I'ma be honest with y'all. This part doesn't really impact the story all that much, so you could totally skip over it if you wanted to ('cause it's kinda depressing, even compared to the previous parts) and you would still have the same story. Though I don't recomend doing so, 'cause you'd miss out on Mitsu and Yuu-Chan yelling at each other, and who doesn't want to read that.********************************

We had both hoped that our relationship would go back to normal after what happened, but unfortunately, that's not what happened.

It had been about two weeks since the fight and everything was normal until I woke up with a text from Mika asking me to meet him on the roof. When I got up there he was standing near the edge, looking down. "Mika?" I asked and he turned around. There were tears streaming down his face and he looked devastated. "What's the matter?" I asked and he just stood there, staring at me as if he was trying to memorize every detail of my face.

"My mom got a new job in Florida," he said and I instantly understood. He was moving. Just when we thought everything was perfect. Just when I had finally started to feel like a normal human being again. "I have to move," he said, confirming what I already knew. (yeah, I'm an asshole, you don't need to tell me. I already know.)

"T-this can't be happening. It can't," I said, breaking down in sobs as I dropped to my knees. Mika instantly dropped down beside me and wrapped his arms around me as I cried into his shoulder.

"I don't want to leave you," he said, burying his face in my hair as he cried.

***Time skip to moving day***

Mikaela stood in our tiny living room with tears in his eyes. I'd spent the last ten minutes trying to get Yuichiro to come out of his room and say goodbye to him, but he wouldn't even open the door. He had been refusing to leave his room all week. "Yuichiro, get out here and say goodbye to him, now," I said as the last attempt. The door opened after a moment and Yuichiro stood there, wrapped in a giant blanket, tearstained face and puffy red eyes, although he had stopped crying for the moment. he trudged out to the living room and flung himself into Mikaela's arms.

***

I sat, curled into a ball on my bed, wrapped in my blanket. Mika was leaving today and my mom had been trying to get me to come out of my room for a while now, to say goodbye to him. But just the thought of seeing him go made it feel like someone was trying to rip out my heart. "Yuichiro, get out here and say goodbye to him, now," my mom said, and I sighed, giving in. I got up and opened the door. My mom looked at me with a shocked expression, not that I could blame her, I could only imagine how bad I looked. when I got to the living room, I found Mika standing there with tears streaming down his face. I threw myself into his arms and we cried.

"Mikaela, its time to go," Mika's mom said from the door.

"Call me when you get there, please," I begged, looking into Mika's eyes.

"I will, I promise. Take care of yourself," he said sternly and I nodded before kissing him.

"I love you, Mika."

"I love you too Yuu-chan." Then he was gone.

***Two months later***

It had been two agonizing months since Mika moved. Let's just say I wasn't handling it well. We still talked every day, but it wasn't the same. Things were bad again, and I couldn't imagine them ever getting better. I tried to take my mind off of everything by hanging out with Shinoa and the others, but seeing them all happy and with their significant others made me sad and I'd always wind up crying.

I sat on my bed with a bag of Doritos, trying to eat away my feelings, and before you ask, no, it wasn't working. I picked up my phone when I got a text message from Shinoa and stared at my wallpaper for a while. It was a picture of Mika and I the day I got drunk up on the roof. He was smiling at me with the most loving look in his eyes, and I was blushing at something he'd said.

(^that's the picture. All credit goes to the artist)

When I didn't answer Shinoa's text, she called me. "Heeey," she said when I answered, "Why didn't you answer my text?"

"Sorry, I got distracted," I said, wiping at my eyes with my sleeve.

"Are you crying again?" she asked, "do I need to come over there and comfort you?"

I sighed, flopping back on the bed and burying my face in my pillow. "I can't help it. I miss Mika," I said.

"What?" She asked, "I can't hear you."

I rolled onto my back and set my phone beside me after changing it to speakerphone. "I said I miss Mika," I repeated.

"I know you do and I'm sorry that there's not really anything I can do about it, but-" she was cut off by a loud bang and Mitsuba yelling. "What the hell babe?" Shinoa asked and I could just barely hear Mitsuba laughing and saying, "I'm okay." I rolled my eyes and got up off the bed, going over to stare out the window. "Sorry about that," Shinoa said through a laugh, "Mitsu's drunk and she tripped over a chair." I had a feeling Mitsuba wasn't the only one who was drunk, but before I could say so, Mika video called me.

"I gotta go," I told Shinoa, "Mika's video calling me."

"Kaaaaayyy," she said and hung up before I could say bye.

I answered Mika's call and turned on my camera. His beautiful face popped up on screen and I smiled. It had been about a week since we'd video chated, so we hadn't seen each other in a while. "Hey Mika," I said and he smiled.

