'A declaration of love.'

It's gotten even more closer to Christmas. It was the 18th and y/n already accustomed to her old classes like before.

School was out obviously and the group finally were complete again.

"So guys.. any plans for Christmas?" Y/n asked.

"Yep! I'm spending Christmas with my parents!" Jay announced.

"Really? Oh me too!" Jake announced.

"I'm also going to see my family." Sunoo said drinking his cola.

"Lucky you guys!" Y/n said.

"Yeah I can't wait until I'm back in Australia! It's been so long.." Jake said.

"Wait your parents don't live in Korea? I thought all of you moved together?" Y/n asked.

"Nope! Jake's parents live in Australia." Jungwon said.

"I thought I already told you this?" Jungwon said.

"Nope you didn't cause you're too busy playing crossy road!" Y/n said.

"Well.. it's better than freezing outside in 5 degree weather." Jungwon stated.

The others just laughed as they all sat around a table at Jay's.

"Speaking of distance, don't your parents live in Japan, Ni-Ki?" Jay asked.

"Huh? Yeah they do. Haha I don't think I'll manage to visit them this year for Christmas though." Ni-Ki played it off.

The others just skipped past that eventually but y/n couldn't help but feel a little upset.

She was the only one who knew about Riki's parents and his situation.

"So just to be clear.. who's staying in Korea or isn't busy for Christmas?" Y/n asked.

Silence was heard.

"Everyone's busy? Alright.." y/n sighed.

She didn't have any plans obviously. Her parents were busy and she didn't really want to go to Japan since she just recently came back to Korea again.

"Well.. you could go and enjoy the Christmas festival and walk around?" Jungwon suggested.

"Yeah I guess. Well it doesn't matter! We'll still all see each other after the break." Y/n said.

"Yeah exactly!" Sunghoon said.

The group played games and had fun in Jay's apartment.

Y/n found out that Jay's parents moved to Busan to set up their business even more, so Jay was living by himself.

It was the middle of the night, everyone was sound asleep in Jay's apartment.

Y/n woke up because she was thirsty. She slowly slipped out of bed to not wake up Jungwon or Jake who were sleeping next to her.

She quietly walked over to the kitchen while closing the door to the living room so no one would be awake.

She reached into Jay's cupboard grabbing a glass and then grabbed a bottle of cold water from the fridge and placed it on the counter.

She gulped down the water and then noticed the view from Jay's apartment window.

She slowly opened the balcony door and walked onto it while closing the door behind her.

You could hear the silence of everyone sleeping but aswell the distant noises of dogs barking and cars or other vehicles driving past.

The city lights from buildings displayed beautifully underneath.

It was quite cold as it was the beginning of winter.

"Mmm... This is nice.." y/n spoke to herself.

She had her cozy socks on and winter pjs, and a black hoodie on top.

She put her hood up while leaning against the glass railing of Jay's balcony.

She closed her eyes while zoning out to the peacefulness of no one around.

But then, she heard the door behind her open.

However she was too distracted to notice.

"Enjoying the peace?" A voice says behind her.

She opened her eyes while immediately guessing who it was.

"Mhm. It's nice.." y/n said not looking at the voice.

The person walks over and leans on the railing next to her.

"Why are you up anyway?" Ni-Ki asked while leaning his head on the railing, bending down.

"I could ask you the same." Y/n said looking at him.

Their eyes locked. It was such a magnetic feeling everytime they both gazed at each other.

"Hmmm.. well I'm up because I can't sleep. You?" Ni-Ki said.

"I was thirsty. And I needed some fresh air." Y/n said.

They both stayed in comforting silence for a bit, enjoying the peace. Both of their eyes on the city lights and stars.

Ni-Ki was a little fidgety. It was like he wanted to say something.

Y/n noticed this a little but brushed it off.

"Ahem.. so- Uh.. about Christmas.." Ni-Ki started off.

Y/n turned to look at him and seen him avoid eye contact.

"Yeah?" Y/n spoke.

"So I figured- well actually I want to..- fuck it.." Ni-Ki rambled on.

Y/n just watched him fidget about until he stopped and breathed in.

He turned to face y/n as he properly stood up. He was taller than her so y/n looked up at him.

"Do you wanna spend Christmas with me?" Ni-Ki asked while nervously looking at her for an answer.

Y/n then smiled sweetly.

"Sure. I'd love to Riki." Y/n said.

She said his name so endearingly, that it made him flustered.

"Really? Okay great. So- at mines or-.." Ni-Ki said.

