Chapter 9

THIRD Person's Point of View

"WHAT?!" a very surprised Levy yelled but her mouth was immediately sealed by the embarrassed Lucy who pathetically said, "Shhh, Levy.. I don't want anyone to know."

"Why? You're engaged after all." Levy reasoned out.

"It's just that I don't want anyone to know." the blonde said with a tint of sadness on her voice.

"Oh, by the way, did you tell Natsu?" the bookworm asked her as Lucy replied with a soft voice, "No."

"What? Why didn't you tell him? He's like...should be the first one to know." Levy said as she sipped the lemonade that Mira just served her a little while ago.

"W-Why should I tell him? It's not like he has anything to do with this." Lucy said as a crimson blush crept on her cheeks.

They are now, sitting again by the guild's bar. Lucy just told Levy everything happened, given she's the blonde's best friend.

 That same morning, Lucy was invited to a mission with Natsu,Gray, Erza, and Happy. They completed the mission with ease and was now, going back to Magnolia. They walked to the city to the train station, hoping to get a ride back to Magnolia.

"Happy, Lucy seems to be lost in her own thoughts... WEIRD." Natsu's supposed to be whisper to Happy became audible to everyone's ears but Lucy decided to ignore it.

"Oh yeah, and earlier, I asked her to summon her old celestial spirit, 'Fishes' to tell me some good fish stories and she ignored me! Something's definitely wrong with her!" the flying cat, Happy replied. As for Lucy, who lost her cool, kicked both the dragon slayer and the exceed with her 'Lucy Kick'.

"I'M NOT WEIRD AND DON'T MISTAKE CRUX AS PISCES JUST BECAUSE HE'S WILLING TO TELL YOU FISH STORIES!" Lucy yelled as she gave another 'Lucy Kick' to the duo who ran behind Erza, seeking for protection.

"Serves you, right. Fire Brain." Gray said mockingly, as he unconsciously stripped.

"What did you just say, Popsicle Idiot?" Natsu replied as he started to brawl with Gray. As Lucy, sweat-dropped, "Gray! Your clothes!" and in the end, with Erza beating the two to a pulp and making them promise to not fight again.

Lucy smiled, "This is the very guild I loved..." she thought as Natsu shouted, "Look, Happy, Lucy's smiling to herself! She's starting to be insane!" he grinned as he and Happy ran away, with Lucy running after him and cursing the salmon-haired boy. Leaving behind the ice mage and the requip wizard behind.

"I've made my mind.. I'm gonna tell him about the engagement. Not because I like him, but because he's an important person in my life." Lucy said to herself as she continued to chase after him.

"So you've decided, huh?" Levy said as she and Lucy sat again, the next day to the bar.

"Yeah." Lucy replied weakly, desperately hiding her embarrassment.

"LUCY! LUCY! I PICKED A JOB!" Natsu shouted as he quickly approached Lucy on the Bar, carrying the job paper for her to see.

Lucy glanced at Levy, who mouthed, "Good luck.", as she faced the dragon slayer..

"N-Natsu, before that... I want to tell something to you.." Lucy said, almost whispering ever word. Luckily, for her, Natsu being born with a strong sense of smell and hearing, heard her.

"What is it?" he asked as he grinned to her, "I'm gonna tell you more about this job."

"Natsu, I'll be marrying someone." Lucy said as the dragon slayer, eyed her curiously...

"Well, if you're happy with it... There's nothing that we should do, right?" Natsu said nonchalantly and smiled at her.

Lucy, trying to hold back the tears from falling in her eyes, clenched her fist as she looked at the ground. "Lucy? Are you okay?" Natsu who is wondering about her weird actions, asked her with concern as Lucy, looked at him and said.

"Yeah, I'm fine. In fact, I've never been this happy in my life." Lucy finally said, as she smiled at him, bitterly as her previously suppressed tears finally escaped her eyes. With that, she turned her back and started running away outside the guild, leaving a dumbfounded Natsu Dragneel.

"Why... you...WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" Levy who just stood beside Lucy before, slapped Natsu hard in the face, " Idiot! She likes you! Yet... You're such an idiot!!" Levy said and then, ran after Lucy.
