Ch. 17 BBH Route pt 3
07:51, 18 June 2023Final part
Before you read, i'd like to take a moment and say that this chapter is pretty dark. A lot of death and sensitive subjects will be mentioned. Because of Technoblade's death, I don't want to write about his character dying, therefore it will be implied but not spoken of. Also, I noticed some mistakes in thelast chapter (such as writing Dream's clock with standard hands instead of Minecraft clock hands being sun and moon). Please understand that it will be fixed during the editing phase, if not sooner. Thank you for understanding and reading ^^.
Dream never heard from Nightmare after that. He never got bad head aches, and he didn't feel the need to sleep in cauldrons anymore (now he does it because he likes it more). He spoke to Techno about it, seeing as he also heard voices, but Techno's voices seemed to never go away; they also weren't related to Techno.
People were becoming worried. Rumors started that the server was crashing because the admin died. No one knew what to do, and it all started because of the random pangs of pain everyone would get; everyone but Dream, that is.
Out of everyone, Tommy felt it the worst. His mind was changing, he could feel it. The pain would get unbearable, to the point in which he started shutting people out again. It was hard to shut out a ghost that can easily go through things though.
Dream knocked on Tommy's door once again. There were rumors of Quackity's ghost appearing on the server; he didn't know if it was true, but he thought he might as well ask his new best friend.
He heard shuffling on the other side of the door, some sniffling and a cough before the door opened a bit to show Tommy, looking much better than a week ago, but considering he was just crying, Dream assumed his emotional state wasn't any better.
Once Tommy saw it was Dream, He pulled him inside and shut the door. "Hey Dream, you got any new memories lately?" Tommy asked, noticing the ghosts new found height and weight loss. "Oh! Um.. yeah actually! I think im 16 right now, but I still don't know when I died exactly so I can't tell if I'll get older soon..." the ghost responded shyly.
Tommy patted the shorter ghost's back, laughing a bit at his shyness. Shroud, having resided on Tommy's head the entire time, crawled down to his shoulder in hopes that the teen wouldn't shake as much. "Don't worry about such stupid stuff. Just enjoy now! It's not like you'll stay like this forever, right?" Tommy said as if he was questioning it himself. Dream chuckled along with him. "Yeah, I suppose. I wonder though, have I really changed since my death? I seem to be getting wiser, and I'm definitely more comfortable around people, but bad memories just don't seem to have the same effect on me as they used to," he thought out loud.
Both teenagers became lost in their thoughts as Dream's previous question lingered in the air.
"Maybe ghosts just don't care about bad things now that they are dead?" Tommy supposed. "I guess," Dream replied."It's too bad we don't have another ghost friend to compare notes with..." Tommy said as he subconsciously rubbed his thumb over the blue stone he had hanging on his neck. Philza helped him make his stone into a necklace so all three of them would never lose the precious blue that was given to them.
"Oh! That reminds me of why I came! There have been rumors of another ghost on the server. Wanna come look for them with me?" Dream glanced from Tommy to Shroud for a moment before focusing on Tommy. For some reason, Shroud hadn't ever warmed up to people. Even Dream, considering he was closer to Tommy than anyone else was. Shroud was persistent in only being near Tommy, even threatening to bite Phil when he came too close.
"A new... ghost? But the only person that's died is... oh," Tommy thought out loud. Do I really want to look for the guy that killed my best friend? My brother? Tommy frowned as he remembered Dream was once someone who also caused him great pain, but after he died he became a much better person. It would solve my question about how ghosts work...
Dream began to worry at Tommy's prolonged silence. Maybe it's too soon? Any trace of doubt was long forgotten as Tommy snapped out of it, smiling at the ghost in a way that didn't sit quite right. "Lets do it."
Tommy set Shroud in his glass cage despite the fact that he knew Shroud didn't need to be caged. Throughout the week, Shroud had made Tommy's home his home, webs clung to the corners of the wall and on his bed frame as proof. The cage was more of a safety thing for if anyone broke into his home and accidentally stepped on him.
