'The end of a beginning.'

"Ha.." y/n sighed.

She lifted her leg and let the hot water drip from her leg.

She closed her eyes and leaned back against the bathtub.

'Only 3 months left..' y/n thought while sighing.

She got up and finished her bath.

She dried up and was sitting on her bed while scrolling through her phone.

She opened her messages while drying her hair with a small towel.

She smiled while seeing the messages on the group chat, but then her smile quickly faded.

'Only 3 months left..' she thought while sighing and plopping her phone down on her bed and leaning back.

She turned off the lights and sat down next to her big window.

She looked at the view from her window and seen the beautiful city lights.

She leaned back against the walls and closed her eyes while letting her thoughts consume her.

'I have everything I need right now.' She thought.

'Friends, money, a place to stay, youth, and the boy that I've always loved.' Y/n thought.

'Am I greedy for wanting it to always stay the same? Am I wrong for not wanting time to pass?' She though and fell asleep with a bunch of other thoughts swarming her mind.

Y/n got to school and immediately headed to the big hall for exams. It was exam day and she needed to ace them or get an almost perfect score.

She got her own desk and assigned seat like everyone else. She had 2 hours to finish the exam that was the hardest one she had yet.

She focused really hard and powered through her exam.

"You may all go home now." The examiner announced.

'Finally.' Y/n thought while standing up from the desk and going to the locker room to pick up her bag.

After all, she couldn't bring her bag or anything else other than herself into the exam hall.

She left and checked the time.

'5pm?!' She checked.

Exam days were different than regular days.

One year group had exams for the whole day and each of them had different subjects and completion times, along with some breaks for lunch, toilet, and food.

And the other year groups were studying or in class like usual.

Anyway y/n was on her way out.

Her phone then rang.

"Heeseung-oppa?" She said outloud as she picked up the phone.

"Yeah? What's up?" Y/n asked over the phone.

"Where are you right now?" Heeseung asked.

"I just got out. I'm infront of the gates." Y/n said.

"Ok great! We're all at the barbecue place beside mines, Sunoo and Jungwon's part time." Heeseung said over the phone.

"Oh is Jungwon with you guys too?" Y/n asked.

"Yeah his exams ended at 3 cause he didn't take music as a subject like you." Heeseung said.

"Alright." Y/n said over the phone.

"Come join us!" Heeseung said.

"But I'm in my school uniform.." y/n said.

"Oh right.. well go change and join us! We just got here 10 minutes ago!" Heeseung announced.

"Okay. I'll probably be there in like half an hour though." Y/n said.

"It's fine just go!" Heeseung said.

He then hung up and y/n was bewildered.

'Ok well I gotta hurry.' She thought and then she caught a last minute bus and went to her apartment.

She left her apartment and realised it was warmer.

'It's march after all..' she thought.

'Only 3 months left..' she thought.

She soon eventually got to the barbecue place.

She entered and seen her friendgroup sitting around a table with soju and food.

She walked over to them.

"Hey guys." She smiled.

"Oh there's a seat next to me come sit!" Jungwon said.

"Heyy!" Jake said.

She took off her coat and sat down comfortably.

She noticed the others grilling and eating some meat.

"What do you wanna eat?" Jay asked.

"Anything. I'm kinda thirsty though." Y/n said.

"Okayyy." Jay said while going off to order something for her more beef for their barbecue.

"So how were your exams?" Ni-Ki asked.

"Hard. Stressful. Exhausting." Y/n sighed.

"Here." Sunoo said while giving her some grilled meat and vegetables onto her plate.

"Thanks." Y/n smiled while picking up some chopsticks and eating it.

"We're lucky. Our next exams our in May." Sunghoon said.

"Yep. Our last exams in high school." Heeseung said while drinking a shot of Soju.

"Only 3 months left.." y/n said outloud.

"You're right." Sunoo sighed.

'Shit did I say that outloud?' Y/n got confused.

Jay came back to the table.

"Are you guys thinking of what you guys wanna do after high school?" Jungwon asked.

"Hmm.. I want to study finance. I like computering and things like that." Jay said.

"Oh wow. I think I wanna study psychology." Sunoo announced.

"Really? I would've never guessed." Y/n said.

Sunoo smiled.

"Yeah I guess it's kinda random." Sunoo laughed.

"I think I'm gonna continue with my sport." Sunghoon announced.

"You're gonna continue with basketball?" Jake asked.

"Nope. My OTHER sport." Sunghoon said.

"Aaah. Figure skating. So you want to like.. be an athlete?" Jake asked.

"Yeah." Sunghoon smiled.

"I don't know what I wanna do. Something along the lines of health. Maybe a carer? Or a doctor? I have no idea." Jake said.

"You guys are really looking into the future.." y/n drank a shot while blankly staring down at the table.

'Will I ever grow up?' Y/n thought.

"It's hard to believe we're already adults. Now all we need is maturity." Jungwon said.

