Seven Attacks
04:17, 27 December 2023"What are you doing?"
"Getting more wood for the fire." Violet answered, giving the girl a confused look.
"Aren't you like, seven?"
"Yeah, what's it to you?"
"Do you even know how to build a fire?"
"The fires already built." Violet pointed to the fire a mere 25 yards away from her as she sighed. "Oh. Do you want some help?" "I'll be fine, but thanks," Violet groaned, picking up a few pieces of wood, as the girl did the same, "or not" she sighed. "I'm Lorie." "Violet.""Yeah, I know. You're kinda popular around here.""What's that mean?""Everyone knows who you are. You're kinda a big deal.""Why? I'm just a kid.""But you're not, you're the youngest kid from the Ark down here, and you've been in lock up from a younger age then anyone! You're surviving down here, everyones seeing you. You could use my help, I can be your big sister. You know, keep you safe and-"
"That's not happening, but thanks." "Come on, you know you want to!" "Leave me alone, okay?"
"CLARKE! WHERES CLARKE?" Violet stopped walking, looking up as she saw who was calling for Clarke. Connor.
"Oh my god, is that-" Lorie started."Blood." Violet cut her off.
Clarke came out of her tent, circling around towards Connor as he coughed, his hands covered in the red liquid.
"Come on, put this down and we'll go help." Lorie tapped her shoulder, as she nodded, both of them bringing the firewood over to the middle of camp.
"Clarke! What's happening?"
"Right here's good." Violet set the wood down, pointing to a spot that Lorie could put hers. The boy a few feet away from Violet, coughed, hunching over as he vomited, red blood all over the ground, barely missing Violets boots as Lorie grabbed her jacket, pulling her away.
"Oh my god." "CLARKE!" Violet yelled. "I'm bleeding." A boy mumbled, his nose dripping as he passed out, falling into another boy. Another boy vomited, as Clarke turned around, Raven emerging from the same tent Clarke was in.
"I'm gonna throw up." "What are you sick too?" Lorie put her hand on Violets forehead, feeling for any fever. "No, he almost puked on my shoe!" Violet moved her hand off her forehead.
"Come on, come wash your hands." Lorie grabbed a canteen of water off of a work station, rolling up Violets sleeves as she poured water over Violets hands.
"Stop," Lorie pushed Violets head away from where she watching the others by the fire, sick."You don't need to look."
"I need to check on my friends.""They'll be fine." "I'm checking on them anyways."
"Violet, no!" Lorie grabbed her wrists, holding them tight as Violet fought her.
"Let go of me! I need to check on my friends!""I don't want you getting sick, stop it!" "You? You don't want me getting sick? You barely know me, let go of me!" Violet scoffed, pushing against her with a struggle.
Violet grumbled, fighting against Lorie as she swore at her. "LET GO OF-"
Violet stopped, her sentence getting cut off by Lories hand suddenly covering her mouth, and one hand on her throat. "I do not care what you think you want, I know what's best. Capeesh?" Violet hesitated for a second, before nodding as Lorie peeled her hand away."You good now?"
"Screw you." Violet grabbed Lories wrists, pulling her down as she bashed her skull into Lories forehead, knocking her unconscious, as she fell onto the ground.
"Stupid idiot." Violet whispered, getting off of her knees, rubbing her forehead.
She looked around at who was where, a few people were tending to those who were ill, no sign of those she knew.
"Do you guys need help?" She walked over to those gathered around the fire, a few helping people into the dropship. "Yeah, help get people into the dropship," Somebody spoke, handing her a cloth, "put it over your mouth and nose."
She did as she was told, putting her arm around somebody's waist, helping them up as they coughed. "Come on, I got you." Violet whispered, "Calvin, right?" She looked at the boy she was helping as he nodded. She let him take his time, walking him towards the drop ship, one arm holding the cloth over her mouth and nose, and the other tightly wrapped around his waist. "Okay, here you go." She whispered, pushing the curtain out of the way. Dozens of other people were laying in the drop ship, while Violet watched somebody pulling a body out, placing in on a grey tarp just outside the drop ship, another body nearby.
"Lay him down over there." Clarke told her. "Here, lay down, watch your head." Violet whispered. "Thank you." Calvin whispered. "Violet you need to get out of here, now." Clarke spoke quietly. "I was just trying to help." "I know, but you don't need to help anymo- what the hell did you do to your head?" Clarke put her hand on Violets forehead, pressing on the swollen bump. "What?" Violet put her hand on her forehead, looking at the blood on her fingers. "Oh," she laughed nervously, "I don't know, I hit it somewhere I guess." "Go, go wash your hands and get out of here, okay? Thank you for helping."
Violet nodded, leaving the drop ship as she took the cloth off of her face, tossing it aside where others had left theirs. She poured a bottle of water over her hands, scrubbing the dirt off of them with a clean cloth, and using her shirt to dry them as she turned towards the front of the dropship, as people brought more bodies out of the dropship.
"ALRIGHT! SHOWS OVER, GET BACK TO YOUR POSTS!" Bellamy spoke loud enough for everybody to hear him. "You got enough food in there, water?" He turned around, looking at Clarke. "Yeah. Some medicine might be nice." "I'll see what I can do." He nodded,
"Octavia, you okay?" He raised his voice, which stopped Clarke as she turned back towards him again.Octavia had been another person volunteering to help out. He waited a few seconds for a reply, before starting to walk up the ramp, as Clarke sighed. "Bellamy, wait! She's not here. I sent her to see Lincoln." Bellamy's face scowled, as he stared at the ground for a moment.