Both Dream and Tommy walked around the SMP looking for the ghost. They'd heard a rumor of Techno finding Quackity and scaring his out of his ectoplasm, so they were very confident they wouldn't see the new ghost out in the open. First thing they did was go to Technoblade himself.
One wild ghost hunt later, they were plus one ghost. Quackity's ghost was similar to his alive form. He wore a beanie with little ducks embroidered on the edge of it, a blue jacket with a similarly embroidered duck, and grey jeans. The noticeable differences included his eyes being an off white color, his skin being paler, and the large hole ripped in his jacket; right where Techno would have stabbed him.
Once they had a proper conversation with the ghost, it was clear to Tommy what the answer was to his question. Quackity's once insane smile had become soft with lack of awareness. When asked what he remembered, it was only about his lovers, Sapnap and Karl. Heck, even when they asked him about his abilities his only response was a confused face. He seemed friendly. That upset Tommy the most. Why are the ghosts the only sane people on this server?
In two weeks, Quackity became self aware of his actions, Dream finally turned 21 in ghost years, Tommy became very close with the ghosts, and the random bouts of pain people got only intensified, he also noticed his hand start to wither away. Tommy was losing it.
Time Change
It only made sense for this to happen: Technoblade, the eldest child of Philza, is a Blood god who's killed thousands of people and gotten away with it, not to mention the fact that he's INSANE with the voices Tommy heard him complain about when he was younger. Wilbur, the middle child, went from hero to villain in less than an exile (Tommy would like to point out that he went through two exiles without going crazy). Heck, Wil blew up his country for goodness sakes! It was only natural for Tommy, the youngest of the three, to have a breaking point.
It was midnight when he first struck. You go big or go home, they always said. Tommy went for the biggest he knew. Getting in was easy, killing him was easy, it was getting back out without his dad hearing him and seeing him covered in blood. It'll happen sooner or later anyways. Tommy thought before slitting his own fathers throat.
Soon we will be a happy family again! Tommy smiled as he walked through the snow. He had to cover his tracks in the snow, using his borrowed, half finished netheright sword. Techno won't need to worry about this now. He thought as he shook the sword behind him, covering the white snow footprints with a pink tinted snow. He only stopped that night to wash off the blood on his clothes.
The next morning, Everyone woke up to the familiar pain in theirs chests. No one was any wiser when Phil and Techno didn't show up. Tommy was thrilled! Soon, his family would come back and spend time with him! Everything was going to plan...
Why stop there? A sinister voice asked. Tommy, who was previously laying down on his bed, shot up with panic set into hos expression. "Who the fudge said that?" He asked, his head swerving as he frantically tried to find the culprit.
Why stop with just having your family back? What about... your backstabbing best friend, or that husband of his? Tommy's eyebrows furrowed. Do hearing voices run in my family too? Did Wilbur hear voices? Is that why he went insane? Am I going insane?
Time Change
Dream was confused. Currently, he and Quackity were having a conversation, or as Tommy called it a while ago, ghost's doing ghost stuff. Both him and Quackity agreed that Tommy seemed off; although Quackity didn't really know what he was talking about, he was just going along with Dream so he wouldn't lose his only other friend.
Dream, of course, couldn't understand this. Even though he was 21 again and could remember everything that happened to him, he wasn't effected by those bad things. Sure, he could feel intensely bad emotions when something bad happens- like if Tommy died, but he lacked the understanding he once had from having those bad memories and feelings attached to them. Because of this, he was oblivious to the fact that Tommy was clearly suffering and Quackity was being outcasted by most of the server.
The only thing that changed in Dream was the fact that he acted more maturely.
Sometimes.
Dream decided he wanted to help Quackity. He knew what Quackity did, but judging by his own past, he didn't dwell on Quackity's too long. The first mission they had was to reunite him with his lovers, Sap and Karl. Dream was distant with both of them so he wasn't sure how to approach them. The last time he spoken to Sapnap, the other had apologized to him for the behavior he displayed before Dream's untimely demised. Dream forgave him, having not feeling any ill will towards him considering the Dreamon that ruined both his life and those that were in it.