"It'll be hard to say goodbye to all of you. Me and y/n still have a year left." Jungwon sighed.

"We'll still keep in contact. Plus we might even study at the same uni. Who knows." Heeseung said.

"Uhh.. yeah. Same uni. Mhm." Ni-Ki said nervously.

"Oh right. Ni-Ki is going to-"Heeseung tried speaking but Ni-Ki covered his mouth.

"Going to?" Y/n asked curiously.

"Uhh nothing! He's going to.. uh.. he's going to be so sad after he leaves!" Jake covered up.

'They're acting really weird. Something is up. Could it be..' y/n's thoughts trailed off.

"Yeah. I'm gonna be really sad." Ni-Ki admitted.

"We still have 3 months right? Time won't go any faster." Jay said.

'Spoke too soon. How. How the actual fuck has time gone by so fast.' Y/n thought.

It was June. There was two weeks left of school.

And two weeks left of teenage years for most of the group.

Heeseung was going to be 21 this year. Y/n and Jungwon were going to be 19 this year. And the rest of the group were going to be 20.

And realisation only just hit.

But nothing hurts more than the end.

Y/n and Jungwon stood in the back row watching as the group plus other seniors went onto the big stage in the hall.

They watched as they all got awarded with certificates and confetti.

A big speech was heard and given by one of the seniors and the whole school cheered for them.

"Congratulations on graduating! We all wish you the best and have an amazing afterparty and prom!" Principal Lee announced.

Everyone clapped and the seniors bowed.

The ceremony came to an end and y/n and Jungwon were waiting in the other huge hall for the afterparty.

Everyone was allowed to be there and it was a big event.

Soon enough their friend group came to the hall and found them.

Y/n and Jungwon cheered and ran up to them.

"CONGRATULATIONS!!" They both said while cheering.

The group laughed at their sillyness and then joined them.

Heeseung stayed behind with y/n.

Y/n looked around for something. Well, someone.

'Where's Riki?' She thought while scanning the room.

Heeseung noticed and snickered.

Heeseung leaned in and whispered something.

You might want to head to the garden at the back. Heeseung laughed.

Y/n was confused and then nodded.

She walked away and thought to herself.

'I didn't say that outloud did I?' She thought.

She reached the garden at the back and looked around.

She saw the beautiful flowers and trees grown out. She smiled while looking around.

'It's so pretty..' she thought.

She then felt someone grab her from behind.

She got startled and then got lifted up and span around.

She kicked her feet trying to get out.

"It's me~" the voice said while laughing.

Y/n's face quickly changed.

She eventually got let down and turned around.

"You scared the shit out of me!" She said while hitting his arm.

"Okay, okay. My bad." He admits while snickering.

Y/n got angry sarcastically but then smiled.

"So? Why did you call me out here?" She smiled lightly.

"Hmmm.. did I call you out here? Or did you listen to Heeseung because you were hoping it would be me?" Ni-Ki said.

Y/n gasped.

"You-" she got cut off.

"Yeah yeah I called you out here." He admitted.

"So?" She crossed her arms.

"I think it's time we get serious." Ni-Ki said.

Y/n took it lightly.

She looked away sarcastically.

"Get serious? You? Please-"she got cut off.

"I'm going to study in Japan." Ni-Ki rambled out.

Y/n turned to look at him with a petrified look in her eyes.

"Wha-.. what?" She stuttered after hearing that.

"Ni-Ki you're teasing me right?" Y/n couldn't believe it.

"Kina.. I wish I was kidding." He sighed.

Y/n's heart sank.

"You didn't tell me?.. I thought we were meant to trust each other-.." y/n's voice broke.

"Y/n I tried. I didn't know how to tell you. Because it broke me aswell." Ni-Ki's voice became stern.

Y/n's mouth quivered from the amount of shock she got.

"I- I told the others.. and I told them to not say ANYTHING to you. I wanted to tell you myself." Ni-Ki admitted

"How.. how long did you know you were going away?" Y/n asked while trying to hold back her sadness.

"Since February.. I told the others in March. I'm sorry y/n. I'm so fucking sorry." Ni-Ki said while pulling her into a hug.

She pushed him away lightly.

He then felt himself break and after he seen y/n's tears run down her face it broke him too.

"Riki you promised to love me forever. Keep that promise. We swore to each other. No turning back now." Y/n said while letting her tears fall down her face.

"I promise. I'll love you forever." Ni-Ki said while tears ran down his face.

He pulled y/n and kissed her.

Y/n felt hot tears flow.

They pulled out of the kiss.

"I hate you. Ihateyouihateyouihateyou!" Y/n cried out.

Ni-Ki just stood there and watched her.

'A knife can hurt you but love can kill you inside.' Y/n thought.

"No you don't." Ni-Ki said

Y/n wiped her tears while hiccuping.

She went closer to Ni-Ki.

"You're right. I don't." She said as she pulled him in for a long kiss.