Violet walked back towards the dropship, standing in a group with other people as she picked through a table of random clothes, looking for a different shirt to replace hers.
"Look, if there's a cure, he has it. I didn't tell you because I knew you wouldn't let her go." Clarke spoke.
"If anything happens to her, you and me are gonna have problems." "Bellamy, Bellamy wait!"
"Get out of my way!" Bellamy pushed past the group Violet was standing in, as one of the boys turned around. "Dude, your eyes!"
Violet looked at him, his eyes bloodshot and blood dripping down his cheeks.
"NOBODY TOUCH HIM!" Somebody shouted, a rifle pointed at him, as Bellamy began to back away.
"Get to the dropship, now!" Bellamy told him, as he started walking, at a painfully slow pace.
Violet turned feeling a hand against her shoulder as one of the girls stumbled, "Hey, are you okay?" Violet grabbed her arms, as she coughed spewing blood all over Violets face.
Violet yelped, touching her eyes with her hands.
"OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD ITS ON ME!" A boy yelled.
"GET AWAY! GET BACK, GET BACK."
People began screaming, and distancing themselves from each other as people yelled. "GET AWAY FROM HER!"
Violet shrieked, falling onto the ground as she tripped over something, "I CANT SEE!"
"CALM DOWN!" She heard Bellamy yell, the sound of guns cocking becoming alarmingly closer to Violet.
"HEY! PUT THAT GUN DOWN, PUT THAT GUN DOWN!"
"PUT IT DOWN!"
"STOP!"
A round of gunshots rang out, as people's screams began to quiet down, looking around as they saw Clarke holding a rifle. "T-this, is exactly what the grounders want. Don't you see that?"
"They don't have to kill us, if we kill each other first."
"They won't have to kill us if we all catch the virus! Get back in the damn drop ship!"
A loud clatter, followed by somebody grunting interrupted the silence.
"Not to state the obvious, but your quarantine isn't working."
"FINN! Don't touch her!" Raven shouted. Violet couldn't see what was going on, only hearing it as she stayed on the ground.
"Octavia, will come back with a cure." Clarke said audibly exhausted.
"THERE IS NO CURE!" Octavia yelled, coming through the gate as she came into the middle of the campsite.
"But the grounders don't use the sickness to kill.""Really? Tell that to them!" Bellamy argued.
Violet could only assume he was talking about the two people who had already died.
"I warned you, about seeing that grounder again." "Yeah? Well I have a warning for you, too. The grounders are coming." "And they're attacking at first light."
Violet startled, a pair of hands around her waist as she hit whoever was touching her.
"It's just me."
"P-put me down!" Violet kicked her legs, yelling at Lorie again, as people began moving out of the way. "Stop it!" "Move out of my way!" Lorie yelled, holding Violet as she fought her.
"MOVE!" Somebody shouted, as Lorie carried her. "PUT ME DOWN! LET GO OF ME!"
"Stop it, you're sick!" Lorie raised her voice, yelling at Violet as she shrieked.
"LET GO OF ME!"
"What the hell are you doing?" Violet heard Murphys voice. "I-I was trying to help her." "Help her? Did you not hear her screaming at you to put her down?" "She can't see anything, she needs my help!" "Put the god damn kid down."
"Let me go!"
"HEY!" She heard Finn shout, "Put her down!" "I'm trying to help-"
"Put, her, down!"
Violet felt another set of hands against her hips as she screamed and fought.
"Stop, it's just me, it's Finn!"
"I cant see anything!" Violet cried, as she felt Finn touching her face. "Finn, you have to rinse her eyes out. " Clarke spoke quietly, "Get Murphy to help you." She heard feet moving around her, and water being poured as Finn said something to her.
"Me and Murphy are gonna help you, okay?"
"I can help too."
"We don't need you in here"
Violet nodded, still unable to see anything, as she felt Finn put her on the floor. "Sit on your knees okay?"She could feel both Finn and Murphy's hands holding onto her wrists as she sat on her knees, as Finn put his hand on her back. She felt a cold cloth against her face, wiping whatever crap was on her face, as well as in her hair.
"This parts gonna hurt like a bitch, okay?" Murphy whispered, she nodded and took a deep breath. He used a cloth to pull Violets eyelid open, and using a canteen he poured cold water into her eye as slowly as he could.
She moved her hand, as she felt someone stop her from moving. "Just stay still."
They repeated the process a few times, flushing the blood out of her eyes.
"I can see a little." She blinked a few times as Murphy wiped the side of her eye with the cloth, and handed the canteen to Finn, who did the same on her right side."Is that better?"
Violet blinked, rubbing her eyes for a moment before opening them, "Yeah." "Okay, well at least you're not blind."
She held onto Murphys hand, standing up as she made eye contact with Lorie.
"Go away."
"Hey, I saved you!"
"Yeah and I didn't need your help."
"I did you a favor after you fucking bashed your head into mine and knocked me out."
"Would you get out?" She yelled.
"If you had listened you wouldn't be in this situation right now." Violet yelled, running at her as Finn grabbed her pulling her back.
"Get the fuck out of here, I'm not about to stop a seven year old from attacking you if you wanna stay in here."
