Chapter 23 (Why?)

Jisoo knocked gradually on the wooden door. After a few knocks the door wide open and she saw Lisa's mom who's shocked to see her.

"Jisoooo"? Lisa's mom uttered

She hurriedly hugs the latter and Jisoo cried hard. Lisa's mom caresses her back to make her relax. She can't speak she just cried and cried.

"What happened to her"?Jisoo sobs

Lisa's mom tells her everything, that Lisa underwent an operation because of a brain tumor and it's been a month and she's still in a coma. She also conveyed that it's Lisa's wished to keep it and not to tell to everyone including her.

"But why she has to keep it from us, we're her friends and I'm like a sister to her" Jisoo confusingly asked

"You know Lisa, she wants to face her struggles alone and she doesn't want you guys to be worried".Her mom answered.

"But Mom, our friends need to know this especially Jennie. They're so worried about her".Jisoo replied and come near to Lisa's side bed and held the latter's hand

"Be strong, my dongsaeng. I know you are. We're here. Jennie's waiting for you".Jisoo wipes her tears.

Lisa's mom slept and rested since Jisoo looks after Lisa.

Jisoo's POV:

I can't believe what just happened. Seeing Lisa lying in a hospital bed made my heart breaks into pieces. She doesn't deserve this. She's been a happy pill to everyone. Even though she's annoying, bully and hard-headed sometimes she's the most selfless and loving person that I knew.I remembered what happened 6 years ago when she was involved in an accident because of the cheer dance, she hits her head that bad which causes her to be hospitalized for a month and two. I'm also the one who takes care of her until she fully recovered. I actually live in their house for a month just to make sure that there's someone who's looking after her. Lisa is so precious, I love this girl so much. We're like real sisters from different mothers. I can't afford to lose her. She's the only one that I have every time my parents will leave me for business matters.

I let Tita rest, she looks so exhausted and lack of sleep. I feel her. I also insisted that our friends need to know Lisa's condition. I chatted with them on our group chat to meet me this morning at 10 am at our favorite cafe and they all agreed.

It's already 7 AM when Lisa's dad came in with breakfast for two on the paper bag that he is holding on his left arm. Tita texted her earlier that I found out everything. I stood up to hug Tito while he's tapping my back with care. He's like a dad to me I grew up with them. I'm actually much closer to Lisa's family than my own family.

Lisa's dad: Stop crying, Lisa is a fighter. Here, eat first. I bought you your favorite chicken wings and chicken nuggets.

*he extended the paper bag to me with a wide smile*

"Thanks, Dad".I hugged him again.

He always does this. He's spoiling me ever since.

I ate my breakfast and decided to bid for goodbye to Tita and Tito. I promised them that I'll be back tonight. I kissed Lisa's forehead before leaving.

Seulgi's POV:

I just got back from vacation with my family and I still have a jet lag. But Jisoo wants to meet us all because she has something to say which is very important. We're already in the cafe and waiting for her. I gave everyone the gifts that I bought while I'm on my vacation. I'm sitting next to Irene and she's leaning her head on my shoulder.

"Did Jisoo texted you guys"?Joy asked

"She just chatted on our GC earlier and after that, she didn't reply" Irene answered

"I'm nervous".Jennie uttered.

The girls are now arrived and gathered at the cafe. They're currently having tea time while waiting for Jisoo. She's 15 minutes late already.

"Is that Jisoo"? Irene pointed to a girl wearing a pajama and hoodie jacket who's walking towards their direction.

" Sorry, guys I'm late".Jisoo uttered and situated next to Jennie.

Jennie: Did something happened, Unnie? It seems that you didn't sleep and why are you still wearing your sleepwear?

The girls nod to agree but Jisoo remains silent for a minute.

Seulgi: Are you okay, Jisoo? What happened? Tell us.

Jisoo starts crying hard and the girls panic because of curiosity. Jennie hugs her and Jisoo buried her face on Jennie's chest.

Jennie: Unnie, you're making us worried. What's the problem? *she caresses the latter's back*

Jisoo fixes herself and Irene gave her water so she can relax. She inhaled and exhaled for a lot of times before she started to speak.

Jisoo: It's because of Lisa

Jennie: Lisa? yah what happened to her? Did you meet her? Is she home?

Joy: Yes. She didn't contact us for a month. What's wrong with her?

Jisoo: She's not showing up to us or messaging us because... *she stops*

Seulgi: Because? C'mon Unnie. You're making us nervous.

Jisoo: She's in a coma. Lisa was confined a month ago. *she looks down and wipes her tears*

Jennie: Whattt? *she stands up and her eyes went big open because of the shocking news*

Seulgi: But how? And why she didn't tell us? 

The girls are all surprised and have a lot of questions running on their minds.

Jennie: Please tell us everything, Jisoo Unnie.

