Chapter 37 (Attention)

Lili's POV

It's been weeks when Jennie and I had a small fight. Mina keeps on bothering me and texting me none stop but I just ignored her. She wants me back but I already moved on and I don't have plans in breaking Jennie's heart.

When I saw her last time crying and having a hard time breathing. I feel so soft to her that I almost forgot that I'm mad at her. I don't wanna see her being hurt because it triples the hurt to me. When she's sad I'm feeling depressed. It's like what she feels connected to what I'm going to feel.

On a side note, I'm happy seeing my sister Chaeng with Jisoo. The two of them is going out most of the time lately. Having this said and having relationships with the CEO and President, we make sure that it will not affect the company's performance. We helped each other for the sake of the business.

I also got a chance to go out with Seulgi and Jisoo 2 days ago. Jennie, Irene, and Chaeng went to the salon. That's why the three of us ended up hanging out together.

Believe me, they're indeed a crack head.  When I'm with them I felt that we're hanging out for the rest of our life. I don't know why I'm feeling this. But I'm happy being with them and doing silly things with them. Great minds think alike they said.

Jennie is in a 3 days vacation leave at work. The company is doing good and she deserved the break.

We had small bickering earlier. We're always like this. We kiss and makeup.

"You are busy scrolling on your phone,  are you communicating with Mina again? I told you to stop talking nor seeing her". This is the 9th time that Jennie reminded me of this.

" I told you, I'm not. Don't you trust me"? I acted irritated

"Whatever". Jennie answered she's being a bitch again.

" Can you please leave"? Jennie shouted at me.

"But why, I'm not doing anything"? I answered with a pissed voice

Here we are again. My Jennie Kim is being bitched again. Well, I'm used to it. She's always like that but I love her so I don't have any choice but to follow.

Hey! I'm not under, I'm the top remember?

"That's why I'm asking you to leave or move because you're not doing anything"  she answered

God! She's pissed I guess. We're in my condo right now and she's cleaning the mess in the living room.

"Araso! I stand up and went to my room". I shut the door close hard so she can hear itI'm not pissed I'm just acting so she will give her attention to woo me later, we're not having a fight.

Well, the quarrel is maybe normal for couples. The relationship will be boring if we're always in good times.

The more we bicker the more I got alone time with her. Haha! It's not my plan tho but she's sometimes on her menopause period.

She's been like that when Mina came back and I can't blame her so I'm always the one who will understand.

I'm sitting in my bed and resting my back on the headboard when the door slightly open. It's Jennie. She looked at my direction which I saw in my peripheral vision but I choose to ignore her. I'm playing in a rank game so I need to focus or else I will lose.

" Are you not eating"? She asked me but I didn't answer since I'm giving my full attention to my phone

"Tsss". I heard her while she's heading to the bathroom. Assuming that she will take a bath because she's just done doing the house choirs. The reason why she leaves at work so she can rest but she keeps on tiring herself cleaning the house, I can't understand this small girl.

After 30 minutes she went out and only wearing a lousy t-shirt, I'm not even sure if she wears a short or just undergarments. She wipes her hair with a towel until it dries.

" Are you not going to talk, Lili"? She asked again and her voice is cold.

I just answered  "Hmm" since my fingers are busy tapping the screen of my phone.

I decided to wear earphones so the game will be more intense. I'm currently playing Mobile Legends with Seulgi, Jisoo, and Joy.

Jennie's POV

Lili has been ignoring me since earlier that pissed me off. I shouted to her to get her attention but it seems that she doesn't care that's why I became more pissed. She went inside her room and slapped the door hard went she closed it. She leaves me alone in the living room instead of helping me. Chaeng is currently at Jisoo's place while we're left here at home.

I went inside and she's still on her phone. I'm done taking a bath but she's still on her phone. I kept on asking her but she's not answering and even wear her earphones. Is she mad at me because I kept on repeating and bringing up Mina every time we have a small fight? I can't still remove that Mina on the picture she's too desperate to get Lili's attention but I'm glad that Lili is ignoring her.