Despite having such a nice conversation, the two hadn't spoken in weeks. It felt more than just awkward.
Time Change
Tommy panted as he tried to catch his breath. It felt as if he'd just run a marathon trying to off his best friend, but nonetheless, he wiped Tubbo's blood of of his face and on to his blue jeans. Tubbo had started running to Micheals room once he saw Ranboo with several slashes and stab wounds, but Tommy was faster than he thought. He had no choice but to lure Tommy away from his child.
Of course, Tommy wasn't stupid, he knew they had a child. He wasn't planning on killin it, it didn't do anything to him. So he made sure to open the hatch for Micheal to escape, knowing nobody would be checking up on him for a bit. Tubbo fought back, he almost made it out of Snowchester, no one was around to help him however, and he couldn't kill his best friend. He'd already felt so guilty for exiling him and ruining their friendship.
In the end, he couldn't continue, and that was the end of that. Tommy was done with Snowy places, but he still had some people in Snowchester to take care of. Four down, 30 to go. He thought as he went to Tubbo's Nuke factory, (which he found out about when he went through some papers at his house while waiting for Tubbo) thinking he might find others there.
Time Change
Dream floated with Quackity to Kinoko Kingdom, where his lovers were. It wasn't clear to the author where they lived however, so they decided to visit the Kinoko Castle, which they heard Foolish built (Wikipedia is my new best friend, lets hope I don't kill it off like I did Tubbo 💀👀). When they got there however, it was strangely quiet...
All of the lights were off, they had no idea if that was normal or not. It looked unused. Perhaps they lived somewhere else? Dream was about to leave but Quackity continued on, like he was being pulled towards something. A sinking feeling reach Dream's stomach when he started to smell blood.
"Hey Quackity, how about you check the right side and I'll check over here?" He offered, trying to get the young ghost away from whatever accident had happened here. Quackity left, not bothering to question anything. Dream heard someone walk away, so he slammed the door open.
Dream gagged. The first thing he saw was a blood covered Tommy; multiple thing ran through his mind, panic shot through him like lightning, but then he realized who's blood it really was. That... is what made him puke.
"W-why would you kill him... Tommy?" Dream managed to choke out as he looked at the blood pouring from Sapnaps neck. A single stream of blood spurted up into the air, assumibly how Tommy became seemingly covered in it. Tommy seemed confused as to why Dream didn't understand, but soon it dawned on him that Dream was a ghost, he doesn't normally understand things anyway.
"Dream, calm down. Everything is fine, I'm fixing everything!" Tommy said, smiling from ear to ear. His eyes looked more like irises, the pupils almost nonexistent. Dream looked at him, a mix of disgust, horrified, and anger were noticeably present on his face.
Tommy looked confused for a minute. "Dream, Dream, Dream, you misunderstand!" He sighed, "don't you see how they treated us? Ghost's are SO much better. A week from now, we'll all be happily ever after. Fairytales don't just happen, I have to make them!" Tommy said as he angled his body towards Dream. That's when he noticed Tommy's arm. It was... gone?
Blocked cubes formed around the non exist ant part like a censor bar for real life... like a glitch. The blond gremlin seemed to notice the ghost's stare but shrugged it off; he hadn't quite figured out why it was happening either so he used it as an example for why he had to finish his mission quickly.
"In hind sight, I probably should of waited before helping dad" Tommy answered. Dream's eyes widened impossibly wider."H-how many people have you killed?!" Dream asked nervously. Tommy thought for a moment.
"Hard to say, hey, have you seen Skeppy lately? I know he's alive." Tommy said as if he hadn't just asked the location to his next victim. "Wh... he's... he's the ... only one-" Dream stuttered.
"Left? Heavens no, I've been working on this for about a week! Slime is still alive too." He laughed. Dream's ectoplasm ran cold. "How could you do this?! Didn't you think about the others? Why would you do something so awful!" Dream screamed at the sadistic child, tears ran down his face.