"Actually I've never been at your new apartment so let's do it there! Oh but- I'll cook and everything aswell!" Y/n said getting excited.

Ni-Ki smiled as he watched her.

And then both of them quietly went back in and then off to their rooms.

It was the 24th of December, Christmas Eve.

Y/n spent the whole day cooking at her apartment. She made plenty of food for her and Riki.

She was so excited.

She went shopping the day before and bought him a gift aswell.

'I think he's gonna like this right?' Y/n thought while she stared at the Basketball Jersey with his name on it.

She felt a little embarrassed looking it.

"Ah.. I'm really pathetic right?" She spoke to herself while looking at her jersey with his name on it, a matching pair.

Ding Dong

"Coming!" Ni-Ki's voice yelled from the inside.

He opened the door.

Y/n stood at the door looking up at him as he leaned on the door opening.

"Oh hey you're here! Come in." Ni-Ki smiled.

Y/n just stayed quiet while she was a little flustered.

"Oh I'll take those to the kitchen! Just take your shoes off and come in." Ni-Ki said grabbing the food bags from y/n.

Y/n just silently took her shoes off.

As soon as he disappeared her thoughts ran wild.

'AHH THIS PLACE SMELLS LIKE HIM. AND HES WEARING A BLACK SWEATER? I THINK IM GONNA PASS OUT...' y/n thought.

She walked over to the kitchen and seen him heat up the food.

She went over and stood infront of the counter.

He was busy preparing the food.

Y/n looked around the apartment and walked around a little.

"You've got a nice apartment." Y/n complimented.

"Huhh~ Thankss~" He teased.

Y/n shook her head in an annoyed way.

She walked over to the tv and sat on the couch.

"Can I put on a movie?" She asked him.

"Yeah go ahead. I'll join you in a bit." Ni-Ki said.

Y/n smiled and scrolled through the options on the tv.

She clicked on Netflix and scrolled through the romantic movies.

'Which one should I choose.. oh wait.. won't it be weird if we watch a romantic movie together?' Y/n thought as she looked over at him.

He was cutting some onions to add to a soup that he was making before.

'Nah it won't. It's not as if.. we.. BUT ANYWAY. What am I even thinking?!' She mentally slapped herself.

'Okay focus! Put on a good movie..' Y/n thought.

'Oh, let's watch this one.' She thought while picking out a movie.

Both of them later ate together and talked about some things from the past and laughed.

And then later on they sat down to watch the movie.

It was around 6pm and obviously as it was winter, it was already dark outside.

"10 things I hate about you? I've never watched that before." Ni-Ki said.

"Neither. But apparently it's good so.." y/n said.

And then both of them sat down.

It was a American movie but they put on Japanese subtitles.

They were just watching the movie and enjoying it.

Both of them eventually caught on to the fact it was a romantic movie and sat kind of tensed when some pda and kissing was on the tv.

After the movie ended both of them kind of silently sat.

Y/n just drank her cola.

She felt kind of weird. Like.. as if she wanted to just like.. touch Ni-Ki?

"Riki.. uh.. can I.. hug you?" Y/n asked.

"Huh? Yeah you can?" Ni-Ki said a little surprised.

Y/n then got closer to him and hugged him while burying her face in his chest.

She enjoyed his smell a lot.

"You smell really nice." Y/n complimented.

"So do you.." Ni-Ki said while smelling her aswell.

She wasn't to satisfied with the hug so she slowly fixed her position to make her head a little closer to his neck.

She placed her nose on his neck.

She got closer to his face. Closer, and closer, until their faces were an inch apart.

"Y/n." Ni-Ki said.

"Hm?" Y/n said.

"It's snowing outside." Ni-Ki said.

Y/n got a little embarrassed.

She pulled out of the near kiss and looked at him while still sitting on his lap.

She got off his lap.

"Sorry. I'll be back in a sec." She said as her face heated up.

She then put on her zip up hoodie and left.

"Y/n where are you going-.."

The door closed.

She left to go outside, leaving all of her other stuff indoors obviously.

Ni-Ki quickly ran over to the hallway while quickly grabbing a coat and his keys and shoes.

He left the apartment while locking it and ran after her.

He searched everywhere around the whole apartment building.

Ni-Ki ran to Han river.

He had a feeling she was going to be there, she was.

He lived near there so it wasn't far from his apartment.

There y/n sat on a bench, covering her face and thinking off into the distance.

There was snow surrounding them. It was light snow falling down.

Ni-Ki's eyes softened after finally seeing her.