I trust Lili but I don't trust that Mina.

"Lili"! I shouted

" What" she answered cold

"Are you not gonna talk to me? Okay! Fine, let's not talk just talk with your phone"!

I said. I'm pissed at her. I turn around and facing her back. I'm waiting for her to lean closer to me because I'm sure she can't resist me, especially she knows that I'm mad but I waited for about a minute and she's not moving.

" Hey! Are you mad"? I need to lower my pride this time. I asked her sweetly and remove one of the earphones so I can make sure that she can hear me.

"I'm not" she answered but she's not looking at me.

I put her arm wrapped on my shoulder so I can lean on her chest while my hands are wrapped around her torso. She just let me do it. I  looked like a kitten begging for attention but she's not even interested in giving that attention that I want.

"Victory!" I heard the sound on her earphone because it was on a high volume.

"Yes!" She uttered like a kid and finally, she puts her phone down and removed her earphones.

"What was that again, Nini," She asked and finally hugged me back

" I thought you're mad" I answered while I'm pouting.

"I'm not, why did you say so"?

" Because you're ignoring me". I said sadly

"Oh my Nini wants my attention, come here". She hugs me tightly and starts planting some wet kisses on my face. Clingy Lili is back

" I'm not mad, I'm just busy playing earlier. And I'm not ignoring you. How can I ignore you if I missed you every second of my life". She said that made me blushed. She's now started sniffing my neck and buried her face there.

"I can live here forever". She said smiling

" Can you come with me to the park"?I asked her

" Sure,  give me a minute to take a shower. Do you want to join me"?

"I'm just done, I asked you earlier but you're busy". I said

" I missed that opportunity but you can shower again". She said teasing me

"Just go ahead, will wait here".

Lili's POV:

I'm currently driving the car while Jennie is giving me the direction

" Is this the way going to Jisoo's place? Are we going to see them"? I asked Jennie and she nods smiling.

It's 4 PM and a perfect time to walk in the park but I'm curious why she wants to visit this park if we got a park near the condo.

"Here we are,  just park here". Jennie said when we arrived at our destination

She went out of the car and I followed her. She sat on the bench under the tree. There are children who're playing and some adults are doing jog. I roam my eyes around and the place seems familiar.

Recently, I have been feeling of that thing you called " de javu" most of the things seems so familiar to me but I know that I haven't been there or here.

I sat beside Jennie while she's watching the children on the playground.

Let's walk? I asked her and extending my hands.

She grabs my hands and intertwined it with mine. We walk around the park for about 30 mins and decided to go back to the bench where we are sitting earlier when we became tired.

"I know you're curious why I brought you here" Jennie started to talk

" Yeah, I'm about to ask,  why here"? I look at her while our hands are still intertwining

" This place is very memorable to me, this is where I met Lisa". She said

" Oh don't get me wrong, I want to tell you something about my past so we can move forward together. I mean you tell me something about Mina and I want to share something that I have with Lisa just to be fair. And you don't need to be jealous, Lisa is no longer around, remember?  I just wanna open up to you so I can let her go 100℅ and I want us to start without lies and secrets.

I don't wanna happened the small fight that we have before. I thought I'm gonna lose you and I'm afraid to lose someone for the second time around". She explained when she saw me frowned earlier.

" I would love to hear it". I said while caressing her hand. I'm jealous of Lisa being her first love and I'm curious about them. I smile and waiting for her to start the story.

" Lisa and I met here when we're a kid. Jisoo Unnie,  Lisa and I are playmates. I live here nearby before but our house was sold by my parents when we migrated to New Zealand. That's why Jisoo's place is nearby because Lisa and her are neighbors

When we migrated to the States, we stopped seeing and communicating with each other. I don't even say goodbye to her when I left. To make the story short, after a decade, my family decided to come back here to take care of our business which I'm currently managing. I enrolled at YG University. That's why I met Seulgi, Irene and Joy who are also friends with Lisa and Jisoo

We actually didn't know each other at that time and we're complete strangers. The moment I laid my eyes with Lisa I fell in love with her and luckily she feels the same. That's the happiest day of my life when she confesses to".

