14 - Rain Drops

We had no patrolling today so I told Haru and the others I'll be going first because I wanted to try a new cafe nearby. I heard the sweets there are good~ Not a sweet tooth but I enjoy sweets that aren't just full of sugar. I love sweets that have a burst of flavor in them!

Normally Haru would've come with me but thankfully Nirei and Tsugeura kept on pushing him to go with them and told them I'll be fine. Ah I'm so thankful~

I hummed as I entered the cafe, hearing the sound of bells ringing as I walked in. I sat at one of the tables and looked through one of the menus.

'It looks good~' 

"What would you like to order, sir?" 

"Sir?" I looked up at the waitress who was talking. 'Oh yeah I'm the sir she's talking to..'

"Ah, my apologies miss" I said as I smiled at her and scratched my neck, I could see a faint blush form on her cheeks.

"I-it's okay..can I take your order now sir?" She said as she smiled at me. 'Hm interesting she doesn't sense a thing'

"Yes yes, I'd like one strawberry frappe and one Dorayaki please" I beamed at her, she wrote it down and went away after a few minutes.

Once my food arrived, I took a bite of it immediately. I closed my eyes to enjoy the taste. "It tastes amazing.."

"I'll definitely come back here with Haru, he'll love this place"

I bought some few things for Haru before going out. I'll never forget to get him something of course.

I walked down the street while holding the paper bag in my hand. I hummed out a tune as I watched the sun slowly go down. 'It'll be night time soon, gotta head back or else Haru might file a missing report'

At the corner of my eye, I could see a familiar white hair, spiky hair and two toned hair. 'Huh that looks like Umemiya-san and Hiragi-san..they're with a..woman'

I squinted my eyes to see them clearer, 'It is them-' I turned around and went inside a random shop. I took off my jacket so no one else could see my uniform and put it inside my bag, leaving me in my white shirt. 'Thank goodness my shirt's not see-through..'

I stayed there for a while before going out, I no longer see them but the sun has completely disappeared by now. The street lights look pretty and it seems that Umemiya and others are gone.

"Okay they're gone-"

"Who's gone?" My heart almost fell out my chest as I got startled by the voice behind me. It's Umemiya.

"You scared me-" I said as I held my chest, my eyes closing as I took a breath to calm my nerves down.

"I thought we were done with me being scary?" His voice sounds like he's teasing me-

I opened my eyes and saw his eyes gaze over mine, I could feel the rapid beats of my chest. "What I mean is, you startled me okay?"

"Were you perhaps running away from someone? I thought you were in trouble. I was sure I saw you a while ago enter this shop, glad I wasn't wrong" I heard him say, my eyes glanced at him quickly, he was smiling, he also wasn't wearing his jacket. The street lights gently illuminated his features.

"Ah no I'm fine-" I can't tell him I saw them that's why I was hiding-

 "I was just passing by and tried a new cafe nearby..then bought some stuff for my brother" I said as I looked over to my side.

"That's thoughtful of you. Though if I may ask, why are you alone? You're usually stuck to the hip with your other half" He said chuckling.

"Ah well he's with Nirei and the others. I wanted to try the cafe so I came alone."

"It's pretty late, want me to accompany you? I wouldn't want anything to happen to my junior while walking back home" Hah- What's he on about- Does he think I'm weak?

"I'm pretty sure I can handle myself Umemiya-san, thank you for your concern" I bowed my head slightly and started to walk away.

I didn't hear him answer but only heard his footsteps next to mine. "I wouldn't want your twin to beat me up if anything happens to you"

I didn't answer and just shook my head as we walked. It's quite relaxing.

"Was the cafe's food good?"

"Mhm"

"Do you guys live nearby?"

"Mhm"

"Do you guys live alone?"

"Mhm"

"Are you enjoying your time in Furin so far?"

"Mhm"

"Is it fun having me around?"

"Mh- Wait why are you interviewing me? I never agreed to this" I paused, raising my eyebrows at him.

"I just want to know more about my juniors, is that bad?" He said while looking at me with those eyes of his. He looks like a puppy wagging its tail-

Before I could answer, I felt droplets of water hit my face gently. My eyes widened in surprise as I began to panic. 'Shit- My shirt's going to be see-through if it gets drenched in the rain-' I thought as I took out my jacket and wore it again.

"Oh- it's raining" I heard him say but my mind was clouded with panic.

"Thank you for walking with me so far Umemiya-san but I'll go alone from here on, see you-" I bowed my head and made a run for it as rain started to pour in much faster than before, leaving him all alone there.

"Wait it's rain-" Umemiya sighed, strands of his hair falling to his forehead as the rain started to pour in. His fingers brushed through his hair, pushing it back as he found a shade to wait for the rain to stop.

Haru's standing outside, an umbrella in hand and the other held his phone. He ran up to me as soon as he saw me and covered me with his umbrella. "Where have you been? I got so worried..you weren't answering your phone.."

"Haru...for a second there..I thought someone was about to find out about our secret..I got so scared- If they did, they'd separate us- I'm so-" I said, panic filling my face as my heart raced through my chest.

"Hey..hey calm down..what happened..? Let's get inside first, take  a shower. You'll catch a cold" I felt his hand slowly rub my back as we walked inside.

Once I finished showering, I got out the bathroom and saw Haru sitting on the chair by the dining area, a cup of hot cocoa at the other side of the table.

"I made you some, drink it before it gets cold"

I nodded my head and sat at the other side and took a sip out of the cocoa. 'It's good'

"So what happened?"

"You know I was trying out the cafe nearby right?" I started, looking over at him just to see him look back at me as well. He nodded over at me.

"Well I saw Umemiya-san and the other third years..then he saw me..then he offered to walk me home.." 

"So he walked you home? I didn't see him though.." He said as he looked at me with a confused expression.

"Well..I ran away from him" I said as I looked away, feeling embarrassed. "It started raining and you know if my white shirt gets drenched...someone will see my undergarments.." I explained, my face getting red.

"Ah....did he see it?" I could see his eyes narrow down, somehow looks pissed.

"No...I ran away as soon as I felt water droplets hit my face" I said as I looked over at him.

"Then you're alright..don't worry too much Hima.." I hummed and just looked down at my hands. 

"How about you? Did something happen?" I asked as I look up at him again, tilting my head to the side.

"Ah well..We saw Anzai in bad shape and it seems he has some business with Keel..Then I saw one of their friends then I promised her I'll bring their other friend back-" Haru started to explain what happened while I was gone.

"What's Keel? What promise? Her? Seems like a lot happened.." Ah there's so many things happening-

Before going to bed, he told me about everything and I couldn't help but smile at him. I'm so proud of my brother. I'm happy that I have him here with me.
