into the fields, slowly moving on into the beautiful world of heaven...