"Hi, Yuu-chan. Sorry I didn't call yesterday, I was helping my mom with something," he said.

"That's alright. I'm really glad you called though. I miss you," I told him, sitting down at my desk and setting my phone down on it, leaning it up against a jar full of pens.

"I miss you too, Yuu-Chan. I really wish I could give you a hug right now," he told me. We talked for about an hour before he had to go. I went out to the living room to find my mom watching some show on the TV.

"Hey, mom, whatcha watching?" I asked, sitting on the arm of the couch and looking at the TV.

"Supernatural," she said, glancing up at me, before looking back at the TV.

I went into the kitchen only to pop my head back out and stare at the screen when I heard some guy talking in a whiny voice say, "I lost my shoe." I raised my eyebrow at my mother and she just waved her hand at me, indicating for me to not worry about it. "Okie dokie," I said as I opened the refrigerator and looked for something to eat. Just as I pulled an orange out of the drawer my phone went off again. I groaned in annoyance and answered it.

"What're you doin Yuu?" Shinoa asked with a laugh. She was obviously drunk.

"Just lo-" I was cut off by Shinoa squealing through the phone and I wound up dropping my orange. "Cazzo puttana," I said, bending down to pick it up.

"Yuichiro, stop cursing," mom said from the living room.

"How do you know I was cursing?" I asked, flopping down on the couch next to her.

"Mika told me a while back that you only speak in Italian when you're tired or when you're cursing at someone," she said, "what did you say anyway?"

"You probably don't want to know Ms. Amane," Mitsuba yelled through the phone, "he once called me a swine and told me to shut my f-ing face."

"It was the other way around, actually," I said around a laugh.

"Yuichiro, don't say things like that to people," mom said, sounding angry.

"She was yelling and it woke me up, what did you expect me to do? Give her a gold star and a pat on the back?" I asked and she glared at me.

"You could have just been nice like Yoichi and asked me to stop yelling," Mitsuba whined.

"Are you serious? You realize you're talking to Yuu right? He's not one of the nice ones in our group of friends. That's Yoichi and Mika," Shinoa told her.

"Don't underestimate Mika," I told her, "he can be downright scary sometimes, especially when he's angry."

"You mean like when you wouldn't give him cuddles, so he stared at the back of your head so hard I could practically see the smoke coming off of his laser eyes?" she asked, laughing at me.

"That was different, we were joking around," I reminded her.

"Or you just don't remember correctly cause you were drunk off your ass," Mitsuba yelled.

"Oh?" mom asked, "Is that what happened to my vodka?"

"Yes!" Shinoa yelled.

"Thanks guys, now my mom's gonna ground me till I'm thirty," I told them and Shinoa cackled.

"Nah, I don't mind if you drink every now and then, as long as you aren't driving or doing drugs," Mom said and Shinoa gasped.

"Dude your mom is so chill, what the actual fuck?" Mitsuba yelled.

"MITSU! LANGUAGE!" Shinoa screamed and I pulled the phone away from my ear so I wouldn't go deaf.

"Smettila di urlare, porco!" I yelled at her.

"Don't call my girlfriend a swine, you meathead," Mitsuba said. Apparently, she remembered that from the time I called her a swine. Oopsie.

"Yeah, Yuu. What's up with you calling everyone a swine anyway?" Shinoa asked. "You've called Mitsu and I both that and I've heard you call Mika that at least twice. What gives?"

"I don't know actually, that's just the first thing that pops into my head I guess," I said, "be glad you didn't meet me when I was fourteen. You don't even wanna know what I called Ferid."

"Don't say that. It makes me wanna know," Shinoa said at the same time Mitsuba yelled, "TELL US."

"Nope, if you wanna know so bad get Mika to tell you," I said.

"I'm gonna text him right now," Mitsuba said. and then after a few minutes, sounding disappointed, "He won't say either. His exact words were 'I am not repeating that shit, get Yuu-Chan to tell you.' You guys suck!"

"Hey, Yuu? Why does Mika call you Yuu-Chan anyway?" Shinoa asked.

"Hell if I know. He's called me that since we were like eleven," I told her. I'd never really thought about that until now and I kinda wanted to know.

"Okay," Mitsuba said, "I asked Mika and he said 'I started calling him that right after I realized I liked him. I wanted my own nickname for him. something no one else called him and I thought it sounded cute.'"

"Awwww," Shinoa said, "that's the cutest thing ever." It honestly really was and hearing that made me miss him even more, to the point where I started crying again. I sat the phone down and cried into a pillow that I was holding. "Yuu? Are you okay?" I heard Shinoa ask through the phone. I ended the call before texting her.

Yuu: I just need a couple minutes. I'll call you back later.