"What the hell are you on about Dream? Don't you get it by now? I'm helping them! Before Wilbur was a ghost, he was an effing psycho! Before you were a ghost, you manipulated, hurt, and betrayed everyone who's EVER loved you! Before effing Quackity became a ghost, HE MURDERED my effing BROTHER! Don't stand there and tell me the world would be a better place with each one of these shoot heads turning their backs on real problems and making even more of them because of their dam selfishness!"
Tommy fumed, stepping closer to Dream. Dream wasn't as brave as Nightmare, so he stepped away from the angry gremlin. "This isn't right Tommy! These people had futures, they had a chance to change! Heck, they could have left and made a difference somewhere else! You don't have to right to choose when their life is over." Dream continued, slowly gaining the confidence his brother had shown so many times when he was alive.
"And even if they have issue, EVERYONE DOES! I had a Dreamon controlling me for 13 years! Quackity and Schlatt had some weird deal thing happening, and I'm starting to see some real connections between your family and chaos. The point is, we all have reasons we do the things we do, no one is born evil." Dream inched closer to the glitched child.
"I have to do this Dream... everyone will be so happy as a ghost... Phil even said that being a ghost was super easy. I'm tired of being the annoying child. I'm not gonna make it to 20 like most of you have. I'm not doing this for me, but so everyone else can live better. Wilbur told me- he talked to me and said I was the unfinished symphony. I need to help them Dream; let me help them before I die.
Dream hesitated. Is he crazy? How is he helping them by killing them. Being a ghost isn't as fun as it seems... Dream looked at Tommy's right arm, he noticed the blocks slowly crawl up his shoulder, seemingly spreading quickly.
"Tommy... you-" "Stop," he interrupted. "We're done here," and with that, glitched block enveloped his body and was gone. Dream stumbled back at his sudden disappearance. He didn't want to be around the blood anymore; XD, there was so much blood... he left the room queasy.
As he tried to calm his nerves, he heard a soft sob. Quackity. He'd forgotten all about him in his run in with Tommy. He floated straight through the walls and into the direction of the sobs, each one getting louder as he approached. When he finally went through the last door, he had to hold back more bile.
Karl was next to a dining room table, blood spilled from his arm and back, the color void from his face. He payed in an awkward position, Dream assumed it was because he slid off of the table and on to the ground, judging by the blood trail.
He floated towards Quackity and hugged him. They would have sat there for a while but Dream didn't want Quackity to see anymore bodies, so he slowly moved them to outside the castle. No words were spoken, just sobs and heart breaking screams. That night they both lost someone they loved.
Time Change
Dream and Quackity agreed that Tommy needed to be stopped but was it too late? "Why don't you go back in time to a time you had the book and take it?" Quackity inquired. "No, it wouldn't work. Not only would my body immediately merge with my ghost form, causing me to disappear, but it would also create an alternate timeline that might cause our currently one to change immensely. For example, if I took the book during the time I was in prison and could successfully come back, you might have saw that I didn't have it anymore and killed me. Then you would be the cause of my death." Dream explained.
"How did you die anyway?" He responded. "Suicide." "...""...""Dang that's rough amigo." Quackity said awkwardly as he looked away from Dream. Dream laughed a bit before heading back on topic.
"I don't want to harm him, even if he's insane." Dream stated as he looked towards spawn, where ghosts had slowly started spawning since his last encounter with Tommy. He briefly questioned why it took so long for ghosts to spawn when he spawned a few minutes after death, but decided not to dwell on it right now.
Quackity had briefly asked if they could get the ghosts to join them in their attempt to save Slime, the only one of them left, but Dream quickly shut it down pointing out two issues: one, the ghosts were brand new, half of them couldn't even solidify themselves yet, and two, they've already been through so much; he didn't want to put any more pressure on them.
Luckily, the two didn't need to do much. Slime was... well slime, so he couldn't die to a half finished sword. He simply kept repeating "dap me up" and hit Tommy back, making the child more angry. Dream found this hilarious: Quackity was proud of his slime child.
Not even a day later, Tommy became bed bound. His legs had started to disintegrate, the world around them seemed to glitch. Th ghosts all around the map were confused, no one knew what was happening.
In a snap, the world turned white.