Jisoo: Okay! Listen. Lisa has a brain tumor. The reason why she didn't show up at school for 2 weeks because her doctor advised her to have a bed rest. She had her operation 3 days after our graduation and up to now she's still not waking up. She doesn't want us to know her current situation. You know Lisa, that's her personality, she wants to face her struggles alone. I'm assuming that reason why she lied to you Jen and broke up with you is because of her disease.

A tear runs on Jennie's cheek. Her face is so red and it seems that there's a knife stub deeply on her heart after hearing Jisoo's confession. Seulgi, Irene and Joy were also crying. They can't believe what happened to Lisa. They're all shocked. Jisoo told the same story as Lisa's mom. She also narrated how did she find out everything.

Jennie: Where's the hospital address? I want to see her *she's still crying*

Jennie, Seulgi, Irene, and Joy went to the hospital's address that Jisoo provided. While Jisoo went home first to take a bath and have some rest.

The girls arrived in the hospital they're now outside of Lisa's room. They're all trembling. Seulgi initiated to knock. After 3 knocks, Lisa's Dad came out.

Seulgi: Good Afternoon, Tito. We're here to visit Lisa.

Lisa's Dad: Oh hi. Good afternoon. Please come inside. *he opens the door wide*Lisa's mom is not here but she'll be back later this afternoon. I assumed Jisoo mentioned to you guys what happened to our Lisa. I'm sorry for keeping it to you girls.

They're all shocked to see Lisa's situation. She has head bandage and with tubes and oxygen on the left side of the bed. Seulgi, Irene and Joy seated and Jennie comes nearer to Lisa's bed. She sat down to caress the latter's face and kiss her hand while the tears are continuously flowing from her eyes.

Jennie: You are a fighter, my love. You will surely recover quickly with the strength and support of my love and prayers. I don't understand why you choose to hide this from us. We should be facing this together. Since that day happened, every moment, my eyes are craving to see you and it is searching everywhere for having a glance at your presence. Come back soon love. If hugs and kisses could cure, you'd have been immune to everything by now. If I can just exchange our position, I'll choose to lay on this bed instead of you. Seeing you in this situation makes me sick too. I miss you, Lisa! I miss you so much.

*she cried and hug carefully the blonde*

It's been a month when the girls found out Lisa's condition and it's been 2 months already but Lisa is still in a coma. She's stable but she's not yet waking up. Jennie never failed to visit her every day in the Hospital, sometimes she will go with Jisoo, sometimes with Irene or Seulgi or sometimes with Joy. She helped Lisa's parents to look after her. Same with Jisoo. Jennie and Jisoo became closer to taking care, Lisa.

Lisa's mom: Thanks, Jennie. For taking care of Lisa.

Jennie: It's nothing, mom. I'm enjoying it and I love Lisa so much

Lisa's mom: Excuse me for a while I just need to buy some doctor's prescription outside. What do you want to eat? We will take out for our dinner.

Jennie: Any food will do, Mom. Thanks, and you take care.

Jennie was left alone in Lisa's room. She's starring on the blonde's face while holding her hands.

Jennie's POV:

It's been two months. I'm here with Lisa and taking care of her. Is it possible to still be beautiful even though she's asleep for quite a long time? Because she is. There's still no improvement in Lisa's condition. Fortunately, Mr. Choi gives me some excellent and very helpful advice.

He said: Keeping her aware that you are there is more important than trying to wake her. She will wake in her own time.Talk to her as though she is awake. Even if she is asleep your familiar voice is likely to reach her. Talk about the weather, events of the day, your day, etc. Touch her while talking. Let her know what day it is, month and year and the season.Perhaps read to her particularly something familiar to her, or play her favorite music, comedy show, etc. And I'm consistently doing it every day. I miss Lisa so much. I miss her voice, cuteness, her being a bully and annoying, her hugs and kisses, her love. I miss everything about her. I wipe my tears when I heard someone knocked outside. I think it's mom. I opened the door and my mouth went agape.

It's Lisa's mom.

And My dad is also here.

Jennie: Dad?

Jennie's dad: let's go home *his eyes seem angry *

Jennie: But Dad...

Jennie: No more buts *His dad drag him outside the room and bring her home *Jennie was left with no choice. Her dad is stronger than her. Lisa's mom eyes followed them and she saw that she signal *It's okay, follow your dad*

After 15 minutes that Jennie left, everyone in the room panicked when Lisa seizures. Her body shakes rapidly and uncontrollably.

Jennie was locked by her dad at home. He also gets the brunette's phone to make sure that no one can contact her. She's crying again, there's no days and nights that she didn't cry. Her dad never listens to her, he's so cruel. It's already 3 days passed when she was locked inside her room.

It's already 10 PM.She went to the bathroom so she can take a shower.

After 30 minutes when she opened the bathroom door.

Jennie jaw dropped when she saw someone sitting on her bed and smiling at her peacefully.

"Lisa"? She uttered