"But how did you know that she's your childhood friend"? I asked Jennie

" I left my wallet in her car. There's a picture of us inside my wallet when we're still kids and she recognize it". Jennie continued

" Oooooooooh" my mouth shaped a perfect"O" I was amazed by their love story. Please continue,  I beg Jennie.

" We became girlfriends until my parents find out and they're not in favor of my relationship with Lisa but I didn't obey my parents, I fought for Lisa".

" Did Lisa knows about it?" I asked

" Ani, I didn't tell her, I think it's unnecessary and besides I don't want Lisa to feel bad.

Until one day, Lisa has been absent for 2 weeks. She told us that she's with her family because her dad rarely comes home.

After our college graduation, I saw Lisa with someone and she broke up with me".

" She cheated on you"?!! my eyebrow furrowed

" Ani. Hehe. At first, I thought she cheated but she never cheats on me. She's gone for almost weeks and she never tells us even Jisoo Unnie doesn't have any idea where she was. Until one-night, Jisoo found out that Lisa was hospitalized. She had a brain tumor. That's the reason why she acted that she cheated on me so I will dump her but we were able to talk to the girl that she's with and the girl confesses that nothing is going on between them.

Her parents tell no one even Jisoo who's like a sister to her. Lisa keep it a secret because she don't want us to worry about her.

She's been comatose for months. I used to visit her every day and help her parents to take care of her. There's no day that I will not talk to her even though I know that she will not respond to me.

Again, my dad finds out and she drag me home and lock me for 3 days in my room. It was torture! He even gets my phone so he can make sure that no one will contact me. My Dad is homophobic.".

I caressed Jennie's back. I feel how hurt she was. There's a small tear formed in her eyes that anytime will about to flow.

" Next day when I'm about to sleep, I saw Lisa in my room. I don't know how she was able to get there but I'm sure she's here and we spent the night together. Morning comes and Jisoo visited me telling me that Lisa passed away last night".

Jennie paused and start sobbing. I quickly hug her. " It's okay if you don't want to continue". I said to her

"No, I want to finish this. I can't believe and I'm not believing them because I know I'm with Lisa last night. But unfortunately, they are telling the truth. Lisa really passed away. Isn't it amazing that she thinks of me until her last breath? She visited me for the last time.

We went to Busan to visit her grave. After the incident, her parents migrated to Australia. I became depressed. I was diagnosed and my parents brought me to a psychiatrist. There are times that I decided to end my life. I tempted to commit suicide but luckily Jisoo came and she stopped me. Jisoo is right, Lisa will not be happy if she saw me being like this so I tried to be strong and continued my life.

I gave my full attention to the company until my parents take over the CEO position to me.

It's been 2 years and I never been involved in a relationship aside from you. I let Kai court me but it didn't work. So I told him to stop. I pitted him but I want to be fair enough with him"

"Who's Kai"? I asked until I feel a migraine. My head hurts.

" He's our classmate in college. He used to like me but I choose Lisa. Until we met again because he's also managing their business. He pursues me but I don't really have feelings for him and I only see him as a friend". Jennie answered

" Are you okay, Lili". Jennie asked me when she notices that I'm massaging my temple

" Yes, I am". I answered

" Your love story with Lisa is quite tragic even me,  I felt the hurt. That's why my headaches" I continued and I lean my head on her shoulder

" Do you want to go home so you can rest? It's getting dark" Jennies pleaded

" Let's stay here for a while. Let me rest on your shoulder. This is relaxing".

Jennie sang a song while I'm resting my head and she's wrapping her arms around me. Her voice is like a lullaby. After she finished the song, I asked her if we could go now because I can feel the mosquitoes enjoying my blood.

Jennie drives the car instead because I can still feel the pain in my head.

When we arrived home, Chaeng is already there.

" What happened"? She asked Jennie worriedly

" She has migraine". Jennie answered

Jennie help me and tucked me in bed while Chaeng gives me meds to take.

After I drink the meds. I fell asleep in Jennie's chest.