The sun beamed down on the SMP, the morning bright like every other day. Dream woke up, got dressed and looked in the mirror, just like every other day. His heterochromic eyes scanned over the mirror. One eye was green, like it had always been, but the right one was red, like his twin brother's was. He sighed, remembering a few months ago when he confided in George, telling him the truth about hi past.
Luckily George believed him and took him to and Fundy, where he properly got rid of the Dreamon this time. Unfortunately, the side affect changed his eye permanently. He didn't mind it that much though.
He slipped his mask on and went outside of the spare room in the newly built community house, his own house had been destroyed last month in an unexpected storm so he had been staying there while Sam Nook fixed his house. He decided to stroll by L'manburg since he hadn't been there since Jschlatt was kicked out of office by Wilbur and Techno.
The now anti-government nation/state had been doing increasingly well since Dream and Wilbur agreed to share the land. While they could do what they pleased with their land, anyone from the Dream SMP was allowed to enter L'manburg and make their home there.
Dream found this a fair trade and Wilbur wasn't going to argue with growing his nation. All in all, the people all agreed to make Wilbur their leader, but not their president. Technoblade had taken an interest in L'manburg and soon enough, he agreed to become the military lead. Well, technically he was the military. It was mostly volunteer based when it came to most things. Instead of currency, people simply co-existed and shared what they could to help anyone in need.
Dream smiled seeing people giving away bread or wool as he made his way to Philza's house. People smiled and laughed as they made their way through the growing nation, but one person called out to him as they were carrying a few boxes.
"Dream! Hey," Puffy said as she U-turned to walk next to him. Dream took two of the three boxes she had and carried them for her. He then swerved back to where he just came from so he could help Puffy go to her restaurant, where he assumed she was heading.
"Hey mom, how's work going?" He asked cheerily. Puffy smiled as she turned left, walking slower now that they were almost to the door. "Oh, you know. Its a lot easier now that more farmers are staying here! We never seem to run out of fresh ingredients now." She opened the door to the bakery, balancing the box in her other hand.
Swinging the door open, she put the box on a nearby table. "Speaking of, here," she said, opening the box and handing Dream a medium sized cake and some strawberries after he ad set down the other two boxes.
"Thanks mom! I'll make sure to give this to Sap. You know how he is with cake," Dream laughed, remembering all the times Sapnap had smashed any cake he'd come across just for the fun of it.
"Don't you even joke like that! I worked really hard on that young sir!" She teased jokingly as she patted his chest. "Now go on and share that with your friends. Come visit tomorrow okay?" She said, pushing him out of the doors.
"How about Friday instead? Tomorrow I promised Karl I'd help him with something at his library," he replied, popping a strawberry into his mouth.
"Okay, bye my little duckling! See ya in two days!" She then closed the doors and began prepping her ingredients. Dream hummed as he walked away and towards Phil's house once more.
As he Wales though, he saw someone who he'd never met before, yet seemed so familiar. He stopped before running up to the young man. The man in question looked to be about 17 years old, he had dirty blonde hair and crystal blue eyes that shone brighter than the sun. That wasn't to mention he was a raccoon hybrid. Blonde, fluffy ears and a bushy tail poked out from his head and bottom, along with a dark splotch covering his face, making it look as though he was wearing a mask. He wore a red and white t-shirt and light blue jeans.
"Hey, sorry to interrupted you, but are you new around here? You seem familiar..." he asked."Oh me? No, I've lived here for a couple months now actually. You're Dream right? Admin of the server?" He questioned back.
"Yeah, I am. How about you?"
"I'm Tommy Innit, a nobody right now, but someday I'll be leading my own country!" He said with determination. Dream chuckled at his child like actions.
"Y'know, I don't doubt you will," he handed Tommy the bag of strawberries, nodded his head and walked away, leaving a confused Tommy. "Hey Toms, you coming?!" A shorter male with brown hair shouted."Coming Tubbo! Wait up, you wont believe who I just met!"
"Tommy Innit, huh?"
4352 words.
CONGRATULATIONS 🎊🎉🍾YOU'VE ACHIEVED THE GOOD ENDING:"Broken Times"