He walked over to her and kneeled down infront of her.

"Why did you run off? Are you okay Nanaki?" Ni-Ki asked.

Y/n avoided eye contact, Ni-Ki realised this. He perked a brow.

"What's wrong Nanaki? Did I upset you?" Ni-Ki asked, still squatting down infront of her.

"Nothings wrong..?" She said, her voice sounding insincere.

Ni-Ki sighed, he sat down next to her.

"If nothings wrong then why are you avoiding my eyes?" Ni-Ki asked.

Y/n rubbed the back of her neck, obviously lying.

"Who knows? I'm not avoiding them.." Y/n said.

Ni-Ki chuckled lightly.

"I know you're lying, now spit it out. And as you're doing that then atleast look at me." Ni-Ki said grinning at her silliness.

"Alright.. fine. Well I was thinking about something.." Y/n confessed.

"Yeah? What about?" Ni-Ki asked.

Y/n took a deep breath before turning to face him.

"Riki. I told you that I liked you before, and I confessed to everything. You said you liked me before too.. but what about now?" I asked.

Ni-Ki's grin slowly fell and his face heated up a little.

"Whats with the sudden question?" He rubbed his neck looking away.

"You asked me if I'm okay, this is my way of answering. So I'll ask again.." Y/n said.

Ni-Ki's eyes looked at her again.

"Riki. Do you like me? Romantically?" Y/n said sincerely.

Ni-Ki gulped.

"Well how about you.. do you still feel something for me after the last time we seen each other?" Ni-Ki flipped the question back.

"Stop trying to dodge the question." Y/n frowned.

Ni-Ki gulped nervously.

"What are we Riki?" Y/n asked while looking directly at him.

Both of their eyes were locked on each other. They both knew, the feeling was mutual. All was left was one simple sentence.

"I do." Ni-Ki said breaking the silence.

Y/n eyes looked at him confused.

"What." She said.

"You do what? You do like playing basketball?" Y/n asked annoyingly.

"No, I'm sorry. I suck at these types of things.." Ni-Ki said pathetically.

He reached out for her hand.

"I love you Y/n Nanaki. I don't know if you still feel that way but-.." He got cut off by her a soft peck.

She quickly pulled back a little embarrassed.

"So uhh.. what now?" She asked.

Ni-Ki felt his face heat up. What happened to his confident cocky and annoying side? Is this the effect of love, being stupid?

"Wanna spend New Years together?" Ni-Ki asked.

Y/n hummed.

"I don't know, I would only spend new years with my boyfriend. And as far as I'm concerned I've not heard the question." Y/n said cheekily.

Ni-Ki chuckled.

"I'm sorry, you'll have to wait." Ni-Ki said.

Y/n perked a brow.

"Wait? I've waited for over 15 years." Y/n said annoyed.

Ni-Ki caressed her hand and then brought his other one to cup and caress her face.

"Do you really think I'll allow myself to ask to be your boyfriend without flowers in my hand?" Ni-Ki said.

Y/n had a dense expression put on her face.

Ni-Ki chuckled.

"You really thought after I confessed to you I wouldn't plan to ask you out?" Ni-Ki chuckled.

"Wait so you're saying you want to redo this but with flowers?" Y/n said.

Ni-Ki nodded, smiling.

"Ofcourse I do. What kind of a man would I be if I didn't. You're not like the flings I had. I'm telling you this since you were confused before." Ni-Ki said.

Y/n perked a brow.

"You didn't care about your other flings? Not even Hoyeon?" Y/n said.

"I only did that to try and see if you liked me back. I also have liked you for a long time. I've just never accepted the fact I love you because I thought I was unworthy. I never had that many girlfriends, they were just flings, not even official. They were placeholders for you. I saved you in my heart his whole time without realising. I'm sorry it took me this long Kina." Ni-Ki said honestly and sincerely.

Y/n's heart flipped.

"I love you too Riki. But I'll say this so you know, break my heart again then I'll break your nose. I'm not a doll." Y/n warned him.

Ni-Ki chuckled.

"That's a shame. I kind of liked the whole "Double Ki enemies thing. It made my heart race." Ni-Ki chuckled standing up.

He reached out his hand for her to grab as she stood up.

"You're such a weirdo." Y/n said rolling her eyes funnily.

"Well guess you must like weird things then." He winked.

He chuckled annoyingly as she just shook her head smiling at him in disbelief at his stupidity.

He wrapped his arm around her shoulders to keep her warm as they went back to the apartment.
