Chapter 6

BOOM HELLO I'M BACK

So I know this chapter's short but I was really struggling with the whole "also having a life outside of Wattpad" thing 🌝

I'm going to start releasing every chapter once a week on a certain day and time, and it's you, the reader's job to figure out when! 😃

They walked for a long while before Gwen finally turned around and grinning, waving her hand to a building to their right.

"This, my friends, is, by far, the best night club LA has to offer. And it's the one with the most underage drinking arrests! This way!"

They followed her inside, where everything was bright yet, strangely, relatively quiet.

There was a dance floor, and it lit up with a gradient rainbow to the beat.

Jax and Pomni looked at each other, nodded quickly, and immediately ran over to the snack table.

Zooble watched them laugh as they raided the concessions, sitting down in their little antisocial corner and eating as they talked.

Something tapped them on the shoulder and they turned to find Gangle standing there, extending a hand towards them.

"Um... do you wanna go dance?"

They blushed lightly as they took her hand and led them to the dance floor.

For the rest of the night, everyone mostly stayed in their groups, with Gwen, Ragatha, and Kinger staying behind to talk with people at the club.

Of course, when the sun outside began to rise, Caine appeared outside the club, opening a portal.

Gwen got everyone's attention and led them back outside.

They swore multiple times that they didn't have anything to drink, but everyone gave Jax and Pomni suspicious looks as they stumbled slightly.

They stepped through, waving at Gwen.

Caine stayed behind for a moment. "I'll add you to the next adventure," He said with a wink, and followed the cast through the portal.

Jax looked up at Caine as he clapped his hands and closed the portal. "Alright, first things first, since Jax and Pomni are so clearly drunk, let's fix that..."

He snapped, and their glossy eyes widened as they looked around, looking as if they had just woken up.

Jax sneered. "What about Zooble? That is, unless you made some sort of magic hangover-free alcohol."

Caine waved dismissively. "They'll be fine. Alright, you're free to go! Bye!"

He disappeared suddenly, leaving them in silence.

"That was awesome! We were actually humans!" Pomni cheered, a cute grin plastered across her face.

Jax sighed. "That was exhausting. I'm going to bed. Later."

He waved at everyone and winked at Pomni.

Holy $&#@ that was stupid, he thought.

Well, if anything, it had the desired effect, because she blushed lightly and smiled back.

It was at that moment that Jax knew he couldn't deny it.

He liked Pomni.

Pomni stood there, slightly stunned, as she watched Jax walk away.

&#$&, that was kinda hot.

NOPE. NOT DOING THIS TODAY.

She turned away, painfully aware of her red face, as she paced back to her own room and flopped down on her bed, not caring to finish her previous train of thought.

It was all she could do to not even think about him.

What was wrong with her?

Jax was a tall, bald, purple bunny femboy who hid behind a stupid mask.

Why in the world would someone as sane as her fall for a guy like that?

The notation was ridiculous. Laughable, even.

Right?

In the other room, Gangle turned to Zooble, holding in a laugh.

"Do they even try to hide it?" Ragatha snickered.

"Probably had their first kiss today." Zooble said.

Everyone laughed.

"They're so cute. I'm happy for them." Gangle smiled thoughtfully.

Ragatha stretched. "Welp, I'm going to bed. Let me know if they try something stupid."

She sauntered off, laughing quietly.

Gangle turned around to look at Kinger, and found he had disappeared.

"Huh. I guess he went to bed." Zooble said, raising an eyebrow.

Zooble began to walk away, but before they could, Gangle wrapped her hand around theirs.

"Wait. Um, Zooble..." She trailed off, flustered, as Zooble turned to her. "Uh... I had fun, today, dancing. With you. Um. Do you wanna come over to my room tomorrow and draw?"

Zooble blushed. "Yeah! Um... see you tomorrow?"

She nodded, beaming. "Yeah. Goodnight, Zooble."

She let go as they smiled. "Night, Gangle."

Gangle ran back to her room quickly, cheering quietly.

She smiled as she leaned back, staring at her ceiling.

Tomorrow was going to be a great day.

Zooble sat in their room, their face red.

Had they just agreed to... a date?

Did Gangle think it was a date?

Did they?

They couldn't tell anymore.

It was so easy to be friends, a few month ago, before Pomni came and her and Jax apparently became a thing.

Were they turning into something more than friends?

The next morning was strangely quiet as the whole circus seemed to be holding it's breath.

(I MAY OR NAY NOT BE STEALING SOME OF THE NEXT LINES FROM A COMIC DUB 🌝)

Jax walked to Pomni's room, biting his *nonexistent* lip as he knocked quietly.

A pause hung in the air as he waited, then she opened the door, he eyes lighting up when she saw him.

"Hey, Jax."

He smiled nervously. "Hey, Pomni. Um... can I come in?"

She nodded, blushing slightly. She opened the door and he stepped inside, sitting on his feet to be at eye level.

"There was something I wanted to tell you, and, uh... god... I'm bad at this."

She smiled, grabbing his shoulder. "Just say what you're thinking. I'm sure I'll understand."

He took a deep breath, and recited the line he had practiced all morning.

"Can I just... show you?"

Holy chicken fetus that was really short

I've also got some plot twists in mind... 😈

Also I have the idea to add my OC in the story to spice it up, but let me know what you guys think