Shinoa😜: k tak 2 u l8r

I snorted at her inability to text and set my phone back down on the side table before burying my face in the pillow again. "Yuichiro, are you okay?" Mom asked from the kitchen, but I didn't answer. After a minute I felt the couch dip down as she sat beside me and then wrapped her arms around me. "It'll be alright," Mom said, rubbing my back.

"I miss him mom, and not having him around hurts. I just wish I could see him again," I said, burying my face in her shoulder.

"I don't know what you expect me to do," Was the first thing I heard when I got downstairs. Who's she talking to? "Well I can't help that, he's your son." I got closer, trying to figure out who she was talking to.

"I don't know what to do. I'm so worried about him. He cries all the time," Yuu's mom said through the phone. They were obviously talking about Yuu. I knew he'd been depressed since I was gone, but I didn't know it was that bad.

"Look, I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do about that," Mom told her. She was being terribly insensitive about the whole thing.

Ms. Amane sighed, "Well, how's Mika doing?" She asked.

I remembered why I'd originally come downstairs and felt a tear roll down my face.

"He's okay. He-" She cut herself off when I pushed the door open.

"Mom?" I asked, tears streaming down my face and she set her phone down on the table.

"Mikaela? What's wrong sweetheart?" She asked hurrying over to me.

"I miss Yuu-Chan," I said and she sighed.

"I'm tired of hearing this, you need to get used to not being around him," She told me.

"I can't," I told her, "I've tried, but I can't."

"Well, you crying about it isn't going to get you anywhere," she said, turning away from me.

"Don't you think I know that? I can't help it though, I miss him and I want to go back to New York, I hate it here," I told her.

"You hate it here? We've only been here for two months and you don't ever go outside. How can you possibly know if you hate it or not?" she asked, turning back around to glare at me.

"Because Yuu-Chan isn't here," I said, glaring back at her, only my glare had more force behind it.

"If you want to see him so bad why don't you just go back there then," she said with a smug look on her face.

"Fine then, I will," I said, before going back up to my room and shoving clothes into a suitcase and going back downstairs.

"Mikaela wait," mom said and I stopped, turning to look at her, hand on the doorknob. "Are you serious about going back?"

"Obviously," I said, wiping at my eyes with my sleeve.

She sighed. "Let me tell Yuu's mother and I'll take you back myself," she said, "meanwhile, you should go get some more of your things." I ran back up to my room and packed some more bags and twenty minutes later, we were on the road.

***A couple days later***

I was sitting on the couch, hugging a pillow to my chest and watching some random anime when there was a knock on the door. "Yuichiro, can you get that?" my mom called from the kitchen. I sighed, standing up and going to open the door. I dropped the pillow upon seeing Mika standing there.

"M-Mika!" I said, throwing myself into his arms as I started crying. He caught me in his arms and held me tight.

"I missed you so much, Yuu-Chan," he said against my hair.

"I missed you too," I said through my tears. We pulled apart as I heard my phone ring. (Shinoa convenience is convenient.) "Hi!" I said, answering Shinoa's call and putting it on speakerphone.

"You sound unnaturally happy. Did something good happen?" she asked, although I assumed she wasn't actually expecting an answer.

"Hello," Mika said, smiling at me and I smiled back, grabbing his hand and squeezing it.

"Is that Mika? He's back? Why didn't you tell me he was coming?" She yelled.

"I didn't know," I informed her with a laugh.

"Well, either way. We all need to get together and hang out again," she said before pulling the phone away from her ear. "Mitsu! Guess who's back!" she yelled.

"No way, Mika? Didn't he just move to Florida like two months ago?" We heard Mitsuba yell.

"How long are you gonna be in town?" Shinoa asked.

"I'm not going back to Florida," he said, "My mom already talked you Yuu-Chan's mom and she said I could live with them.""That's great," she said. "I'm heading over there right now and all of us are gonna hang out at my house."

"Sounds great," I said, just before my mom stuck her head out of the kitchen.

"Since I assume you kids are probably going to be drinking again, you can just stay the night there," she said, "I'd hate to have you trying to get back here and dying on me."

Mika raised his eyebrows at me. "She knows about last time?"

"Yup, no thanks to Shinoa and Mitsuba, but she's totally chill about it. She didn't even get mad about me steeling her vodka," I told him.

"I totally thought she'd ground you till you were like thirty when she found out," he said, looking confused.

"Me too, but nope, she said as long as I'm not driving or doing drugs she doesn't really care," I told him.

"Yeah, and then Mitsu proceeded to scream about how he has the chillest mom ever and he called me a swine when I yelled at her for cursing," Shinoa said and Mika snorted, not looking surprised in the slightest. Shinoa then hung up the phone and we went outside to wait for her.
